Marco, our tour guide, was amazing. Very knowledgeable about everything we spoke about. Marco even went above and beyond to help us spot the the Tapirs that had been seen around that day

Great experience. Wildlife was well taken care of and air tram was so peaceful. Paid extra for a tour guide which was Katherine. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Do plan on coming ahead of time. I stayed in San Jose and it took almost 2 hours to get there and 2hrs coming back due to traffic.
A fine, quiet and comfortable way to See the Jungle from a different angle. Unfortunately there was no Guide as booked.
A little disappointed. Didn’t see anything other than couple of birds. Tram ride itself was ok I guess. Lots of stops made it little annoying.
Jaime is a great guide. Extremely knowledgeable.. one of the best I’ve had anywhere in the world. So awesome
It was an amazing experience in its entirety, including the aerial tram ride in the rain, the quietness, the grounding feeling of peacefulness, fresh air, and the comfortably slow transit through the rainforest allowed us to fully embrace this meaningful adventure. We felt like sloths - living in and embracing the moment. Having a stroll through the exhibits, the butterfly conservatory, the snake exhibit, and especially the sloth habitat and exhibit were all eye openers for us. The guide for the sloth enclosure took the time to explain in both Spanish and in English to ensure we all understood, and was both passionate and knowledgeable. This opportunity to experience the rainforest firsthand lived up to its name and exceeded our expectations.
This is a nice place and a fun way to spend an afternoon, the aerial tram is relaxing and the other facilities are good. There are multiple restrooms, a restaurant, shop, animal exhibits, and hiking trails. We enjoyed the trails and the food at the restaurant was good.
That they should be sure to choose option with naturalist. Otherwise they will miss much of what the experience offers.
We loved the gondola ride through the forest. Our naturalist guide shared so much fascinating info. And we saw toucans, hummingbirds & a coati!
We arrived at 9:30am our reservation was for 10am. There were a lot of people and it took a minute to go from reception parking lot to get to where the tours were dispatched. We get to the desk and get our wrist bands and they direct us to the tram. I told them we had a reservation with an English guide. They asked us to sit and wait. We waited about 20min when the guide arrived and introduced himself there was another couple that would be in the group and he announced that we would start on our hike. I am a disabled person and said that I did not request to go on a hike.they told us to have a seat and I figured that another guide would take us on the air tram. After an hour and a half of waiting I asked when were we going on the air tram and was told that when the guide comes back from the hike we would board the tram. Upset that it was almost noon and we were still sitting there I asked if we were to be in that group wouldn’t it have been more logical that we do the air tram first and the hike could be after and we could be on our way. The woman kept trying to show me that my reservation did not indicate that I was handicapped. I tried numerous time to explain that we shouldn’t have had to wait all that time when we all could have went on the air tram first then they could continue with their hike and we would be on our merry way. All she had in mind was to keep telling me that it wasn’t indicated that I was handicapped. She kept missing the point I was trying to make. I got very angry and frustrated that because she was trying to express her view that she wasn’t listening to anything I said. She then said, very condescendingly, so what are you going to do.i asked are you going to refund our money and she said I was too upset and she would come back later when I calmed down. It doesn’t take a genius to see that there were 4 people in our group 4 that were going on the air tram and 2 for the hiking. What should have been done , and it’s the most logical was to do the tram portion first so all 4 could enjoy then the party with the handicap person can leave but no. She did the opposite and had us wait almost 2 hours while the other party went hiking. As the supervisor or whatever her tiitle was, should have used a little more common sense.
It was very well organised and adventurous experience! We saw tucanos, woodpecker, tapir, sloth, coatis and other animals in their natural environment. Pablo is a wonderful guide, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The other staff were very kind too. My husband tried the zip line and was charmed by that experience. Highly recommend this trip.
Great day - we had a wonderful guide, Catherine, who taught us so much about the flora and fauna as we rode on the aerial tram and explored the trails.
This is a good trip and the aerial tram was a very good experience. The two stars ( if possible even more stars) taken off cause of the tour guide. Not sure of her name. Since we started in the van which is a 15 seater (with closed space), she was talking so loud that it gave all of us a headache. We even mentioned to lower her voice once when we started the trip. We started back from the park to San Jose at 150 pm and unfortunately the traffic was so bad that it took us 3 hrs+ to reach our hotel back and she was talking loud this whole way. The whole 3 hours——, so loud. Imagine you stuck in a van and someone talking loud in a language you dont understand for 3 long hours.. It was soooo soooo annoying which made our day feel like a punishment than a pleasant expwrience.
The experience was okay, especially if you want to learn more about rain forests, and Costa Rican culture and their produce, their economy, and other details, etc. I wish that animal seeing was also included in this, but this was more about rain forests. Zip lining is another activity you can do here, but need to purchase separately, might be good to book ahead if you are coming here anyway. Took more than 7 hrs. The tour was advertised as 3 hrs + travel. What I didn’t like is the last minute sign up by someone on our tour for zip lining and that made the whole tour to wait another hour and half to get back, this delayed us all. Otherwise, our Tour guide was good, knowledgeable and explained everything well in English.
Tour guide Malvin was great and very knowledgeable. I will definitely recommend. The only issue we had was going back to San Jose, the traffic was crazy. A 50 miles trip back took us about 4hrs
Terrible, not what they are selling. Animals were caged, walk was on concrete, tram was not guided. (Boring) This was a school group of 96 students end of the year trip. Total waste of time and money.
The Rainforest Adventure Park was ok! The guide Marvin was knowledgeable and gave us a through tour! We wanted to see Sloths and he found us one! The drawback on our tour was the transport. We were in the same car as other tourist who did zipline and our tram Ariel tour, which means we had to wait 2 extra hours in the park before going home. The park doesn’t have other activities besides zipline. I wish we didn’t have to wait the 2 extra hours.
Marvin was our guide and he was outstanding! He is very knowledgeable and very passionate of nature!! We saw a tapir, parrot, monkeys and many others insects, amphibians, etc that Marvin and his keen ears/eyes could identify. I wouldn’t go unless Marvin was your guide.
We visited the Braulio Carillo National Park / aerial tram last week, and we had a marvelous time. It was our first excursion of the vacation, and we were lucky to be paired with Marvin as our guide. He provided an outstanding overview of the primary / secondary rainforest ecosystems, showing us a wide variety of wildlife on the property, including bats hiding under fern leaves, toucans, red eyed tree frogs (adult, juvenile, tadpoles), and capuchin monkeys. He also educated us on what to look for so that we could more thoroughly enjoy the rest of our time in country. For the rest of our trip, we'd say "well Marvin said..." and do likewise. We are grateful for his expertise and the passion he showed on our tour. Unforgettable.
We had a good time in spite of a downed tree that delayed our tour and a rain storm. The storm was actually kind of cool given we were in a rainforest, but probably diminished the number of animals we saw. Regardless we did see a sloth and some monkeys and toucans. Our guide Celimo was great and so knowledgeable about all the plants and animals. It is a great way to see the rain forest in that part of the world.
Interesting facts about the rainforest from top to bottom. So much that i did not know. Excellent guide
We had to wait as they were late picking us up and then another group traveling with us had more activities planned so we had to sit and do nothing for 3 hours while we waited for them so we could depart.
Nazareth was an AMAZING tour guide. I’ve never had a tour guide who was so informative and knowledgeable. She was extremely friendly and thought me so much. The Tram is such a great alternative to viewing more of the forest. Highly recommend.
Our guide for the tram ride was exceptional. She had a wide range of knowledge about the forest and easily answered our questions. When we encountered her throughout the rest of our time there she offered us more information about what we were seeing. Lunch at the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. Pick-up at the hotel and return went smoothly. Important to be aware that you have to wait for other passengers to finish their activities before the shuttle leaves to take you back to San Jose. We were booked for a half day, finished about noon but had to wait until 4:00 in the afternoon to leave. This info is not included in any description that I saw before booking, only noted in another person’s comment.
A wonderful tour! Our guide Adriana was extremely knowledgeable and the National Park is absolutely beautiful. The tram took about an hour and the views were out of this world. We opted to include the transportation option, and it ended up being more of a full day than half day experience, but we loved every moment. Would highly recommend!
Highly recommended. A great and unique experience. The guide and driver have been most king and gone to great extent to make us both comfortable and enjoy the trip.
Marvin was spectacular!!!! Enjoyed every minute because of him. Good with a guide may miss stuff otherwise.
We had a great day with Ranger James and his knowledge about the rainforest and its animals was phenomenal. He brought the forest to life for us. He has even met and guided David Attenborough and showed us photos of his visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip in the tram high up in the forest. This lady’s 90 minutes. Had a delicious lunch which we paid $12 including drinks. Great value. We will remember this day for a long time to come.
The tour guide was great with knowledge. The national forest was excellent with the animals and the levels of the rainforest. The Tram was the best!
Tour was great! Didn’t have an actual guide from the company we booked the tour with and our driver didn’t speak any English but we got along well. However, Our guide at Braulio Carilla was Marvin and He was AWESOME! Great tram tour and Marvin was super knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.
The park is beautiful. Very lush and lots of wildlife to see. This is where we saw our first sloth encounter. It was magnificent. Kathryn our guide was very knowledgeable. The tram ride was fun and very informative.
What a great trip into the rainforest! You begin by learning on the ground level about the rainforest flora (orchids), butterflies, and reptiles. Then you view the mid-level canopy by aerial tram, and the return of the tram, you are at the top canopy level making for an immersive adventure. Marvin was our fabulous, funny, and knowledgeable guide. We also stayed and had a traditional Costa Rican lunch buffet afterwards making it the perfect half-day trip.
Float above the trees and spot a wide variety of flora, fauna, birds and animals! The colors are spectacular as is the view. Excellent guide!
We booked the aerial tram experience and were looking out for this - at first sight - excited activity. Sadly, we were very disappointed in our expectations. We didn’t see any animal or bird during the whole trip, only 3 butterflies… I understand one cannot predict the presence of animals, but this was below everything. Further, the price for the tram was ca. 250 US dollar for 4 adults, far above what is reasonable for an a activity that has an outdated look and feel. Spare your money for the La Paz Waterfall Gardens, which is a little bit less expensive but a 5 star activity. PS. The one star is for the personnel in the park, they were very kind and made the best of it.
We didn't see any wildlife while on the tram except for butterflies. Not even a single bird. I was disappointed. The best part of the experience was seeing a pack of Coati while we were waiting for our shuttle back.
The aerial tram and trail hikes were awesome ! Our tour guide was very thorough with interesting information about plants and biodiversity.
Loved the tour and Pablo our guide was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The only downside was timing. We were picked up at our hotel exactly on time but when I signed up for the tour it stated we would be back to our location by 4pm. We had a meeting to attend at 5 pm so I felt the timing would be fine. We were not back to the hotel until 5:30 and missed our commitment. I would not have signed up if I knew this ahead of time. This was a group tour and there were five different hotels we had to drop folks off before we got to our destination. In the future I recommend you do not put a return time unless you plan to keep to the time frame. I don’t think I would sign up for a group experience again as so much time was spent traveling to so many hotels. On the positive side our guide was excellent and very attentive to the group and I enjoyed the park and tram ride.
Overall it was a great experience. Seeing the rain forest up close and personal is a must see! James was an amazing guide and we learned a lot. The only reason it’s not 5 star is the wait time. If you go with someone who is doing a different tour you have to wait to be brought back together. We waited over 2 hours for one person. Then caught A LOT of traffic back. It ended up being a 11 hour day that was suppose to be 6. But as I stated earlier the experience was great but the description is misleading with the time, they should note if we are doing different tours or pick up people based on the tours they are doing.
Unfortunately, after we arrived the tram broke down and we were not able to take the ride up into the cloud forest which was the reason we booked this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. And we saw a tapir which is quite unusual. It was within 7' of us and did not seem to be bothered by us. The butterfly tent was great and we also saw a sloth. We were reimbursed 100% of the cost of this adventure due to the tram breakdown.
An experience of a lifetime. James is an amazing guide - passionate and knowledgeable. 100% recommended
Our tour guide Moses was awesome. He was very knowledgable and friendly. It is a beautiful place and very relaxing, educational tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed the aerial tram and saw a sloth, toucan and numerous blue morpho butterflies. Our guide in the van on the way there and the guide on the tram and around the grounds were both great
Tram ride was very nice. Our guide, Moises, was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything. We saw a couple of birds, but no other wildlife on the tram. We did see the very lush rain forest. Walking around the park we saw the frogs and snakes and butterflies in the caged exhibits. The lunch buffet was quite good and dining area picturesque.
Jonathan was a great tour guide very knowledgeable and friendly, I’ll definitely go back in the near future for another great excursion and I’ll be trying the zip line
Our guide showed us around with an enthusiasm that really drove our impression of the overall experience. The cable card ride over and through the forrest was very relaxing. There wasn't a ton of wildlife, but it was nice and you feel the ecosystem around you. The exhibits with butterflies, snakes, frogs, and orchids were a little lack-luster. The hummingbird field was the one highlight that turned out to be good. It was just an area with lots of flowers, but they definitely were working as hummingbird attractants.
The Ariel trolley and the guide who narrated and explained eloquently. A trip worth it’s value. Would recommend you take this tour and the company attends to its customers. Great weather.
Today my tour was led by a wonderful scholar who knew so much about all the flora and fauna and birds insects and animals of the rainforest. He explained everything in detail and showed us ways how all the nature in the forest was interconnected. How fabulous that was to experience all of this. The nature walk and tour should not be missed if you are looking for a true learning experience experiences in the Costa Rican rainforest. The tram and other things were fun also.
Our tour guide Martin was great at explaining and showing us the hidden gems within the forest. The aerial tram ride was an amazing sight and experience.
This tour was fantastic. Seen a lot of wiidlife and our tour guide was extremely knowledgable. had a wonderful time. Would recommend this tour.
Aerial tram on 3 levels of rainforest. Views were amazing. It was fascinating to see the trees. The guide was knowledgeable about the different trees and plants. Only drawback was having to wait extra time for those who had added a zip line option to the tour. They should have had to choose between that and the hikes.
