The San Francisco City pass is a great money saver if you have an interest in seeing the six or seven attractions which are associated with the pass. You should know that you have to choose which attractions you want. They list seven attractions but you can only see four of them which is still a good deal considering if you had to buy each pass individually. The pass is easy to use as each attraction scans a barcode which is downloaded to your phone. Once the barcode has been scanned four times the city pass becomes inactivated.

This pass is a fantastic financial deal! I love that it gives you eight options to use over nine days, so you never feel rushed. It also gives you the flexibility to choose exactly which attractions you want to attend. One tip: skip the Aquarium of the Bay. It is tiny and not worth it. The California Academy of Sciences has an epic aquarium—do that instead! We also really enjoyed the de Young Museum and the Legion of Honor. The de Young has an amazing observation deck and courtyard, and the Legion of Honor is directly across the street from the Academy.
absolutely wonderful pass to have when sightseeing and touring san francisco. top attractions that is fun and memorable for all members of my family. we had 3yo to 50yo and everyone enjoyed. also saved us a lot of money. 2 attractions alone is the same cost as the city pass, and it allows you to choose 4! worth the purchase!
Excellent offer with lots of choice and savings compared to purchasing the various activities etc individually. Would highly recommend.
The cityPASS was fairly simple to use and allowed us entry into multiple attractions. We had a lot of fun exploring the city
Boat ride was fun. It was rain a little and the wind made it cooler, but we enjoyed the trip. Took lots of pictures.
Amazing deal if you have the time! The harbor cruise was a perfect way to get up close to the golden gate bridge without driving. The science museum was also fantastic! (visit the Japanese tea garden while in the park). We chose to do the zoo and sfmoma with the other 2 tickets. Highly recommend the zoo. We went in December while it was a little on the chilly side but the animals didn't seem to care lol. Sfmoma was also a lot of fun(felt geared more to adults).
Some people said the pass was not worth it but in my opinion it's great. California Science Academy is worth visiting
Get this it saved me a ton of money for all the attractions, bang for your buck.......and I I had up to nine days to use it
Good value! Absolutely saves you money. With the exception of the Aquarium by the Bay (which is super lame), these are all good attractions. I recommend taking the Exploratorium and Zoo as your two options to get most bang for your buck.
Was pretty easy to use for the most part. What would have made it perfect would be explicit instructions on how to use the pass to redeem the ticket for the blue and gold cruise. I picked a time and waited in the line for 30 min to board and at the dock bridge, I was told to go to the office and redeem my city pass for a boarding pass and I had to wait another hour for the next boat.
Don’t used the CityPASS. I was only available to use it for 1 attractions. After that the tickets were cancelled. By Citypass. Even though it states that the mobile tickets are valid for 9 days, beginning the first day use and expulires within one year of purchase. Horrible experience. I had to purchase the entrance to the attractions out of pocket.
Highly recommend. We went to all 4 attractions and saved a significant amount of money. Each admission office was easy to work with.
Worked very fine and saved a lot of money! We bought the explorer pass for 3 attractions and did the big bus sightseeing, exploratorium, and California Academy of science. I would buy it again!
Purchasing the San Francisco CityPass was a very good decision. It was easy to purchase online and no pre-booking required for the attractions we visited.
Was a last second impulse, originally was gonna go into town blind as a tourist but only had one day and got this last minute. 10/10 great savings, saved more like 80-90$ per pass. One thing i wish i did was go to the Academy of Sciences first since it opens the earliest. And recommend doing all the stuff around pier 39 at once to save time if you only have one day. Otherwise was a great deal for someone unfamiliar with the attractions
So we got a late start driving from Sacramento and that kept us from using the package deal. The first stop was the zoo and it was disappointing because a lot of animals were missing. Since we were late getting there we had to run through the zoo fast with no time left for any of the other excursions. We are hoping to get down there again next weekend to finish the other activities.
Boat ride around the bay. The weather was perfect, the skyline gorgeous. We went to the zoo, it was a wonderful experience.
I’m so happy with our decision to get the City Pass! It’s easy to use and helped us choice our itinerary. Viator has so many options for tours. It’s a one stop shop! I’ll be recommending it to family and friends.
Only if you are vaccinated should you buy this because the state of California requires a vaccine to enter and remain inside place of business. Anything open or outdoors doesn't require anything so only get this if you have had the vaccine and can prove it
Not as good as other sf tours . Acquarium is a joke. Zoo is far in in the outbound. Didn't even hit Walt Disney.
I love CityPASS for making our favorite attractions affordable. We used ours just ahead of California's restrictions being withdrawn on July 1, and folks at the various attractions asked fun questions about whether or not we had reservations, what CityPASS was, and the websites for the attractions did not have accommodations for CityPASS users when we tried to make reservations. I understand that the US is just waking up from the pandemic and we were patient and folks at attractions were also patient with us. Updating websites regarding restrictions, COVID requirements, etc. would have been helpful. Potential CityPass users: be a good guest and carry a mask. Not every city, business or restaurant is as accommodating of non mask users as the places you frequent at home. Bus schedules? Us the Maps app in your phone to find bus routes to the attractions you are getting to. Apple or Google did a good job of setting their individual apps up. When selecting the mode of travel, just select the bus icon over the car or walking icons and bingo, there is the bus route.
The boat tour was fun but the aquarium was pretty small and lacking. Aquarium just has big fish 1 frog 1 snake 2 underground tunnels that are pretty fun but just big fish and manta rays
I am very disappointed with the service. I bought 4 tickets for San Francisco and only one of the attractions had a link to make a timed reservation. We showed up at the aquarium of the bay to be turned away because they were sold out. We couldn’t find the instruction on where to take the cruise also included in the ticket and spend about an hour trying to talk to customer service to get an answer. I called and got disconnected twice and had to start all over again. At the end I never got an answer. I was told to call the tour operator and they put me on hold for over 30 minutes and never connected with anyone. I tried the chat feature and they told that they will check and let me know by email which has not yet arrived and it has been more the 12 hours . In conclusion you are better off buying your tickets directly and getting your reserved time that using the city pass.
Not TripAdvisor's fault completely. The Zoo was the only attraction open. TripAdvisor did not show attraction statuses. I verified zoo was open for business and assumed the rest would be, too. Had to improvise activities for our two week stay.
We used the "Go City" all-inclusive 5-day pass to see so many attractions in San Francisco! This was a great way to know what's available and pay one price for all of your S.F. experiences. Some of our favourites were the Alcatraz cruise, "Escape from the Rock", which takes you under the Golden Gate Bridge, around Alcatraz and to the Bay Bridge. There were great views of the S.F. skyline and the bay. We also loved visiting Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, USS Pampanito and the Hornet Air Craft Carrier. The Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus Tour on the first day gave us a great overview of the city. Some of the other attractions we did (all great!) were the Dungeon, Bay Aquarium, many other attractions on the Bay. I would highly recommend this if you are visiting San Francisco for a short time - great value for money!
We would have at least spent nearly double for all that we did !! If you like aquariums and planetariums you will get your monies worth !!
We were able to go all over San Francisco. In the tickets to other events is just perfect we would definitely buy this again
We would have rated it a 5 if we were given more info about times and places where the buses went and locations of the bus stops.
I always feel like a tourist when I go to the City. This August I have visitors from Mexico, and I choose this CityPass us a way to explore all the main points of the City. A pass for a day was perfect with a tour to Sausalito, for extra $, except that we made a mistake. We supposed to get off at the vista point at the end of de Golden Gate And we forgot. Recommendations: make sure to pay attention to the stops.
You get your monies worth with purchasing a city pass, regardless if it’s the 3 or 5 day option. The San Francisco Bay tour is a must!! Don’t forget to bring jacket!
Definitely its a must if you want to visit different places and save some money. If you want to enjoy cable cars this is a clever way to do it!. Aquarium, Exploratorium and CAL Science was a perfect combo. Also we went on the ferry to the Golden Gate and the trip was excellent!! i will do it again.
Pluses: Saves you the hassle of buying separate tickets at each venue, or every day you get on a bus or cable car. It saves you the hassle of keeping track of a bunch of tickets purchased ahead of time. Cons: It was a pain to track down the particular part of the Moscone Center to initially get our booklets. Note that there are two bus systems in SF: one for the city and another for Marin County/SF County. These passes are technically only good for the former. Might be good to extend that to both systems, but then it would probably cost quite a bit more. Overall we got our money's worth.
I'm sorry this is going to be a long review, but that's just because I had such a great experience with the CityPASS! My boyfriend and I were in town for 3 days, with no rental car and no concrete plans. This pass was perfect! We picked up our passes at the Visitor's Center inside Macy's, since it was right across the street from our hotel. The first day we took the Muni out to the Museum of Science. We spent about 3 hours there, we did not pay to do the planetarium, the general admission was perfect. The second day, we jumped (literally) onto a cable car and took it all the way up to Fisherman's Wharf. We took advantage of our aquarium admission, and spent maybe an hour inside. It's small, but cute. We then jumped in line for our 1 hour boat tour. We only waited about 20 minutes and were able to enjoy our tour. Throughout our visit, we hopped on and off the Muni, whenever we didn't feel like walking. This is a must have pass, just for the unlimited rides alone!
We used the pass to take the cable car, buses. We went on an hour cruise. Went to the aquarium. We could have also gone to some museums but ran out of time.
Bought this pass before going, mainly because it gave access to the cable cars and buses in SF so saving having to worry about finding change etc. However,it also gave free access to the Museum of Modern Art, Aquarium, Academy of Sciences and Bay Cruise. All great experiences and, given the number of cable car rides we took, well worth the money. Would recommend.
Our family of 3 purchased the City Pass as soon as we could and jumped on the city buses and cable cars. It is a great and rewarding way to get around that beautiful city. You get to meet locals from the area. Every one that I have met there has been kind and helpful. The attractions more than pay for the card. They were all enjoyable and interesting. It is a great value in my opinion. That is the second time we purchased the City Pass on our visit to the City By The Bay.

Science Museum was good. De Young art museum was great. Legion of Honor Art Museum was killer!
Don't waste your time on Aquarium of the Bay.
MUNI is not straight forward. I tried to use an app called TRANSIT to navigate it but was less than successful.

There is so much to do and so little time to it all, but with the City Pass it is almost layed out for you!!

The City Pass is a great Value for a trip of more than two days. You can go every where with just a little Bus schedule study time. Learn to by-pass the big crowd at the end of Powell st. , by catching the Cable Car a few blocks up just past Geary st. on a concrete platform in the middle of the street. Just hop on and show them the City Pass Booklet it's like a magic pass to all of YOUR TRANSPORTATION NEEDS.....P.S. Don't forget all the cool Things To Do included in your City Pass..... BO

A great way to see a number of sights, and ours included a seven-day pass on the muni bus/streetcar system which was invaluable in getting around. If you enjoy museums, and/or interactive science, this is a must.

From easy use of the transportation system to enjoying the many museum and special views of the area the Harbor Boat Ride, the City Pass provided access to some of SF most popular and unique sites. Good value if you are planning on really exploring the area!

Just for the Muni pass it pays for it self. Acuarium of the Bay is not that interesting. It's small. Exploratorium is fun. California Academy it's great! Blue and Gold cruise it's great too, just a bit bumpy and the turn around of the boat behind Golden Gate Bridge, was pretty scary! We felt it would turn over!

The tour was well worth the money! Having the transportation pass made it easy to get around the city. We would highly recommend buying this City Pass!

I highly recommend the city pass. We took advantage of the bay cruise, visiting the aquarium and rode lots of buses and cable cars. And all at our convenience. It was awesome. We did use some of the other coupons in the book and all in all well worth the money,

Useful for getting about city, also comes with free access to some attractions.

Handy to have especially for public transport.

The museums on the pass are good and worth visiting.

Allows quick access to all museums and handy if there for the full 7 days the pass is valid for.

Worth every dollar. We visited some places that werent on our itinerary but the passes were in with the CityPass. I would highly recommend the Science Museum which has a tropical rain forest and underwater tubes and aquariums that have to be seen to be believed. The Exploritorium was interesting but would be better if you have a couple of kids with you to explain everything to. It also saved us a fortune on transport as the cost is 2.25 dollars whether you are going one stop or several stops. Highly recommend, saves a lot of money in the long run.

Awesome! Brings you to all the nice attractions. Best thing is that public transport is included. Must-have if you go to San Fransisco for a weekend. Tip: if you want to go to Alcatraz, book your trip upfront, because you can't buy tickets for the same day.

this pass gave us the opportunity to go places that we would not have paid for separately. Loved the San Francisco Aquarium, Exploratorium, harbor tour with blue and gold, and of course the cable cars.
