Kc Hotel San Jose

This is definitely not a four-star hotel. While the property is pleasant enough, it is significantly overpriced and falls well short of four-star standards in terms of its facilities, service, and staff. The online photos are misleading, as both the rooms and the common areas look much nicer online than in reality. The pool is much smaller than depicted and has only a handful of sunbeds. The rooms are cold (I had to ask a blanket as only a light cover is provided) and rather dark and grey. The bathrooms and hallways are small and feel somewhat dated. The gym is tiny, with only very basic, old equipment. The TV offers almost exclusively Spanish-language channels, with only a couple of English channels showing cartoons. The hotel also has no elevator, which can be inconvenient for guests with heavy luggage, and the staff did not offer any assistance. The guy at the reception was impolite and spoke almost no English. The hotel also required a credit card as a guarantee at check-in, which was unexpected in my experience and was not mentioned in advance.

Beautiful hotel, very nice staff, comfortable beds, heated pool, fully equipped gym, great downtown Sabana Sur location and the breakfast is amazing. I’ve stayed in many hotels in San Jose before, but this one is the best by far.

We stayed for 3 nights and were very satisfied. I really enjoyed having breakfast next to the swimming pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Basic gym is available.

We're staying here now for one night as part of a tour with Exodus. It feels like a suburban 3* hotel which is just clinging on to it's 3rd star. The pool and restaurant are fine and characterful. Our GF room is large but a bit 'tired' and gloomy. Staff have been great, food was good. I don't know what we're paying but if I'd researched this I doubt I'd be staying here and if we stay here for our return journey it will feel like a poor end to what I'm hoping will be a wonderful holiday. The reviews by people using words like 'beautiful' are probably fake.
