This tour was absolutely amazing. I would recommend it to anyone and would definitely do it again. And if you’re lucky enough to have Jose as your guide, consider yourself fortunate — he is truly a gem of a human being. He’s down-to-earth, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history, culture, and significance of everything you’re seeing. At the Indian Cave, Jose gave us a fascinating history lesson while explaining the petroglyphs. It was so interesting that people from other groups who were nearby actually stopped to listen, and some even tipped him afterward. That alone says a lot. The places we visited were all beautiful and unique. We saw bats at Window Cave, explored petroglyphs, and had plenty of opportunities to take really cool photos. We then went into the humid forest where we learned about local plants, walked through the water, and saw waterfalls. Lunch was absolutely delicious — honestly the best food I ate during my entire three weeks in Puerto Rico. After that, we visited the Indian Cave reservoir, which was breathtakingly beautiful and full of history. Overall: 10/10 tour experience. One of the best adventure tours I’ve ever done, largely because Jose made it so memorable, but also because every place we visited was truly incredible. Highly recommend.

Itinerary
Discover the beauty of Cueva Ventana in Arecibo. This iconic limestone cave, perched on a cliff, offers a spectacular view of the Rio Grande de Arecibo valley through its famous "window." The adventure begins with a hike through a lush tropical forest, where you’ll encounter diverse plant life and experience the serenity of Puerto Rico’s natural landscape. Inside the cave, you’ll explore its fascinating features, including ancient Taíno petroglyphs carvings left by Puerto Rico's indigenous people, offering a glimpse into the island's rich pre-Columbian history. As you make your way through the cave’s chambers, you'll also learn about the difference type of bats and there ecosystem. Your expert guide will share insights about the cave’s ecological significance. The tour culminates at the famous "window," where you’ll be rewarded with a stunning panoramic view of the valley below, a moment perfect for capturing memories. This is a moderated hike, not extreme.
Cool down and enjoy our hidden waterfalls while river trekking into one of the karstic zone canyons. Once we complete a 15-minute hike through the water and beautiful rock formations, we will reach one of the most impressive waterfalls in the northern region. Once there, you will be able to swim, go under the waterfalls, and do some cliff jumping (all optional at the second waterfall). You will get wet and enter the water up to chest level (we provide life jackets). Important: If the weather does not make it safe for us to enter the water, we will go to a natural spring instead.

Wonderful day exploring Cueva Ventana and waterfalls. Overall the tour exceeded my expectations. Joseph was a terrific guide- very personable, fun and engaging with a lot of great information about Puerto Rico. Highly recommended.
It's one of the best day we had here. Super fun. Worth it! Jose is our tour guide and he is fantastic at his job. Keep the mood fun and interesting all the time. Taking care of us really well.
What a fantastic excursion! Jose was kind and knowledgeable. He made it a great experience! I highly recommend this excursion. Tennis shoes are a must for the hikes. Have fun and enjoy the beautiful sites of Puerto Rico!
Our guide was amazing. He deserves 150% rating of this trip. We couldn’t hike waterfall due to rain and concern of flood and instructions on type of clothes required and shoes required was not very clear in the trip. I would not pay this much for this trip.
10/10 experience! I went on the Cueva Ventana and Waterfall Adventure in Arecibo, Puerto Rico with my family, and it was truly unforgettable. From start to finish, our guide Jose was incredibly attentive, informative, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and included, especially since we're not swimmers. He guided us safely through every part of the tour and went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable for all of us. Jose didn’t just guide us he also became our photographer, capturing amazing memories along the way. His knowledge of the area and warm personality made the whole day even more special. I’d recommend this tour to anyone. Whether you're adventurous or just want to soak in Puerto Rico’s natural beauty, this tour has something for everyone. Can’t recommend it enough!
Wow, when I tell you that my partner &’ I enjoyed our entire tour ! Gabriel (Gabo) was an amazing tour guide. He is really passionate about really showing the true side of Puerto Rico ! It was a great experience. He really went out of his way to make this experience everything. He is very cautious with all his guest. He gave use important details about Puerto Rico. He really made us feel comfortable throughout the whole tour. He really made us connect with the Islands nature. Overall experience 10/10. I would really recommend to everyone ! Especially with Gabo !
Can not stop talking to other family and friends about this experience! Our tour guide Jose was amazing and well educated about the history of Tianos. Learn so much and happy to share this. Must book!!!
Great experience loved every thing about this tour, our tour guide was amazing he knew a lot about the area and history. He actually took us to and additional part due to the rain the previous night which was amazing as well. I would definitely recommend doing this tour it’s not a lot of hiking but make sure you have some coordination and balance.
This tour was excellent! The guide at the cave (Danny) was very knowledgable. The main attraction is the window but the other parts of the caves were great too, especially the bats, birds and petroglyphics. The hikes to and from the cave were not too strenuous.
this experience is a MUST! Enrique was the best guide ever, he is a great photographer too ;) . Tips before you book. WEAR SNEAKERS and bring water shoes, sunscreen etc. You are outside walking a lot. I wouldn’t change this tour for the world. GREAT PRICE. great people. great views. 10/10 would recommend
Our tour guide Jose for excellent. The first adventure was Cueva Ventana. The view after a short hike through two caves was amazing. Our tour guide had special flashlight and offered to take family pictures. This part of hike needs good sneakers for hiking. The next part of the tour was a visit to the waterfalls. It’s a very small hike to the waterfalls. You will be hiking in waist high water and will require swimming. We had one person in our group who did not know swimming and Jose eagerly helped us get to the other side. A good water shoe is preferred for this hike. The next stop was lunch (vegetarian options available). The last stop was the beach with hikes on the caves. This last stop has breathtaking views. Recommend hiking shoes for this part of the tour. Jose passionately shared the history of Puerto Rico at this location. Overall, a great tour. Highly recommend this tour.
Wonderful experience for the entire family. The hike up isn’t too strenuous and definitely worth the effort to get to the caves. The waterfalls were amazing and you can relax or jump off rocks and go under the waterfall. Jose was a friendly and informative guide. Fantastic day of adventure!
We had a wonderful day. The cave was not anything extraordinary, but they did a good job of explaining the formations, finding the little critters and making it interesting. The river part of the trip was really fun, rock hopping along the river, and through the creek and swimming under the waterfall/dam. And despite the rain, we also enjoyed the walk along the rocky beach. But what made the day so good, was our guide, Jose. Definitely ask for him. By the end of the day, he felt like our best friend. There was one ladies who was struggling a bit, and he was so helpful, patient and caring with her. Definitely the best guide I have ever had.
Enrique was extremely accommodating. We stayed in Camuy and we were able to meet the van to ride together. We went to Cueva Ventana which was awesome, you need to see this window cave, so surreal! We then went to some waterfalls on the Tanama river. Enrique kept us safe and made sure we had an awesome time! He dropped us at our vehicle and gave us a ton of good info and spots to check out! We will be back and will try to catch him as a guide again!!
We had an unforgettable adventure with Joseph on our cave and river tour! From start to finish, he made the experience both exciting and educational. His knowledge of the caves, the local history, and the unique rock formations was impressive, and he shared fascinating stories that brought the landscape to life. The river portion of the tour was just as incredible—peaceful, scenic, and full of breathtaking views. Whether you're an adventure seeker or just looking for a relaxing day in nature, this tour has it all. Joseph’s passion for what he does really shines through, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a top-notch tour with a friendly and knowledgeable guide, this is it! Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Wear shoes that aren't slippery because the tour was fun but you have to be careful where you walk. They have changing tents so you are free to bring extra clothes. The overall experience was fun and would do it again.
We visited unique and hidden nature spots, where locals go but most tours don't. Amazing views, and a great tour by Jose and Cruz.
This is an excellent trip with an opportunity for wonderful pictures! We had the best driver/guide - Gabriel!
This was perhaps one of the very best tours of such kind. I really admire the owner of the tour company (cruz) who was kind, patient and helpful beyond the ordinary aspects. The lead tour guide Enrique is exceptional. It was clear he was trying to offer best experiences rather than just show the items. He patiently explained everything and was even eager to take picture of each family one by one at key spots The second tour guide Cruz was also vey nice and kept us engaged thoughtout with many questions and trivia.
I absolutely loved my tour! I was so tired by the end but it shows how much activity we had. We ended up doing even more than I expected. The tour guide was a sweetheart, patient and attentive to everyone’s needs and requests. I did this solo and not once did I feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Thank you again for all the adjustments and help!
