Chase Waterfalls - Discover A Hidden 180ft Rainforest Gem

Tristan was great. He was friendly, polite, very helpful, funny, and enlightening. He pointed out and talked about several places we drove by, and explained about the origin of some plants we saw during the hike. He even played the song Chasing Waterfalls for us during the drive. The hike was tough, but he helped when he could and told us the best places to step. The waterfalls and terrain were beautiful. The coffee/ hot chocolate was great and the fruit was delicious. I would definitely recommend this excursion and Tristan as a guide.

First, we were going to do the EL Yunque hike and waterfalls but found this tour that kept the participants per guide low and they picked us up from our AirBNB!!! Boy, we're we surprised when Triston showed up with a smile. He was the best! We stopped for fresh fruit before we started and then we stopped at Baker Bro's for excellent coffee and fresh pastries (I had the macadamia nut cookies and they were delicious). Next, while travelling through the winding roads, Tristan told us about the trees and some history. He slowed down, when possible, for us to take pictures. Now, nobody likes wet socks but, we were required to wear them in our water shoes...I think it helped cushion the hike 😉. We were provided a vest, if requested, and Triston put things that we did not want to get wet in his backpack. His pace was set to the group and he even turned around to help, if needed. You will get wet on this tour...you have to swim a little to get to the big waterfall...if you want the total experience. When we got there, Tristan prepared fresh mangos, bananas, pineapple and oranges for us to enjoy!!! It was all so fresh and delicious!!! Finally, on our way back, Tristan told us about the history of some of the plants. Overall, I would do this tour again. It was just 5 of us, including Triston and we all felt like royalty. The money for this excursion is well worth it. The time spent was great. It was personal, educational and just plain exciting. Tristan rocked the entire time and he really cared about us having a great experience. To top it off, he took pictures along our hike and sent them to us...ALL INCLUDED! Thank you again!!! Just FABULOUS!!! 💕 💚

Kids enjoyed this more than the Yunuke waterfalls and rope swings to our shock. Lovely engaging hike with reasonable challenge/adventure. Guide was excellent and treated us like family.

today we hiked El Charco Prieto. Tristan was our guide and he was absolutely amazing! Beyond courteous and fun. We had such a great time and he took us to the this bakery cafe and we had a delicious breakfast sandwich and the pastrami sandwich. He was taking pictures and videos of us throughout the hike. The fruit that he brought for us was delicious. The mango was so sweet!! Thank you again for an amazing adventure!!

We had a lot of fun! First time hiking in Puerto Rico, Tristan picked us up and got us coffee on the way, and guided us through the rain making sure we were safe. The waterfall was very beautiful definitely worth doing the tour! He took our insta pics for us too, got the angles right and everything. Tours may have local dogs join you on the hike. The fruit was very refreshing after!

pictures speak for themselve! dominique was super nice and we enjoyed our hike through the waterfalls. a little strenuous on the knees but i’m not active and was able to get through it easily, lots of rock climbing!!

Definitely recommend Tristan and this tour. We started out doing one tour and because of construction on the original excursion Tristan recommended another or to refund us, we weren’t sure and then after a few questions back and forth we went for it and we are glad we did. The alternate 200 foot waterfall and the hike up to it was amazing, we stopped at a local market for some fresh delicious fruit for the trail, Tristan was attentive to all of us and answered any questions we had. Talked extensively about local food and culture. And recommend other excursions. On the way back we went to another local place for empanadas and Margaritas. We won’t hesitate to book with Tristan again thanks for a great day Sara and Simon :)

Tristan was a great guide! The rainforest was closed due to construction and he came up with this great alternative which we gladly accepted. He was super helpful during the hike which was pretty rocky and even cut up some delicious fruit for us to enjoy. So glad we did this the views were absolutely beautiful! Would definitely recommend to those who don’t mind getting a little wet.

One of the must do trips if you are visiting El Yunque. Tristan was wonderful and helpful through the hike. Pick up smooth, drive was wonderful, he made sure to help everyone throughout the hike. The waterfall is absolutely mind blowing!! Make sure to add it to the itinerary on your next visit.

Absolutely unforgettable experience! The Chasing Waterfalls tour with Tristan was the highlight of our entire trip. From the moment we started, Tristan's passion for nature and his deep knowledge of the area made the journey incredibly engaging and fun. He’s not only an expert guide but also super personable and made everyone feel welcomed and safe the entire time. The trail itself was a perfect balance of adventure and beauty—lush greenery, hidden streams, and smaller waterfalls along the way that just kept building the excitement. But nothing—and I mean nothing—could prepare us for the breathtaking 200-foot waterfall at the end. It felt like stepping into a dream. The roar of the water, the mist in the air, and the sheer scale of it all was absolutely magical. Pictures just don’t do it justice. If you’re even thinking about booking this tour—do it. This tour was the most beautiful yet exhilarating experience me and my Girlfriend have ever experienced. It was a huge step out of our comfort zone but we took a leap of faith and will never regret it. The hike proved to be more challenging than we were expecting…but when you get to the waterfall destination, the challenges you faced along the way are all forgotten. Thank you to Nelson for be a calm and understanding guide. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting a rare experience that you can’t get mainland. Also MAKE SURE TO WEAR THE PROPER SHOES!! I made the mistake of not doing so and had fell on my first step into the forest, it made it so much more challenging lol. Side note: the breakfast was fantastic!

Tristan was super friendly and caring. Feel free to ask him about everything in Puerto Rico. The experience was awesome. Some paths were just a little rough to get through but we loved it. The waterfall is incredible, one of the best I’ve seen.

We had an amazing time on the waterfall tour with Tristian. It was my self , husband , 13 year old ,10 year old , a friend and her husband and 10year old. I had put in the wrong location to meet Tristian he was very kind about it. He gave great information along the tour and it was nice having a guide in front and a guide in back because our kids were alot faster than us. The river and waterfalls were beautiful! One of a kind experience! Oh, they even put some of our things in their waterproof bag. So we didn’t have to worry about our car keys. When we go back to Puerto Rico, I will definitely be giving him a call to set up some more tours! He also gave us some recommendations on beaches that we should go and see. Other questions we had about Puerto Rico he was great with answering them. I would recommend him and his tours.

Terrible experience. We had paid in advance to a tour and Tristan said in the last minute that would not be able to go that with the excuse of rain. He did not respond our message on time and not attended the calls. We were available at the point of meeting and no answers were got. We lost the opportunity to go to the forest. We were expecting a better communication but sounds very strange that Tristan just stoped to respond and attend calls in a moment that we were at whole family waiting for him. Happily that we had a good service from TripAdvisor and cancel and get the refund. I do not recommend someone like Tristan for this tour. Family needs someone with professionalism and that can trust. If TripAdvisor needs any evidence for this opinion, I can prove that we tried to get contact with Tristan and he just ignored.

We enjoyed our tour with Tristan so much! He was so knowledgeable about the natural landscape and history of the area. We will absolutely take another tour next time we are in PR!

This was such a wonderful experience! The view was amazing, pictures do not do it justice you have to see it for yourself. I’m so thankful to Tristan for his patience. My parents came along for this experience and needed lots of help. Tristan was so kind in helping my mom hike safely the whole way. Also, the pictures he took of us were so beautiful!
