Very unique experience for the family. The natural water slides and pool are worth the trip. Our guide Diego was great.

This was a beautiful experience and my kids favorite. Diego picked us up from Carolina at our hotel and we went to EL YOUNQUE. We got to rope jump, slide down natural waterfalls and jump off cliffs. I would say this trip is best for kids on the older sides with no fear of heights. You are climbing kinda tough terrain and need to rock climb in certain areas. Diego and Nelson made sure we were safe the whole way through. Wear sneakers you don’t care about they will get muddy. Have fun and enjoy the empanadas at the end.
Tristan was such an amazing tour guy for our trip threw El Yunque Rainforest. We had such an amazing time! Definitely highlight of our vacation an experience, we will never forget! The views you will get to see are nothing less than stunning!! My favorite thing was sliding down the water slide !!! The rush you get was unforgettable!! You get to see waterfalls as well !! For the amount money it's a no brainer !! I thought they should actually have charged more !! They offer pick up & drop off services right from your resort!! Tristan was a really cool dude too !! He really mad our experience so much better !!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I will give a disclaimer. I like to hike and history. The tour is neither. This is not a hike, with history and going to a waterfall and hiking some more. The tour is going to a waterfall, a water slide that is dangerous without giving you full details of what you are about to encounter. once you hit the water there is a whirl pool effect and the water takes you back in under the water fall. Whether you swim or not you need a life vest. The entrance is in the back of the state parl. So if you are looking for a hike through the rainforest this is not the tour. Of you are looking to jump off a cliff into the water this is the tour for you. Dress comfortably, not cute, a lot of mud, a lot of mud, wear a life vest regardless.
We had such a wonderful day with Nelson. He was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. He took us to an amazing local spot for breakfast beforehand. It was rainy that day, but he made sure that we were able to complete the tour and took tons of videos and pictures! We had a great time!
Charlie our tour guy is amazing he did a fantastic job of showing us around very kind sweet guy😇 he is a rockstar!
Nelson was a great guide. We did fine on this short hike. However dont take older or less stable people. The trails are muddy and slippery. For us, it was fun swimming. Nelson took us to a cool local spot for food and drink.
The tour guide (Charlie) was absolutely amazing. However, the company REALLY falsely advertised! This is NOT a "family-friendly" hike. We brought pur 5 year old and my husband had to stay at the first location because this hike was SERIOUSLY for ages 8 and over! We had to carry him on out backs, the guide had to assist also, my husband fell down the mud hill and sprained his knee. Just a heads up, the majority of us had a great time but we HAD to leave people behind.
Cluster was very helpful, friendly and super supportive. He was always making sure we are okay and safe. Hands down one of the best guide we’ve ever met in PR! Next time we come back, we will request him again.
Our tour guide Fransisco made it an amazing adventure.. his knowledge of everything was great. I would 100% recommend this tour with him!!
This trip was epic. I can’t believe we got a personal guide for less than the price of the big tour groups. It’s definitely a challenging hike at times and you go through water so be sure to have good hiking sandals. If you need help, the guide was very helpful whenever there was a challenging or slippery part. There were many other families there so it’s definitely doable for all, you just might be sore the next day. If you love an adventure this is the trip for you! We also got to learn about many of the local plants and animals.
It was great! The whole trip was fun and challenging. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to PR.
It was all memorable, but we most enjoyed the jumps from the cliff. Cluster and Patricia were very friendly and helpful.
Rafael was great! We had another tour cancel due to weather and booked this last minute. We had such a fun day on rock water slides and climbing around rocks beside the river. Our guide Rafael was so knowledgeable about PR and the rainforest and made the tour interesting and fun both adults and kids. Highly recommend! We saw other groups who had up to 30 people and that would not be the same experience.
The hike was great, just moderate enough so that it kept you on your toes. Rafael was a great guide. He was full of information. Was helpful on the harder parts of the trail. And he encouraged everyone to try new things like the water slides and rope swing. The hotel pickup was a great bonus! Thanks again for having us !
Great trip for the adventurous. All of the other groups we saw were larger groups. Our group only had 15 people ranging in age from 5-70. Some of the activities can be modified for the less adventurous but everyone has to climb rocks, jump off rocks into water and go down natural waterfalls. Our group was the only group that did cliff jumps (20-40 ft high). Ian, our guide, is a very gifted cliff jumper and very familiar with El Yunque. My only negative was the time it took to do all of the pickups in the morning. Ian can’t control where guests are staying but it unfortunately took 2 hours from our pick up time to get to the start of the hike. Our pick up time was at 8:30am in Old San Juan and we stopped at three other places to pick up three other groups along the way. Be sure to pack a change of clothes, water shoes or old sneakers for the hike and snacks. Overall, it was a great trip and my kids will remember the cliff jumps forever!
Our crew had an amazing time seeing a new and beautiful place. The scenery was breathtaking and the activities were all a blast. Our tour guide was also super experienced and engaging.
This tour was incredible. Rafael is an amazing guide with so much knowledge and kindness to share. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
Raphael is a great guide, he kept us safe all the time but I must say the hike is not super-easy and it was so muddy that we could not enjoy the walk as we were watching our steps. I once arrived at the river all the water activities were fun, all in all, the tour is definitely worth it. On the negative side, We did not get the fresh fruit that was supposed to be included and the tour operator should provide a place where you can change your clothes.
Marty was our guide. He made this our best experience in San Juan. He is a very attentive and knowledgeable guide who enjoys sharing stories and knowledge of San Juan and El Yunque rainforest.
We did a private tour if El Yunque which was the highlight of our trip. Out guide Rafael was fantastic. Loved it
Awesome hike and Harry was a great guide. Highly recommend. The pick up option from our hotel made the trip easy.
Great adventure. Our tour guide Guillermo was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions to get there early to avoid crowds. Very respectful and helpful.
Best experience ever!!! LUIS & KAREN son lo mejor! (their the best) Made us feel like we had been knowing them for years! Totally booking when I visit again! 🇵🇷🇵🇷💗 #losdemonios
Our original two tours were canceled, but Rafael and his company were able to help us still see EL Yunque on our last day in Puerto Rico! We had a great time. Our guide, Daniel, was very personable and he made sure we got there before the crowds took over! We hiked, climbed, jumped into the water and swam near a beautiful waterfall! We had a great time and are so glad this tour allowed us to experience the rainforest. Thank you!
Rafael was the perfect guide. We were picked up at our hotel, went on our light to moderate hike, did the slides and played in the natural pools for quite some time. We were not rushed and not part of a massive group. This team is thoughtful and provides a real cultural experience. The food at our food stop was excellent. What an amazing experience.
Ian was an excellent guide. He was super knowledgeable and courteous. When we come back we will be sure to do this again! Be sure to bring hiking shoes and get ready to get a little muddy and wet.
Loved this experience! Ian was an amazing guide-- He is very knowledgeable, fun and made us all feel safe and comfortable on the trek! We were picked up at 7am to get to our destination by 8, as Ian had texted the day before that we should leave a little early to beat the crowds. I am so happy we left a little earlier because we basically had the trail to ourselves on our way there. We walked slowly, stopping to listen to Ian talk about different types of plants and flowers we saw along the way. It is a short hike, but there were definitely challenges parts-- mud, roots and rocks. Definitely wear sneakers (I saw some people in other groups wearing crocks or flip flops and I don't know how they made it). Our guides were great at helping us where we needed, lending us a hand across slippery and/or steep rocks. The natural water slides at the end were incredible. Ian and our other guide (so sorry I forgot her name!) encouraged us to try the slides while making us feel totally safe. Everyone in our group went down with no regrets :) we loved it. You spend a decent amount of time at the slides so you can go down a few times or jump off of the rocks if you want. Note-- Ian had life jackets available, but we were not required to wear them and no one in our group did. Other big tour groups we saw looked like they were required to wear helmets and life jackets for their whole hike which seemed hot and cumbersome. I was happy Ian had them as an option but felt safe without. I really appreciated that this tour kept the group small -- there were only 8 of us so it felt like more of an individualized experience vs a tour. This was truly a unique experience and the highlight of my trip to Puerto Rico. Can't recommend enough!
Beautiful day and amazing tour guide Francisco! We had a lot of fun. Gorgeous forest. Adventurous and very good experience. Outdoor waterfalls and cliffs.
We had an amazing time with Rafael as our guide and we’re glad there were just 8 of us in the group (we saw the bigger groups of 30+ and it didn’t look as fun). He picked us up from our hotel which was very convenient. He told us all about the history of Puerto Rico, San Juan including the island and mountains formations. We had an amazing jungle hike, including the waterfalls, rope swings and jumps. We could tell he was the best tour guide and he was super patient. We finished with some great food.
This is the tour to take! Rafael is the best guide. Super fun, full of information about Puerto Rico and your safety is definitely accounted for. The small group size is a major plus. After the hike we had the best meal of our vacation at the restaurant Rafael took us to. You must book this tour!
Our guide was informative, kind, spirited and careful. Even his choice of local eatery was excellent. I’d go with him on other tours if given the time.
Raphael was a fantastic guide - provided a lot of “local” information and was a wonderful guide. It was a super safe and fun expedition.
Rafael was an extraordinary guide. The tour was very small, which was excellent compared to the huge lines we saw with some of the other tours. Rafael clearly knew the best way of ensuring his clients move quickly and enjoy themselves. Be advised the tour is a bit more strenuous and probably not best for older clients or children under 8.
Rafael was the perfect guide for this experience! He’s experienced, incredibly knowledgeable about almost every topic, and he brought an equal amount of enthusiasm and attentiveness to our group. The small party size (3 couples + Rafael) was perfect and it felt more like friends going for a hike than being shuffled through a tour. Book this and don’t think twice!
I really enjoyed and recommend this experience! I had lots of fun exploring the rainforest, sliding down the natural waterslides and swinging on a rope into the water, Jose was a great guide and ensured everyone was safe. He was also very accommodating with pickup for the excursion (I was staying a little far from the usual pick up area). One of the best things was that he took plenty of pictures and videos during the tour and sent them to me afterwards
I have been to El Yunque before, but never like this. Our guide Rafi is super knowledgeable about the history of the area, all the local customs, fauna all basically everything else there is to know about the island. Not to mention that he has been hiking the area with his friends for 20 plus years. Definitely wear sneakers that have grip as the path is muddy and slippery. The hike to get to the falls and river is not for the faint of heart, but you don’t have to be a sherpa to get there either. My 10 year old son & 64 year old brother along with our wives all completed the entire trek with no problems. We went early per Rafi’s advice, as other tours come through later in the day. After a short hike through a beaten path you arrive at the river of cool clear water with natural pools to swim in. There are various cliffs that you can jump off or swing off via rope into the water, and life vests are available for those who don’t swim well. If you dare you venture further upstream traversing huge tree roots and rock formations until you get to the upper falls. There Rafi prepared us an array of local fruit delicacies (mango, passion fruit ect) to enjoy while you relax a bit and take in the sights and sounds of the pristine rainforest. Headed back downstream we slid down natural waterslides into deep river plunge pools. There are plenty of local guides who all know and help each other to keep everyone safe. Further downstream and back to the cliff diving & rope swinging area for some thrills and FUN. Once totally exhausted you take the short hike back to the cars. You can’t help but have a new found appreciation of mother nature and a singularity with the jungle (sounds corny I know, but try it and you’ll understand!). I recommend driving to the close by Luquillo beach kioskos for a meal of local delicacies and a cold Medella beer. Ask Rafi which one of the kioskos is best to eat at, he’ll give you the scoop!
This was the best hiking trip I have ever taken! Ian was a great tour guide and helped us get through the forest. My parents are in their 50s and I am pregnant and he did an amazing job! :)
This was an awesome experience for me & my family. Ian was our tour guide & he was great. He guided us, taught us the history of the forest and also demonstrated on jumps & hikes. The one on one attention was amazing it just made the tour even more memorable. Highly recommend.
If you don’t book with them you’re missing out. Ian and Vanessa were nothing short of AMAZING. Friendly, fun knowledgeable on the history of the rainforest and I felt safe with them. Van was clean, not overcrowded, cool and he drove safely. They were With you literally every step of the way. I can’t wait for my next trip To pr to book specifically with them. Thank you for an amazing experience!
By far... This appeared to the best tour (out of many) to be on. Maybe it was because of our tour guide Carlos. He was the BEST!! I observed all the other tour guides out there and they were not as attentive.. Carlos actually cared about our safety. He even cared about the safety of people in other companies group. He was extremely knowledgeable about the country and the rainforest. Cutting up and earing the fruit was a perfect authentic touch/experience. I really appreciate how this company doesn't do large groups. They do groups under 11 ppl... When other companies had groups of 30 or more. You really need a tour guide that's going to look out for your safety out there. It's a great experience... but it can be a bit dangerous at times. So you a tour guide that's going to actually be concerned about keeping everyone safe. This tour was everything I imagined it to be.... From the hike.. To the cliff jumping! Well worth the money!!!
Great tour with Carlos. Beautiful location. Loved the rope swing and thoroughly enjoyed the swim, hike and the day!
It was horrible. It is a scam.the tour operators purposefully waste your time and as soon as you arrive miraculously the flooding will start . Then they will offer you a cheap trip to the beach for $160 per person. Complete scam. It is laughable. Never ever do it
Carlos was a fantastic guide and got us on the trails early to beat the crowds and really appreciate the beauty of the rainforest. Then fresh mangos and papayas after rock jumping and swimming the pools under the watergal. This is absolutely the tour you need to take to have the best experience hiking El Yunque!
A fun trip exploring the rainforest and swimming in the natural springs. Rope swing was a highlight and natural slides are for the more adventurous. Hiking route was muddy and a bit technical but the views were worth it. Would be challenging for younger kids or older individuals not in shape. Our guide Carlos was great - patient with the group, answering questions and showing us the best routes.
Ian was wonderful! He was very informative abs helpful. We have 3 children ranging in ages from 8-16. Our 8 year old is definitely not a risk taker. Ian was patient and made him feel completely safe and comfortable. He ended up loving the natural water slides! This was the highlight of our trip and would definitely recommend!
The moderate hike up the river was beautiful and the swimming hangout location was amazing. My tour guide Jesse was more than friendly and helpful. Just a reminder, you will get wet and a little muddy but you can rinse off in the river and change your clothes at a nearby restroom. Highly recommend that you read the full itinerary description because there was a couple that had no idea what they were getting into and weren't prepared for this type of experience which slowed our group hike.
This was a great tour. Ian and our other tour guide were knowledgeable, helpful on the hike, and enthusiastic. The area we stopped for lunch in Luqiullo was so good! Highly recommend Jibaro. I wish we had more than an hour there. I agree with this being a moderate hike. Definitely need athletic shoes at a minimum. You will slip if you are in water shoes, it was a lot of climbing on slippery rocks, mud and tree roots. Our only complaint is that there were not enough life jackets for the group. You will really be fine without them if you know how to swim, but since we paid so much for the tour and they were short by like 3 life vests (in a group of less than 10 average size adults) it seems a little odd.
Wow!!! Absolutely incredible. If you could only pick one tour and hike to do this one is it. Our guide Ian was amazing. So knowledgeable and experienced. Even our two kids ages 14 and 12 loved it. Extreme and fantastic tour. Best one of the whole week we were in Puerto Rico.
José and Malcolm were our tour guides. They were both outstanding!!! They cared about our safety and had our back at all times. The tour was a small amount of people and that was to our advantage as we got to know all the other people and supported one another. An incredibly rich experience we will never forget!!! Highly recommend!!!
