Our guide Zu, was highly knowledgeable about Puerto Rican food and culture . She also was mindful of our dietary restriction, and gave us equally tasty options!. It was just our group for the tour, we had a delightful couple hours enjoying the old city.

Fun and informative. Tried a few different places. Food and coffee were delicious. Pablo, our guide, was great.
I would recommend anyone visiting San Juan to take this tour asap. So much information is given and helps to give a better idea of the history that produced such a beautiful culture, food and city. Lorna was an incredible host and we highly recommend this experience. The food was very flavorful and we went back to one of the restaurants a few days later
Wow! In terms of knowledge and enthusiasm and interpersonal skills, our guide, Lorna really raised the bar! The food and coffee and cocktails included were also top notch. I particularly appreciated the accommodation of my no-pork
Lorna was more than wonderful! She had a deep knowledge of her beautiful home and shared the Puerto Rican history and culture with us. Food was great, stories were told well, and the overall experience was beyond what we expected.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He checked in for questions and kept us moving without feeling rushed. The food and drink selected was excellent. Would heartily recommend
Lorna was very knowledgeable, fun and took great care of. Great tour and sampled some wonderful traditional food and beverages.
We are so happy with our tour. Our tour guide, Gia, was knowledgeable, friendly, and warm. She talked about the origins of certain foods and some historical context. We also got lucky because our group was small (five people) that morning and made the tour more personable. Loved that the tour included tastings at family-owned businesses which are not prominently listed in social media. These types of establishments are what we look for when we travel. This tour by Spoon is a must do!
Such a great experience! Learned a lot about history and ate great food! I would highly recommend booking this!
The food and drinks were excellent! Gia was a great tour guide - knowledgeable, friendly and thoughtful. My wife and I brought our 11 month old on the group tour and she went out of her way to make sure we were accommodated. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting PR!
Had an AMAZING time on the Old San Juan morning tour! Lorna was the best guide EVER! We learned so much about the history of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and we had delicious food and tastings at 5 different local family owned locations! Everything was so delicious and we got a good sampling of Puerto Rican cuisine. BOOK this tour or any tour with Spoon. You will have the time of your life! Arrive with empty stomachs because you will be full at the end 💕 I would definitely do a tour with them again. Thank you!!!
This Old San Juan food tour was amazing. A great mix of unbelievable food with some culture and history mixed in. Niko was an excellent guide! Highly recommend.
Omg Nico was amazing!!!! We absolutely loved her! She was a great tour guide and very informative! We didn’t want the tour to end! Every one needs a NICO!
Come hungry. You’re not just getting small samples. Food was paired nicely with drinks and Zu was a great storyteller
This food tour was such a great experience! Our guide Zu was extremely knowledgeable about the history of San Juan and PR. The way the history tied into the food was "chef's kiss" perftect. Our group was about 8 or 9 people and made up of a mix of couples and families. So it was easy to move from one place to the next. The piraqua during the middle and the mofongo at the end were standouts for me.
This tour is a must! We have been to Puerto Rico many times and we still learned so much from Lorna, ate great food, had delicious drinks and saw some beautiful sights.
Great tour with lots of history and plentiful portions of local cuisine to taste. Get Zu as your guide as she was excellent and kept the pace while being attentive to the whole group.
Great walking tour of Old San Juan with stops at several restaurants for tasting and cocktails. Our young tour guide, Gia, was very energetic and knowledgeable and I swear she probably knows every shop and restaurant owner in San Juan! The food and cocktails were excellent and the history that Gia shared gave context to what we were seeing and tasting. Highly recommended this tour!
Pablo was absolutely amazing!! His love and enthusiasm towards the rich history of the island and food was fantastic. Highly recommend this tour. You don't be disappointed!
What a great experience. Our guide Niko was engaged, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We enjoyed great food and beverages. The local food tour encapsulated within the history of old San Juan was a true experience. I highly recommend this for anyone visiting Puerto Rico.
Run, don’t walk to sign up for this morning walking tour. Call first and make sure to ask for Elliot. He proudly shares the Puerto Rican culture and history along with personal stories - you won’t want your time to end. Each place along the tour was ready for us and made us feel like VIPs instead of just tourists. Elliot was respectful of each place and the staff, it was obvious they enjoy working with him. There was the perfect portion of food at each stop with a beverage and enough walking between each stop that you never feel stuffed, but you are satisfied. I have a coconut allergy and one person did not drink alcohol, and each place accommodated those needs effortlessly. I highly recommend this tour. Wear comfortable shoes and ensure your phone is charged, there a lots of local scenery you’ll want to take pictures of. Water and restaurants are available at every stop.
We booked through royal caribbean. It’s called Sites & Bites. Our tour guide Elliott was awesome. He made the experience personal and made us feel warmly welcomed while learning along the way. Incredible value in terms of food/drink as well!
Best way to try local delights and specialities. Lorna our guide was fabulous and full of history about San Juan and PR. A great way to start a trip here on island. Our tour lasted 3.5 hours.
Great trip. Our guide Pablo was informative, and enjoyable…… no issues whatsoever. We received drinks and food, all local and all excellent Would book this again.
Our guide had very deep knowledge of local food culture and history! The food was delicious, of course, but the breadth and depth of knowledge was extremely good as well.
Lorna, our guide was spectacular. Knowledgeable about Puerto Rican food history and culture. So gracious and hospitable. She took great care of each and every person on the tour. Highly recommend Lorna and Spoon.
Lorna was fabulous! She was knowledgeable about Puerto Rican food, culture and history. She took great care of the whole group. Highly recommend this tour and Lorna!
Zu was very informative and told us slot of great history about old san jusn. Every food and drink option was excellent!
We had an amazing time on the morning food walking tour in old San Juan. Elliott, our guide was very knowledgeable about Puerto Rican culture, its history and of course its food. We strolled through beautiful old San Juan and made multiple stops along the way for delicious food and drinks. If you love food and history this is your tour.
You get plenty of good and drinks. The guide was amazing-Elio, who knew so much about Old San Juan. He shared a lot of good history about Puerto Rico and the area.
Our guide was Gía, a vivacious and enthusiastic local who taught us some history and culture while introducing us to a wonderful variety of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. She was very organized so that everything flowed smoothly, despite us being a group of about 15. The time flew by and we found ourselves wishing the experience was longer!
Plenty of great tasting food. Niko was amazing and full of energy. If you are lucky enough to have her as you guide, you’ll be laughing through the whole tour.
We look for the smaller experiences with fewer than 20 people. We were on a Celebrity Beyond cruise that stopped off in Old San Juan this month. What an amazing tour! Pablo was probably the best guide we have had in all of our world travels. He was so knowledgeable and personable. His humor and history were the perfect combination. We were so enthralled with the tour that we barely took any photos as we were just so in the moment with him. If your cruise offer the small group, food, culture, and cocktails tour with The Spoon Experience, BOOK IT. If they don't, book it directly with Pablo and the gang.
It requires some walking on cobblestone and narrow sidewalks but not very taxing. It's a great easy to learn about the history of the city. The food and drinks were generous and satisfying. Our guide was fun, upbeat and very knowledgeable.
I believe we made four stops, and at each were offered a beverage and food(s), plus lots of interesting history about the city, the food and the culture
It was a great trip very informational! A lot of walking to have the right shoes on also I️ would’ve wanted more samples from places and less of a meal at each place but it was amazing our tour guide was super nice and helpful ! amazing tour would definitely do it again !
Our tour guide Gia was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Touring the city was beautiful and it was a lot of fun learning the culture and tasting the food. I would highly recommend all to do this.
Lorna was the best tour guide! She got to know all of her guests and made the tour feel so personalized to each of us. She was extremely knowledgeable and fun! I highly recommend her!
Pablo was a wonderful story teller who shared so many fascinating stories about the history of San Juan and it's food. The food was plentiful and tasty. Highly recommend.
Wiki Pablo was Excellent!! So much information, facts…etc! Very knowledgeable!! Fun Personality!! And … a nice sampling of Puerto Rican food. Thank You for this excellent experience!!
Plenty of delicious food and a terrific history of San Juan and Puerto Rico. Our tour guide Lorna was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about history. We were able to ask anything. We loved the focus on family businesses.
Great tour in old San Juan visiting local family run restaurants learning about Puerto Rican history and food culture. Our guide Lorna was excellent: attentive, knowledgeable and totally charming.
Incredible way to experience Old San Juan! Lorna was funny and knowledgeable and made it an excellent experience in spite of the warm weather! Cannot recommend this tour enough, especially at the start of a trip to Old San Juan.
this tour was SO informative and the food/drinks were delicious. I would recommend going your first day in San Juan because you can get a layout of the city and learn all about the architecture and history.
Wiki Pablo was amazing. He is passionate about the history and culture of San Juan, Puerto Rico, coffee and food. He was a dynamic tour guide and excited to answer questions. He was great at adapting our tour to our questions and avoiding rain showers. He even gave up his umbrella to other guests with a genuine smile. . Highly recommend wiki Pablo from spoon
I can't say enough good things about Pablo and this tour. There is really is no question about food and the history of Puerto Rico that he can't answer. He's also animated and hilarious and is super-careful to keep us in the shade. One of the best tours I've ever done.
It was an exceptional tour thanks to our tour guide. The restaurants were terrific but Gia added the most value with her narratives about San Juan. Turns out she has a degree in history and is also an accomplished pianist which is saying a lot for someone in her early 20’s. Paired with enthusiasm and a deep sense of pride for her country, she did a super job of sharing the history of San Juan. Gia is also a self-proclaimed footy, so she knew the ins & out of the restaurants we visited, all carefully selected to give us a true taste of the city. Speaking of food, all 4 restaurants were exceptional and we had a difficult time choosing the best, although I opted for gnocchi. If you’re stopping in San Juan, definitely check this small but efficiently run company. And, ask for Gia.
Elliott was an excellent guide. He is thorough, knowable and funny. This tour had plenty to eat and drink with all kinds of samples. Elliott guided us around the streets of Old San Juan with great stories and history.
Elliot was a fantastic guide! He had wonderful knowledge, was very personable and made the experience individual to everyone in the group. The food was excellent and more than sufficient - we needed to walk after the tour to work off all the food we ate, and the beverages were fantastic!
This was a great way to start my day in Old San Juan - Pablo is an exceptional guide who knows so much and loves sharing the history of his island and its food. There is poetry in the way he talks about it. I’m a vegetarian and there weren’t any hiccups in getting food (Puerto Rican food is pretty meat heavy). Highly recommended
