Had a blast on this tour. Big thank you to Laura for showing me around the island. I learned so much from her plus she’s a very fun person to be around which made this tour feel like a friends’ roadtrip. We stopped at so many beautiful spots and she took the best pictures of me! I highly recommend you book this tour.

*not open on Mondays/ Tuesdays* One of the most significant pre-Columbian archaeological sites in the Caribbean. Discovered in 1975 after Tropical Storm Eloise exposed ancient pottery and artifacts, the site offers a glimpse into the complex cultures that inhabited Puerto Rico centuries before the conquest and colonization of Spain.
Visit and learn about the second biggest city in Puerto Rico, Ponce as we drive around the colorful streets. Once in the small town square, guests will enjoy free time to explore on their own. In the plaza, you will be able to admire historical buildings like the Parque de Bombas, City Hall, Banco Popular Building, Melia Hotel. This is the first stop for bathroom, snacks, coffee, and shopping.
Yauco, the coffee city of Puerto Rico. Explore the plaza and the colorful steep streets of Yauco. Learn about the history of the once fruitful coffee industry in Puerto Rico. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the town square. Guests will have a chance to take photos at the most colorful sites: Plaza Pablo El Negro and Yaucromatic.
Step into the history of San Germán, one of Puerto Rico’s oldest and most historically significant towns, where centuries of history can still be experienced through its streets, architecture, and landmarks. We begin in the town square, taking time to walk through the historic center and appreciate the architecture of this charming town. As we explore, your guide will share stories about San Germán’s origins, its role in the development of Puerto Rico, and the people and communities that shaped its history. Our visit includes Porta Coeli, one of the most recognizable historic landmarks in San Germán and one of the oldest surviving churches in Puerto Rico. We’ll learn about its religious and architectural significance and the important role it has played in the history of the town. At the Museo de la Farmacia, you'll learn the history of medicine and pharmacy in Puerto Rico, where historic objects offer a glimpse into how traditional remedies evolved on the island.

Due to a rescheduling we had to do the tour on January 1., so unfortunately the Taino ceremonial center was closed, but our tour guide Laura planned a more customised experience four us. It was in general a nice and long day 12hours) a little bit too much driving and little time at certain locations but we see at least a lot from the southwest part of the island.
Our tour with Laura from Sofrito Tours LLC was the highlight of our vacation. The Southwestern Puerto Rican tour is a must-do. The Southwestern Puerto Rican Tour was hands down the best experience of our entire trip. If you are looking for an authentic taste of Puerto Rico, look no further than Sofrito Tours LLC. We saw a side of the island many travelers miss—from the beauty of the ocean to the rich history of the cities. Laura is knowledgeable, kind, and clearly passionate about her culture. We felt the true warmth of the Puerto Rican people thanks to her. 10/10! Our guide, Laura, was absolutely incredible. She didn't just show us the sites; she curated an experience that touched on everything: the breathtaking beauty of nature, the vibrant local culture, and the stunning ocean views. We explored charming cities and felt the genuine hospitality of the local people at every stop. We had an amazing time with Sofrito Tours LLC on their Southwestern tour. Laura is the best tour guide we’ve ever had! She showed us the perfect mix of nature, culture, and city life. The hospitality of the locals was heartwarming, and the scenery was postcard-perfect. Laura really looked after us and made the day special. Highly recommend.
If you want to get to know the island outside of the tourist spots, without having to rent a car and maneuver the different driving style in PR, all the while learning about PR directly from a local - this is the tour for you!!! This is one of the best excursions I have done hands down, with beautiful sights and meeting great people. I left PR feeling like I actually got to see and know the island. Highly recommend!
The experience with Sofrito Tours was exactly what I was looking for during my stay in beautiful Puerto Rico! Exploring beyond San Juan, we discovered amazing natural and historical gems, with breathtaking drives through the mountains from one stunning landscape to another. Laura was the perfect guide: knowledgeable, attentive, and always making sure we got the most out of the day, even when the sun wasn’t shining. Highly recommended!
Jan Carlo was outstanding . He really nailed the road trip vibe that we were hoping for and it felt like we were traveling around with a close friend that we had known for years. He tailored our trip to meet our own interests and we feel like we made a friend for life! We would definitely go on a sofrito tour again!
Laura was great. It ended up being just me and my two teens on the tour, and she catered our tour to what we were interested in seeing. She was very knowledgeable and I am confident she could/would cater to the desires of any other group and their interests. We definitely saw things we would not have found on our own and she also gave us tons of great information for our remaining time in Puerto Rico.
The whole trip was great and the snorkeling was amazing! Also the included food and drinks were great.
Jan Carlo was an amazing guide and the trip was perfect. I learned a lot about the island and never felt like I was in a bunch of “touristy” places. Jan Carlo went the extra mile to ensure we had a great time. He was knowledgeable and talked just the right amount! I would definitely book another tour with this company.
Laura was wonderful. We saw Ponce, Yauco, Adjuntas, Salt flats, San German, Cabo Rojo, and went to Buye Beach. She was wonderful to talk with the enter trip. Highly recommend!
Wanted to start off by saying jancarlo was an amazing tour guide we got to see beautiful sights of the island great art and structures and learn a little more on the history of PR would highly recommend he made this experience awesome.
We had a great time! The tour guy Miguel was wonderful. We recommend it. The group that was with us were very nice.
I originally booked the Pa la Isla Southwest tour but due to some schedule changes, ended up taking the Full Day Ponce, Yauco, Caracoles Cay & La Parguera Bio Bay Tour instead (an upgrade, score!) Laura is incredibly knowledgeable about Puerto Rican history and culture, and made sure to point out different towns and facts during the hour-long drive to Ponce. Once in Ponce, we had some time on our own to explore the main square and grab some coffee/ice cream before heading to the Cay. We made a few pit stops along the way for pictures in beautiful towns like Yauco and then picked up dinner for the boat. Caracoles Cay had beautiful crystal clear water and was a great way to see the sunset before heading into the bioluminescent bay. The conditions were great, so the water really lit up and we got some great photos! Highly recommend Sofrito Tours, the experience was phenomenal!!
I like to post reviews when a tour has far exceeded my expectations, however, for this tour I feel compelled to express my abject disappointment. I was defrauded about what to expect on the trip. My family and I went on the trip but only one activity was as advertised. All others were shortened considerably or did not occur at all. If anyone at Sofrito tours sees this review I would appreciate someone contacting me. After several calls, emails, and text messages no one has responded.
Amazing and fun trip . Have the opportunity to take Lots of picture , breathtaking views. Laura, was very professional and attentive. Definitely will book with sofrito tours again.

We had a great time! Laura and Carlos were kind and accommodating. This was a small group tour so it was a laid back atmosphere. Laura provided interesting information while we were sightseeing and there was ample opportunity to enjoy the places we stopped to see.
I can’t thank Laura and Carlos enough for this amazing day! Couldn’t have asked for anything better. They are super accommodating and take care of smallest of things. This is a perfect day trip for anyone. I travelled solo, but this felt like traveling with a bunch of friends. They made me feel super comfortable, very professional yet so personally involved. Don’t think twice, these guys will make sure you have a great time. 100% recommend.
This is by far the best tour I been on!!! Laura and Carlos where the best!! Sofrito Tours was great! I got to see places I never saw, outside of all tourists area! I would highly recommend! Next time i come to puerto rico I'm definitely booking with Sofitro tours again!! The hospitality was amazing! Many other places to go see!!
This full day trip was amazing. Laura took us from San Juan to: Ponce with its Iguanas, fountains, street food, shopping, and history. Yauco with its street art, beautiful views, and Instagram ready city square. A secluded beach (Jaboncillo) that we had nearly all to ourselves. Salinas Cabo Roho salt flats. Boquerón for local color and Pride. Buyé beach where we watched the sun set and finally dinner on the water before finally bringing us back to San Juan. It was a whirlwind trip and worth every penny. She got us fresh local fruit from the farmers market that we snacked on all day and offered an insider’s view for an off the beaten path unique tour. Worth. It.
