100% recommend! Beth owns an amazing company, and you get the most authentic experience. I’m not an experienced rider at all, but felt like one after this experience. The lunch at the ranch was delicious, and the hot springs felt like heaven.

I would highly recommend this experience. Beth, the owner, made it extra special with her love of horses and sharing her passion and joys with us. We were the only two on the tour, which made it feel more intimate. We loved the horses, the beautiful trail ride, the lunch, and ending at the hot springs. Brian and Po from Chicago, IL
Had an awesome day riding the trails with our guide. Had an authentic lunch with the cowboys and their families. Ended at the hot spring and loved everything!
Beth and her cowboys did a great job taking us on a 2.5 hour trail ride through the Mexican countryside. We enjoyed the views and the experience riding the gentle horses. We had an authentic Mexican lunch with our hosts then relaxed at the thermal springs. All in all a great and unique experience!
This combo horseback riding - warm springs trip was terrific! We rode with escorts, including two Mexican cowboys, through the countryside outside of San Miguel de Allende, for 2 1/2 hours. The scenery was beautiful and the horses were easy to ride. My husband is an experienced rider and was able to ride faster and take small detours. I’m not experienced and very much enjoyed the easy pace. After the ride we had a home-cooked Mexican meal which was among the best food I ate while in San Miguel de Allende. Homemade tortillas, fresh veggies, agua fresca, chicken Milanese. It was so good! We then rode down to a warm springs location for a nice long soak. It was a great experience from beginning to end! Do it!
While riding the horses, I was amazed by the view as we rode. Really stunning. Highly recommended. TY
So much fun being free to gallop with personal attention from the cowboys! Very easy and fun to do from SMA!
This experience is fabulous! The scenery, the guide and co-owners, Beth, Catilano and Reyes, were exceptional. Ride through beautiful countryside, viewing mountains and canyons, breathtaking vistas. Then you get back to the ranch after a 6 mile trail ride, to a delicious homegrown and home cooked meal. They were more than happy to accommodate our vegetarian friend. Hard to say goodbye to new friends… but next came the hot springs portion of the day. Much needed for gringos after sitting a horse for a few hours!! Our day included the hot springs at Escondido - a beautiful tranquil experience on a Monday afternoon. I look forward to returning when the wildflowers are blooming. Our host, Beth, was delightful. Vaya con Dios, my friends.
What a superb day! The horseback riding through the countryside was beautiful and the cowboys gave us ample opportunity for me to trot and gallop past the cacti - so fun, while my husband stayed at a steady walk - his comfort zone! Lunch was authentic and delicious - we had built up an appetite and devoured the homemade tortillas and cheese. The watermelon juice was a perfect thirst quencher. Then on to the hot springs - perfect end to soak our bodies in the hot mineral water and receive wonderful back massages from the waterfalls. Beth and her team were so professional and wonderful. Take the day - get out of the city and enjoy this perfect day. Highly recommend!
We had a fantastic time riding horses! It’s great for mixed levels of riders. If you’d like to canter and gallop and have experience, there’s some super fun spots on the trail the super awesome cowboys can lead you to so you can have fun and speed! The horses are great and bomb proof! The lunch at the ranch was delicious and healthy. La Gruta spa is a great place to end your trip! Thoroughly relaxed after the fun ride!
We spent an excellent day with Beth and her comrades riding horses near San Miguel. We were picked up and transported to the ranch and met our 2 guides for the day. Beth gave us excellent instructions and we felt prepared and comfortable riding. We each had a lovely horse that was well trained and obedient. The trail ride was about 2.5 hours and we rode 6 miles! The path was rocky at times, winding up and down the hills and the horses commanded it like champs! We trotted several times and ended the ride through the river. After the ride we went back to the cowboy's house to enjoy a lovely homemade lunch by the local women. It included homemade tortillas and cheese, meatballs, rice and cooked vegetables. We also drank delicious fresh squeezed watermelon and pineapple juices. We left there and drove to La Gruta to enjoy a few hours in the thermal water. There were 3 pools with various temperatures. There was a cave that led to a very warm pool that felt like a sauna. The grounds and pools were well kept and wonderful. It was so relaxing to enjoy the pools to mend our stiff joints after our ride. There were drinks and food available for purchase. It was a short 15 minute drive back to San Miguel's center from La Gruta. We loved our time with Beth and really enjoyed spending time with her and learning more about her transition to life abroad in San Miguel. Would highly recommend tour! We especially appreciated supporting the local cowboys and thought it was so awesome how Beth has built an incredible relationship with them. They have been working with Beth for 16 years and you could tell there was a mutual respect and appreciation between them.
Beth provided us a beautiful day of riding the countryside of Mexico and wading in the nearby grutas. I was very impressed with how she and her two compadres were very contentious of safety as compared to each of our level of riding experience. We were given the choice up front of whether we preferred a flat or rolling terrain tráiler for our ride. After a couple of hours we stopped back at the ranch for a very nutritious lunch that included homemade tortillas and cheese, and plenty of fresh vegetables. After our meal we traveled by car to a local grutas for a relaxing two hour plunge in the mineral baths. What a wonderful day! Thank you Beth!
An absolute amazing experience. The cowboys were so friendly and helpful and they rode at our pace. The views were absolutely stunning. Our lunch was a treat and very authentic!!!! Beth was an incredible host and we had so much fun with her at the hot pools. I strongly recommend this journey. We will be doing it again!
Well organized, safe horseback riding in the beautiful countryside. We felt well-cared for by Beth and her team. The ranch was in the area of La Canada, and the ride took us through trails in the countryside thru areas of cactus, the canyon, and then back thru the town. The horses were great, we had 2 cowboys with us who helped us. Pace was a leisurely walk, which was great, and they asked if we wanted to go faster at times, with some trotting, which was fun. After riding, we had homemade lunch prepared for us at the ranch, which was delicious. Then, we were transported to the La Gruta hot springs, where we spent about 2 hours enjoying pools with different water temperatures. Perfect relaxation after riding! Then we came back to San Miguel after our excellent adventure.
We had a great experience with Beth and her team. It was one of the best trail riding experiences I have had. Beth and the cowboys were engaging and made the experience very fun. Appreciated the small group size and tailoring the experience to the riders’ levels. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The horses knew the terrain and it was a very comfortable ride. And the lunch afterward was great. I would highly recommend.
This was such a fun day. Incredible experience Beth is incredibly knowledgeable and very accommodating. The views and trail ride itself was an experience I’ll never forget. Book this for yourself, friends, with family you will not regret it
Really great tour with Beth! She’s an American who is filled with great info about San Miguel, aside from being a great guide. We felt like we got a truly authentic experience on real trails (her partners are local cowboys) for 6 miles! The horses were well cared for and healthy. The tour was followed by a delicious lunch and a few hours at a local hot spring (which was very hot!). Highly recommend this tour!
Beth and her cowboys were amazing. My wife and I had a great experience. We were picked up at the Rosewood and 2.5 hr ride through the beautiful desert of Mexico. Then a wonderful lunch and off to the hot springs. The combo option was great for us. We highly recommend this adventure.
Beth is a wonderful guide. The day started with a pickup at our hotel and private van ride 30 minutes out of town to a small ranch. My wife and 7/9 year old boys have just a little riding experience, and we were pleased that each boy got their own Cowboy to guide them along! The ride itself was 2.5 hours through the countryside, with nice views of the valley. After the ride, we had a lovely lunch at the ranch, which everyone enjoyed. The 2nd part of the day is VERY different, as Beth gives you the choice of 3 different Hot Springs locations. We went with her favorite, which was a large facility with many different baths/pools/locations and a pretty much 100% Mexican crowd. Ended up being the perfect way to sooth those sore muscles after the ride.
Book this tour! It was one of the highlights of our two week vacation across Mexico. Beth is an absolute joy who truly loves her job and living in San Miguel. The horseback trail had incredible scenery (especially the canyon in the second half) and was perfectly fine for beginners. Lunch at the small ranch was delicious home style cooking and had lots of vegetarian (and dairy free) options. The hot springs were more like public pools than natural springs but still unique and really enjoyable, and you can order beer and cocktails. Overall communication was excellent, our pick up was prompt and we were kept informed throughout the day of what was planned. Be prepared to tip your horseback guide 200 pesos per person. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a unique and beautiful way to see the countryside!
Beth was the ultimate guide and host! Horses were sweet and gentle. Lunch was amazing! Hot Springs were a relaxing end in a lush and beautiful setting. If going to SMA include this in your trip!
The experience was amazing! From the beginning Beth took care of us. She has a passion for what she does and takes care of the local communities. She was a joy to hang out with, and educated us about the horse riding, the lunch and the hot springs. Also the lunch was authentic Mexican food cooked onsite of the ranch. We are so lucky to have done this on our 25th anniversary, it was truly a blessing and one of the most memorable experiences ever!!
We had the very best time, this is a do not miss!!! Beth is an excellent guide as are all of the cowboys. The hot springs was a great way to end the day. The lunch was also absolutely fantastic!
Had a fantastic trip. Beth communicated very well and was incredibly kind and helpful. We went with a family of 6 (grandparents, mom/dad, along with 5 and 8 year old girls. We opted for an easier/gentler route and felt very secure / safe the whole way through. We then went to La Gruta for a relaxing spa day.
This was the best combo- after a nice ride on a ranch outside of the town you could relax in the hot springs and recharge. We loved the opportunity to see San Miguel in a different way and get outside of the city. The riding and hot springs were a great addition to our vacation! And Beth was a wonderful guide. Thank you again!!!
Beautiful experience riding on a quite challenging trail but horses and guides are amazing - wonderful views and opportunity to see canyons and lots of nature. The highlight is authentic made from scratch lunch at the farm and then if you are sore- amazing soaking experience in mineral bath. I highly recommend this experience to those who want to experience beautiful animals and get out of the city for a day. Very friendly and knowledgable owner.
Excellent combination trip for the whole day! Beth is doing a very good job planning and driving. We need to acknowledge the 2 cowboys (vaqueros) Reyes and Catalino who really managed the horses (Colorado, Chocolate and Pulque). Authentic Mexican lunch served between the activities.
Best. Trail ride. Ever!!! Don't miss this wonderful tour. You'll get a magnificently scenic and lengthy ride on horseback with seasoned and friendly guides, a delicious homemade ranch lunch, and a chance to soak your weary bones on some beautiful hot springs. Beth, the guide, is terrific and very accommodating. Highly recommended!
Before our tour, we marketed for hats, belts, botas, and boots befitting a cowgirl! We packed our swimsuits and towels to be ready when Beth, our expert guide, picked us up for a day of the best trail riding ever! At the ranch, Beth demonstrated her cowgirl riding skills with a quick tutorial before Reyes and Catalino selected the perfect horse for our individual experiences. In the country all three of them made us feel comfortable and safe as we rode through varied and beautiful landscapes. The horses are tranquil and obviously very well treated - we loved every moment of our time together in the saddle! Then we experienced the bonuses of a delicious and plentiful lunch that was freshly prepared for us before heading off to soak our bodies in the hot springs! This is a day we’re sure to cherish and we enjoyed every moment of it!
I had an incredibly memorable experience on the "Combination Trail Riding and Hot Springs" tour in San Miguel de Allende. Host Beth was amazing, picking us up and ensuring everything went smoothly. After 2 hours of horse riding, the lunch provided was the best freshly cooked and authentic meal I've had. The relaxing dip in the hot springs afterward was the perfect way to unwind. This tour offers excellent value and comes highly recommended!
I booked Beth because a prior review gave her ride wonderful a review and stated how safe and well organized her operation is. I found her and her team of cowboys to be wonderful guides, tremendously professional and kind hearted. We were a party of 6 beginners mostly 20 year old boys and girls and one 54 year old. Beth rides with the group and has three seasoned cowboys so 4 guides to 6 riders. Very safe ratio. The ride was a giant loop of various beautiful high desert terrain with canyon views and multiple river crossings. At the end of the ride, we had a tasty authentic locals lunch that is safe for tourists. We finished the day with a soak in the hot springs that everyone in our group agreed was a spectacular way to finish the day.
My fiancé and I are in San Miguel volunteering and we’re on a tight budget, so I wasn’t too sure about booking this excursion- HOWEVER, it was a million times worth it. We will never forget the beautiful 6 mile trail ride, the lovely home-made lunch, and relaxing thermal pools. It truly made for the perfect day. If you are on the fence, I urge you to book this tour with Beth and her team.
Everything was fantastic, The pick-up was on time trail was organize and pleasant with nice views Also enjoyed the lunch Hot strings a nice surprise Highly recommended
Signed up for this experience the night before because friends were going. I really enjoyed the landscape, food and relaxing vibe.
We had an awesome day with Beth and her team! Morning was a beautiful ride. It was not the typical nose-to-tail experience, rather it was a spirited ride that catered to various experience levels. It was a blast. The ride was followed by a terrific homemade lunch, and then a visit to the hot springs. It was very much a locals experience, and we loved every minute of it. Thank you Beth for a terrific day.
Tre trail is long enough with beautiful, peaceful scenery and at the end we were rewarded with delicious local homemade lunch. The spa was not overcrowded, which was good so we could enjoyed even more. The spa is nested in a quiet park which elevates the whole experience.
First off, my husband and I are NOT tour types - preferring to tour ourselves. Through an acquaintance we met Beth. We decided to book the trail riding/hot springs combination and we were completely blown away! She picked us up in her nice Suburban truck and drove us to the ranch. We didn't expect the authentic experience we encountered in visiting a real ranchero ranch and getting to ride on a beautiful acreage of beautiful flora, ranch animals, chickens, goats, sheep and a 300 year old ruin (chapel). The cowboys were attentive and very kind. We felt very safe in their hands they are 100 percent in control of their environment and animals. We had a lovely authentic lunch at the ranch. Beth is a wonderful host, full of stories of the place and a great person all around, The hot springs were the icing on the cake with hot pools to dip into after a ride on the ranch! Soaking in the mineral water was invigorating and the hot water massage from the falling hot water was incredible. I cannot stress enough how memorable this trip with Beth will be, and highly recommend it. Leah and Allan
This is a MUST if you are visiting (or local) to SMA. Beth is such a vibrant guide with a true love for her community. She picked us up on time and made sure we were well equipped for the days festivities (sunscreen, hat, towel, water). When we arrived at the ranch, the cowboys (Reyes and Catalina) had the horses ready to go! Beth gave us the rundown on how to ride the horses and feel in control— as beginner riders, this made us feel a little less intimidated. The ride is absolutely stunning— we rode through creek beds, up hills, trotted along the countryside, stopped to take pictures at the canyons, saw 300+ old architecture… it was sensational! Catalina’s wife prepared an authentic Mexican meal that was SO yummy and thoughtful. Beth is full of good conversation and local knowledge… she is so easy to talk to and just an all around good time. After leaving the ranch, Beth drove us to the hot springs which was refreshing after a day in the sun. She took us to pools that we would have missed had we visited the property on our own. It was such a special experience! We are huge fans and would recommend to anyone in the area… and if for some reason you don’t love horse back riding or hot springs, do it so you can enjoy the presence of Beth!
What a fun experience! Beth was great. The horseback ride was awesome with surefooted and responsive horses as well as scenic countryside. Beth makes you feel very comfortable around her horses and the cowboys are there to help you every step of the way. Lunch was delicious, healthy and very authentic. The hot springs was an enjoyable relaxation after an active day. Next time we want to do the sunset/overnight ride!
My cousins and I had the best time riding and swimming. The cowboys were delightful and very helpful to us that hadn’t ever ridden or haven’t ridden in a very long time. They were patient and knowledgeable and so very kind, the trail we rode was just the right amount of adventure and visiting the 300 hundred year old chapel built by the indigenous in the area was amazing. The lunch was delicious and plentiful and the company was excellent. The pools were great too. We would definitely do this again!
Beautiful countryside Mountain and Canyon Vistas. Friendly local community hospitality. Gentle healthy and happy horses. Professional guide services. Delicious homemade Mexican lunch with quesadillas to die for. Soothing natural hot springs provided soothing finale to a fabulous day.
5. We were a party of four adults, 2 teens and two children. We all had a great time. The cowboys were very wonderful to everyone, especially our 7 year old. They were kind and experienced. The lunch was amazing. Our foodie son said the food was some of the best he ever had. Thank you so much!!
Was a great very well planned out trip, super friendly highly recommended ! The horse back riding trails were awesome! Hot springs were great as well!
I cannot say enough about how great this tour was, especially because Beth could have cancelled on me (the other riders in my party couldn't go, last minute) since our group kinda dribble down to me. So I was super grateful for her hospitality in taking me solo. She was warm, welcoming & knowlegable. Everything was organized, on time, & I had fun every step of the way. My horse was Waimea and we bonded by the time we ended the tour. I had never been on a tour that was so rustic and had so many different types of landscapes & scenery; at one point they had me (safely so) on the very edge of a cliff overlooking the valley floor far below! After the delicious lunch provided we hit the hot springs which was also another win! Had I not met Beth by accident at Hank's bar & restaurant, I might not have had the good fortune to use her service (totally serrendipitous events)! So I know that I will be back for future tours! Highly, highly recommend!! Go for it, you won't be sorry!
We had an amazing ride with Beth and her cowboys. The horses are wonderful and calm and the scenery is breathtaking
Great communication with Beth. My partner and I were the only ones on the tour and had Beth along with two cowboys to guide us. It was very fun! Got to see a different side of Mexico. Authentic mexican lunch was cooked by a local and enjoyed at the ranch - very delicious! Got to enjoy some time at the hot springs after - nice after a more of trail riding.
What a wonderful experience! From the beautiful surroundings of the hillsides and river to the authentic and delicious meal, to our warm funny hostess, Beth, and ending with the soothing and invigorating hot springs, this day was perfect!
Beautiful scenery and a lot of fun very good time and throughly enjoyed the horses were beautiful and very friendly to ride for a beginner
My wife Veronica and I spent a wonderful 7 hours in early November 2021 on this combined trip. Beth picked us up outside our Airbnb and drive us to the ranch where she introduced us to our horses Chocolate and Pony. We got a quick lesson in western style riding then with the help of Reyes and Catalino, our two cowboys/helpers, off we went.... The terrain was rugged but we were well mounted and had no difficulties. At the halfway mark we got off and enjoyed the view then on the way back picked up the pace with some cantering and galloping, got some great photos of the canyon and came home along the river bed that you see in the photos. There followed a delicious authentic farmhouse meal washed down with Chaya & pineapple juice Chaya. Then we went off to La Gruta natural hot springs where we soaked our sore muscles. And of course Beth dropped us off outside our Airbnb. This was a memorable trip made extra special by the case she gave us including stopping at a pharmacy to get water and lending us some sunscreen... We will be back in the future probably with family and friends to do the same trip.
I can not say enough about what a wonderful experience with Beth and her crew. From the moment she picks you up till the moment that she drops you off you will not have a better or safer experience. She can customize your ride to suit your level of experience my sisters and her friends went out as very experienced riders on Monday and had just as wonderful a time as I did on my more beginner friendly ride on Thursday. Lunch back at the ranch was wonderful and the afternoon spent at the hot springs was a nice relaxing end to the day. Thank you Beth I truly had the best time.
