Itinerary
This one-block plaza and surrounding area is one of the largest collections of department stores, upscale boutiques, gift shops, art galleries, and beauty salons in the United States, making Union Square a major tourist destination and a vital, cosmopolitan gathering place in downtown San Francisco.
The Palace of Fine Arts, built in the Beaux-Arts architectural style for the 1915 World's Fair, has been seen in films such as Vertigo (1958), Time After Time (1979), The Room (2003), and Twisted (2004). It also served as the backdrop for set pieces in So I Married An Axe Murderer (1993) and The Rock (1996).
We will visit Fort Point at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. We believe this location offers the most beautiful and comprehensive view of this majestic bridge. You'll also be able to walk in the footsteps of actors such as Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak, Mel Brooks, Humphrey Bogart, Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner.
Lombard Street is known for the one-way block on Russian Hill between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets, where eight sharp turns are said to make it the most crooked street in the world. We'll tell you on the tour why it's not even the crookedest street in San Francisco!
North Beach, a buzzy neighborhood steeped in Italian heritage, draws locals and tourists to its checked-tablecloth trattorias, coffee shops and retro-flavored bars. The spirit of the Beat Generation can be felt at the storied City Lights bookstore and the memorabilia-filled Vesuvio Cafe bar. In Telegraph Hill the Filbert Steps offer a scenic hike to the iconic Coit Tower, with WPA-era murals and panoramic views
Once home to the mansions of the Big Four railroad barons, Nob Hill retains a sense of wealth and privilege. Some of the city’s swankiest hotels are here, as are the ornate, Gothic-style Grace Cathedral and charming Huntington Park. Steep streets are dotted with restaurants and nightspots like the Top of the Mark lounge, with its 360-degree views. The Cable Car Museum exhibits antique cars alongside live machinery
The Transamerica Pyramid at 600 Montgomery Street between Clay and Washington Streets in the Financial District of San Francisco, California, United States, is a 48-story futurist building and the second-tallest skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline.
This is our meeting point right along the Bay's edge. Just a flat 5-10 minute walk from Fisherman's Wharf's famous Pier 39
Visit the 2nd most photographed location in San Francisco while checking out the park where the Tanner family had its picnic in Full House. The view of the Victorian-era Painted Ladies juxtaposed against the beautiful San Francisco skyline is not to be missed

Brian was a fabulous host and extremely knowledgable. The tour includes stops at many landmarks too which is great so you can see the city in a short time. I love that Brian shows clips from all the movies and it gave me many more to add to my watch list. This is a must do in San Francisco.
This experience was incredible! Wylie was so knowledgeable and entertaining that the tour surpassed all our expectations. Do not hesitate to book this amazing, insightful, and fun San Fran opportunity!
Bryan was amazing from start to finish. He was knowledgeable, friendly and the videos you see really put all the movie locations into reality. Was happy to take photos and stop at locations of our favourite movies. Not only movie locations but the scenic spots to get photos of the golden gate bridge and alcatraz were brilliant and not something we would have found ourselves. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is in San Fran.
Wylie was a great guide and cannot believe how much he knee about movies and San Fran - highly recommended
What an amazing afternoon - The meeting place was easy to find. Bryan was a fabulous host, tour guide and a safe/ talented/courteous driver. Not only was he knowledgeable but had met actors and chatted to the various film crews in the city throughout the day. I never realised that there have been so many films shot in San Francisco! We had a fabulous stop at the Golden Gate bridge. We stopped at the Princess Diaries school , Mrs Doubtfures home and many scenes of car chases - especially Bullitt. This tour not only shows you film scenes it gives you a fantastic city tour too!!! Thank you Bryan. You are a terrific guy 👍
This tour was fantastic. A great way to see & learn about both the city & lots of films that have been made there. Wylie was a great guide & was happy to focus the tour on particular genres of interest & even did an additional stop. Although we’d done a standard city tour already we learnt much more on this one. Would definitely recommend
Bryan was very accommodating when our plans changed, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Wylie. The small group setting was perfect, relaxed, informative, and a real highlight of our time in San Francisco. We even visited a few bonus locations along the way, which made the experience feel extra special. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone, both movie fans and those simply wanting to learn more about the city.
Wylie did a phenomenal job to cover so many movie scenes in such a short time. My impression of the city has changed for the positive and will think of this tour when I see a movie or TV show with SF as the backdrop. I have many movies to watch!
The operator responded quickly with any questions we had. The tour went very smoothly and exceeded our expectations. The driver Wylie was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We managed to fit a lot in and see a lot of San Francisco that we would not have otherwise seen, plus there was time for some stops for photos.
What can I say - this tour was amazing from start to finish and Bryan was superb. Toured the city showcasing the best movie set locations with several stop off points which was great. We got to see parts of the city we would never have seen and relived some memorable movies. This tour comes highly recommended and would book again. 5*
Movie tour. Loved this tour. Great idea to watch lots of movie clips as we travelled along on the tour. Comfortable transport. Bryan was our host drove considerately and had a wealth of movie knowleged. Also includeds was some city sites including Fort Port with great views of the Golden Gates bridge. Highly recommend.
A superb way of seeing San Francisco and the surrounding area whilst having the added bonus of seeing where movies were filmed. The guide kept us informed as to the pick up location time and could not have been more helpful. There were plenty of stops along the way for photo opportunities and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and also very entertaining. The pace was spot on and the length of the tour just right. I would highly recommend this tour for both movie buffs and also those who want to see the delights of San Francisco.
This trip was a favorite in SF! Bryan was very well versed on the movies he presented and his tour was well planned and scripted. We experienced SF inside and out, up and down all of the hills and catching all of the spectacular views of the city we could relate to thru the movies. Bryan engaged the small group (6) in conversation and a good time was had by all. You won’t be disappointed.
Definitely recommend and we all had a very good time our tour guide was full of knowledge and it was a fun couple of hours
A must do if you're into films. We had a great time seeing all the different film locations. Bryan..our guide was brilliant! He showed us movie clips as we were travelling along and pointed out the various locations. Several stops for photo opportunities and rest stops. The tour lasts about 3 hours. There was only 5 of us on the minibus which was great. Bryan's knowledge of all the films and more was amazing! Totally recommend this trip...it was fab!
We were seated in a comfortable minivan and our guide Bryan handed us the list of 86 movie sites we were going to see in the next three hours. We watched the accompanying movie clips on a screen in the van as we were introduced to each site. Bryan was great--knowledgeable and informative! We had photo, stretch, and bathroom breaks. Even though I'm not particularly a movie buff, it was interesting seeing how the movie makers transformed the sites into finished scenes!
Clear instructions as to where to meet, who to talk to and vehicle to look for. Our guide was very easy going and had lots of cool facts about the different movies filmed in SF, I did not expect to stop anywhere and he took us to 3 places to stretch and take in the views of SF. Which was a plus for all of us. You can take snacks and drinks with you, you will stop at places that have bathrooms nearby. Don't go with a time in mind, just relax and enjoy the tour till the end as it is different from all the typical tourist stuff. Highly recommend!
Great tour with video clips to accompany the locations. Knowledgeable and friendly guide. Good times.
Fantastic! Tour guide was kind, funny, and knowledgeable and you not only got to see a lot of movie locations but just the city in general. Great for cinephiles but also people who want to take a ride around the city and see some amazing spots
Bryan was fantastic! He did a great job describing the sights of the movies before we saw the clips. The tour was so informative and fun. We stopped at several spots for pictures. It was not only a tour of movie sites, but of the city itself. Worth every penny!! I highly recommend it.
Great trip, great movie knowlege from Bryan, we all really enjoyed the experience, as its a 3 hour trip, maybe a supply of bottled water would be appreciated with trip. Other than that brilliant
Brian was a fabulous tour guide, adding nuances throughout and showing us some of the amazing areas of San Francisco. I definitely recommend this experience if you are really into movies and the behind the scenes information. The tour guide was fabulous being friendly, and allowing for appropriate breaks, making the experience even greater.
It was a fun and educational tour! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, tailored the tour to the group, was a safe driver, timely, and very good communicator! We really enjoyed seeing some of the spots where some of our favorite movies were filmed!
Awesome and fun experience! Can't believe how many movie sites we saw and the phenomenal thing about it was being shown actual clips from the movies as we toured. Bryan was engaging, knowledgeable and personable and even got another couple to exchange seats with us due to my husband's back injury. Highly recommend this tour. Great value!
This was one of the best tours I’ve ever done. What a clever and unique way to experience San Francisco through the lens of movies. Brian is extremely knowledgeable about the city and a wonderful friendly tour guide. I highly recommend checking out this tour. I think you’ll love it.
We had a great time on Brian’s tour. He was an excellent host with lots of knowledge. We were lucky to be joined by just 1 other couple so 6 of us in total which made for a really friendly gathering. Van was really clean and easy to view the tv screen. It was a great 3 hours enjoyed by everyone.
This was a very fun and informative tour. I liked that our guide also asked if there were any specific movies we were interested in and offered some sites not included in the official tour from our specific choices.
Tired of walking around SF and feeling like there is still so much to see on your short visit? Take the SF Movie Tour! This is a great way to see so many areas of the City without driving yourself :-) You learn so much about movies filmed in San Francisco and interesting "behind the scenes" trivia about the locations and the filming - everything from an early Charlie Chaplan film to recent films, and why the same green Volkswagon shows up often in the chase scene in "Bullit". Our guide and driver, Bryan Rice, was knowledgable, fun, and navigated city streets and traffic with ease all while sharing info and film clips aout each movie location we visitied. The tour is 3 hours with 2 stops. It is a bit pricey, and so worth it. Bryan sent us a text message in advance about exactly where to meet him, which van to go to, and what time to be there. I highly recommend this tour when you are in San Francisco!
A great experience with a fabulous live guide. Saw many great movie sites with great photo opportunities.
Fantastic tour if you love your movies. Bryan was amazing very knowledgeable and the tour exceeded our expectations such good value would definitely recommend loved it. 🥰
This tour was amazing!!! Wylie our tour guide was so fun and he kept the whole bus laughing and fascinated!!! The movie spots were great to see and the info Wylie provided was really interesting!!! Best tour I’ve ever been on!!!
Wiley was a true movie fanatic at heart. He made our tour fun & informative. He even took all our family pictures! Great personality!
Fantastic experience, really enjoyed it. Showing the clips from movies during the tour was such a highlight.
We thought this was a great tour and that Bryan was a great tour guide! He is very knowledgeable and friendly and loves OK to interact with the guests. It was great seeing so many clips of films as we were driving through the areas where the clips were filmed. Highly recommended tour!
This was a wonderful tour! The tour guide was fabulous knowledgeable. I traveled with my mom, and my 7 year daughter-we loved seeing all the places we drove by and stopped at. Thank you for a great experience!
Bryan was great! So approachable, knowledgeable, funny! Solo traveled from AZ. A must do, you won’t regret it!
Outstanding! Hands down the best tour we’ve ever done! I would even pick this tour BEFORE the hop on / hop off bus tour since this is WAY more informative & enjoyable. And it covers much more of the city. We can’t recommend it enough.
Gave detailed info on movie locations that was fascinating and informative. What a fun tour! Brian was A++++
Super way to experience what San Francisco has to offer! Wylie was fun, informative and friendly. Personalised the trip to what the group wanted to see as well as including 100+ movie clips to bring the views to life. Thank you very much!
Bryan was our guide today and it was very fun and informative. He seemed to go all over the city and he went out of his way to make sure everyone was comfortable and had a good time. I would highly recommend Bryan as your guide especially if you are a movie buff like we are!
My husband, adult daughter and I enjoyed this tour and our tour guide Bryan’s in-depth knowledge of the city and lots of fun trivia. If you don’t know the city well, you’ll get a great overview, and if you DO know the city, you’ll see things you never noticed before and gain a new appreciation for why SF is such a favorite filming locale. You don’t need to be a movie buff to enjoy it.
Bryan Rice runs a wonderful tour. I loved that the evening before he sent a text confirming the starting point and sending a photo of the van at the starting point! We were running a few minutes late due to an Uber mishap and he was kind and supportive. He asked the group for movies they were particularly interested in and made sure to include those. His presentation is well prepared. He managed to drive in the challenging traffic of San Francisco while narrating what we’re seeing and showing the correlating movie clip. Everything was timed perfectly. He kept us abreast of upcoming restroom stops and was always offering to take photos on our stops. He had lots of interesting anecdotes to share. He has single handedly built this business and you can tell he cares about giving every guest a great experience; his pride of ownership is obvious.
The tour was very thorough and a great way to start our vacation to see the spots around the city and gather information. Wylie was awesome and provided a lot of details. Would highly recommend the tour.
Excellent tour. 3 hours long so it's well worth the money. Bryan is very knowledgeable on everything to do with movies filmed in San Francisco. A number of stops are made, where possible, so you can take photos. And restroom breaks too! I would suggest doing this tour at the very start of your holiday as it'll go through areas that you'll wanna revisit in your own time. This tour is a must.
If you are a real movie buff you will love this trip. I don’t watch many movies so diidnt know much but it didn’t matter because they play the movie clip at the same time as passing the location by.
The tour exceeded our expectations. Wylie was an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable. He made the tour lots of fun. I highly recommend it to anyone who is in San Francisco and loves movies.
Great time! Wylie gave lots info on movie scenes on different spots we went by and enjoyed stops we made.
Wiley was amazing! I’m not really a fan of bus tours and much prefer walking, so I was a little worried that I would dislike this tour. Wiley made all the difference though! He was a really fun and informative guide. He began our tour by asking everyone what sights they wanted to see and catered the tour to their interests. I’m a huge Vertigo fan and we got to see some awesome stops! We went all over the city and got to see some really beautiful sights. The only negative was that it was so foggy we couldn’t see the Golden Gate Bridge, but if Wiley could control the weather, he would’ve done something about it! Great guide for a great tour, even if he wouldn’t tell me his all time favorite movie. Very excited to watch Moon with my girlfriend! Thanks Wiley!
he gave us time to look around and take pictures as well as bathroom breaks, what to eat for lunch. Loved the hotdog wrapped in bacon
