What an incredible experience! Being my first time doing this, I wasn't sure what to expect, but it completely exceeded my expectations. Huge shoutout to our guide, who was amazingly supportive and attentive throughout!

Please read carefully for all safety requirements and limitations for this excursion: This adventure begins with your hotel pick up, (within the San Juan area - see Additional Info), and is the perfect option for hiking lovers. After arriving in Ceiba, your initial hike will start as pure adventure on an approximate 30-minute journey on a dirt/rock path and muddy terrain. This trail is surrounded by bamboo trees, rainforest flowers, and many other beautiful plants. After the hike, you will enjoy from water activities. First, visit a river and collecting pool that forms at the base of a waterfall. Take the time here to cool off in its refreshing waters. We will then proceed to another hike and rock climb in order to visit more natural pools (the more strenuous part). Our guide Jullian made the trip amazing. From the time he picked us up to drop off he was very helpful, great vibe, and was dedicated to our adventures. Would absolutely do it again with him.
Very good communication with tour company about a change in schedule and pick up information. Our guide/ driver Jason was personable, very informative and detailed about what to expect & knowledgeable of surroundings. He took us to a wonderful lunch stop (one our favorite restaurants during our trip to PR) This tour was very physically demanding.
This is a must if you want to take a non-traditional hike through the rainforest. Our guide, Jason, was phenomenal and made everyone feel like part of his family. Highly recommend this tour!
Serving as a guide to a variety of travelers on this very popular tour can no doubt become a little repetitive, but Luis and Jason were outstanding in bringing a warmth and perfectly paced tempo to our short intro naturalist hike & swim in the El Yunque rainforest. As the main guide, Jason expertly used the Joie de vivre of about a dozen college friends on the tour to keep the energy flowing & in high spirits, while Luis ensured the safety of much of the group in tricky-to-climb spaces & handled a thousand video & photo requests patiently & gracefully. I would highly recommend a tour with Jason & Luis to anyone interested in a fun, informative intro visit to a small part of the El Yunque rainforest.
Not much of a hiking experience. The experience was more geared toward the water activity. Jason , our guide was a delight. He was passionate about the rainforest and shared so much knowledge of the various plants with us. He truly made the experience a fun one.
You’re going to get wet and muddy. You don’t need hiking shoes AND water shoes - just one or the other and a pair of flip flops for when you’re done. The trip itself was great. Some challenging parts of the hike but well paced and we (mid life) never felt stressed or incapable. Take the water slide. Do the rope swing. JUMP OFF OF THE CLIFF! The guides from various tours all work together to promote respect, safety, and a great time. Would book again, no hesitation.
This was an awesome tour and the highlight of our trip! Our guide, Jason, shared a wealth of knowledge about the rainforest during the tour. He was an excellent guide and so much fun! We were a group of 12 (all ages) and Jason navigated us through hiking, rock climbing, and jumping to swim in the marvelous waterfalls. After the tour, we stopped and ate lunch at a local restaurant (you have to try the Mofongo with shrimp and creole sauce) and we were transported back to our hotel on time. I highly recommend this tour! Jason was phenomenal!
Jason did an amazing job of guiding our "off the beaten path" tour. He was patient, knowledgeable, and charming. Our group of 10 included two seniors, and he was skillful in navigating us through the scramble up the wet boulders and down the muddy ravine. I'd highly recommend this tour to others, but be sure to bring a complete change of clothes. It's not a question that "you might get wet." No, you WILL get entirely soaked! The trip was definitely the high point of my three days in PR. Thanks, Jason!
We are so happy we did this tour! It was a great hike and the natural water slide was so much fun and needed after the hike. Our guide Jason was amazing! He was super passionate about the tour/forest and making sure we learned as much as we could about our surroundings. He was super helpful and attentive to anything anyone needed and he also took the best photos, I didn’t even need my phone. Book this tour you won’t regret it!
Happy was such a fun and Enjoyable tour guide . We had lots of laughs and fun . I definitely will be back soon ! We also learned a lot about the locals and rainforest ! 10/10 would recommend
We really enjoyed this hiking trip and the transportation was seamless. Jason was a friendly and informative guide who made sure everyone was safe and comfortable. He was amazing with my 9 year old. We really enjoyed the slide, cliff jumping, and rope swing. Jason also showed us/had us taste some really incredible plants. We went during the "off season" and the water slide/rope swing area was a moderately crowded. Just be aware that in the high season, there could be a ton of people. If you do this trip I highly recommend that you book with Jason.
It was me and my boyfriend’s first time ever leaving California and but i am glad we did we had the best time with our amazing tour guides Luis and Jason i would recommend to ask for them. I would wear running shoes or some water shoes that are comfy and able to climb :), And some water clothes and brinf extra clothes you will be leaving it in the bus! Where it will be safe! Hope you guys book and enjoy like i did!
Awesome experience. But if you are not comfortable climbing or not steady on your feet I don’t recommend. My son and I LOVED it! Oh- and make sure you can handle some mud :)
Felix our tour guide was THE BEST!!! He was so energetic amd passionate, we had such a great time on the tour. I wish the hike was a longer and I would've loved to explore a little more of the rainforest amd not stay in the water, but it was still fun amd beautiful!
The tour guides were amazing. They gave history of island, plants, and the rainforest. They were very patient and made each individual in the group comfortable throughout each segment of the tour. They took us to an awesome local restaurant for late lunch that did not disappoint with the spices and meal. I definitely recommend Bespoke and will contact them for future tours when I visit Puerto Rico again.
Our guides, Frankie and Jason, made this day wonderful. Their passion for their country, the forest, and making sure tourists have a good time enjoying it is very evident. They were enthusiastic, kind, and FUN. A major pro was their kindness in taking photos and videos of the group. It's nice to have those memories of the excursion but stressful to worry about your phone, so I'm glad this wasn't a company that made you pay extra for professional photographs - it was nice to let them capture fun moments from the angles they know are best. Thank you for this! Things to think about - You might be affronted from the start if you aren't familiar with the "drive to multiple hotels in the tourist van to pick up all participants" routine. We were the first hotel pick up and spent over 90 minutes in the van picking up 15 other people. This isn't explicitly explained in the trip information and some in our group weren't prepared for this. By the time we did pick-ups and drove to the spot in the forest, we (the first pick-up) had been on the van around 2.5 hours. You do make a lunch stop after being in the forest and you do have to pay extra for it, but our meal at Asador Boricua was the best we had all week - try their mofongo! You don't HAVE to eat at the restaurant (if you don't want that expense), but it's delicious. The spot you go for the rock slide and cliff jumping is not some exclusive place this company goes - it is utilized by many companies (and it looked like anyone could just access that spot even without a tour guide). It was pretty busy. There were lines to take turns at each little adventurous spot. Jason and Frankie made this fun, though, and we were the only company required to wear helmets and life jackets, which was a good idea. With a couple hundred people climbing around wet rocks, it just takes one little slip to start a cascade of falls. None of these facts made the trip any less fun. I wouldn't call this an "adventure" so much as an "experience". If you drove yourself in, did the walk (no hike) through the forest, did the water activities, and left, it would take less than half the time this day took, BUT great conversations with the guides and hearing their passion for this place made it a wonderful day for us to learn about, appreciate, and experience this beautiful piece of Puerto Rico.
The rain forest tour was well worth the cost. Our tour guide Julian made us feel like one big family that day. He took the time to get to know each and everyone of us. The smoothie stop was amazing! The lunch stop was ok. The food was very good. The only downfall. It was a small roadside restaurant so the service took awhile due to the size of our group. That made a lot of us tired after a day of hiking and swimming by waiting. Thank you to the legend Luis for getting us to and from safely!! Both guides we very helpful in the hike. Making sure we all made it over the rocks and into the water. I loved the stops along the trail and listening to Julian's useless information. It is always great to learn about an area that we do not live in. The information is not useless to me. Thank you Julian and Luis for a great day!!!
Definitely recommend this tour, it wasn’t as challenging as I would like I wanted more of like a hike but I realize maybe I should have done something private for that as many tours do not take people that deep into el yunque. Nonetheless it was nice and reminded me of the blue hole excursion in Jamaica and both my man and I enjoyed. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide were absolutely amazing! They made us feel really welcome and really safe. We traveled with a couple of children and the kids had no problems. Everybody felt great and had such a great experience. The sense of family that they drive home is exactly what we were looking for. All of the stops were on points. The restaurant was amazing. The hiking was amazing. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Thank you so much for a great tour.
Our guides made this the best trip by taking care of us and ensuring our safety. We were picked up at our hotel in San Juan along with a group of about 20 and transported to El Yunque. Along the way we stopped for a bathroom break and the opportunity to buy snacks. On the way back we stopped for dinner. What set our guides apart, however, was at El Yunque. We were given life vests and helmets. I saw many tour companies bringing people to El Yunque without these items. Our guides took many pictures of our group both collectively and individually, which they made available to us for free so we didn’t need to bother with bringing cameras or cell phones. And, every step of the way they guided us through the hike and took steps to ensure our safety, including helping people along the hike and being positioned to help anyone who needed assistance in the water in advance. What I didn’t see is other tour groups doing the same thing. Very thankful for Felix and his team at Bespoke.
Fransisco was AMAZING! Could not thank him enough for his customized service and thoughtfulness. He was well-informed and full of recipes that we are excited to try out! We recommend him to anyone traveling around the island.
Elias and Julian were fantastic. So fun, energetic, but safe. We traveled with friends and family, of all ages and adventure levels. The forest was beautiful and the waterfall sliding and cliff jumping was so much fun.
great tour, Julien communicated well and made sure everything was safe. Relative to the hiking, ther's lots of water activity including water slide, jumping off/swinging into the lake/river.
A lovely experience. Even though we were a big group (30 people), Jason, our tour guide) did a great job of bringing us together. He and Elias, our driver, were warm, welcoming and patient. Jason has a passion for the rainforest and for people—and he did a great job of sharing his knowledge of the flora and fauna.
We did the hiking tour that had natural waterslides, cliff jump and rope swing. Our guide was great and the activities were fun. We found the park overcrowded which limited the time you could do the activities like sliding and jumping. (you only can do it once based on the lines) Would i recommend it? yes, but just know that they cram too many people into there with many tour groups operating. I would not say it is a rainforest tour, but more of a swimming hole adventure
From the minute we arrived on the bus, the vibe was just amazing! Julian and Elias made us feel so comfortable immediately and played games to introduce ourselves. They were incredible guides and really made the day so special! They take photos of you at every activity so that you don’t need to worry about taking your phone. I couldn’t recommend this trip more! really worth the money and the experience!
My friend and I decided to visit El Yunque as part of a Spring Break trip to San Juan. Our tour guides, Julian and Elio (I hope I'm spelling that correctly) were incredibly knowledgeable of the Rainforest's history and flora, and led our group of 20+ people safely along a muddy trail to a glimmering natural pool, formed by a river. Once there, they helped us reach a natural waterslide, a 30ft cliff jumping spot and rope swing (all into the same large, refreshing natural pool). Once we left the rainforest we stopped at a local restaurant serving authentic Puerto Rican food, which was delicious. It was generally a fantastic experience with enthusiastic guides, who are quick thinkers and creative problem solvers, addressing unforeseen circumstances along our journey to ensure a comfortable, enjoyable trip. I highly recommend this company and these tour guides if you are interested in a trip that includes getting muddy and wet, cliff jumping and rope swinging. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the experience!
What a great trip. Jason and Leas. What two great people to have as your guides. A great history lesson about the rain forest was given to us and they made sure we were safe every step of the way. I heard other people from other tours saying they wished they were with our guides and tour.
Jason led an excellent tour! He was fun, engaging, and made sure that everyone was safe and comfortable on a pretty rigorous hike. Loved that he airdropped all the photos and videos to people on the tour at the end so that we didnt have to worry about bringing our phones. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for an adventure in PR
Jason and Elias where fabulous guides Safety was first and foremost followed by fun! Lifejackets and helmets were mandatory, which you might think was a little extreme as all these other people walked past enroute to the same adventure not equipped the same way. This is a rain forest we are hiking in and depending on how much rain has fallen overnight dictates how much and fast the water in the river is moving. Today it was moving fast, going down the natural water slide was great but I was happy I had a life jacket and a helmet on, and I am a very strong swimmer. The trail is muddy and wet with lots of rocks, as a retired first responder I recognized there is great potential for a bad slip and fall with head injury but being properly equipped all but eliminates that risk. This is a 1st class operation and I highly recommend them. Jason’s recommendations at our lunch stop was perfect. Thank you for a great day!
Why should you book this specific tour? CHAAN, CHAAN, CHAAAN! The tour guide, obviously! Felix or by the end of the trip, Tio Feli, makes you feel like a part of something bigger. Felix has the ability to bring strangers together and give them an unforgettable experience! The other staff, bus driver/photographer, and life guards were great too. All along the way, they are there helping you, you are never left alone. **Every tour group leader we passed commented how lucky we were to have Felix. He truly loves his job which makes this experience a million times better. If your lucky enough to have him you’ll understand!** I can see why some people may not want to wear the helmets and life jackets but it is so important. This is a rigorous hike. Safety is a priority of all staff on this trip. From the waterfall slides, to the cliff jumping, you are climbing over slick rocks. It honestly stressed me out to see other groups hitting the water hard with out safety gear. What to wear: As I said, it’s a lot of slick rocks. Numerous tour groups climb through the rainforest wet, also it’s a RAINforest. My hiking boots were water lodged which didn’t help with the hiking to each activity. I recommend looking for good non slip shoes that are light weight. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was delicious! I recommend the lechón, arroz y habichuelas. Don’t be basic and get a burger.
Adrianna was the best tour guide I could ask for! She’s incredibly friendly and super knowledgeable of El Yunque, and she clearly loves what she does. She was always looking out for our safety and ensuring that we were comfortable and having a good time. I was nervous about attending this as a solo traveler, but there were plenty of other people traveling by themselves too, and the entire group was so amicable and welcoming. Choosing to go on this tour was definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a fun yet challenging hike, and I encourage everyone to leave a tip for your tour guide at the end of the trip!
Jason and Jay were amazing guides! We had so much fun embracing the mud. The second portion up to the slide was a little difficult but worth the experience.
Great experience. Friendly staff. Good choice of restaurant. Safe and fun day. Thank you all for your hard work.
This is an extremely athletic activity that is suited only for people who are fit (no wannabees!). It starts with a gentle uphill walk through deep and sticky mud. There is a section that is extremely narrow (7inches wide)- too narrow for many large people. Then follows a lot of climbing over steep, slippery, wet and sharp rocks hand-over-foot and precarious walking in flowing streams. Obviously, arm and leg strength as well as GOOD balance are absolutely necessary! There is a 12-foot slippery slide at the top, followed by a 3-5-10-15 foot jump into a pool (you pick the height you are comfortable with), and lastly a 12-foot Tarzan swing. Life vests are provided, but one should be comfortable being dunked deep into water and swimming to the sides of the pools. Most people who did all the jumps were extremely happy they did so. There is some educational benefit to this activity; but it really should be considered only an adventure. Because there are several sections that are extremely rocky, one should NOT go barefoot, or wear flip flops or sandals or even swim socks (unless they have thick 1/4+ inch soles). Only cameras in waterproof cases should be brought; and many people lose things they think are strongly attached or pocketed (watches, money, etc.). Regardless, one's shoes will be totally covered in mud at the end of the adventure. ALERT: There are no facilities anywhere (no toilets, drinking water, etc.); except one can be hosed off after completing this 3-4 hour activity.
Great tour guides, fun and yet put safety first. They took pictures and video for our adventure and gave them to us.
Adriana was an amazing tour guide, clear communicator, sense of humour & a kind person. The tour itself was really fun the hike, the water slide, the cliff jump & the rope swing!
Viator has the absolute best guides! They are head and shoulders above and beyond the competition. I hope they are paying Jason and Pablo the highest wage possible for what they do. Both gentlemen freely shared their expertise, experience and opinions which was appreciated when wanting a local perspective. Please, when trying to decide which company to tour with. Viator stands above the rest. So appreciate both guides!!!
Amazing experience taking my team deep into the rainforest! We loved the swimming and cliff diving especially. Hector and Mitchell were AMAZING guides. One of the best days I've had in PR. Wear water shoes!
This trip was so much fun. Our guide, Jason, was very friendly and he was clearly passionate about El Yunque. He explained a lot about the different plants, trees, and animals and he helped everyone in the group get to everything they wanted to do with the different cliff jumps/rope swings/slides while being safe and comfortable. I’d highly recommend it!
Had an amazing time! George and Tarzan made the experience unforgettable! Will deff be back to explore more. Cannot recommend enough !!
This is apparently a pretty standard excursion as there were several operators there are the same time. It's great to see that all the guides from the different companies are PR-style friendly among each other and willingly help each other's guests. The main difference between this company and the others was the use of the helmets and life vests. Rivers and activities like jumping off rocks can go sideways at any moment. I felt a lot safer when I saw how well prepared our group was versus the others. Adriana, Luis and Mitchell (Tarzan) were great guides.
Adriana was the BEST most enthusiastic tour guide I have ever had! She was so friendly, helpful & easy to talk to. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour - especially with her! It was a demanding hike so just be ready! I would suggest you bring a sweat band or bandanna to help with the sweat in your eyes. Excellent experience!
Hector and Jay were amazing and funny the hike in the rainforest with water was so fun I recommend especially for the price and travel
Incredible guides who were fun, funny, environmentally conscious, and cared about their guests safety when it comes to life in the rainforest because rain happens and you’ve got to be smart with rivers. My friends from out of town who’s first time at the island had an absolute blast. It was an enjoyable full day trekking through mud, dipping in the river, and sliding down a waterfall! The lunch spot afterwards was SO delicious too. Definitely would recommend this tour option Vs the other company tour options that we passed by on the trail that look to not have as quality equipment or as experienced tour guides.
While it was a cool experience. The trail was extremely crowded and it seemed like we were just another number. The amount of people made the overall experience subpar. Our guide was friendly and nice but we didn’t enjoy the constant stopping as we hiked to what I would say was one waterfall.
Just got back from my tour and I had to write something! It was so wonderful. I went with Adrianna who was so sweet and so kind. I was on a solo trip and I was feeling a bit weird because my birthday is this week and my husband is deployed, so I am celebrating it alone. But Adri made me feel so welcomed and cared for!! She took photos of everyone too and it was so cute. She’s a girls girl!!!!! The hike itself wasn’t too far or challenging, and the water was so cool and refreshing. Definitely booking again!!!
Had a great time doing this excursion, really was off the beaten path, but the waterfalls and the rivers where great to lounge in, for the adventures types who enjoy sliding down a waterfall or leaping off a cliff this is for you. Our guide, Andriana, was the best, cheerful and full of energy. She made sure you had a great time and all with love. 🫶
We had such an amazing experience. Kids, adults all had so much fun. George went above and beyond in regards to safety, guidance (particular clear and direct) and even extra suggestions for the rest of our trip. He didn't need to do half of what he did and we are so grateful. Forever memories ❤️
