Mark was an enthusiastic tour guide who filled us with history and stories as we traveled from one neighborhood to the next. We traveled by cable car, bus, and trolley. It was a most worthwhile introduction to San Francisco. While this four-hour tour is very enjoyable, it does require a lot of energy.

Take the cable car up steep Nob Hill to see the grand mansions of the San Francisco's first millionaires.
Learn the history of the San Francisco's cable cars and see how they operate (note we usually only visit on weekends).
Go inside our beautiful City Hall and learn about the important events which took place there (weekdays).
See this picturesque new area, near the San Francisco Civic Center, with it's collection of great street art and small coffee shops.
Experience this historic neighborhood, hugely important in the LGBTQ movement, of which San Francisco is a world-wide symbol.
One of the loveliest parks in SF and possessing great views of downtown.
This is where the hippie, anti-Vietnam War, movement really started in the 1960's. The neighborhood still maintains much of that same aesthetic (as well as being a great place to have lunch).

Jamie was a lovely tour guide who was so knowledgeable about his city! He always seemed to have answers to questions and also helped shed light on some underrepresented communities on the SF tour. The cable car museum was a highlight- you can tell he really loves being a tour guide, and his enthusiasm is infectious.
We had a wonderful time on this 1/2 day tour exploring many parts of downtown San Francisco. We rode cable cars, buses, and walked to many iconic places. Our guide, Mark, was exceptional.
Mark was exuberant and so full of information about San Francisco. He has knowledge about the architecture and the history as well as the social aspects of the times he speaks of.
We liked this tour very much. Our tour guide Mark did a great job. He was very knowledgeable and professional. The tour was run in a good pace. We will definitely recommend this tour for our friends and relatives..
The only thing I regret is not booking the full-day tour! Our guide, Jamie, took us on a cable car ride to the top of Nob Hill, then on a bus and subway all around town. As a San Francisco native, Jamie was an absolute fount of knowledge. This was a perfect way to get to experience the city. I would sign up for another tour with this operator any day!
The guide was fantastic. He was engaging and incredibly well informed about San Francisco. I would recommend this experience.
This tour is excellent! Jamie was an outstanding guide and I really appreciated his local insights!
The tour guide never showed and after one week, we have yet to receive a refund. Would give a negative rating if I could!
Great paced tour. Jamie was a very knowledgeable guide, who provided interesting information about much of San Francisco’s history. Riding the different types of public transport with Jamie was easy and fun.
Our guide Dara was both passionate and knowledgeable of her home town. Most guides can give you the facts but only good guides can present them in an interesting and fun manner -Dara is and exceptionally good guides. I would recommend this tour and highly recommended Dara
Nice small group, with knowledgeable local guide. Had to take 3 crowded public buses, instead of cable car as advertised, due to Fleet Week event. Guide should keep politics out of any commentary.
The cable tram car was an experience that any traveller to San Francisco should put in their plans. Stand/sitting of the open tram going up or down is magical. The areas covered in this tour were interesting, with plenty of photo opportunities.
A wealth of experience and knowledge delivered by a first class professional tour guide who by the end of the trip had become our friend. Jamie, our guide, took us to places which we would never have found on our own and, aided by his extensive back catalogues of ‘old SF’ made the tour come to life. A true expert of the SF music scene as well as its architectural heritage, it was a privilege to listen to his explanations and descriptions of everything cultural. Just do it!
We had a lovely time. Rode all modes of public transportation and saw much of the city. Our guide D made it super interesting and added some personal colour to the city ‘s story. Plenty of photo opportunities along the way. A great introduction to the city and its ethos.
We learned lots of history and saw beautiful sites throughout the city! From Nob Hill to Alamo Square, you won’t be disappointed.
Our guide, Mark, was very knowledgeable and obviously in love with his adopted city - San Francisco.
The tour was more of a personal story rather than a tour of San Fran. It is overpriced. We were hoping to see much more of the city. - - - - -
Our Guide Dara was wonderful! She grew up in San Francisco and had so much interesting information. I would love to take another tour with her. I learned so much and have been sharing with others!
Our tour guide was more interested in educating us on Pride than the advertised history of San Francisco. We liked seeing the different areas of the city and the pictures of the history of the city but that was it. Too much talk about his wife and Pride.
This was the perfect half day walking tour . Jason was a great tour guide . We got to tour San Fran like a local riding cable cars , buses and street car . We learned a lot of history. I recommend this tour for 1st timers
We had the best time. We ended up being the only people on the tour so we got a personalized tour of San Francisco. We started on the cable car and went the Cable Car museum which is great! Then off we went to a street fair in the Castro District. The last stop was what I call the "hippy" district of Ashley and Haight. I would recommend this to everyone,
Really enjoyed this walking tour around San Francisco. It was great that the cable car rides were included in the cost and we covered a lot of ground in the 4 hours. Our guide Mark was entertaining and knowledgeable about his home city. Highly recommended.
