Puerto Rico Hiking And Waterfall Private Excursion!

Was not what was advertised/expected. After reading previous reviews and seeing photos, I felt confident booking this tour for me, my husband, and teen sons. There are pictures of young children, older adults and even someone holding a baby. I thought that we would be safe. What began as a normal muddy hiking trail turned into through a treacherous “trail” to a muddy raging river and waterfall where we were unable to swim due to the currents. Yes, I expected mud but did not expect to be climbing on large, slick rocks next to a RAGING river which was in no way safe. My husband and I both fell at different points in the hike. He was unharmed but when I slipped on a rock, I hit my head on another large rock. Not a pleasant experience and definitely do not want another family making this same mistake. We wasted our one day in port on our cruise on this excursion and the evening was spent in the medical center on the ship receiving care. HAD we been told upfront the conditions of the waterfall and trails, we would have happily chosen to go to the beach. Our main concern with this excursion is everyone’s safety as ours was put at risk and it could’ve been so much worse. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable about history and plants. He did take pictures of us and the car was nice and clean. He did make a stop by a local area to get some food on the way back to port but we were rushed to eat in the car with the windows down as we were approaching our 4 hour tour time limit. Please learn from our experience and always ask how the conditions are before you spend the time hiking only to realize that it’s completely unsafe. Obviously, they will not cancel for unsafe conditions.

Harold was a fantastic guide. Challenging trail but H has I down pat and my wife who recently had knee surgery was in good hands. We had a great time on this tour and Garold was a big part of that great time. The waterfall and cool waters at the end of the trail was worth it. We had a Perfect day in Puerto Rico., truly magical

Highly recommend! My husband and I with our 2 kids (11 and 14) had the best time. So glad we did this rather than the busy rainforest tours. Harold was the best guide- super friendly and so knowledgeable. We wore our bathing suits under our clothes. Do not wear sneakers you care about as there is A LOT of mud. We packed water shoes for swimming and the waterfall. No need for bug spray which surprised me but we all good. You are dry by the time you head back to the car so we didn't end up needing a change of clothes. Amazing views and we stopped at a local road side BBQ for chicken skewers and empanadas. 10 out of 10. The terraine is a little rough so wouldn't recommend if you have bad knees.

We’re in PR for spring break and wanted a day away from our resort to see more of Puerto Rico. PRGT helped us plan a trip to hike a waterfall, tour a huge cave, and end with a later lunch with local fare by the beach. The entire excursion was more than our family could have imagined. Harold is an extremely knowledgeable guide, sharing historical facts and showing us beaches and food stalls that we never would have known about or visited. Harold was especially kind with our kids (3 & 6yo) and made sure the tour stops and travel times were suitable for their needs. This tour had it all, from the water, to the views. The meal at the beginning of the tour was delicious and amazing. The walk to the waterfall was a little rocky, but easy and manageable. Our tour guide, Harold, gave our group of 6 plenty of rest stops to catch up. Walking through the jungle was so worth it, the waterfall was refreshing and gorgeous. Mr. Harold packed us waters and fruit, to eat at the waterfall which was a fun surprise! We were also allowed to climb the water fall, and Mr. Harold took many pictures. Harold was very friendly and thoroughly explained all the areas of PR, (history, plants, etc) he brought great positive energy to the trip and we all learned something new. We all had a wonderful time and would recommend.

Harold picked us up from our cruise in a very classy SUV to go on a rainforest tour my sister had booked for my birthday. I did not want to ride in a car and go hiking though. So instead he quickly organized a separate tour for me including sights of the city, an authentic Puerto Rican lunch location, and the best live history lesson I could have asked for. It was perfect. I will not stop raving about about how wonderful our day was. He even took photos of us at all our stops and sent them. I can't believe he could just switch his entire tour plans to accommodate all my requests. It was amazing and I couldn't have had a better day. Thanks again Harold!

Will recommend if you want to know the history of old San Juan and get around Maritza Villanueva Gave me and the family a good tour and showed us around took us hiking also to see waterfalls I will use them again when I come back thanks again Puerto Rico Green Transportation

We took the private tour to rainforest with Harold! If you want an exclusive tour with no chance of running into other tour groups... Then this tour is for you. Off the beaten path. It's also a less strenuous tour. Path is less intense physically. Harold is very laid back and will change things just a bit to fit your needs. We were able to swim, jump off a smaller clift, climb a waterfall, learn about plants, and he prepared fresh fruit for snack! Whichever tour you choose with this company we highly recommend asking for Harold!

Harold, our driver, was exceptional in every way! He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and gave us more than we expected! The very clean van was perfect for our family of 10! Highly recommended! You will not be disappointed!

We used Puerto Rico Green Transportation to transport my group of high school teens from Old San Juan to our next place in Fajardo with the El Yunque tour along the way. Gabriel (Gabo) was such a great driver and guide and met the energy level of my group of high school seniors. The hiking and waterfall were so memorable as well as visiting the kiosks in Luquillo and having the best guide. He played music during the journey my group was singing to, took photos for us, and made everyone smile. I highly recommend using Puerto Rico Green Transportation

We had a wonderful tour with Harry as our tour guide. We loved our hike through the rainforest and swimming at the waterfall. Harry made the tour exceptional, he was knowledgeable about things we were seeing while driving and the plants and animals in the rainforest. I'm thrilled that we opted for the private tour to El Yunque. Our driver and guide, Harold, a true local with a great personality, won us all over with his warmth and knowledge. Without him, our experiences would have been far less memorable. The hiking and swimming proved to be just challenging enough for my kids, and it was truly refreshing to witness them engage their senses in nature instead of constantly gazing at their phones. Harold's expertise extended beyond just navigating the trails; he also served as an excellent teacher, imparting knowledge about language, culture, and the environment. The educational value he brought to both kids and adults was tremendous. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the region.

We went on a cruise last week and we really wanted to go on a tour of the rainforest in Puerto Rico. On a group site, Puerto Rico Green Transportation came highly recommended. We decided to book a private tour with 4 of us through them. It was me and my husband, plus my sister and her husband on the tour. Our tour guide Harold was amazing. We loved how he was pointing out exquisite things and taking the time to explain plants and wildlife. He always had our safety first and that was very important to us, being beginners. The view of the waterfall was breathtaking and brought out a lot of emotions for me especially the fact that I was able to do the hike myself as a 56-year-old woman. I wasn’t sure I would be able to accomplish this. The waterfall area and pools of water to swim in was refreshing and beautiful!! Harold even provided a wonderful snack of fruit for energy on the hike back and plenty of water as we needed it. We then went to the top of the mountains to see the city, which was absolutely gorgeous. He then took us to get food from a family that sells authentic food which was absolutely delicious and extremely affordable. If we are ever in Puerto Rico again, we will definitely book another tour through this company. I highly recommend them. My only suggestion to the company is when someone is booking their tour to be very explanatory on what the tour does entail. So that people can be prepared with clothing and proper shoes, and in general just know what to expect. For beginners it was a little bit of a struggle at times but as I said earlier, the tour guide was always there making sure we were OK and putting our safety first.

We had a wonderful tour with our guide Harold. We saw wildlife, beautiful views and swam in an amazing pool with a waterfall. Harold was great at telling us all about the plants and birds and helped the kids do all kinds of things. Lunch after is a must. We loved our tour so much we did a second tour on the Lechón highway with Harold and it was amazing as well! So much great food!
