We really enjoyed our experience at the Barrilito Rum Distillery! The history behind the distillery was fascinating, and it was especially meaningful hearing about the barrel they keep reserved for the hope of Puerto Rico one day becoming independent and being able to share it with the community. That detail alone made the tour feel very special and memorable. Our tour guide Erik was amazing — super engaging, funny, and welcoming from beginning to end. He did a great job making the tour both informative and entertaining, and you could tell he genuinely enjoyed what he does. The rum flight tasting at the end was immaculate lol and was the perfect way to finish the experience. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Puerto Rico!

We were picked up just across from the port. Completely stress free experience. Jesus is a very kind man and was pleasant to talk to. The tour was great, only four in the group. The guide was very knowledgeable & also pleasant. The young man did a great job! Lastly, try the pina colada! It was very good.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the distillery and learning about its history. Our driver and local tour guide, Jesus, was fantastic. Highly recommend this experience.
Overall positive experience. Driver was excellent. However, there are actually 2 tours. Heritage tour and Tasting tour. The Viator listing is only for the Heritage tour. The Tasting tour which would be the preferred tour and includes the Heritage tour. The Tasting tour is a few $ more. Our disappointment was there was no explanation that 2 tours existed. We learned of 2 tours when remaining group went to tasting room and we learned our tour did not included tasting. We missed out on the tasting which we would have preferred. Our driver arrived at pickup time. The Viator Listing should include Tasting tour as option or Tasting tour as separate tour. It was a disappointment not able to go to the rum tasting room.
We initially thought we were being booked on a Bacardi tour, however, after speaking with the travel company, we discovered that we were booked to go to Barrilito tour, she was very nice and highly and strongly recommended this tour over Bicardi. Boy was she right we had a private tour and mixology experience with Tim who was GREAT! a VERY enjoyable experience
We loved it. Our tour guide Margaret. Was the best. Left with buying 3 bottles. The distillery very nice and clean. ❤️
Loved the history, the family house is preserved in tact and you learn about the process of distilling and aging this excellent rum
Tour of original house was interesting but about 10 minutes. Tour of factory and barrel rooms was another 10 minutes. I suggest skipping the $80 tour (no tastings, just a drink included) and buy your own $14 drink which was very well done. Lots of choices and made with great ingredients. The $100 pp for transport and tour made it a bit of a better value but overall I suggest your own transport and have a cocktail at the bar.
This tour was very informative and the rum was delicious! Jesus was our driver and Valeria our guide, they made the experience!
Our driver picked us up on time and provided some good info on the way to the distillery. He also dropped us off at Santurce (rather than our hotel) on the return trip and gave us tips on viewing the murals. The bartender helped each of us choose the perfect drink for our welcome cocktail. He was an excellent mixologist and fun to watch him work. Our tour guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. We learned both about this distillery and the history of rum in Puerto Rico.
Had a great time and it was nice to have the transportation included. Had a good driver and the tour guides are great at the rum factory!
Personal tour with knowledgeable guide. Great rum and nice gift store. Fun experience in Puerto Rico.
Dennis was a great guide very knowledgeable we asked a bunch of questions and he had answers for every single one of them. Great tour will definitely recommend. Ask for Dennis
The tour was very short, but expensive for what it is. The driver Jesus was amazing! Great employees, the woman in the gift shop was super sweet and gave great advice on what to get :)
The driver to the tour was wonderful. He was engaging and answered many questions about his country. The history of the Barrilito company was interesting and we enjoyed our complimentary drink. Great tour guide. Well worth the time.
Great service and they were on time! Tour was fantastic and very informative. I would book through Viator again!
We had a fantastic tour with Mario and enjoyed an Old Fashion made with their 3-star Rum. Tour of the founder's home on the property, barrel room, bottling line. they were bottling while we were there. Intimate and exclusive VIP experience. Transportation was spot on and picked us up at the cruise ship dock, on time and well coordinated.
Great Experience. The Driver and the tour guide provided great information. The drinks were delicious too.
Great tour and delicious drinks! The best Pina Colada I have had in Puerto Rico! It’s a short tour (you spend about an hour there) but that was plenty of time. Glad we checked out this distillery instead of Bacardi. This is the oldest rum in Puerto Rico.
Very informative and historical tour! And the authentic pina coladas were a wonderful bonus! We were quite surprised at what lovely rum is produced in this relatively small factory.
Loved seeing the original house. Also seeing and smelling the aged barrels. Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable about the history and process
Jesus our driver was funny and knowledgeable about the area. Nice tour, covering all aspects of this smaller than I thought it would be operation.
Great tour and excellent rum. Go here, and skip Bacardi for the real Puerto Rican rum experience. When you go for your free drink at the bar (after the tasting tour) say hi to Antonio if he is there. He’s a great bartender and very knowledgeable!
