Tour guides are funny and passionate. He shared us some plants and animals that are unique to Yunque Rainforest which is great. Guides are patient to wait everyone.

DJ was absolutely amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and so welcoming. From the moment we met him, he made us feel like we had known him for years. Even hiking through the rain, he made the experience fun, comfortable and memorable. It’s hard to put into words just how grateful we are for the care, time and genuine kindness he showed us throughout the entire excursion. He went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible experience, and we will always remember the beautiful adventure we shared in El Yunque. If you’re considering this excursion, do it! We had such an amazing experience exploring El Yunque Rainforest! Our tour guide, JD, was absolutely wonderful. He was so personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire excursion fun and memorable. JD really went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every part of the experience, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. He made us feel comfortable and kept us laughing along the way. If you’re visiting Puerto Rico and planning an El Yunque excursion, I highly recommend asking for JD! He truly made this one of the highlights of our trip. 🌿🇵🇷❤️

We had an absolutely AMAZING experience exploring El Yunque with DJ as our tour guide! From the very beginning, DJ was incredibly friendly, energetic, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and included. He didn’t just show us around — he made the entire experience feel like we were exploring Puerto Rico with a friend. DJ knew all the best spots, shared so much interesting information about El Yunque and Puerto Rican culture, and made the whole tour so much fun. He was also super patient and helpful when it came to taking pictures and making sure we got to enjoy every part of the experience. You can tell DJ genuinely loves what he does and takes pride in showing people the beauty of Puerto Rico. El Yunque was already breathtaking, but having DJ guide us through it made the experience even more memorable. If you’re visiting Puerto Rico and thinking about doing an El Yunque tour, ask for DJ! You will not regret it. 10/10 experience, and definitely one of the highlights of our trip! 🇵🇷🌴💚

The hike to water activities is strenuous but loads of fun. Rope swing was a lil’ scary. Be careful on slick rocks.

It is beautiful rainforest and the sliding through the waterfall and jumping off the rocks 20 feet to the water, every thing

The experience was amazing from start to finish good vibes. If you need guides pick Angel and Jorge both very professional and fun. Id definitely go with them again !!!

Our guide, DJ, was amazing. I will say it was quite the hike but worth it in the end with the slide and cliff jump! DJ made sure we felt safe and was very helpful throughout every step.

The itinerary is pretty deceptive. You drive there, walk to the waterslide, play in the water for an hour, then walk back. It isn’t a horrible activity, and we managed to have some fun, but it wasn’t at all what the description suggests. If you just want a family hike and fun in the water, it’s great. If you actually want to experience and learn about the rainforest, look elsewhere.

The tour was beautiful and absolutely worth booking. The hike itself is a bit difficult, but our guide Carlos was so careful and helpful. He was so funny and light hearted but also is very experienced and definitely knows what he's doing. The waterslide and rope swing is a must, if you're looking for a nice couple hour tour, this is the one!

The forest is very beautiful and the experience was a lot of fun. However our driver and tour guide, Carlos, drove like a maniac. He hit a guard rail and kept going. My girlfriend was getting car sick because of his driving. During the tour he barely talked and just didn’t seem like he wanted to be there.

Super fun. Our Guide was so nice to everyone and had a lot to teach us. It was definitely harder to climb the rocks than I thought it would be. I don’t think it’s meant for an older generation.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Our hiking and water tour in El Yunque with Carlos was a beautiful and enjoyable experience overall. The rainforest is absolutely stunning—lush, vibrant, and full of breathtaking scenery. The natural water spots were refreshing and definitely a highlight of the day. Carlos was kind, welcoming, and clearly familiar with the area, which made the tour feel relaxed and comfortable. The only minor challenge was a bit of a language barrier at times, which made it harder to fully connect and understand some of the details being shared. Even so, we had a great time and truly appreciated the opportunity to explore El Yunque. With just a little smoother communication, this experience would easily be a 5-star tour!

This is a VERY strenuous hike! Absolutely loved it and enjoyed the day and our tour guide TJ (or maybe DJ) but it’s not for those who are not in good shape. I would highly recommend it for those with endurance!

Our family had a blast on this tour. Our guide Yamil was awesome and made sure we all had fun on the cliff jump and rope swing while still making sure everyone started safe. Highly recommend this tour and this guide was top notch. Thanks Yamil stay jacked!

This was a great experience. The hike was a bit more than we bargained for, but glad we did it. Misael our guide was wonderful; very patient, explained what to do very well.

Overpriced and the experience was not as advertised. Guide was late and unkind, also texting and driving,“hike” was 10 minutes. The bottled water had all been opened lol and the tour guide did not give us any info on the ride up about the forest or its history. Unrelated to the company, I would also mention that while the rainforest area we were in was pretty especially the rockslide but quite crowded, I would recommend going somewhere else. FYI this review is edited bc of the comment from the organization saying I did not attend, I did attend on 3/9/26, my booking number was 334804752 and confirmation number was #FJABTB, the fact that the company is trying to pretend I wasn’t there might be the reddest flag of this entire organization.

We had an amazing experience on our San Juan Rainforest tour! Our tour guide, Alan/DJ, was fun, friendly, and made sure we got to experience every part of the hike. From the water slide to cliff jumping and rope jumping, every activity was a thrill! The entire trip was memorable from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone looking for adventure and fun in the rainforest. DJ, you are the best — thank you for making this such an unforgettable experience!

It is a strenuous hike. Be sure to bring closed toes shoes and expect to do a fair amount of climbing. The experience was wonderful.

Just wow! That is all I can say. We were a family ages 9-69 and our tour guide Michael was exceptional! First and foremost they are all about safety and gave us lifevests and helmets-we were the only group at the time with helmets (an did the same activities as the other groups). It was a great convenience being picked up/dropped off at the hotel. Michael educated us regarding the rainforest and area including the different fauna. He helped navigate the rocks and ensured everyone stayed together and was safe. He prepped us about what to expect, how to navigate the different activities. The rock slides were a blast! There was an extra cliff jump at that location for those who wanted. The "official" cliff jump site had 3 different heights ~20ft, ~15ft and ~5ft. There was also a rope swing at a different site. There are a few private changing stalls and washrooms for afterwards. Snacks and water provided after the tour was over for the way back. It was a ton of fun and a wonderful opportunity! Highly recommend!

If you choose not to do the waterfalls, water slide or the swinging rope, you are left behind and cannot do anything until the rest of the tour returns. This was not fully explained beforehand.

Tour marketed as ‘small group’ with no stated minimum. After booking and arriving in San Juan, the local operator handed me off to another tour operator that texted me the new meeting logistics. The new meeting time was at 6:20 am and a 15 minute walk from the hotel. I specifically booked this small group tour for the 8 am pickup time and the hotel pickup. Viator sent multiple automated messages about the original logistics and the new tour operator sent messages about the different pickup times. When I called San Juan Tours, the representative informed me that they would not run the tour with one guide and one guest; turns out they had a group of four cancel on short notice. Instead of cancelling my tour, they handed me over to another group called Tours Hacker. The new logistics were not acceptable and I declined to participate. The original tour group refused to refund me the cost of the tour despite violating Viator policy. I was not offered a tour later in the day or another tour.
