Wow — this tour was AMAZING! Yes, it’s a long day, but I think it’s really well-paced. It’s honestly such an amazing deal to get hotel pickup, 2 included meals, plus seeing a ton of animals and the ziplining activity. Plus, it’s a nice bonus to not have to worry about driving or where to park. Our guide, Fernando, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He remembered our names and was able to answer all kinds of questions our group had. After getting picked up in the morning, we stopped by a coffee farm, where we were actually able to go out in the field and see the coffee. Fernando showed us the different stages of coffee, from the plant, to the dried bean, to the husks, to the roasted coffee found in stores. Then we moved on to a viewpoint for La Paz waterfall. The waterfall is right off the roads so there’s no hiking required. After that, we stopped by another place to get some coffee, see some birds, and see another waterfall from afar. We even made a random stop and were able to see sloths and toucans in some trees! In another area, we saw some iguanas. After that, we stopped for lunch and then moved on to the volcano viewpoint and hot springs. At this point, the group split into the ziplining and the not-ziplining people. We were able to get a photo package from the ziplining place, which was very affordable! After ziplining, we joined the rest of the group at the hot springs before heading out to dinner and back to the San Jose area. We were dropped off just before 8pm, taking us to a grand total of about 13 hours.

Discover several beauties of Costa Rica in a single day, on this Arenal Volcano Mega Combo Tour. You will be picked up in the morning from your San Jose Hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. Then drive along the less-traveled “scenic route” to Arenal, with great views of volcanoes, plantations, waterfalls, jungles, and local towns. En route to Arenal, stop in a coffee plantation where your guide will show you the coffee plants, and will give you a briefing about coffee in Costa Rica (coffee degustation will be provided in a rustic restaurant later on).
Continue your tour with a stop at the famous La Paz Waterfall, one of the most famous natural attractions in Costa Rica. At this attraction, you will be able to admire the pristine Rainforest environment that surrounds the waterfall, and you will have the chance to take pictures of it for a few minutes.
Shortly after another stop will be made at the San Fernando Waterfall look-out point, where you can take pictures of this natural wonder and admire the exotic bird’s gallery that includes several species of hummingbirds. Enjoy a cup of freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee while admiring the amazing waterfall, accompanied by traditional local snacks that Costa Rican people normally eat with their coffee.
The next stop will be at the Iguanas Center, where you will be able to see several of these rainforest animals at eye level in their natural habitat from a bridge viewing point, and you will also go to a place nearby where sloths are normally observed in the wild.
Following you will savor a hearty lunch of authentic Costa Rican Cuisine in a restaurant near the impressive Arenal Volcano. Then, explore the Rainforest Jungles on a two-hour zip lining adventure that includes a total of 7 cables, a 150 feet high rappel line over the Arenal River, and a short indigenous tribe presentation where you will learn about the culture and traditions of the Maleku People of this region.
Continue this perfect day of adventure and sightseeing by relaxing for a couple of hours at the thermal mineral waters of Paradise Hot Springs and Gardens, where you will find small pools, Jacuzzis, and cascading waterfalls on larger lagoons, all surrounded by the most beautiful tropical gardens. After soaking in the hot springs, you will head back to your San Jose Hotel and will have a delicious dinner in a Costa Rican typical restaurant on route.

The experience was lovely our tour guide, Fernando, what above and beyond to make sure you safe and being able to see so many stops in one day. 10/10 do this if you have a short amount of time and want to see everything

We joined the daily Arenal Volcano tour. Throughout the journey, our guide provided us with very valuable information on all sorts of topics and helped us spot interesting animals. He was very kind and attentive. The planning and timing of the tour were also excellent. I would definitely recommend it.
The guide and driver were amazing! They tried to show the most out of it on our way up north. Shared many geographical knowledge and sightseeing of the nature wonders. Will recommend to tell people to bring snacks to eat on the ride as it is long. The indigenous part felt a bit off..
Awesome trip. Was a total of about 15 hours from start to finish. Our guide, Marco, was very knowledgeable and freindly. The driver, Ronald, was great and safe. The stops were great and there was no one trying to sell anything additional. The zip line was super fun and the hot springs were bery relaxing. Highly recommend!
We had an excellent experience on this tour! Our guide, Fernando, was absolutely fantastic. He was personable, kind, energetic, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made the entire experience enjoyable, and it was clear that our safety was always a top priority. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly from beginning to end. One thing worth mentioning is that this particular tour does not take you to the base of the volcano. However, you do get to enjoy beautiful views of it from a distance. The hot springs were a wonderful way to end the day, allowing us to unwind and enjoy the different naturally heated thermal pools. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely recommend this tour, especially with Fernando as your guide!

This experience was very worthwhile. Our tour guide Alex was very attentive and friendly. It was a full day excursion with so much to see and do. The price was a little pricey but it included lunch and dinner with access to hot springs and zip lining.
Such an amazing experience. Our tour guide Guillermo was really nice accommodating and funny! Definitely a long day but 100 hours worth it. I wanted to shout out Miguel angel and go adventure zip line. He was amazing I was bawling my eyes out scared on the verge of throwing up and he was so sweet to me. Calmed me down reassured me and walked me right off the ledge and made sure to be the one to taxi me down the zip line so I felt better (I have a fear of height but it’s not bad at all!) he truly was the saving grace to my excursion! The hot springs were amazing and food was delicious!

fernando is well experienced driver /tour guide as he’s very knowledgeable about the country and every question asked was answered willingly and informatively. He was very helpful, kind and would go above and beyond to attend to our requests . The trip in itself is more than enjoyable and worth it! loved the inclusive coffee with cheese and tortilla the delish lunch and dinner and fresh healthy fruit juices. All of it i enjoyed and made me fall in love in costa rica as well with the beautiful luscious forest volcano and plantations
We had such an amazing time on this tour, you definitely get your moneys worth! Our tour guide Steven was amazing. You could tell he loved his job with the way he shared the culture of Costa Rica on the ride to La Fortuna. We even made a stop to see sloths! He gave us picture recommendations and even took pictures for us as well! All of the stops were jaw dropping. The coffee, juice, snacks and meals were all delicious! The zipline was incredible, and the tour guides were amazing as well, made you feel safe and secure throughout the experience. The Maleku village demonstration was a great way to end the zipline! And the hot springs were the perfect way to end the adventure, a nice way to relax! Definitely book here for a once in a lifetime experience!

Overall great day! Fernando did a great job communicating the tour itinerary and plan for the day, as well as providing us with cultural and historical facts about Costa Rica. Fernando coordinated dropping my group off for our zip line adventure while the remaining participants did something else. The soak at the hot springs was the perfect way to end the day! We had heavy rain for ~2 hours while we were driving, but it cleared up so our afternoon activities were dry.
This was a fun activity-packed day! Opportunities to see a little of everything- coffee, waterfall, history, wildlife! The crew at the zip lining place was great and we had a lot of fun even though it was raining! It’s a long day so plan ahead!
The experience was amazing. From morning to night each step of the plan was seamless. Tour including several places like coffee plantations, la Paz waterfall, zip lining and the hot springs. Obi and Randall were the best part of the trip navigating us throughout the pacific side of Costa Rica.

It's a long day, but you see a lot and it's well worth the money. You might not see the volcano because weather, but that does not detract from the experience. Our guide Fernando was informative and friendly. Would recommend as a day trip out of San Jose!

This was an amazing experience! Osvaldo was our tour guide, and Carlos was the driver, and they were both so nice and funny! Osvaldo taught us so much about Costa Rica, and Carlos made sure to slow down and stop for us to take plenty of pictures.
Definitely recommend taking this day trip! We had a blast with Alex as our guide! The ziplining was so fun! The hot springs were immaculate and so relaxing. Alex spotted macaws, toucans and a sloth while driving and he stopped so we were able to get some great pictures. He was also very knowledgeable. 5 stars!
