No breakfast was told by 1 person you have to order breakfast by DoorDash and seen a guy come on elevator with dirty dishes and I asked him did they serve breakfast there he said yeah so they lied! Was hearing a banging in the roof all night surprised we even slept good maybe because we was so tired and booked in real late! Paid $170+ for the room with a $200 deposit and $55 was taken from the deposit!!! For what??? You service was a disgrace and we didn’t even do damage or ANYTHING to your room so what was the charge for??? I will be reporting to my bank to dispute

Excelente place ! Location essential ! Personnel was so great we came back to another stay days after ! Paola DP and Joshua were great receivers and they did their best to make me and my family feel welcomed. I will recommend this place to everyone and definitely I will come back again soon !
The hotel was very clean close too the downtown area of San Juan. I stayed in the room with sofa bed. The room is small but didn't seem that way on the website. They did a great job of showing angles of the area. It appeared big but its not. This room is more for a couple and small kids maybe two. But three adults noway. The shuttle bus too the beach have to be scheduled so be ready to hangout for five hours until next pickup. They tell u about fee equipment to be used on that beach trip is confusing. That needs too fixed. That pool on site is very cute for pictures but its made for small children not adults. The 24 hr store next door is awesome it has what u need. The breakfast service is cool but its the selections from the hotel. Please keep in mind order your meal 2 hrs before u leaving your room for a scheduled event The area is safe which is a plus. They do give free beach towels and kitchen equipment in the room. The room comes with the following iron and board, microwave, refrigerator, stove top and lock box. The restroom comes with a hot tube and the layout is pretty nice just SMALL. The staff is friendly which is great. The tours if u schedule one will not pick up from this hotel but major hotels are a 5min walk away which is nice. I used the aloft hotel which is a good pick up.
We loved our room at Ciqala. We got free breakfast every day during our stay. I was so happy our suite had a washer and dryer in it. There was a lot of places around us to eat and go to shop. The Walmart was half a mile down the street. The staff was great here. I loved the comfortable beds. This place was great! Thank you Ciqala for making our stay awesome in San Juan!
I booked Ciqala Inn & Suites with my father after seeing the beautiful photos and amenities listed online. The hotel advertised itself as a luxury suite in a safe residential area of San Juan, with free breakfast, laundry service, a rooftop pool, and modern rooms. We were excited for our stay — but the reality was very different. Hard to Find + Not Handicap Accessible The entrance is tucked away and partially hidden by trees. We passed it three times before finding it. The only way to the lobby is up a staircase, which is not handicap friendly. While checking in, my father also noticed a firearm under the counter — surprising for a hotel advertised as being in a “safe neighborhood.” Room & Hallway Condition Our room looked nothing like the listing photos. It was bare, undecorated, and had tile floors with no rugs. The hallways had cracked and broken tiles, and the smell of strong cleaner was overwhelming enough to give me a headache. Sofa Bed Issues The sofa bed was unusable. The mattress tipped backward, then folded over on top of me when I tried to sleep horizontally. I ended up folding it back into a couch and sleeping on it that way. Breakfast Not as Advertised The “free breakfast” was one egg ordered through a phone link. Even though our reservation was for two people, the system only allowed ordering for one. Every topping — cheese, onions, avocado, even an extra egg — cost extra. This was nothing like the full breakfasts shown in the listing photos. Laundry Problems The “laundry service” was a single washer and dryer for the entire hotel. The washer ate my father’s money three times, and the dryer malfunctioned twice. We lost an entire day dealing with it. Staff eventually washed his clothes for him, but they came back damp and some whites were tinted green. Rooftop: Nice View, Misleading Pool The rooftop view of San Juan was beautiful, but the “pool” was really a small hot tub next to a row of AC units. You can get great photos if you angle the camera upward. Friendly Staff The staff were kind and tried to help, especially with the laundry issues. They seemed genuinely surprised when we told them we were leaving early. We Left Two Days Early Between the misleading listing, the condition of the facilities, the breakfast situation, and the laundry problems, we left two days before our reservation ended, even though it meant losing money. Final Thoughts I understand that standards vary across countries, and I don’t expect everything to match mainland U.S. norms. The issue here was not Puerto Rico — it was that the listing overstated the hotel’s quality and amenities. I hope Ciqala updates its photos and descriptions so travelers can make an informed decision.
