Had the penthouse suite. Phone was broken. One TV is broken. One toilet trash can. And a $55 resort fee for one 10 foot pool. So none of that makes sense. Other hotels charge the fee for towels and amenities at the property. This property only has a pool that is shared with the restaurant, so public can use it so why charge $55?

Service at the hotel was fantastic, location was perfect and walkable to many hot spots! The rooftop restaurant was also very good, and the pool was great to cool off in the heat. The only downside was how slow the elevator was. Highly recommend anyone to stay here!
I would highly recommend this hotel. It was beautiful, well-decorated, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We were two adults staying for one night and honestly wished we could have stayed longer. The location was convenient, the café was excellent, and we absolutely loved the rooftop. We even used the rooftop space in the morning to get some work done, and the views were beautiful. We visited during the water issues in San Juan, but the hotel had a backup water system in place, and we experienced no disruptions during our stay. Overall, a wonderful experience, and we would definitely stay here again. We did stay the night they converted into a Marriott Autograph hotel. I hope the change doesn't impact the hotel!
Thank you for the hospitality during our stay from May 16–22. We enjoyed the location and the atmosphere of the hotel overall. One piece of feedback I wanted to share is regarding the pool area. The rooftop pool was not as convenient or relaxing to use as expected because it is located at the far end of the rooftop restaurant and feels very connected to the restaurant traffic and activity. Based on the listing and advertising, we expected a more private and dedicated hotel pool experience. For guests staying multiple days, this is something that could be communicated more clearly in the listing so expectations better match the actual setup. Other than that, we appreciated the stay and thank you again for hosting us.
If you're looking for a stay that feels intimate, stylish, and genuinely special, Alma in Old San Juan deserves to be at the very top of your list. My husband and I absolutely fell in love with this place, and we're already dreaming about when we can go back. Our room was a sanctuary. There was no window, which initially gave us pause, but it turned out to be one of our favorite things. The room was blissfully, completely dark, and we slept better than we have in years. Sometimes the unexpected quirk becomes the highlight. That said, if you're a light sleeper of a different kind, be aware that sound travels easily through the hallways, you'll catch snippets of other guests passing by. A small trade-off for an otherwise dreamy space. The café was an absolute gem. As for the rooftop restaurant and the downstairs dining room, we unfortunately didn't get the chance to experience them, they were only open for two days during our stay, and both were fully booked. We had no idea how popular they were with guests and locals alike! Hotel Alma has that rare quality of feeling like a secret you want to keep to yourself, but can't help shouting about.
