We stayed in the Colonial Suite and the room was very clean, very beautiful, and quite large. The property is right on the Mopan River with stunning views from the shared terrace. There is a small restaurant and bar, with two entree options each evening. We had a delicious plantain crusted fish and a wonderful chicken in a pineapple compote. The sides were delicious too- it was my first time trying chayote and it was cooked perfectly. This is not a large resort but it’s very well done and truly has spectacular view of the river. It’s a tiny bit of the beaten path, but so is everything in Belize.

The Mahogany Hall was an absolute gem for my family of 10. We booked this resort on Airbnb and had the whole thing to ourselves. The bar and restaurant downstairs by the pool was perfect for food and drinks while relaxing in the sun. We had breakfast and dinner here. Jose made a delicious Cadillac Margarita and Marsha and her staff were very accommodating. The best part of the Mahogany Hall was it's location on the river. It was was the highlight of our stay. The river was perfect for our family to cool down and relax. Our stay at the Mahogany Hall was magical and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Cayo district of Belize. Thank you!
We had the best stay at Mahogany Hall! We stayed for five nights and truly savored every moment of it. The riverfront location was incredibly beautiful and relaxing, and we looked forward to waking up to the river each morning and returning at the end of each day. Our room was beautiful--so many details were curated by the staff each day. The food was great! The staff was wonderful! Everyone was so kind and welcoming and we loved chatting with Jose about our daily adventures. We had a rental car which was very useful for going into San Ignacio and beyond. Mahogany Hall serves as an excellent base for nearby activities, including popping over to Guatemala, checking out Caracol, driving Hummingbird Highway, chocolate tours and many other nature reserves/national parks. There are endless things to do in the area and you will be rewarded with a home away from home at Mahogany Hall! We couldn't recommend it more and we won't forget our stay!
we just spent one night at Mahogany Hall and wish it could have been a week! Set the the heart of Bullet Tree Falls village the hotel is a buzz with both tourists and locals enjoying the rapid clear water river. Bring water booties so you truly explore the river - it’s incredible!! The pool at the hotel is designed to make it feel like it flows right into the hill into the river. Well done! The rooms were sweet old world charm!! Loved them. We stayed on the second floor with a drawling wood floor verandah. Glorious! Also, the food is simply stupid incredible!! A wee bit pricey but oh so worth it. Drinks were pricey too but strong - wow!! (I’m local so prices may seem higher to me. Maybe not to someone traveling in). Everyone we met was chill - not overly fakey hotel vibes. More just informative and helpful when needed. This place is totally unique amongst the Belize hotel world. Most of our spots work hard to achieve a spa vibe of pristine levels remote from local culture and vibes. This spot does not do that! It’s more of a mix of dialed in style from New Orleans blended with local Belizean flavor. Being the village is a great vibe too. And that river is beyond anything! And all the doors in the building blew my mind. My only suggestions to the owners is to figure out more sustainable waste control. I know it’s tough in Belize but we can do it! And also, offer water bootie loans for people to get to the river island and clean any litter on the island. It can be a great way for guests to help give a little TLC to our country. (Litter and plastic pollution is all over Belize not just here - so this is not a slight to Mahogany Hall). You should by all means book your next get away here. So glorious!
We booked this last minute room and got an amazing deal on it. Absolutely worth the value! It is a bit out of town, so be prepared to walk about 15 minutes to a restaurant on a dirt road, get a taxi, or rent a car. Food and drinks at the Hall were delicious. A bit spendy for the area, but that is to be expected since it's a boutique resort. Pool was beautiful. Shower was warm. They helped arrange taxis and even a transport to the airport. Very reasonably priced. Breakfasts were so delicious. A wonderful, peaceful stay! Jose was incredibly nice and accommodating. The lady who served us breakfast was also incredibly kind (forgot her name). Felt well cared for!
