Lots of walking but had frequent breaks. Melanie was an excellent tour guide and provided lots of information in English and Spanish.
An incredible walking tour experience, perfectly balancing deep historical insight with stunning coastal views. Expert Guide: The tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, bringing the 16th-century history of Old San Juan and Castillo San Felipe del Morro to life with fascinating stories and context. Important Note: Due to local power reliability issues, certain areas or exhibits may occasionally be closed during blackouts. It is definitely a good idea to check current conditions before heading out! Atmosphere: Even with a few closures, walking the historic streets and exploring the majestic fort remains a five-star experience.
Our tour guide was amazing. She was so sweet and so knowledgeable. She was interactive with us. It was fun!! She does an amazing job. She knows her Puertorican history!!! Best experience ever!
Very informative tour. Antonio provided a wealth of information on the history and architecture of Old San Juan. He tried his best to keep is moving in the shade, provided water and went at an acceptable pace for a family pushing a stroller on cobblestone. Sneakers, sunscreen and a hat are helpful!
Melanie was delightful. Great bang for the buck.
We had such a wonderful time exploring Old San Juan on this walking tour. The fascinating history made the experience truly memorable and our guide was highly knowledgeable. It was the perfect way to get to know the city. Highly recommend.
Melanie was fabulous very passionate and knowledgeable about the entire country not just the area. walked alot but didn't seem bad because we were always learning something. Thank You well worth the time and money
Very informative tour. Melanie is so knowledgeable and helpful. I did this on my last morning in Puerto Rico, because I didn’t want to leave without seeing some historical sites. So glad I did!
Our tour guide was the Best! So informative enthusiastic! Learned so much about my husband’s heritage that he didn't even know. Melanie was the Best guide very professional did such a great job! Thank you highly recommend
The tour is entirely a walking tour, meaning no hopping on/off buses or anything like that from the time you arrive at your starting point with the tour guide. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes as well as being water to stay hydrated. There are some points during the tour where you will be waking on a few inclines so be mindful of that if you have mobility or balance issues. Our tour guide, Melanie, via Patria Tours, was AMAZING! We had a small tour group which was great to be able to interact with each other and learn the history of Old San Juan. She has a wonderful, friendly, personality which helps the group stay engaged while learning the rich history of the island. We had plenty of time to stop to take pictures along the way. I highly recommend her as a tour guide. Thank you, Melanie for a wonderful experience. 🥰🇵🇷
Had a wonderful tour with Antonio! He was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Excellent and knowledgeable Guide. He had a lot of knowledge about the culture and history of San Juan. He was also very cognizant of the physical condition of the attendees. It was very hot and humid and he made sure that we were comfortable.

Except for the heatwave, it was an awesome experience! Our guide, Melanie, is passionate/knowledgeable about PR history/culture. My granddaughters and I learned alot and appreciated all we saw on this tour. Gracias :)
Melanie was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and made the experience fun!
Melanie was absolutely incredible! Full of knowledge and so much passion. Super fun and respectful!
Definitely wear good water shoes and a bathing suit. I wish I had also worn a rash guard type shirt and board shorts. You will leave your belongings on the bus so be prepared. Our guides Orlando, Xiani and Brian were fantastic. They helped get over difficult areas and did a great job of keeping the group safe and together. They even took pictures and videos. My friend and I are in our 50s. It was a rigorous hike/climb, but totally worth it! Definitely recommend!
Great tour! Antonio was our tour guide and you can tell he’s so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of this city.
Excellent tour! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Puerto Rico’s history and culture. My son was visiting Puerto Rico to connect with his roots, and this experience gave him a meaningful sense of connection to his motherland. It was a wonderful and memorable experience that we will cherish for years to come.
This was a great way to explore old town San Juan. Our tour guide - Antonio was so knowledgeable about the history and the architecture of the city. We felt that we truly learned a lot about Puerto Rico. Would recommend 10/10.
The tour guide was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and worked to try and keep people out of the hot sun throughout the tour. There was a lot of walking, so good walking shoes really be worn.
Melanie was a fantastic guide. She was super enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. It was very hot and she made sure to give us plenty of breaks in the shade. We learned so much about Puerto Rican history.
Very informative and great guide who in passionate about her home land. Really over hearing about the cobblestone and how they where made.
Our guide was exceptional and made the tour really interesting. You could tell she loves her home island!
I enjoyed the tour a lot. Our guide was knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable through out the experience. We stopped in the shade frequently and took breaks for hydration. (Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring water. Put on a hat/sun screen as the tour is outside in the sun most of the time.)
Roberto was an excellent guide. The route was relaxed and entertaining. Communication before the tour was clear and thorough. Highly recommended!
Learned a lot about the history of the old city of San Juan and got good walking exercise !
Excellent tour, the guide Roberto, vey professional and kind. I highly recommend him.
Roberto was a very good guide. He was friendly and knowledgeable.
This was very lovely. Beautiful scenery and the guide was spectacular. Funny and informative. Old San Quan is so beautiful. I would absolutely do this again!
Antonio did a wonderful job explaining the history behind the major historical monuments. This is a must do for anyone looking to learn about the history of PR.
Very cool place, however, be advised while it should allow military entrance free it won't if your sponsor is not present. This was a girl's trip, and I am a retiree's spouse with appropriate id that they would not accept. Crazy!!
Adrian was the name of our tour guide. He was knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting and fun. Def recommend doing walking tour.
The tour guide was excellent and a good storyteller
Went on the 9am walking tour with Melany. It was a day that the temp was over 100°F and I have a disability and use a cane so I was very worried I would not be able to complete it. The first thing Melany said was we will make sure everyone stays hydrated and we will go at a pace for everyone and she truly did. She made sure we only walked in the shade, she allowed us to go buy water whenever we needed, and she walked at a pace that I was able to complete the entire tour. Not only this but when we got to El Morro my gf had a slight allergic reaction that lead to hives due to the heat and Melany went and got us hydrocortisone lotion from the Park Rangers. Now about the tour itself, it was brilliant. Melany has a wealth of knowledge about the island and about Old San Juan. I learned so much and loved every minute of it. She is truly a proud Boriqua and it showed in how passionately she spoke about her people and her Island. I highly recommend the tour.
We had a great time walking through Old San Juan and learning about the history of the town. Our tour guide was awesome, I would really tell she loves her job and loves Puerto Rico it shows in her passion and how she loves to share it with others.
This tour was so amazing! Our tour guide Melanie, was phenomenal. She gave such interesting information about Old Town San Juan as well as the Puerto Rican culture. Is was fairly hot and humid on the day of our tour and she took such good care of us by finding g shade whenever possible, and giving us water along the way. We ended at Castillo San Felipe del Morro where she gave us some final information as well as restaurant recommendations before letting us go to explore the fort more.
Our guide Melanie was so kind and welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable about San Juan, Puerto Rican history! We felt like we understood the city and the culture more fully after this amazing tour! Highly recommend this experience for families!
Melanie was a wonderful guide! Very knowledgeable and funny. I learned so much about the history of Puerto Rico! Great pace and a wonderful introduction to the city in our first day. I highly recommend this tour!
Melanie was fantastic and very passionate about Puerto Rico and how wonderful this island is. She is very professional, kind and efficient. She always made sure that we stay hydrated and stayed in as much shade as possible. This was definitely a good family trip.
Melanie led our tour and did an amazing job presenting some of the history of OSJ. She was lively and engaging. She made sure to stop in shady spots when she could and the pace never felt rushed. We ended the tour with a visit to Morro castle which was incredible to experience.
The tour guide was wonderful. She was very passionate about her country and loved to teach PR history. Unfortunately, we went on on extreme heat warning day. BUT, she said we will stop in the shade when talking and stay hydrated. She had a good pace during the walk.
We had a wonderful tour with Melanie exploring San Juan. She was such an excellent tour guide- animated, funny, and full of amazing history and stories of old San Juan. Highly recommend her tours!! 👍👍👍
Good simple walking tour of Old Town San Juan. Thought we were going to do most of El Morro together, but we got in and it was self- paced in the Fort afterwards. Overall, good tour!
Great walking tour of Old San Juan. There was very interesting information given and very informative. Water was even provided to make sure we were all hydrated and safe. The blue bricks was something I did not know about until this tour and it made me research more once I arrived home. This is the tour to pick.
Nice informative tour. Reasonable walking distance. Starting point is different from end point.
Antonio was very knowledgeable.
Wonderful experience, recommend starting at the top and going down hill!
Antonio was extraordinary and excellent. Can’t say enough about him. You have a great guide in him. Gem.
