My tour experience with Nestor was nothing short of amazing! We did the El Yunque Rainforest experience, and he made the entire day fun, enjoyable, and truly memorable. Nestor is extremely knowledgeable about Puerto Rico and its history, and his passion for what he does really shines through. He goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great time and gets the most out of their experience. Nestor is the man! If you’re visiting Puerto Rico and looking for an incredible tour guide who genuinely loves what he does, I highly recommend booking with him. I would absolutely do more tours with Nestor on my next visit! Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

After about one hour we will arrive at the most pristine, beautiful and enchanting forest you've ever seen. Surrounded by tropical forest, the Espiritu Santo River snakes its way through the valley. We will proceed to follow the river for about an hour. There are plenty of natural swimming pools along the way where we can stop. When we reach the end of our hike, you will find yourself immersed in nature, totally at peace with your surroundings. At the end we reach a waterfall that deposits into a very large pool. Good physical condition is required for this hike.

Our Guide was excellent. Very personable and knowledgeable about the rainforest and local plants and animals. Less hiking than expected but plenty of time to relax at the waterfall and swimming holes.
Kenyon was amazing! He was on time, polite, super informative and personable. We were able to take our time and truly enjoy the beauty of the hike and waterfalls. He was knowledgeable about many plants and critters and was more than willing to take pictures. He even provided cold water and some snacks. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
Great experience hiking up a waterfall!! Not for beginner hikers but a great experience if you're moderately good at hiking. I had a great time and got amazing photos. Sean Knight was a great tour guide! Very friendly and made the experience great. There was no one else around while we were there so it felt even more unique.
Our guide Kenyon was awesome! He explained a lot about the culture and different areas! He took his time with us and did not rush. He gave us options on our tour as well! Great guide and would highly recommend him! We would book again with him on our next trip!
Great views , refreshing water , excellent tour guide - company was called ‘ I work where you vacation’
The hike is not really a hike...its more of a climbing scramble over slippery rocks into cold pools and some murky creeks and waterfalls. Id give a 3 1/2 stars to be fair but theres no halves. Our guide was 5 Stars...he accomodated our level of ability to hard scramble on the wet rocks. The Trip Advisor description does say peopl 55 and older may be unable to do the hike (which seems like an arbitrary age) but eventhough it is a very difficult "hike" (it has a 4 or Very Difficult Trail Rating on All Trails) the Trip Advisor description and company should have it in plain sight in the first paragraph. One big disappointment was when I messaged the tour company the day before after reading that it was a "difficult hike" expressing my concern about this and asking what equipment we may need (THE TOUR COMPANY PROVIDES NO HELMETS, NO TRAINING) the company was very casual and just said to bring hiking shoes and water shoes. Spoiler Alert: You definitely want one or the other or some specialised water/hiking hybrid footwear as scrambling up these boulders and slimy rocks will get your head split open or a broken arm/leg. We could only manage an hour of the supposed 3 hour hike...so I insisted later they refund us half our money which they did without problem.
Had an amazing time hiking through El Yunque National Forest! Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and you could tell he truly grew up around the rainforest from the way he explained the history, nature, and hidden spots along the way. He took us to several beautiful areas deeper into the forest that we never would’ve found on our own, and he also took some really great photos for us throughout the hike. Such an authentic and memorable experience — highly recommend! 🌿💦📸
My daughters and I loved this rainforest hike! It’s not for the faint of heart. At times, you’re literally climbing up steep hills, grabbing onto exposed tree roots, and making your way over rocks and streams. The small falls at the top was beautiful, and we enjoyed swimming in the cool freshwater pool. Our guide, Kenyon, was friendly, helpful, and taught us a little about the rainforest and our surroundings. We look forward to trying more excursions in the future.
I had such an amazing time! This excursion takes you to beautiful waterfalls with not many people. Fabiola was such an amazing guide and shared a lot of information about Yunque. This was a special experience and a must do when visiting the main island.
We had Sean as our tour guide and it was the best experience I have ever had on a tour. He was kind, knowledgeable, and really made sure we got the most out of the experience. It was just him, my fiancé, and I, and we explored the most beautiful scenery and had so much time to swim and take it all in. We also had great conversation. It was incredible.
Our guide was Shawn and he was awesome! He showed us so much and we really enjoyed the experience. I would recommend Shawn to anyone.
Great remote rock scrambling!
Kenyon is great. Great adventure. Just make sure to clearly state what u like to do and Kenyon will help me it great.
Super friendly guide and nice quiet area. Not as much of a hike, more of a rock scramble and swim, but really fun for both kids and adults
Hazel was absolutely the best! He fed my knowledge for local plants and animals throughout the experience. Due to heavy rains causing flooding in some areas- our experience had to pivot AND Hazel did not disappoint. (For a LGBTQ+ couple, this experience felt safe and welcoming!) Very happy with this experience!
We had an absolutely amazing time during this trip! We knew that we wanted to do something in El Yunque, and had a hard time choosing the best possible activity due to the short duration of our stay – but this one was a great choice. We stayed off the main track. We were a small group (just the two of us and another couple). We were away from the typical tourist spots and Sarah took us on a real hike through the jungle. The route wasn't super easy, so this is definitely an activity for people who are reasonably physically fit. Also, one important thing to note – Sarah had mentioned beforehand that "it might be wet", but we might have underestimated that, as we were walking directly through water with our clothes on. I didn't take any clothes to change into (as I said – I thought I might get a little damp or catch a shower, not that I'd be walking through water) so I definitely recommend that everyone bring a change of clothes and socks. Also, if you want to bring your camera, prepare some kind of waterproof case or bag for it, just to be safe. We loved all the waterfalls and pools we saw. Sarah was a great, caring guide and she had some snacks and water for us. I just wish we could spend there all day.... It was perfect and we'll never forget that trip!
We had a fantastic morning with Fabiola this morning! As we were a group of 5 we ended up being the only ones on the tour and had a great private experience. Loved getting to spend time in the more remote waterfalls by ourselves and avoid the crowds at spots like Coca falls. Fabiola was also kind enough to drop us off at the beach afterwards and offer some Viejo San Juan recommendations which we really appreciate. This is a great tour option to get the smaller group or private experience and see more remote parts of the rainforest. Just make sure your group is mobile/fit enough to climb rocks and slippery areas - worth it if you’re up for it!
My friends and I had a blast on our tour. Our guide, Sarah, was amazing! She made sure we all had a great time and were safe. We had so much fun swimming in the waterfalls and made some fantastic memories. I would definitely book again with Sarah.
Our guide , Sarah, was super amazing, extremely knowledgeable, and skillful with managing our group of four amigas on a stunning hike, climb up to multiple waterfalls! She tailored our adventure to our hiking skill levels and encouraged lots of fun, adventure and swimming! ( I personally am an active 66 year-old and the hike was perfect) The cave under the waterfall was breathtaking! We had Gawjus weather, with some rain only at the very end of the hike… perfect! Sarah carried great snacks and water for us which we enjoyed at the waterfall “beach”. Sarah spotted a hummingbird nest and an active bee hive on our hike back down and took some awesome pictures to share with us. We would absolutely recommend this adventure and ALL 4 of us would highly recommend that you ask for Sarah as your guide!
We had an awesome time on this tour with Kenyon our guide! He gave us lots of information about the rainforest and the ecology of the forest. We took two different hikes to beautiful areas and ended up swimming in the natural pool which was a thrill! Both hikes were medium difficulty and he made sure we never tripped and were safe. We loved the scenery and this tour made our trip. Kenyon is an amazing guide and we really felt like we were on an outing with a friend. Highly recommend!
The trip was nice but not exactly what I was expecting. From the write-up, I envisioned a hike of some distance to a waterfall where we would have the opportunity to swim in the pool of a waterfall. To be fair, there are a couple short hikes to waterfalls; however, the hikes are short (1/4 mile) and more like rock scrambles over very slippery rocks. The waterfalls are beautiful though and I did enjoy myself, it just wasn’t what I was expecting.
Our guide was “Roy” and the best excursion we have ever done. What a “neat” experience, Thanks Roy!! We will be back!
El Yunque is beautiful and Sean is a great guide. He took me to two areas, completely away from the crowds.
On our third trip to Puerto Rico, we were looking for something off the beaten track and that’s what we got! Sarah knew this trail like the back of her hand, was extremely knowledgeable about the agriculture and just so much fun to be with. The trail was adventurous and challenging, gave us a thrill without feeling dangerous. We had romantic and joyous experience. PS when she says wear socks, she is spot on!
We had a fantastic time and just ended up being a private tour with my wife and I. Sarah did a great job making sure my wife was able to climb the rocks without skipping. Definitely be prepared for a challenging but exciting hike!
This was the highlight of our quick getaway from NYC to Puerto Rico for a birthday celebration for my wife. Sarah was our guide and was top to bottom one of the best guides we have ever had (and we have traveled extensively and done dozens of managed hikes and many solos). She texted us in the morning with friendly reminders and was very responsive to any last minute questions on our part. She was on time and friendly right away when she greeted us and made us feel very at ease. On the drive out to the rainforest Sarah was again friendly and also very knowledgeable about Puerto Rico overall and the rainforest. We leaned bits of history and about the ecosystem of the rainforest and the culture in Puerto Rico. She also gave truly incredible restaurant recommendations. The hike was absolutely beautiful and the perfect level of a challenge for my wife and I. We felt safe and had fun the whole way through. Sarah guided us to the most pictures swimming spots with some of the best views I’ve seen. Right from the gorgeous waterfalls and swimming area you can see all the way out over the city and into the vast ocean. Stunning. These spots were also not at all crowded. In fact it was just us for much of the hike and the swimming which made it feel like a dream. By the way Sarah is 100% right about just going in your socks. I bought very good river walking shoes but they were a waste of money compared to my Hanes ankle socks in terms of grip and ease. Don’t bother buying shoes just bring extra socks!! We spent a few hours around the river swimming and exploring and on the way out we stopped for snacks again at a beautiful viewing spot. My wife and I highly recommend this trip. And if you can request Sarah I would say to try and get her. I’m sure all the guides are great though as she spoke very highly of the tour company and the people in it. But she’s of course our favorite now!
Had the best time ever! Sean was my guide and I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. Very professional, punctual and knowledgeable about El Yunque. I highly recommend this your and Sean if you want a great, fun experience. He also captured all my photos!
This is a relaxing zen visit to the two waterfalls. Take you water shoes and hiking boots for wet rock traction, The two swimming ares are very peacefully
We had an incredible time with Airam as our tour guide! El Yunque is absolutely gorgeous. The caves, waterfalls, & rivers that we were led to were beyond stunning. I highly recommend this tour if you love being in nature, enjoy history, don’t mind a slightly challenging hike (you’ll be walking through some muddy and rocky trails, up/down a hill, & climbing up a few rocks but all at your own pace and with assistance), and if you aren’t afraid of a little adrenaline rush (there are some cliff jumps but they’re about 8 feet). I’m afraid of heights but once you go for it, the water feels so refreshing after sweating from the hike! Every location was so worth it. It was lovely being just us, occasionally seeing locals, without large crowds or tourists and being able to take our time. One of our favorite moments was at the final location, swimming in a picturesque river where tiny little fish gave us with kisses. Definitely bring towels, water shoes or slip-resistant hiking shoes, and you’ll have a great time!
Edward and Fabiola were absolutely fantastic! we had the best tour and felt like locals, they made sure to take us off the beaten path and away from big groups. Their lunch location choice was spot on and they were so in tune with what our group was looking for! Thank you for such an amazing day! They were even so friendly with the couple who was difficult! Edward and Fabiola stayed so positive the whole time.
We went on our hike with Sean in El Yunque for our honeymoon. We ended up being the only couple that booked so we basically got a private tour. He was timely and at the pick-up spot early. He took us to three different waterfalls and we saw lots of wildlife. Sean was very knowledgeable about the history of the rainforest and the community and was so informative. He also did an excellent job of giving us a heads up when parts of the hike would be difficult. If we couldn’t do parts of them, he found alternate trails so we could still enjoy the view of the waterfalls. Sean was patient and kind and it is clear he loves what he does!
My boyfriend and I had the BEST time with Sean. He welcomed us as if we were family, he is very knowledgeable about the area, its history, and how to safely navigate through. Sean is very considerate, fun loving & the pick-up process was seamless. This tour is truly for the adventurous who want to go off the beaten path. We will be back!
Amazing, adventurous experience hiking off the beaten path in El Yunkue! Sarah was an incredible guide that made us feel confident and helped us have lots of fun! 10/10 recommend!
Had a private tour in the more calm areas of el yunque , loved it! Would recommend if you’re looking to experience the rainforest without the waterslides. Fabiola was great!
Awesome adventure, my teenage boys stated it was the most fun they have ever had. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable highly recommended.
The experience was awesome, one of the most fun things I’ve ever done by far. We had an awesome guide Jean who made everything easy, showed us many cool views, and helped us have such an amazing experience.
My tour guide was Edgardo Diaz, he was fantastic and helped me get through a tough hike that at times I didn't think was possible. You can feel safe with him as your guide!! Recommend 100%.
The experience is amazing- Fabiola is knowledgeable and fun! The rainforest is beautiful and serene and the fresh pools for swimming are a perfect way to cool off.
Edgardo made the day amazing for us. Truly enjoys showing Puerto Rico to folks providing a lot of commentary on everything. Took us to super private and beautiful spots without tourists in the rain forest and came prepared with towels, water, snacks and plastic bag for wet clothes. 10/10 recommend him.
We had an outstanding trip with Edgardo!! He was the best guide, explaining everything to us, showing us the most beautiful sights and taking care of us along the way!! He took such great pictures of us, was prepared with towels and plastic bags, he also got snacks for us !! Truly an outstanding tourguide and tour
Fabiola took us on a wonderful tour of El Junque - we visited stops where there were no other people, which made it a completely different (better) experience. She was flexible, friendly, and tons of fun. Six out of five stars!
Such a fun and entertaining excursion! Shara was knowledgeable and kept everyone safe — a fantastic experience!!!!!!!!
We had an amazing time with Sarah as our tour guide! The hike was stunning, it’s not easy but it is very doable if you’re able to balance well. Would recommend to wear athletic clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for an off the beaten path adventure with a small group. Sarah was a great tour guide, she was friendly and very informative!
We really enjoyed our experience with Sarah! She took us to some great spots and was super helpful in navigating the paths. My favorite part was definitely swimming in the cold and refreshing water. Would recommend.
This was a great experience, worthwhile for anyone whether they are visiting or a native. Sarah was a fantastic tour guide. She can answer any question and makes sure everyone is doing great. A+
Swimming. Cliff diving. Caving. Fantastic guides! By the end of the day we were so happy el yunque was flooded, as I think this is an even better trip for adults and older kids (8+).
We booked this El Yunque tour because it was described as a small group, off-the-beaten-path, and a bit challenging. It definitely delivered on the challenge, more than my husband and I expected! We hiked down to a water pool in our socks (yes, socks). When Sarah, our guide, said shoes wouldn’t work, I thought, “You do you, but I’m wearing my hiking boots.” One step on a rock and it was immediately clear, shoes weren’t going to cut it. The rocks were slippery, and socks actually gave better grip. I kept thinking, "this is bonkers and so unsafe." Climbing down was tough, and the way back up wasn’t much easier. I had wanted a challenge, but I was also on vacation and didn’t want to take unnecessary risks. My husband was completely unfazed and seemed to be loving it. He and Sarah chatted happily while sitting in the natural pool. Honestly, I wasn’t a happy camper for most of the hike. I’m the kind of person who needs to be mentally prepared, and I just wasn’t. I finally relaxed a bit more during the second hike to another water pool. Though this wasn’t what I expected, what turned it from a difficult experience into a meaningful one was Sarah. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, confident, and clearly knows the terrain inside out. She guided us every step of the way, showing exactly where to go and how to navigate the rocks safely. It was just the three of us, and she made us feel supported the entire time. Sarah is only 29 but has already lived a full life. She’s bright, confident, grounded, and truly knows what she’s doing. We had great conversations during the drive and by the water pools. When we travel, it’s not just the places or activities that stay with us, it’s the people we meet. Sarah is one of those people. If I ever do something like this again, it’ll be with someone like Sarah, and with a waterproof bag instead of a backpack! I recommend this tour if you're up for a real adventure, but definitely ask for all the details in advance so you know what to expect.
This was an amazing experience! The waterfalls and rainforest were breathtaking. The tour guides were very helpful and assisted us when needed on the adventure. They made us feel safe, comfortable and supported while swimming and climbing! I would recommend this tour to everyone who is capable of doing physical activities.
My bestie and I met our incredible tour guide, Fabiola, on a Friday afternoon, and from that moment on, we were off on an unforgettable adventure. She was not only super friendly and easy to talk to, but she also shared fascinating historical insights about the island, making the journey just as interesting as the destinations. We reached our first stop in about 45 minutes — and honestly, there’s no way we would’ve found this place on our own. Once we turned off the main road, we didn’t see another car. It’s a true hidden gem. Our first stop? A breathtaking, secluded waterfall—absolute paradise. We had the whole place to ourselves, swam in the crystal-clear pool, and even climbed up the boulders with Fabiola guiding us every step of the way. She also took amazing pictures for us so we could just soak in the experience. But the adventure didn’t stop there! We visited a second waterfall, where Fabiola shared stories about the indigenous history still present in the area, adding such a special layer to the experience. And to top it all off, on the way back, she was so thoughtful and dropped us off at our Airbnb, saving us an Uber ride. If you’re thinking about booking this tour—do it. You won’t regret it!
