San Francisco Bay Cruise

We took the one hour Blue line bay cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge and around the back of Alcatraz island. The boat has three levels so the "tour director" is a recording through speakers. Can't get very personal on a three story boat. Our tip would be to stand in the standing area in the bow (very front) so you can see where boat is heading. We sat on third level because my husband wanted to sit down but the control section of the boat is right in front of you. You can't see where you're going, only what's on the sides, and that's only if nobody who is sitting decides to stand to take photos. Going under the Golden Gate Bridge was breathtaking but would have been more breathtaking if we could have seen it approaching and didnt have to wait until we were directly under it. Again, suggest standing in front on second level outside or infront on the inside (but we didnt go on the inside of level one or two). And get in line at least 30 minutes before your time. We got there 20 minutes ahead and there were about 40-50 people ahead of us.

Wonderful hour long trip around the bay. Great picture taking opportunities. You can see all of the iconic highlights from the water. Comfortable ride.

This cruise was amazing. The service was great from start to finish, and I loved all the information and history we got along the way. Going right underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and circling around it was just so cool, easily the highlight of my trip. Boarding and getting off were seamless and easy, which made the whole experience stress-free. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Francisco!

Really nice experience. Big boat with restrooms and a bar. All the main stuff covered. Sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge and round the back of Alcatraz. Which was really cool

It was a great 1 hour trip, got to see a little of a lot of things. The trip was on time to leave and return, very timely.

Great views but dress warmly! I would recommend the tour operator enforce a no FaceTime rule. One passenger did this for the entire cruise. We moved early on because it was so annoying .

Bring a warm jacket and have your camera ready. It is definately worth the money.. Great views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Don't worry about the weather. Clear, sunny sky or heavy fog, the cruise is still worth it. But splurge for the 90 minutes.

Great view of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridge as well as the downtown landmarks. Neat to see the back side of Alcatraz.

Beautiful way to enjoy the bay! The staff were so flexible when we were going to be late. We left a message and they called us back within 20 minutes..They let us get in on the next group. Get there early if you want the best seats.

Our boat cruise experience was amazing! The staff were so helpful, kind and accommodating, especially since we had our elderly mother with us on a wheelchair. They went above and beyond to help wheel her on and off the boat. Making sure she was comfortable and safe throughout the experience. We are truly grateful to the staff for their kindness and excellent service. Highly recommended!

It would be nice to have free snacks on the trip during the tour.

Very windy, definitely wear a sweater/hoodie because it can get cold. If you are sitting on the top deck, the wind can hurt your ears if you are sensitive.

Easy process to register for this tour and no problem using the e ticket from online purchase. Make sure to download the ticket pdf after purchase for multiple tickets codes. The tour was on time and took us under the Golden Gate bridge before turning around. A lot of photo opportunities. It was also sunny, chilly and windy. So, be prepared for weather changes and wear a hoodie to prevent your cap from being blown awsy! Highly recommend this fun trip.

The weather was disappointing. Took the cruise for the sole purpose of seeing the golden gate bridge. So much fog that we could not even see the bridge at all, even when we were directly under it. Otherwise it would have been wonderful.

It is worth the money spent. Seeing the Golden Gate Bridge and the Alcatraz Island up close is priceless.

Delivered exactly as I hoped for. Great view of Golden Gate and Alcatraz...the "dark" side you can't usually see from shore. Bring a light jacket and hold on to your hats if you're up top.

Had the best time ever, enjoyed all the history that was told, I got to do three things on my bucket list, which was the Golden Gate Bridge seeing Alcatraz and let’s not forget those seals right before you got on the boat thank you and I applaud you.

Lovey day to cruise around the bay. Getting close to Alcatraz island and passing under the Golden Gate Bridge. We loved it a nice break from the hustle and bustle.

Do this as soon as you arrive to San Francisco because, if you do anything else first, this is repetitive and boring. We went out on a windy day which made hearing the prerecorded narration almost impossible to hear. The crew was friendly and it went out on time.

An awesome trip around Alcatraz and cruising under the Golden Gate Bridge. We enjoyed seeing the Pier 39 seals from the view of the boat. Also liked the information and stories as we passed by landmarks.

Great experience. Price was good. Easy to book and the guides were knowledgable and friendly. Weather was nice and the scenes were amazing. We were able to get some beautiful pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the seals sunbathing on the docks. The historic buildings and shoreline views were also great to see.

It was a pleasure to take the tour but seemed like an hour wasn’t long enough. But sitting out there on the deck looking at the water. The information over the intercom needs to be louder.

Check the weather first and foremost!! It was a chilly ride for the beginning of August but it was enjoyable! Views were amazing!

You should be aware that, if injured on the boat, the captain and crew will get you back to dock immediately to get you medical assistance... However you will need to reschedule or get refunded your costs. The cruise company cannot refund money paid thru third party company like Viator. But the short amount of cruise we did see was Awesome

The tour was cancelled due to an injury, I contacted Viator per the tour company for a refund, I am still waiting for a response.

Wear a jacket. It gets chilly. Set at the front on the top level for the best view. Steps are steep.

I was running late due to the sf traffic and I message the company and they changed my ticket for the next boat ride. The boat ride was perfect. Not too long and not too short. Great activity for the family!

Boring. You can see Alcatraz and Bridge from the land. You can see sea lions from the Pier 39. I couldn’t book full Alcatraz tour this same day, so decided to go to this. I’d better just walk around. But if you haven’t ever been on a boat than sure, take it

Perfect trip. Weather was excellent and we got to see everything we wanted. Just the right amount of time.

Arrived on time and everything was as advertised. The explanation recording played during the trip was very informative and very well timed so you can enjoy the scenery as it is being explained. Clean toilets. I dis not use the cafe inside the ship.

It’s very crowded. Although people were asked not to stand unless they needed to go somewhere else on the boat they lined up on the rails and if you tried to stay seated you couldn’t watch for any dolphins or see much at all. A bit disappointing. You also couldn’t hear a word that was said over the speaker system so that sucked. I wanted to hear any history they were sharing.
