We had a nice day with Max who was friendly and very knowledgeable. Sadly Poas was totally shocked in on our day but that's life in the mountains sometimes.

Itinerary
To embark on this tour we will take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela. En route we will see the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the popular Mango Park. Then we will continue to The Poas Volcano National Park, where we will have 20 minutes to enjoy the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, **as per National Volcanic Security Bureau **
Next, after visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a scrumptious lunch at Doka Coffee Plantation. Then we will continue our trip through the fern, flower and strawberry farms taking in the scenic vistas along the way. As we descend from the Poas Volcano we will stop to learn more about our golden bean, which is a term used to describe the unique and savory coffee of Costa Rica. Then we will be treated to a coffee tour in an actual coffee plantation to learn the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce some of the best coffee in Costa Rica and around the world. The careful process involved in the cultivation, harvesting & roasting of the Golden Bean , finally we will savor the delectable product.
The third stop is the town of Grecia, considered one of the cleanest towns in Latin America.
The last stop along the way is the town of Sarchi, known as the cradle of Costa Rican artisans

Reviews
All 3 tours we took were very good. But we think this was the best. Because the tour guide/driver, was Roger. Some tour guides just make it much better. This was a lot of territory to cover, and it did not disappoint. Got up to Poaz early, as we did, and you have a chance to see the volcano without the clouds/mist. Gorgeous. Doka coffee plantation was very interesting, came away with a much better knowledge of the production process, and appreciated the education. Another great lunch before we headed to Grecia, Sarchi. Seeing those 2 towns was really special, the Metal Red Church in Grecia, and the Ox Cart Factory in Sarchi. Wouldn't mind going back and spending time in those places. Just some final thoughts about the tours and company: Tour pickups were always on time! But it can still be a long day. Traffic in and around SJO has a lot to do with length of day. Shoot for a weekday, our last tour had only 4 people. Take a water bottle. Rain coat may be needed. Comfy shoes.
Our guide Kaylee and driver Oscar gave a personalized attention that made the experience fun and educational. Highly recommended.
Volcano crater can be obscured by fog but our guide recommended waiting and after waiting a fee minutes the fog cleared and the crater was visible. Worth the wait.
Mario was very informative & helpful. Excellent tour guide. We will recommend him to others. Thank you Mario
Me and my family had a great time. Jesus was a great tour guide. We did not get to see the crater due to the clouds but it was still a great experience. Highly recommend.
Loved the tour! My original tour got cancelled last minute and was moved to this one, wasn’t sure what I signed up for but it was exceptional. Jairo was an amazing tour guide! Learned a lot and truly a wonderful experience. Friendly note, if you get car sick be sure to bring something to help.
I was initially worried because there were only a few reviews but it was the only tour that included Grecia and Sarchi which had a couple of things I wanted to see. I am so glad I did it! Eric our guide was so great and really knowledgeable. The best all week. Juan Carlos was our driver and really friendly and a great driver.
The guide Eric, and the driver ( I can’t remember his name) were so great, there was tons of information given out about Costa Rica on the drive up to the volcano- I was the only one on the tour that day that needed English and Eric made sure I was included and didn’t miss out on anything. I would tour with the company again but specifically Eric if possible
The day before the tour we were contacted that we could either keep sane rate and do half tour or pay extra for a different tour (due to not enough on the tour) felt a bit bait and switch - we paid the extra (cash) and all in all really enjoyed the experience
A fabulous tour and the experience at the coffee plantation was very good. 100% quality food
Guides are indispensable on these tours. I had the privilege of having Pablo Rodríguez. The knowledge and depth of his conversations, his flexibility, and kindness elevated the experience. Regarding the visits, the Poas was spectacular - but the big surprise was the visit to the oxcart company in Sarchí - it was a great experience.
Amazing! Max is a great guide and we could enjoy all the places we visited in very good weather
Thanks to our guide Aaron, a real open book, we spent a magical, informative and revealing day of lush and preserved vegetation! Thanks again to our kind and generous guide in the face of our insatiable curiosity! Sylvaine, Sara and Michel
An experience worth living at least once in your life.
I actually did the combo tour of Doka, Poas and waterfall peace. Excellent activity. All the beautiful places. Even the scenery from the van. The excellent company.
