Omar was a fabulous guide! His knowledge of food history was extremely interesting and made the experience more than just eating local foods-which were amazing! The restaurants we visited gave us a good variety of delicious food! I think the best food tour I’ve been on!! Thank you, Omar

The streets and lanes of San Miguel de Allende are full of stories of the people who trod the stones that line the streets. Once the home and headquarters of a powerful family, it now anchors a bank and cultural center
First construction of the most photographed church in Mexico began in 1590, the Parroquia with its neo gothic pink bell tower hosts over 700 wedding ceremonies each year
This magnificent church with its clock tower was retrofitted by Zeferino Gutierrrez to please the Bishop José María de Jesús Díez de Sollano y Dávaols, the first native-born Mexican Bishop
As we continue our gourmet dinearound, many of our guests begin to truly feel the sense of the over 500 years of history that cradle our lovely town

★★★★★ A highlight of our San Miguel visit! Delicious food and fascinating storytelling brought Day of the Dead to life. Our guide thoughtfully connected Indigenous traditions, Spanish influence, and the Catholic Church, giving us a deeper appreciation for the celebration. Highly recommend!
Pascal was a wonderful guide. Entertaining, knew a lot about Mexican and San Miguel history. And beautifully described the delicious food we were eating. It was just a magical experience esp during El Dia de Los Muertos
We visited 5 restaurants and sampled very tasty and interesting dishes at each one. Our lively and engaging guide, Pascal, gave us information on San Miguel de Allende while walking us through the charming town. Kudos for having vegetarian options available for our friends at each stop.
What fun eating our way through San Miguel de Allende with Jessica. From roof tops to delicious tacos, learned the towns inside secrets and more. It was so fun we did not want it to end!!
Sara and I had an amazing time on our food tour of San Miguel with Elisa. She did such a great job not only introducing us to some incredible restaurants and food, but also explaining why she chose each dish, the seasonal ingredients, and the rich history behind the region. Along the way, she also gave us great recommendations for other places to eat and things to try while we’re here. You can really tell how much she loves San Miguel and sharing it with people. We’d highly recommend Elisa and any of her tours. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
We do food tours everywhere we travel, and this one ranks in our top three over many years. Excellent food and a very knowledgeable guide—a real Mexican foodie, food historian, and San Miguel historian. Her family has been in the city for generations, and her knowledge is deep. We learned a lot, enjoyed our fellow travelers, and loved the food. We saw some beautiful views too.
Great way to see the city and enjoy excellent food. Our guide, Jessica, was fun and informative. Definitely recommend this tour to get a taste of San Miguel.
The food was delicious and Elisa was very knowledgeable and fun. I would highly recommend this tour - and suggest you take it early in your trip to get acquainted with the area and the restaurants.
We loved this tour and our guide, Vail! Vail was very entertaining as well as being knowledge. The restaurants we visited each had unique small plates and all were delicious! We would definitely do this tour again!
Jessica, our guide, was the heart of our experience. Her food knowledge and experience made this a highlight of our trip. The restaurants and food were great; the weather was terrible. It didn't because we had great company, good food and a wonderful time. Thank you, Jessica
Be prepared for a wonderful evening of great food and laughter if you’re lucky enough to have Pascal as your guide! He was a wealth of knowledge and so helpful both during and after the tour!!
A great way to explore San Miguel! Our guide, Pascal, was super friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about food, history, and San Miguel. We really enjoyed all the food, the variety, and the ambiance. Unlike some food tours I’ve been on, we actually sat down and had a (short) meal at these restaurants. Some of the places we visited were on a rooftop, with gorgeous view of the sunset. I don’t think we would’ve discovered these places on our own. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a delicious, memorable evening exploring San Miguel by food. They can make adjustments for allergies.
We had an amazing evening with Jessica. Food was great and she was very knowledgeable about the history of San Miguel and gave great tips about where to eat and what else to do during our stay. Would definitely recommend!
My husband and I went on the food tour in San Miguel de Allende last night and had a wonderful time! Our guide, Pascal, was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! He took us to five different restaurants and shared history and culture of the area. The restaurants were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the conversation was lively. He ended our tour with the most amazing flan that my husband and I will be talking about for years!! I highly recommend Pascal and the food tour!!
Jessica was interesting, knowledgeable, experienced worldly, and enjoyable.
Eliza was our guide, she is a local with roots in San Miguel. She knows her history of both the town and the food! We learned a lot from this experience. The food was amazing all in close proximity.
Pascal did a nice job of showing us different cuisines within a historical context. I was glad I had an opportunity to do some of the much talked about roof top dining in San Miguel. We talked about different variations of vegetables that grow in this area. My original tour scheduled 5/23 was actually rescheduled to 5/24.
Eliza our guide was great. The food selections were well balanced and her knowledge of food and culture history was an added bonus. I would highly recommend this tour
Elisa did a great giant tour w. We tasted food items that we never would’ve ordered Springs , and they were absolutely delicious. She was very knowledgeable about all the history of the food as well as the city. I would totally recomend to anyone that loves food and history. It’s a combination of both as she is great.!!
Elisa gave us an awesome tour and shared lots of knowledge about regional cuisine and cooking as well as about the history and culture of her home town.
Mary took our group of 8 adults to the most interesting restaurants—a number of them were beautiful rooftop settings and all had fabulous food. She is a great conversationalist and a wealth of information on the history of Mexico and San Miguel. We wish we had done this tour earlier in our trip as she gave us lots of suggestions on what to see and do in the area. Don’t hesitate to book this trip!
It was a fun adventure to hit some of the restaurants in San Miguel - especially since most were rooftops. Pascal was an excellent tour guide with a wealth of information about the history of the town. A couple things to know before booking (that are not the fault of the tour guide): because they are mostly rooftops, the tour is not a good choice for those with restricted mobility. There is no alcohol included. There is not a lot of “authentic” San Miguel food in restaurants, so you won’t eat things that feel particularly authentic to the region. The food was delicious though. Overall, a fun tour and worth the time and money. Next time I’d like to do one of Pascal’s other tours.
This tour was a case where there were a number of individual tastings, each experienced in it's own setting. The quality, originality, and concept of each preparation was underwhelming enough that you might not even call them appetizers. They were things that were quite easy to prepare and the creativity, or the lack of it, really came through in the mediocre taste experience of the evening. The people though were nice and interesting to talk too, so there was that. A hefty price for a meh experience!
I don’t usually do food tours, I’m always worried that the food will be pedestrian but this was fantastic! Great rooftop restaurants, a fun group and a wide range of flavors. Be aware there is walking and a lot of stairs but it’s definitely with the time and money!
Pascal was a phenomenal guide for the food tour! We really enjoyed all the spots — it felt like the best bite at 5 different SMA restaurants all with fun/different vibes. A very good value for the cost IMO. We also got lucky with the other tourers on our night and all had a blast together. Would definitely recommend. Also, the tour was accommodating for a member of our group w allergies and was able to secure some gluten friendly options where needed. Definitely book if you are looking for tasty bites with some history and laughs sprinkled in.
The walking food tour was a delicious way to tour San Miguel and see some of the most beautiful rooftops while tasting local cuisine. Pascal was an incredible tour guide who shared so much history and passion of the town. Highly recommend!
Our tour with Pascal was wonderful! We visited five different and delicious restaurants, all within easy walking distance of each other, with five unique and interesting dishes. Pascal was an amiable host, and he shared great information about the history of San Miguel as well as life in San Miguel today. I highly recommend this tour.
The tour with Pascal was a very enjoyable, informative, and interesting way to discover not only the local cuisine but the city itself. We visited five restaurants, many of them rooftop venues and enjoyed a curated sampling of small plate treats.
We had a lovely experience - great guide who was funny, smart, and knowledgeable. The sunset over the rooftop restaurants were wonderful. The food was good - save room for desert. I highly recommend it. Try to take the food tour early in your stay because you will want to go back to at least two of the restaurants.
We enjoyed learning about how different ingredients ended up in Mexico and loved all of the food and drink! Our tour guide was delightful.
Meeting Pascal and touring the different restaurants he brought our friendly group to was a high point of our visit here. The route was well organized, the distances between the restaurants reasonable and the price, for what was delivered, I found well justified. Strong recommendation
This tour is a great way to have a fun and delicious evening . Pascal our guide was very enthusiastic and entertaining . He engaged us all. The five restaurants we went to were places I never would have discovered. The food was very good.
Pasquale, the tour guide, was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. The food was excellent, especially the dessert flan. The 5 stops were more than enough for a hearty appetite. Consider it dinner, it was more than enough. We were fine, but some folks with mobility issues need to know there are lots of stairs. Pasquale patiently waited and double-checked to ensure every person was ok. This was my first food tour. Do it, the venues and food were great.
Fun way to learn about the local cuisine and try five restaurants! Elisa was very accommodating and made sure everyone was taken care of.
This was quite enjoyable, we visited five hotels with a history teacher who was so knowledgeable about this city. The tasting menu consisted of an appetizer, soup, salad, a taste of a popular dish (delish!) and a very yummy dessert.
We were so impressed with every stop… location, food and stories to go with it. Our guide was so welcoming and fun. It gave us the confidence to explore more restaurants in the area!
Excellent evening food tour with Elisa Torres!! She explained the origins of many local foods as we enjoyed delicious dishes in beautiful locations! Bravo!
What an incredible experience! We enjoyed a wide variety of traditional Mexican meals offered in the most beautiful restaurants throughout the city. Our guide Pascal was friendly, knowledgeable and also a very talented singer. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience San Miguel de Allende from a local perspective.
Pascal was a wonderful guide! He made sure everyone was comfortable and engaged, and provided us not only with good food but with an impromptu concert at our final stop. Highly recommend!
We booked the tasting walking tour for our first night in San Miguel and it was a smart move. It took the stress out of having to decide where to go for dinner, and it was a good introduction to the rooftop restaurant scene. Pascal was a great guide and did a great job accommodating the people in our group who had dietary restrictions. The jicama tacos were the best, dont miss this tour.
Our tour guide was the best ever and the food choices were excellent. I would highly recommend our guide to anyone heading out this direction. She also does other tours besides the food tour.
We had an amazing experience with Elisa. She gave a food tour for my family of six, which was a highlight of our SMA trip. Elisa provided interesting insight about the food and its history, and of course the food itself was amazing. We ate items we would not have tried on our own, and we came away a lot more knowledgeable about the city and its food culture.
Very nice experience. Good food. Pascal was great. He even walked me back to my hotel as I came alone.
The food choices were fantastic. We loved tasting things we would not have known to order on our own. We also loved all the different venues. Several were gorgeous rooftops. Unlike some food tours they were all sit down places. It was really fun to experience so many different places. We were absolutely stuffed by the end. We had several delicious non-alcoholic drinks which were included. As this tour doesn’t include alcohol you could go out for drinks afterwards. As it turned out, we were the only 3 on the tour. We had an absolutely wonderful evening enjoying our conversation with Pascal who a wonderful tour guide who felt like a host.
Our evening food walking tour in San Miguel was amazing. The food was delicious, but Pascal is what made it truly memorable. He was friendly, funny, and incredibly informative. If you can request a guide by name, definitely ask for Pascal—you won’t regret it.
Pascal is an amazing tour guide and entertainer! We were in a small group with a Spanish speaking couple and we’re English speaking- Pascal kept the conversation fluid with translating on the fly everything! His command of languages and history of St Miguel de Allende was fantastic, his food knowledge was impressive as well! He took us to several restaurants within a small area that we hadn’t seen ourselves after walking by several times. The jicama taco was the highlight and tortilla soup was delicious. Would definitely recommend this tour to others investigating the foods of St Miguel!
Fun and educational tour on the food of Guanajuato and the region. Guide was top notch and made it so interesting and everything was delicious.
Pascal was a great guide and the food was pretty amazing especially the stuffed chili pepper and shrimp taco. Got lots of local knowledge and recommendations. A little pricey but worth it if you can afford it.
My wife and I had a great evening with our host Pascal and 4 others. Great food, nice locations, good conversation, informative and fun. We actually ended up back at two of the locations to explore more on our subsequent evenings so it helped us find and enjoy our solo dinners.
