In the aged spirits world, the “angel’s share” is known as the small percentage of alcohol that evaporates inside a barrel as it ages. What the angels don’t take, it’s for all of us to enjoy! To celebrate, we’re sparing no expense in this tasting experience. You’ll get to taste it all. From the fruit notes of Dos Estrellas to our cult-classic Tres Estrellas. You’ll also sip Ron del Barrilito Cuatro Estrellas, a new blend available exclusively at Hacienda Santa Ana, and of course, the crown jewel: Cinco Estrellas. There’s no better opportunity to taste all of these world-class rums in a single tasting.

The experience was a 10/10 🔥. Started with the greetings at the check in desk, to the guided tour. I would highly recommend the taste tasting. It’s definitely worth the experience.
We loved it!! The staff was warm, friendly and very informative. The tour and tastings were all great. Small and intimate type setting. The drinks before and after really good.
One of the highlights of this family trip! It did feel a little short for the money (the tour part could have been more interesting/informative maybe?), but a fun tasting experience and the drinks at the bar before and after were delicious!
Absolute wonderful way to learn and taste the history of rum in Puerto Rico. So much history in a closet knit setting that you can feel the love they have for their rum.
First off, Puerto Rico is #1 on my bucket list. With that said a Rum Tour was definitely gonna happen. After reading several reviews The “Ron Del Barrilito” Tour and Mixology experience was top notch. Everyone in the Visitor center was Polite and Professional. After checking in we received our buzzer and went to the bar for our free drink. The host told us what drinks were included in the mixology experience (Old Fashion, Encanto Daiquiri and Pina Colada). At the Bar I got a Rum & Coke and my wife got a Lavender drink. We enjoyed our drinks inside and on the outside terrace. We also checked out the gift shop. When our scheduled tour time came around the buzzer went off and we joined Eric our tour guide. Eric is very well spoken and a true professional. The tour began with a visit to the home of the original owners on the estate. Great views and photo opportunities. Then onto the factory, a few views along the way and pho ops. The Factory is a small operation with High Quality Rum as a result. The Creation process is a secret recipe, but you see the Barrels and how they move from point to point in the creation process. You will experience the smells of the process. The 1952 Barrel has an amazing story. Lastly we followed up with the Mixology experience. No talent needed. Eric was an excellent instructor as he walked us through the three drinks. One by one, with clear instructions on everything that was used. The best part - Enjoying the drinks you made (full portions) no skimping here. A Truly wonderful experience full of laughter and your senses will be enlightened. We had so much rum and fun. We also ordered the Chips and Chicken w/ cilantro. Delicious. It paired well with the rum drinks. Before we left we took advantage of the buy to 3 Star bottles and get a bottle of Coquito. Oh and the bar will give you free samples of the rum if you ask. As we left in our Lyft, I truly appreciated the Ron Del Barrilito experience. It felt personal and full of the PR Rum Culture. This was an absolutely fantastic experience and will be a lasting memory for my wife and I. Thank you Eric, Thank you Ron Del Barrilito visitor staff. Highly recommend - 5 Stars all day. Oh did I mention, the Rum drinks are so delicious. Very smooth and the Best Pina Colada ever.
We had such a great time learning about the history, our host was amazing and very knowledgeable. The rum was delicious as well enough that we bought a bottle of the four star to take home.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable professional and amazing. We enjoyed it definitely recommend it
Had a fabulous time, Pedro was outstanding, knowledgeable and entertaining. Rum tasting was highlighted. Better informed now. Highly recommend.
First of all, the drinks at the bar are top notch! Our tour guide’s name was Rogelio and he was very informative. We really enjoyed the history tour and also we enjoyed the privilege of tasting the fine rums, especially the 4 and 5 stars. We loved the certificates too! We are going to keep them in our bar area at home. This was worthwhile. Also, the property itself is beautiful. I think it might save some money to buy this tour directly on the website of the distillery instead of through Viator because there really was no “line” to skip. But it was useful since I booked other tours on Viator so I kept track of things easier on the app.
Wonderful tour with Timmy. The rum tasting was great but I really enjoyed the behind the scenes look at how the rum is made and stored. Al’s quite rare that tours let you sample $750 bottles. Great experience.
We had a lovely and lucky private experience with Octavio. He answered all our questions and gave us a great experience to remember. The rum tasting was amazing and a truly memorable experience. Would recommend 100% and the giftshop is great especially the experience we had after purchasing the 4 star rum. Cocktails are also delicious. Thank you Octavio!!
The rum was delicious and the history of this company and the behind the scenes tour of the factory where it’s made and bottled is very special. The signature cocktails at the bar are excellent and the hand shaken pina colada is not to be missed!!
This was a great tour learning about the history of this San Juan family's distillery. It is no longer owned by the family, but the distillery has upheld their legacy. The tasting was also very informative. I really enjoyed the authentic experience this is.
Informative and interesting tour. Tasted 5 rums and saw the barrel room. Welcome cocktail included. Very beautiful space!
The tour was a lot of fun. Highly recommend! If you want to go I would definitely go don’t pass it up.
Very nice tour with knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide Marjorie. Learned a lot about the history of rum distillation in San Juan.
The tour of the grounds and factory was very informative. Octavio was a GREAT tour guide and patiently answered all of the questions we asked. He really knew his stuff! The cocktails were amazing. Expertly crafted by the mixologists, made us want more, so we had seconds! The tasting of the four types of rum was a great way to wrap up the tour. How else would you know what a $750 bottle of rum tastes like? We took the tour on the advice of a bartender and we’re glad we did. Happy to be fans of Ron de Barrilito. Worth a quick drive or Uber ride if you’re staying in San Juan. The place is fairly small and tours are done hourly in groups - you don’t need Skip the Line tickets. Just sign up for a tour directly on the Ron de Barrilito site and save a few bucks.
Our guide, Rogelio, was hospitable, energetic, and informational. The historical facts along the tour enhanced our experience. The tour is very brief, but the tasting was superb. This is a highly recommended expedition in Bayamón.
Such an interesting, fun, and unique experience! Our guide Dennis was so knowledgeable and accommodating and the rum was DELICIOUS. This was one of our favorite parts of our entire Puerto Rico trip and we were so grateful that we chose this over a larger/more corporate option. Would definitely recommend!
Good experience. Give my boy Rogelio his health benefits. Viva la Puerto Rico. That’s all I have to say but they make me put 100 characters.
Skip Bacardi and go straight to the good rum in Bayamón . Complete with a thoughtfully crafted cocktail, the rum tasting and distillery tour was an excellent choice to get out of the busy city to see the lovely estate in Bayamón. The guide was thorough and enticing, while still allowing us ample time to ask question and walk around. Suffice to say, we never felt dragged around or missing out on any information due to the smaller tour size. The proceeding rum tasting was of great value and I left excited to say I’ve tasted all their rums from 2-5 star ages.
This was a fun experience. The tour is interesting and our guide explained tbe history of the company and the family along with how the rum is produced. The tasting was great. If you love rum, you will enjoy this. The tasting includes the good stuff. Between tis tour and the one at the other place (Bacardi), pick this one.
We did an afternoon tour. We were able to have a private tour. The free entry drink was very good and a great presentation.
High end experience similar to distillery tours in the states. Would definitely recommend. Good value between the tastings and complimentary drink from the bar. Nice place to enjoy drinks and a cigar on their back patio.
We learned facts about the rum and tasted the different “stars.” The bar and tasting area were upscale and our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.
Great tour - good sized group. Really interesting & informative. Beautiful terrace for pre tour cocktail. Rum tasting was great too! 😍
Great tour with a lot of history and a nice sampling at the end. Wasn't too long, about an hour, so we enjoyed ourselves a lot.
Knowledgeable guide but not cost effective. Mentioned the gift shop 4-5 times. Was disappointed we had to buy a full bottle or wanted a small sampler to purchase. Very expensive and would have appreciated a charcuterie to absorb some of the alcohol.
This was the best rum tour. So glad we picked it. Timmy was incredible and made it so much fun. I would definitely recommend it.
Very informative loved it. Pedro was superb very knowledgeable and professional. Definitely recommend. The bartender made this Pina colada which was out of this world. I have never in my life tasted such a drink like this. Can't forget the shop guy thank you so much great kind man. Amazing staff keep up the great work.
The best Rum I ever tasted. In an elite class with your top self whiskeys, bourbons and cognacs. The up close and personal tour of the family history the facilities where the process happen was amazing. The tasting tour allow you to be a part of history. Marjorie was a exceptional tour guide, her energy and her personal dedication stamps the tour with 100% Authenticity!
Loved how intimate and informative the tour was. It was amazing to get to tour the house and bottling area and learn all about the rum making process. Our tour guide, Coco was so kind and funny. She truly made it a memorable experience.
I took my mom on this tour and the rideshare out of San Juan was well worth it! The grounds were beautiful, the tour guides were knowledgeable and warm, and I learned a ton about rum. The tasting was excellent - I was blown away by how delicious and complex the rum they make can get. This is a must do activity!
My second trip to Rondel Barilitio. This time I did the mixology. It was fantastic. Plus the rum is really good! I would recommend this tour to anybody.
Amazing guide excellent costumer services very good. Coral was super good, good drinks, I will recommend it 100%
Tim was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable about the history and the rum. Highly recommend. The cocktail at the end was icing on the cake.
Amazing tour with Valeria! She explained everything and answered all of our questions! We will definitely recommend this tour to all of our friends or people that will come to visit Puerto Rico!
Paid for the 2 hour tour and rum tasting for 90 dollars per person. The tour consisted of looking at a tree, seeing the tanks outdoors which anyone can see, a bottling room with nothing happening and a look at the barrel room. Zero experience in the actual process of making rum. Saw nothing on that which is why we went. The tasting consisted of a very light and inconsistent pour per person. The rum was good, the guide was very upbeat but for the 90 dollars it was absolutely not worth it. If you want to learn how rum is made skip this tour.
After reading recent reviews of another rum distillery in Puerto Rico, I did a bit of googling and found out about Ron del Barrillito. As those reviews said, this tasting tour is nice and intimate; we were a group of 10. Our tour guide was very informative, fun, and welcomed questions. The history of the distillery is quite interesting, and it was neat to see the different parts of the distillery and taste their unique rums. The 4 and 5 star are excellent, but the 3 star is very nice as well. Their rums have a bit of a different flavor, being done in a style like Cognac, but are great sipping rums. If you aren't a fan of big crowds and want a fun, unique rum distillery tour with great rums to taste, this one is worth it.
Incredible tour experience! Our tour guide Marjorie was so kind and funny and she was very knowledgeable about the distillery and its history. We learned a lot about the history of the distillery and got to see the entire operation. The welcome cocktail was so delicious that we came back to the bar for more cocktails after the tour!! Our bar tender was also so kind and helpful. The rum tasting at the end was awesome, 10/10 recommend.

Our tour guide Timmy was Fantastic, very friendly and informative, genuinely great guy, made the experience a lasting memory, i would recommend this tour to everyone and ask for Timmy when you get there he’s GREAT
Fantastic tour of the small batch rum distillery. We would absolutely recommend this one and will definitely do it again if in the area. The tour was an hour and the tasting was great! Lots of details that should be a surprise, and they left us very happy!
Although the tour was short, our guide Timmy was very knowledgeable and answered all the group's questions. He was very insightful and funny at the rum tasting.
This is the best rum-tasting and mixology tour in Puerto Rico. The location is outside San Juan, but it is worth the trip. The staff and tour guides are professional and knowledgeable and treat each guest respectfully. Our guide was Valeria, and she took the time to explain the history of the Ron del Barrilito hacienda, how the rum is made and stored. The mixology course was informative and fun. We made three delicious drinks: an old fashion. The En Canto and the traditional Pina Colada. Do not leave Puerto Rico until you take this tour and do the mixology course. It is terrific.
This is a pretty good value as you get a welcome drink, and then during the tour you get a tasting of their 4 rums. I would recommend.
We had a great time on the tour. Our guide Pedro was very informative and nice. The facilities are impressive and the rum tastes outstanding. The bartenders who made the rum-based cocktail samples there were excellent and we loved their drinks. Our visit to the distillery was definitely a highlight of our week in Puerto Rico.
Such a great experience! Octavio was our tour guide, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about all things rum (Ron de Barrilito and otherwise!). We had a small group, and Octavio took time for all of our questions. We had originally planned to go to Bacardí until one of our bartenders here served us Ron de Barrilito, and we were so glad we switched - this is a much smaller operation, but it’s the oldest rum maker in Puerto Rico, and was family owned for most of its history. We really enjoyed trying the four and five star versions, which can only be purchased here or at the airport. Highly recommend a visit!
Had we not paid $90 (incl tax) for this hour-long tour, I might have been a little more generous with my rating of 3 blobs. Overall, the tour felt somewhat rushed and perfunctory with no visit to the distillery itself, only a distant view of the barrel store. As such, you don't get to smell the celebrated aromas that are, by repute, an unforgettable memory of such an atmospheric space. The way I justified such expenditure to myself when I booked was the opportunity to try the 4 and 5 star editions which could easily cost $50 a shot in a bar. However, whilst highly commendable, if I am honest, I would say I have tasted better for less and so felt somewhat overcharged for the experience. On the up-side, the 'complimentary' cocktails were truly a work of art and delivered the best pina colada I had the whole time on Puerto Rico. If you arrive with little time to enjoy your cocktail, order it at the end so you can watch the skill and artistry of the highly talented mixologists.
