Frances was wonderful! She shared her country with us and it was amazing. She knows all the history and current circumstances. The food was phenomenal!! And the “skip the line” at a couple restaurants was very cool - we felt very special 😎. Frances has me so excited about Puerto Rican food, that we are already planning which establishments to visit in the states to get more while home!!

Itinerary
Start your day with the aroma of freshly roasted Puerto Rican coffee in a cozy, family-run café tucked inside a historic Old San Juan building. Pair your brew with a delicate sugar-dusted pastry and learn how the island’s world-famous coffee beans are grown, harvested, and roasted to perfection.
Step into the vibrant streets and meet one of Old San Juan’s most beloved street vendors. Bite into a crispy, golden empanadilla stuffed with flavorful local fillings, the ultimate taste of Puerto Rico’s street food scene.
Skip the line and sip the original piña colada where it was first created. Taste history in a glass at the iconic bar that started it all.
Roll up your sleeves in a charming local patio and learn how to make Puerto Rico’s most beloved dish - mofongo! Mash fried plantains, choose your fillings, and enjoy your delicious creation.
Cool off with fresh, seasonal tropical fruit served by a friendly local vendor. Sweet, juicy, and straight from the island. Puerto Rico at it's most refreshing
End on a sweet note at a woman owned chocolate shop, sampling handcrafted bean-to-bar creations made with rich Puerto Rican cacao.

Wonderful tour of tasting different foods and learning about Puerto Rico's history. Our guide was great. I'd highly recommend this tour.
Not only did we eat some great food, but we learned a lot about the history of Puerto Rico. Desiree is an incredible guide. She is personable and interesting. She gave great recommendations and we learned so much!
Desi was an amazing tour guide. Loved the history she shared along with local recommendations and tips for our trip. We did the 9:30 tour and it was enough for breakfast and lunch and we walked away full. Enjoyed everything we got to try. Food and drinks were amazing. Would highly recommend while here in Puerto Rico.
Frances was amazing and is very knowledgeable about the history of both San Juan as well as PR! We had a blast on this tour and made a friend for life
Fantastic! Well-informed guide. Lots of great food and drink. Our favorite experience out of the 7 we took that week from our cruise and in San Juan.
This tour was excellent for learning about the history and culture of Puerto Rico, and the food and drinks were delicious! Our guide, Desi was very friendly and knowledgeable, and a delight to spend time with. Having taught about the history and culture of the Americas for over twenty years, I found the information shared to be accurate and enlightening!
A wonderful tour! A wonderful mix of history and amazing food and drinks! I would highly recommend this tour! We were able to experience this tour and have time to explore afterwards before reboarding our cruise ship! A wonderful port excursion!
It was a great experience with lots of history and food and drink of San Juan. Our guide was very passionate about Puerto Rican culture and history.
Amazing experience with Ann. She was funny, informative, personable, and just overall so fun with walk with. The food was delicious and it was so worth spending the money to have so many PR essentials while also having a cultural and historical experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience!
Last minute cancellation we were already at the meeting point. I understand things come up but at least cancel before people have arrived for the tour. (Meeting time was 9:15 AM, cancellation came in at 9AM)
Great experience to have a taste of Puerto Rico! Restaurants included in this tour were all high-quality. Ann Elizabeth was also a gracious guide. Would do it again!
Nari was an amazing tour guide and very thoughtful! This food tour is a must try when visiting San Juan! I don’t like coffee but Don Ruiz mixed with some sugar really tasted good! The Pina Colada was very good & strong @ Barrachina! All the different spots were cool and our tour guide was very knowledgeable!
We had a wonderful experience. Great, knowledgeable tour guide and delicious food. Enjoyed learning about the history and customs of Puerto Rico. Worth the cost and we left full. You will not go hungry! Would definitely recommend this tour!
It was absolutely worth it. Two tours in one. Lots of food and historical data. Definitely recommend
Ann was a fantastic host and the food tour along with her pointing out historical locations and providing insight as to other places to visit was really helpful. If going on the food tour, be prepared for a bit of walking and lots of great Puerto Rican culinary treats and experiences.
Absolutely loved the tour. The history was fun and the food and drinks were fantastic. I was expecting small portions like I’m used to on food tours, but that was not the case with this tour. Narai, my tour guide, was wonderful and so kind. Very knowledgeable and even stayed afterwards just to talk to us about random questions we had. Would highly recommend if you want a nice little history lesson along with some good food!
Ann Elizabeth was excellent. The tour was well paced, small group, had delicious food (enough for breakfast and lunch), and included seeing part of Old San Juan. It met the needs of historical information, culture via food, and familiarization with the Old City. Ann answered questions well beyond a “ food tour” scope. Would highly recommend.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and gracious asking often if anyone needed a break. He took his time explaining the history abd and waited patiently as we took pictures.
Wonderful, knowledgeable guide. Definitely all walking which we expected. Guide knew when to keep us in the shade, when to take a short break, etc... excellent introduction to history and food of PR. Best Pina Colada ever!
This an excellent way to learn the history of the island, visit some important landmarks and partake of outstanding food. Narais was a wonderful guide with great insight makings this tour a must do.
Our family (including three teenagers) had a great time eating our way through Old San Juan. We were very full in the end! Learning the history through food is a great way to tour a city. Our guide was knowledgeable and accommodating.
We fell in love with food tours a few years ago in Little Havana. This tour was informative and enjoyable. Don't expect appetizer size servers. The restaurants are very generous!
Lizbel was a great tour guide. Saw the highlights of San Juan and ate SO much delicious food. I would highly recommend this tour.
Wonderful tour. Excellent tour guide. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Highly recommend!
It was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was Narai and she was amazing! Very personable and knowledgeable. She took us to some great locations and shared a great variety of local food offerings.
Narais was wonderful and the tour is perfect for anyone wanting to take a bite out of San Juan. Perfect blend of culture, fun facts, and of course food!
We had such a great time with Desi as our guide! She gave us fabulous cultural and historical information. The food and drinks were amazing! Also she really helped out when we encountered a rain storm! She also gave the group any other recommendations for while we were in Old San Juan and surrounding areas. Highly recommend this tour. Thanks Desi!
Food was fabulous (and a lot!). Lots of history too. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very nice. More than happy with the tour and would highly recommend. Wear comfortable shoes.
Unfortunately this was cancelled at the last minute due to an emergency on the guides part. Thankfully, they put the spots in the description so I was able to do the tour just walking around old San Juan. I wish there would have been more notice for the cancelation. I am supposed to get a full refund. I can’t say if I’d recommend as I didn’t get to go on the tour.
Ann was an excellent tour guide! She set a good pace and added some thoughtful perspectives of her city. Food choices were awesome and gave us a good variety of authentic Puerto Rican dishes.
I ended up being the only guest on the tour this morning. It gave quite a bit of time for some side quest and deeper look into the old san juan area, inside a few buildings and the cathedral. Chocolatier was awesome! Guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and easy going, I definitely suggest booking!
The food was delicious! The sites were beautiful. The guide was nice. Out of the 4 hour food tour though, all the food was in the last hour and not spread out throughout the tour. My spouse, kids and I were definitely hungry by the time the "food" part of the tour started after all the walking and not eating much beforehand. The guide was also very difficult to hear to no fault of her own though. It was just busy and crowded.
This was the perfect intro to old San Juan so much fun and fabulous food
Great time guide was very knowledgeable and so nice. Great experience with the views and food was delicious!
Yizbel was awesome! Super knowledgeable history and good food. We went from 9:30-1:15 so it was a little long but overall very nice.
Desi was awesome. Very informative and great array of different foods.
Great food tour! You walk around parts of old San Juan and learn about the history and eat some good food. It was a nice mix of tourist list places and more “local” places. Desi our guide was fantastic.
Unfortunately our tour guide did not show up, and we did not receive any notification of a cancellation, so we had to spend time contacting the tour company who had no idea what happened. It also took 4 days to get confirmation of a refund.
We had a wonderful time exploring Old San Juan. Narai was a fabulous guide. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and made us all feel comfortable as we walked through Old San Juan. She shared the history of Puerto Rico and San Juan as well as the delicious food of this region. One of our favorite food tours.
Best city tour I have ever been on. Guide was very passionate about the city as she was in college for tourism. She gave us many details about the city, food, drinks and history of the island. Would recommend to anyone who can walk the city.
The tour lady was outstanding with her knowledge of the history of the island. She answered all of the questions and she was very professional and curtious.
My husband and I were part of group of 4 couples that had the lovely Sofia as a tour guide. We had an excellent experience. We been on food tours in other countries and this one was on par with those. Sofia was friendly, intelligent and well-spoken. The food and drink were excellent. All of the hosts were friendly, family-run businesses and they were happy to serve us. This was a good mix of history, culture and food. We highly recommend it.
Lizbel gave a wonderful tour and the food was delicious. She’s very knowledgeable about both the region and the history of local foods. I highly recommend this tour!
Great way to see old san juan, pace was a bit slow and tour guide was hard to understand as she has only been speaking English for 2 years.
Slow pace that shared some of the local stuff - coffee shop, pina colada, mufungo, empanada, chocolate etc. Would have liked to see/explore a bit more but it was nice overall.
This was a great tour. Lizbel was very knowledgeable and passionate about her home and kept our attention while showing the history of PR as we ate great food.
Narai was an incredible tour guide. So knowledgeable and explained so much history as we walked through San Juan. The food was SO much, make sure to come hungry! We had hot chocolate and a sweet bread pastry (because none of us drink coffee), then a pina colada from the original place it was created, then another pina colada, beef empanadas and mofongo with chicken. After walking a little more, we had a popsicle and then a gourmet chocolate bon bon and more hot chocolate. We couldn’t possibly eat all the food at every stop but definitely worth tasting it all. Overall an amazing experience and would highly recommend.
Be on time! Very hard to park if cruise ships are in port! Lots of traffic in San Juan! Lots of people walking about!
Mel from Devour tours was an excellent guide! Great food, sights & conversation. Definitely a must.
