Very good tour with lots of beautiful scenery and wildlife! The horses were well-behaved (minus a few attempts to steal a snack along the route 😉) and I felt very safe. I love that they allow sections of trotting as most other horseback tours I've been on only allow you to plod along at a snail's pace. Not this one! I recommend pants or long shorts so you don't chafe after such a long ride, but it was very fun!

Amazing experience with Angel and Champagne. Angel was so knowledgeable and helpful. The scenery was beautiful.
Grace was outstanding, very good guide, very informative and helpful. I will recommend her to everyone I talk to. The best
Horse back riding was a great experience first time and will definitely do it again the horses was friendly n calm and the instructor was awesome I would definitely recommend
Helpful and patient staff, made everything better and smooth
Our guide was very sweet and patient. He made sure everyone was comfortable with their horses and made sure to keep us informed and safe.
I had great experience once I got over being nervous. I would definitely do it again just next time I’ll choose a shorter ride.
Very enjoyable! It was fun getting to ride a horse for the first time, and horses have a wide variety of personalities so it was fun seeing how our horses differed from each other on the ride. I would recommend to pack bug spray and to wear long pants for this experience! Other than that it was great and I would recommend this to anyone.
Me and my family booked the 2 hour ride and it was amazing the view was so beautiful and we experienced scenes where movies were produced the horses was easy to handle some People in our group it was their first time riding and they enjoyed anytime we come back we will be sure to book again thanks for the amazing experience and our tour guide was the best he was very detailed and patient with us
The best activity in San Juan! Tons of history and things to look at, not a lot of waiting around and fantastic food and drinks at the Mojito Bar after. Our guide, Anya, was sweet and informative and fun!
Our tour guide Ian was wonderful! It was such a great experience to ride these gentle animals. Get ready for trotting and just know you might lose your sunglasses or phone along the way. So please make sure you secure them properly. So glad I did this with my daughter for her 21st birthday!
Went with family including 2 teens 14 and 16 years old. Perfect first time experience horseback riding . There property itself is beautiful ! Mojito bar is the best after the tour for drinks and food I had a mojito , it was great !
Booked an one hour horseback riding session. It was really nice . We had Grace as a tour guide and she was very friendly and helpful . Would recommend. She was kind enough to take pictures for us on our phone .
Amazing tour guides, the male tour guide is the best one there. So sweet so understanding and patient with his team. Best experiences ever
It was a great time and my daughter enjoyed it.
We had an amazing time on the horse ride! The guides gave clear instructions, the scenery was beautiful, and the horses were wonderful. However, I have to take a star off for safety regarding the shuttle driver. The woman driving us to the stables hit every speed bump at full speed. Those sitting in the back were bouncing dramatically(ME), and I ended up with a deep bruise on my calf where the metal frame pinched my leg during a hard impact. It was night and day compared to our driver on the way back, who navigated the bumps carefully. It’s a huge safety hazard someone could easily be thrown from the vehicle. Please train all drivers to slow down on the path! If I could attach a picture to the review I would
It was great. Our tour guide was very kind and passionate about each one of us. Was an awesome experience.
It was a good tour. Loved the horses. I was a little nervous at first but i eventually warmed up to the horse back riding and my daughter loved riding the horse for the first time
Really fun and worth it. Most of the time you’re walking with the horse so don’t expect a lot of running. They run only for a little bit, depending on the group you are with. If the group is scared and doesn’t like running then not a lot of running. It’s still fun though to walk around with the horse in that area, it’s very scenic. You get to see alligators, dears, chicken, mango trees, snakes and lizards.
The address provided sent us to a beauty parlor in a strip mall. When we called, as asked for additional directions, we were told that we should have used Google Maps to get to the right address. So we asked if we could be booked for the next class, that was denied and we were told that no refund would be issued.
Angel was our tour guide and he did a fantastic job. He explained the horses and points of interest on the tour. He made us feel at ease and we had a great time. We would highly recommend!!!
It was hot and sunny but there were shady areas. Be prepared to be out in the sun. The horses were tame and well trained. Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.
This was such a great experience, especially for first timers. If you’re first timer, I would suggest taking a one hour class instead of the two hour we learned a lot, not just about horses, but about other things on the farm you will not be disappointed.
Super fun. Malibu is such a joy to ride. Very well trained! Knew the trails and knew when to trott. **Wear long pants and long sleeve shirt! The fleas will eat you up!!**
We had such a fun time on our trail ride. Our guide took great care of us and showed us around the hacienda. Will come back next time for the ATVs
The instructor was very helpful and knowledgeable of the horse. A wonderful experience that I’ll remember for years to come.
Anya was very knowledgeable and caring. This was my first time horseback riding. We saw giant iguanas. Parrot, emus, little goats and more. What an incredible experience!
We would highly recommend this trail ride as well as our guides Angel and Kevin. It was really one of the best trail rides we have ever been on, and we have been on quite a few in the US. Angel and Kevin were both friendly and Angel shared nature facts with us as we road. They both cared about our comfort levels and were excellent guides!
We had one of the best trail rides ever, and we have done many up and down the east coast of the US. Our leader, Angel, was very friendly, helpful, and a lot of fun! He pointed out a lot of interesting facts about surrounding nature as well as answered all of our questions! The 2nd guide Kevin was very friendly and helpful too. Horses were great and we had a great two hours! Highly recommend this place!
Get ready for a workout! And Bring bug spray. The tour was very extensive and interactive, my horse Napolean was a character!
Great experience with a very informative guide!!!
Well worth the money. Good for everyone. Now I am just typing. For no reason other than to put in characters.
Anya was absolutely fantastic. She met everyone’s comfort level - meaning I let my horse graze while my daughter cantered - at the end of the ride. She was knowledgeable and funny and so kind. We loved her. The whole experience was great; it’s such a beautiful property!
Loved the guide Isabella. My saddle was very uncomfortable though. My poor horse endured me shifting around for 2 hours. I was also at the back of 4 and couldn't hear a thing. That info is very important to me so I was disappointed. Beautiful place though.
Excellent. Other than the sand fleas. Make sure you wear pants lol.
It was our first time riding a horse with my son and nephew, and we had an amazing experience. We took the 2-hour tour with Champagne and our tour guide, who was wonderful. We loved the beautiful scenery and learning interesting information about the area. We would definitely book again
This was so much fun as a family. Our 2 hour leader, Phantom, was enthusiastic and gave us a lot of nature and local information along the ride. I enjoyed the fact that we were given opportunities to trot the horses and not just walk slowly along. Also, a variety of terrains made it enjoyable.
Literally no experience is needed for this excursion. The horses are well trained and the instructors give you all of the cliff notes on what to do to ride and guide your horse. My legs were like jello and ankles were sore afterwards but so worth the experience!
They are rude. First when you get there they make you wait without telling you what to do or who’s coming to get you. The wait requirement is 240 and they have small horses. Now I’ve done other horse back riding 250 is the cut off. They are so strict and so nasty at this place it’s ridiculous. Needless to say due the weight my 6’4 spouse was 8lbs over and they wouldn’t let him ride. Not would they refund the money. Mind you if you look at him they should have mentioned something before hand but with all the 30+ signs they have they expect you to see one line at the bottom that says 240lbs. I would not recommend this place, even the clerk stated how slow the horse riding is hopefully this just skipped the head ache. If your looking for a good place try the rainforest location it has speed and bigger horses!!
Had a great time! My horse’s name is Illusion. She was beautiful and well behaved. Grace was my tour guide. Marjorie and Anya had tours as well. They were all great and experienced!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Great experience. Beautiful horseback ride, fun lesson, great time, perfect for family fun outdoors.
Great experience from start to finish! The horses are well cared for and clearly loved, which made the whole ride even more enjoyable. The scenery is absolutely beautiful the place itself is peaceful, well maintained, and perfect for relaxing and connecting with nature. The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. Overall, a memorable experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something unique and enjoyable.
had a great experience. I have been here before to do the ATVs and we had a great time, but this is our second time returning to ride the horses and it was a overall pleasant experience. The instructor was very kind and patient as well as very educational about the compound had a great time with my family will recommend.
My family of 8 (ages 8 to 73) went on the 2-hr horseback trail ride as Hacienda Campo Rico in March 2026. It rained the entire time, but, we still had a great time. Our total ride had 10 people, 2 guides (Angel & Anya). The guides were knowledgeable of the property, history, and Paso Fino horse breed. Angel & Anya did a great job catering to our unique needs. They gave opportunities for the more experienced horse riders to trot with speed in open fields while less confident riders gave their horses a chance to snack on grass. My 8 year old became scared of the Caimans (little alligators) after seeing a warning sign near a lake and began crying on her horse mid- ride. Angel quickly circled back to investigate what was wrong and comforted her by telling her that he would protector her while on the ride! Even though it rained during our ride, we still had a great time and enjoyed touring the property.
The fact that it was POURING DOWN RAINING & they refuse to give a refund nor reschedule is such poor business… the woman talking otp was beyond rude firstly who would want to ride a horse in pouring rain so never again will i come here
I booked this tour for my daughter and myself, she's been riding for years. There were 8 people in our tour and 1 instructor. I could not tell you if the guide pointed anything out because I was all the way at the back. We did have a fun time. The tour felt more like a stroll, it was relaxing and peaceful. The only sad part of the tour was a young girl from the family with us was injured by the thorns on a bush. I suggest that these bushes be trimmed back to avoid further injury.
Enjoy the “Flat Walk” on these lovely Pasa Fino horses. Angel was a fabulous guide. Attentive and supportive for the non riders. Loved my mount Galen, sassy and strong willed who listened to me and kept me safe. Experienced English or Western riders will love this very different riding experience.
So this was my first time horseback riding and while it became enjoyable over time it was stressful in the beginning but thats just a given. The horse I was assigned to (cruella) although seemed irritated, and enough to try to brush me off the side by getting close to trees and other objects multiple times regardless of me directing her away strongly. Just an fyi be careful ! Tour guide was funny and helpful.
Wow.. not entirely sure where to begin. This tour was definitely once in a life time. From the educational aspects of our extremely knowledgeable tour guide Aurora (excuse me if I’m spelling wrong), to the vast and beautiful animal species of the land, this trek was everything and more. If you’re new to HBR (horseback riding), the staff/team really make you feel safe/confident, and in no time you’ll be feeling like a pro! If you love nature, deepening your OVERSTANDING of the world around you—and within, then book this HBR tour neowwww! ALSO by you booking, you get to help make sure that ALL the horses get their daily exercise.. which helps keeps them healthy and strong, so it’s a win-win. Anyway with love, -bday gurl <3
My daughter and I went on the 2 hour horseback riding tour. We had a lot of fun and our tour guide was GREAT. My daughter is 13 and a trained rider but I haven’t ridden a horse in over 20 years. The horses are well trained but it is a rough ride. It’s up and down steep hills, through large puddles and creeks, and on the straightaways they jog the horses. If you think you can do it though, it’s quite the experience!
