Day Trip To Guanajuato City From San Miguel De Allende

Fernando was an excellent tour guide. The tour was very good and we learned a lot and saw some amazing views. It was not stressful and there was not a lot of walking.

The get your guide, Jalal, shared great history and information of Guanajuato. She communicated often via WhatsApp with the itinerary and gave numerous helpful suggestions for both Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende. The 14 pax vehicle was comfortable and our driver was excellent. Just the right amount of walking and free time.

Our guide was wonderful. Emma was very knowledgeable on the history of the city. She provided lunch options street ,local or fancy and we had a wonderful meal at a local (not fancy) restaurant that featured great local food. She also took into consideration any physical constraints the group had The ride was comfortable to the city. We had a great time and thanks again to Emma.

Emma is a wonderful guide, we drove from San Miguel to Guanajuato and our driver Marco was excellent. We rode in a comfortable van, arrived at the top of Guanajuato and walked down into the town and tunnels. We toured the town on foot for several hours with a stop for lunch at the Mercado. It’s a really beautiful city and the tour is extremely well done. It’s a long day, lots of walking, so be prepared and wear walking shoes. The Diego Riveria museum is a must see and we spent time there, as well as having some free time in the downtown area of Plaza Mayor.

Very informative guide regarding city’s evolution. Enjoyed the many architectural church and building styles.

It was a great tour with the guide Aldo. He was really good at explaining history and story about Guanajuato. I could enjoy learning about the city, and I realized why people doing a city walking tour thing. Transportation was perfect and we had enough time to enjoy the city. Aldo was very passionate to explain everything.

Our trip to Guanajuato City with Fernando was outstanding. My wife and I were the only tour participants that day and it was fantastic having Fernando as our personal tour guide. He is a native of San Miguel and is very knowledgeable about both cities and their histories. Guanajuato City is a shockingly beautiful city but it was also quite unique and almost quirky. It was great to have a guide showing us things that others might miss. This tour should not be missed.

Our guide, Aldo, from Follow Me Tours was fun, friendly and so knowledgeable. He filled us with interesting knowledge of the whole area, even as he drove us from San Miguel de Allende to Guanajuato. Guanajuato is gorgeous and full of history which we would not have an appreciation for except for Aldo. We've had many positive experiences with Follow Me Tours. We look forward to scheduling our next tour with them.

What a fantastic day in Guanajuato! Aldo was friendly, intelligent and so accommodating! He answered all of our groups’ questions thoughtfully, and took us to many different places of interest, telling us the history, the local lore, and imparting his knowledge. I highly recommend this tour - it’s a fantastic way to get the highlight reel of Guanajuato!

Good: Very enjoyable day trip to the beautiful, vibrant, colorful city of Guanajuato. A chance to get a brief but memorable taste of some of the city highlights. Excellent cheerful friendly English-speaking local guide (Fernando) who shared lots of useful historical and cultural info about the city over the course of the day. Bad: compared to other areas in Mexico, perhaps a little expensive.

Great city Tours and I had done the same one back in March and it’s always interesting to take a city tour because each guide brings a little bit of themselves into the experience. Aldo is great one of the best tours around.

Fun day! Lots of interesting things to see! This is a tour for people who are pretty fit. Lots of stairs. NOT for the elderly. What a lovely town! I am so glad saw this town!

This is a MUST see, even though the van drive was about two hours going through some dilapidated housing. We did, however, get to stop at a local taco stand for lunch on the way. Breathtaking views as we approached the unbelievable, ancient city below us. Then we hiked down to the town to explore. You absolutely need good walking shoes for irregular streets and cobblestones.

The itinerary was outstanding- our guide Emma was fantastic- knowledgeable, warm, energetic enthusiastic answered questions made us feel like we were the most important visitors on the trip! The driver was courteous car wonderful and the two as a team really made the tour. So hardly recommend this and can’t wait to do another day trip with this company—

Lots of inclines and walking..be well rested and wear comfortable shoes. Bring good snacks and water.

Fabulous day trip with Jesus, a super guide. The town is amazing and we had time for lunch and shopping too!

FMT looked after my six friends from time of pick up at the airport and then for five days until time of drop off at the airport. There were 8 of us and we went to Posoz, SMA Walking tour, Guanajuato, winery day and Bernal. All tours were excellent and I really thank Emma, Aldo and Marco for being punctual, polite and great entertainers.

Great Experience. I had done a tour but Aldo when beyond. He exceeded our expectations!!! Very knowledgeable!! Recommend this tour 100%

Good guides but the vibes were off on this day.

Guanajuato was a wonderful city, and the tour was a great mixture of guiding me to beautiful parts of the city, and giving leave to wander around. My only grievance is that Follow Me Tours didn't share that there was another group headed to the same place on a different tour, and instead made me think that since no one else had signed up for mine, I needed to buy a second ticket to avoid having it be canceled. I don't appreciate that.

We had a wonderful experience! Our guide, Jalal was excellent! She loves Guanajuato and it shows in the way she speaks about the city. Marco, our driver was excellent as well. We booked a group tour but there was just the two of us. We traveled by car so it turned out to be a private tour. It was a lovely day and not too crowded. It’s a beautiful city. We would highly recommend this tour.

Our Tour guide and driver Miguel was exceptional as he was polite, thorough and well versed in English language. Drive in a van from SAM was very comfortable. Impressed with the weather, cleanliness of the cities and choice of great foods. It was a great trip

I took this tour from San Miguel de Allende. I was supposed to spend three nights in Guanajuato but my airbnb host cancelled on me. So I took this tour. At the time, it didn’t bother me but as I toured this city, I was saddened that I missed that opportunity. This is a great city. Our guide went to Uni here and was very knowledgeable. You will not regret Guanajuato or this tour.

I have visited many places in Mexico in my life. PVR, Cancun, the Yucatán, Tulum, Xcaret, and SMA several times. I absolutely love Mexico. I’d never been to Guanajuato City.. and I can’t begin to express how AMAZING the trip was. I was very excited to visit somewhere new, and this beyond superseded all expectations I had. Our tour guide- Aldo- was incredible. His in depth knowledge of the city and its history was extremely impressive. His ability to tell the stories of this artistic, magical, colorful, historic place made the trip even more special. He was the perfect tour guide, we feel so lucky to have had him. He was very patient, personable, and talented. He took us to a wonderful coffee shop to start the trip & made delightful recommendations for places to eat lunch. He let us stop to take hundreds of pictures, and also assisted us by taking some pictures of us that will be memories to last a lifetime. It was one of the best trips / days I’ve had in my life. Every moment was breathtaking. I can’t recommend this tour enough. It is a must see gem of the world, and I feel so fortunate to have had a guide to lead us on this unforgettable journey. Our tour of Guanajuato was fantastic! Aldo made the experience truly special with his warm welcome and deep knowledge of the city’s history and culture. He shared fascinating stories and hidden details we would have never discovered on our own. Highly recommend this tour and especially Aldo as a guide. Everything was completed timely which was very important to us.

This was a full-day tour from San Miguel de Allende of Guanajuato, a beautiful city (and UNESCO World Heritage site) with great architecture and a storied history. Aldo was a fantastic tour guide who loves Guanajuato and loves sharing his deep knowledge about it. He showed us all the highlights, offered a detailed account of the history, shared interesting and amusing stories, and gave us ample time for lunch, pointing out and describing four restaurants he recommended. I highly recommend the tour.

The pick up was timely, the vehicle transporting us was clean. Jesus was our guide. He has a university degree in tourism and is originally from SMA. The history of the gold and silver mines is very interesting! The food was excellent and the people very welcoming.

This day trip from San Miguel de Allende was a nice way to see some of the countryside by bus, and also learn and see the history, architecture, art, and culture of the city of Guanajuato. Our tour guide was excellent and he actually went to University there. He was very thoughtful in his explanations and the way he navigated us around the city.

Meeting point was easy to find. Driver was good and tour covered the “must sees” in the city. Sadly, the Testro Juarez was closed so we couldn’t go in. Tour had to return at 3:30 and Teatro didn’t open until 4 or 4:30 pm. I didn’t like Jesus, the tour guide. I think he could have provided more information about the sights along the ride and about the landmarks we were seeing. Otherwise, it was ok.

The drive from San Miquel de Allende to Guanajuato was delightful as Jesus filled us in on the tour itinerary and gave us a historical and cultural framework that perfectly set up our time on the ground in Guanajuato. Once there he led us through the very dense urban core of the city and we were able to enjoy the many architectural gems and the wonderful plazas and public space. Highly recommend this tour in general and Jesus in particular!

Aldo was a. Amazing tour, he was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. It’s a lot of walking, but listening to the history of Guanajuato and some of the legends there made it so interesting that the waking didin’t feel bad at all. 109% recommend, thank you Aldo for a great tour!

Ask first if the hole tour is going to be complete like same places were close and there’s nothing you can do 😔

There is quite a bit of walking up stairs and hills. The Tour was well organized and hit the highlights of the City. This is a locally owned company that is professional and knowledgeable. Emma was wonderful but I have traveled with other guides in this company too and they’re all great.
