Half-day Tour: El Yunque, Waterslides, And Luquillo Beach

Malcolm was the best tour guide! He made sure we were extra cautious and safe since we had a 12 year old in our group. We went down two natural water slides, he made sure to get good pictures and videos for us, and it was overall a great time! Would definitely do this again.

We didn’t have a lot of time in Puerto Rico due to our cruise’s afternoon departure, but this tour into the rain forest with a stop at the Luquillo beach for lunch and splashing in the ocean was a perfect short adventure. Our tour guide Malcolm was a Puerto Rico native. Our group of 7 adults had our own private tour. Malcolm accommodated our group’s various physical abilities and helped everyone have a great, safe experience at the waterfalls.

Malcolm was amazing! Our tour of El Yunque and Luquillo Beach was so much fun. Malcolm was very friendly, caring and attentive. He made sure we had helmets and safety vests when and if needed. He did a great job in showing us a nice time and also made sure we got pictures and videos for our memories. Pick up and drop off was on time and in a nice and cold vehicle where we were comfortable. I would 100% recommend this tour especially if Malcolm is going to be your guide.

Malcolm was an amazing host and made sure that all of us had a great, safe time. We had a blast on the waterslide and a great time at the beach. He pointed out the very best pinches and drinks at the beach as well.

Malcolm was amazing! He was very accommodating and knowledgeable! He had fresh fruited cut for us after the tour, he made sure we had helmets, and life jackets if needed. He took photos and videos for us, which was awesome! Overall, we would absolutely do this tour again!

Malcolm was amazing! I highly recommend this tour! He was knowledgeable and helpful,& had all the necessary equipment for the trip. I was a little nervous at first bc I took my daughter (10), and my dad (67) and wasn’t sure if they would be able to the walk. Rest assure they did find and Malcolm made sure that everyone was ok at all times. It was so much fun I def recc and will do it again!

Malcolm was the best guide I have ever had in my life. I don’t usually pay for tours, but touring with Malcolm was the best decision I ever made. He treated us like family and gave us so many good recommendations and made sure we were taken care of. If I could, I’d have Malcolm give me a tour around the whole island. This tour was so worth it and made my whole entire trip. If you want to see the rainforest you HAVE to book with Malcolm!

Malcolm our guide was amazing. He was very informative, helpful throughout the journey in Yunque. Definitely recommend some good water shoes to walk the trails. No shoes on the rocks because it does get slippery. This is not for weak. Some physical strength is a must but our guide was very helpful to help you up from some complicated inclines. Recommend to give this try. Test your abilities and the reward will be well worth it

This was extremely fun, one of the best experiences ever. Malcolm, our tour guide, has been the best tour guide I've had the pleasure of having. We were picked up (and dropped off) in an air conditioned vehicle, greeted very warmly by Malcolm, and joined by the rest of our group. Then, made a stop at a spot for food, souvenirs, restrooms, before heading to El Yunque. We were offered life jackets and helmets for safety down the water slides where we were instructed how to go down. The guide was very attentive and even took photos and videos of each of us. After being there for a while we went to Luquillo where we given a tour of the kiosks, recommended some food and stayed at the beach for a while where we were able to get on a jet ski! After we were done, our guide even dropped us off at another beach we wanted to try out! Excellent tour and excellent tour guide, completely recommend everyone to do this tour!

Malcolm is very personable! We felt completely safe and he guided us through the whole tour!! We had the best time! He even recommended places to eat that were absolutely delicious! 12/10 for this tour from all of us!!

We are a group of 9. 4 adults and 5 kids. We have a great time. The tours wasn’t too short or too long. Malcolm was so friendly and accommodating. He also was on time and communicated with us prior to the tour. I would highly recommend Malcolm as a guide.

Malcolm was an outstanding guide! He and his adult daughter (they both drove because we needed two vehicles to accommodate our group) were so friendly and informative throughout the trip! I am 56 years and about 166 lbs. I am in ok shape. But Malcom made me feel old and decrepit. He allowed my younger friend to participate in the natural water slide and jumping off rocks.. But he wouldn’t even discuss with me to be part of the tour. I signed up for the tour. I wanted to do the full tour. He did lead me down a hill, but I didn’t request it. I thought it was kindness, but because I excepted the help. Did he think I was incapable? No where on the tour description did it say extremely dangerous and need to be in perfect health. I am still very disappointed. This was a total waste of time.

Malcolm was excellent. Got us to the water slides in between large groups so we could enjoy them. Also, very consider of the path conditions making sure we all stayed safe on muddy and water rocks.

Malcolm was a great tour guide! He worked with our cruise ship port schedule and made sure we had time to explore both the rainforest and Luquillo. He is very knowledgeable and gave us a great deal of information along the tour. Los kioskos are fun; try all the food! Our group was six people and Malcolm communicated clearly and effectively. I read reviews about Malcom but I needed to experience it for myself. Everything that everyone said is the truth. Malcom is an awesome tour guide. He help me to maneuver through the hikes, I’m not a swimmer but I did everything that everyone one else did. I climbed the rocks and i am 64 the only thing that I didn’t do is the water slide and jump. I was still able to get in the water and take pictures of the family jumping. Off the cliffs and slides. I was right there with them and Malcom was everything. Give that man a raise. He gave us some delicious Mango. Thank you sooo much when I come back I’ll see you again 😘

Malcolm was absolutely wonderful. He communicated with us prior to the excursion and answered my questions. He was also super helpful walking to the waterfalls on the slippery rocks. He gave us information for safety and was helpful to others around us. There is a small hike to the waterfalls that is rocky and a little slippery and has a moderate decline to get to the water. The water was refreshing. The rocks are very slippery to get to the waterslides, make sure you bring a pair of socks, that worked much better then bare feet, sneakers or water shoes. The beach was beautiful, and there was food options avaialble. Great experience and very thankful for Malcolm.

Very nice guy but the word: “ tour” is a reach. We met him and he took us 5 minutes of the road to the river. The “ tour” was only he showing us a banana tree ( we are hispanic) then we took photos on the river, back to the road, then we got in our car and follow him for a few minutes where the beach was, he pointed where we should eat and then left.

We had a wonderful trip with Malcolm today! He is courteous and knowledgeable. He gave us great detail about local communities and suggestions for other places to visit and eat. He even helped us tremendously at the waterslides! I highly recommend him!

Malcolm was an awesome tour guide. He picked me up right on time and even dropped me off right at my airbnb (after I told him that visitor made me pick a nearby hotel for pickup/ drop off). Malcolm was super helpful in helping us navigating some of the slippery rocks and terrain. He also gave great advice on how to climb up to the water slide. Safety was his #1 priority and although I was nervous it felt completely safe the entire time. He also made sure everyone got some great pictures! We got to spend a good time at El Yunque and at Luquillo Beach! Highly recommend if you want a half day day trip and you don’t want to “hike” a lot.

Very easy pickup from cruise port. Malcolm was an excellent and personable guide. Born and raised in PR, he shared plenty of local knowledge and insider information about the island. Made sure we were comfortable and frequently checked in to ensure we didn’t have to go to the bathroom or need anything. Took us to a beautiful waterfall in the El Yunque forest where we enjoyed some natural waterslides and cliff jumping. It was plenty scary at times with slippery rocks and strong currents so being nimble and courageous is a must. For those who aren’t as risk-tolerant, there are natural pools and great views you can relax in and enjoy. The next stop was Luquillo Beach. Weather went sour on us so spent most of the time off the rainy beach and instead enjoyed some local cuisine at the ‘kioskos’. Some great souvenir shops are also mixed in. The beach was very open and not very crowded. We ported on the day of the San Sebastián festival, so many tourists may have been busy preparing for that or recovering from festivities the night prior. I’m sure the weather also influenced the turnout. Overall, a great trip and very reasonably priced. Look forward to the next time I’m in PR! Thanks, Malcolm.

This was a great experience! Malcolm picked us up on time at our hotel, we picked up the other group and then we were on our way. It was a short hike to the first natural water slide. Malcolm was great in pointing out the best path to take and navigating the way. It had rained the 2 days prior (it’s a rainforest!) so the path was a little muddy. The waterfall area was very pretty and it was so refreshing in the water! Afterwards we hiked to the second area that had a larger lagoon and a smaller natural water slide. After our hike, Malcolm offered cut up fruit - mango, star fruit and water bottles. Then we went to Luquillo Beach which was wonderful! It’s a soft sand beach with crystal clear water!! There was an area for food, drinks and souvenirs. There was also a vendor on the beach selling refreshments. It was a lovely day! I highly recommend Malcolm! He was kind, helpful and very engaging!

Tour guide communication was good and he picked up on time. I did enjoy it was a small group- only 5 of us. This does NOT go into the rainforest. Just a trip to the water slides and beach. I was surprised how dangerous the walk to and from the water slides was - there were no stairs and the rocks very slippery. I did not do the water slides but my son did and loved it! We got there pretty early so no other tour group but as we were leaving a group of 20 arrived! Trip to beach was fine - one of the calmer on the island. Was said to be lots of shopping and restaurants but only one store - mostly bars.

This was a great experience, and I really enjoyed myself. Malcolm was friendly, informative, funny and kind. As a solo traveler, it’s always great to have a guide who works to make everyone feel included and this was absolutely the case. Loved that it was a small group, also. Highly recommend!

Reasonably priced for getting hotel pick up and drop off, and Malcolm being a tour guide topped it off - he was personable, friendly and thoughtful while he teaches you about the culture. Plus, we get to experience the beach and forest. I recommend bringing a pair of clothes to change into, crocs and sunscreen and bug spray - got bit multiple times by mosquitos.

This was a fantastic excursion! Martin was an amazing guide! We loved the water falls and the kiosks! The hike was very short. More so just walking into the rainforest. I over prepared for this. The water is fast, but just follow Martin’s guidance and you’ll be great!

Amazing excursion. Malcom gave us a VIP experience with personalized travel, getting us to the sites with no waits for adventure, and even serving us Mango from his personal garden as a surprise treat. Best excursion by far that we have ever done!
