We waited at the designated location for an hour and the tour guide never showed. We tried calling but his voicemail was full. We sent a text but no response. Other tourists were there as well. We finally sought the help of one of the tour guides from the city and she also tried contact Jesus. Very disappointing and unprofessional. I won’t book through TripAdvisor again and I hope I can get my money back.

We had a great experience with Jesus. He explained the history of San Miguel and paused for questions and asked if we had questions or wanted to know more information on things he explained. Jesus is very friendly and we enjoyed the pace of the tour and all the history that was shared.

Jesus led us on a nicely paced, interesting cultural and historical introduction to SMA. We really enjoyed the side trip to a beautiful park and the old laundry. As a SMA local, Jesus had a lot of insider knowledge to share!

We loved Jesus guided walk, he provided fascinating historical information, the local nobility influence and how San Miguel de Allende came to be the name of the town. We are so happy that we used a local native guide to support his small business. The guides walk was definitely fascinating. Jesus also provides us with information on other areas we should visit in the state of Guanajato.

Jalal was our tour guide, and she was excellent! She was extremely knowledgable. We could feel her passion for history. She was also very friendly and patient, and took some great photos and videos for us. We had a lot of fun and learned a ton!

I would love to give a good review because I’ve heard great things about this tour. However I was at the designated meeting spot, early, but no one ever showed up for the tour. I tried to call the only number I had several times, but no one picked up. Very disappointed, especially since I paid n advance.

After wandering around on my own for a day or so, I realized I didn't really know anything about this wonderful town. Jesus, who grew up in San Miguel, is sooo knowledgable. He has such depth of the history and was open to all sorts of questions any curious person might have. It was an easy walk and I left feeling I learned enough to enjoy SMA even more than I already had been. You just need to take this tour to know where you are.

We had a great time with Jesus, and were very lucky to have him to ourselves since 3 other people didn't show up. He was so knowledgeable and insightful as he was born in San Miguel de Allende. You could feel his connection and interest in the town. He does a great job showing how well preserved the city is with past pictures and showing how it's largely unchanged today. He walked us through so many different pieces of San Miguel...the history, the local pieces and even bought us treats to try as we walked through the local markets. Definitely recommend booking with him.

Jesus is native to San Miguel. He took the time to give so much interesting history of the city and it’s rich traditions. Would definitely recommend to book this early in your trip as it helps you understand the city and appreciate all that is around you.

The tour covered numerous places I was interested in, such as the art institute and the Jardín Benito Juárez. It also covered off the beaten path places like the old public laundry. The tour guide made sure everyone kept up and gave us water and bathroom breaks.

Sometimes you just get lucky and receive an experience way above your expectations. I was honored to be toured around SMA by Jalal, a researcher with years of experience. She packed an insane amount of information into the tour’s time (plus, generously, bonus time), while making it engaging and not overwhelming. She continuously checked in with the group to make sure that everyone was keeping up with the pace OK. We all received a cute video from her and a list of places to visit. If you just arrived in SMA, start with this tour, it will set you up for a perfect visit with many points of interest to come back to and hidden gems you’d never find on your own. An easy walking tour for about 1.5 miles around town. Parks, churches, buildings and some history mixed in. I was hoping for a bit more information on life n San Miguel today.
