Charles is the man! He helped every step along the way with planning and delivering the best experience in Costa Rica for us. We were a family of 14, ranging from 2 years old to75 years old, he knew how to interact with everyone. He made us feel welcomed and was extremely insightful and cheerful. He took us all over the country from San Jose-La Fortuna-Monteverde-Playa Conchal. We don’t do repeat trips but we are definitely coming back to Costa Rica and one of the main reasons is because of Charles and his great company.

Charles is the man! From pre-booking, to payment, pick up, drop off, and all the stops in between. I have never experienced such luxury and personality in a "transportation" company before. I put that in air quotes because what Charles provides is so much more than that. Get ready for great conversation, impeccable service, and good times. Superb service- Charles was amazing from the beginning of planning across the country throughout our trip - arrival to the end. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the country, highly trustworthy and ensured that we enjoyed our family time in Costa Rica. Charles is amazing person and he really knows what he is doing! I really appreciate how helpful he was. We had an incredible time in Costa Rica thank to him and amazing drivers, especially Raúl. Best experience and worth every dollar spent and then some! We booked this trip to Costa Rica with very little lead in time, and could not rent a car, so we realized we needed car and driver service from point A to B to C and so on. After a bit of research, we found Baqueano Tours. The communication with owner Charles prior to the trip already brought us a sense of ease and comfort. He was knowledgeable, helped us choose destinations, provided exact information about times and places, and made the payment process easy. Once we got here, we were treated to first-class cars and drivers who did not just arrive on time, but early. The drivers were flexible, friendly, expert and flexible with any/all requests. I cannot say enough about our positive experiences here! And driving is no easy task in Costa Rica. There are rough roads in places, no shoulders sometimes, and people who rented cars told us of the need to add insurance. Once you are in destinations, getting around is relatively easy, so with service like this available, you can see many destinations hassle free. Not to mention, you can be a spectator, take a nap, and arrive refreshed at your destinations. I’m not sure if all car & driver experiences in Costa Rica or elsewhere would be this convenient and positive, but I can tell you, as a former travel industry professional, Baqueano Tours is a top-notch operation!

What a fantastic company!!! The outstanding reviews do not lie. Charles and his drivers took excellent care of my family (me, a senior lady, 3 millenials and a 5 year old) for our first trip to Costa Rica! This operation is top-notch from the sparkling clean van they picked is up in to the professionalism of their drivers. Absolutely made our trip worry-free and so safe. We were picked up at the airport late at night and driven through the windy, rainy roads to La Fortuna by an amazing and kind driver. Charles checked with me constantly to see how we were doing. They will make your trip seamless. Highly recommend!

My mom and I were in Costa Rica for a total of two weeks and had about 3 long (4+ hour) journeys to make from city to city, so we booked The Baqueano after reading a few TripAdvisor reviews. I would give this company 10 stars if I could. The attention to detail and customer service was gold standard. The drivers are experienced and bilingual, and very knowledgeable about the nature and wildlife along the ride. The prices are reasonable and I will definitely book this car service again when traveling back to Costa Rica. A very special shout out to Gus/Gonzo, who turned a 7 hour car ride into a fun tour and wonderful experience!

I found Charles here on trip advisor and it probably was the best thing i did that day!!!!! He is punctual, polite, professional, Which I call the Three P's!!! So If you get the 3 P's you have to be excellent and exceed my expectations which he did and more!!! I don't know how we would got around this beautiful place without him. He also went above and beyond with helping us get covid test which wasn't in his job description but he still played the part! We had just three days with Charles, but he managed to squeeze in over a week's worth of activities! Charles was always full of energy and excitement for the day's plans and was always on time and exceptionally prepared for everything. He scheduled us a wonderful combination of the most popular tourist locations and some of the more hidden local spots, which we immensely enjoyed. He is also a great filmographer/photographer and was so happy to capture our journey for us. Charles is also was great at finding delicious food for us to enjoy! We could not recommend him more!

My daughter and I traveled to Costa Rica for Christmas 2020, as the country reopened to tourism with appropriate COVID-19 restrictions. Although we were tempted to rent a car, friends who did so discouraged us. I found The Baqueano through Tripadvisor, and based on the description of services and the positive reviews, I contacted Charles for availability and suggestions. My daughter wanted to travel from our hotel in San José to Manuel Antonio National Park, to the Monteverde Cloud Forest and to Rio Celeste. Charles was very helpful with suggestions for which day to visit which attraction, with what time to leave to avoid traffic and crowds (Spoiler: it's very early), and which specific attractions to visit in each place. He is very responsive to emails. Charles has a large network of friends and associates in the country, and was able to get us private guides for Manuel Antonio and Rio Celeste, and each was extremely knowledgeable as to the fauna and flora and the history of the places. We saw bats, hummingbirds, sloths, monkeys, snakes and more, we hiked, visited beaches, hot springs and waterfalls, walked sky bridges and ziplined, all in the course of our three days. Charles was always with us or waiting for us, and always had a suggestion for where to go next or where to eat (my daughter is vegan - a challenge in many places). He was always punctual, always had fruit and beverages available, and importantly in 2020, always wore a mask and had hand sanitizer available in the vehicle. He is friendly and easygoing, and has a wonderful knowledge of all things Costa Rica. Choosing The Baqueano made our trip much more special, and I would not hesitate to recommend Charles and his company to anyone.
