We had an amazing time on our wine tour! Everything was nice, from the beautiful wineries to the wine tastings and overall experience. Each stop was enjoyable, and the day was filled with great vibes, beautiful scenery, and wonderful memories. Everything was well worth it, and I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing wine tour. 🍷✨

Overall, our Full-Day Tour to Napa and Sonoma Wine Country from San Francisco was really good. Our driver, Christin was did a great job driving us and getting us to all our stops in a timely manner, while sharing a lot of information about the places we visited and surrounding areas. Each of the 3 wineries we visited provided a variety of tasty wines to sample and shared lots of good info regarding their wine making process. It was a fun day. I would highly recommend.
Exploring wine production, varieties of drinks, connect with nature, relishing unique tastes of each winery and choosing few for self, wonderful Italian meal at Della in Sonoma town, wonderful people in the bus and an amazing person driving us a long way with interesting fact-based stories of places and incidents .. plethora of knowledge. In essence, a memorable, cheerful day out with family. Can't ask for more at such an economical price. Go for it!
Great driver and experience! The wines were great good views too! The food stop had many options so good!
Had a great time and visited 3 wineries (Roche, Artesa and Madonna). Each winery provided 5 or 6 wine samples. Stopped for lunch at Sonoma town square. Best of all didn't have to drive.
Good day! Good wine. Beautiful scenery. Wish lunch was longer
Wonderful full day visiting 3 wineries and having lunch in Sonoma. Our tour guide, George was a mountain of knowledge and kept us entertained with local stories for the entire trip.
Wonderful tour! Can’t say enough good things about our tour guide Christin. She was fabulous. I have had tour guides who talk to much or don’t talk enough she was perfect! The wineries we visited were lovely and tasty. The Sonoma lunch piece was great too. Loved the stop at the bridge and the weather was beyond perfect! Thank you for an excellent tour !
Great experience. Pick-up location was easy to find. Spacious bus, comfortable ride to and from Sonoma and Napa wineries. Would definitely recommend to others and use Grayline for future trips.
Excellent! Our tour guide was really good! Very knowledgeable, friendly and professional! The last winery overview was a bit longer than needed, but still a fun experience in general!
We had a great day! We visited 3 wineries, 2 in Napa & 1 in Sonoma. We also stopped and had lunch in Sonoma. Since it was our first winery trip, we enjoyed the educational overviews that all 3 provided. We also liked the diversity of each winery. The pick up and drop off were convenient and punctual. I think it was a great trip for the value. I would recommend.
An Okay Experience for Beginners, but Disappointing for Wine Enthusiasts Overall, this experience may be suitable for someone who knows absolutely nothing about wine and wants a first introduction to vineyards, what they look like, and some basic information about wine production. However, for anyone with previous wine-tasting experience, I would not recommend it. The entire experience felt extremely rushed. At each vineyard, the hosts provided an overwhelming amount of information in a very short period, making it difficult to actually understand or absorb anything. Rather than offering a meaningful explanation of the wines, their composition, the growing process, or what makes each wine unique, the experience often felt more focused on presenting the products and getting people to drink as much as possible. The vineyards themselves seem to be smaller, locally operated wineries that produce and sell their own wines, which is an interesting concept. Unfortunately, the tour never really captures the beauty, scale, or full potential of Napa Valley’s wine country, which was somewhat disappointing. Another major downside was the group size. With approximately 25 people, the experience felt noisy, impersonal, and poorly organized. Everyone had different expectations and levels of interest, making it difficult to focus, engage with the hosts, or enjoy a more personalized tasting experience. If you are a beginner looking for a casual introduction to wine, you might find it worthwhile. However, if you have attended wine tastings before and are hoping to deepen your knowledge, discover interesting wines, or enjoy a well-curated vineyard experience, you will likely find this tour boring, poorly executed, and lacking in substance. Overall, I left feeling that the experience was quite superficial and did not do justice to what Napa Valley has to offer. There are likely better ways to explore the region, especially if you are looking for something more educational, intimate, and memorable.
We went for the day tour for my mom’s 60th and it was perfect. The driver George was hilarious and so informative. All of the wineries were so different from 4 generations family ran to new and modern. The lunch stop in sanoma was also amazing. It’s nice with so many options in Napa to have a driver just drop you off and pick you up at quality wineries. We had a spectacular time!
The winery tours were informative and good, the driver spoke too much and was hard to understand, the bus was large
We live wine tours and the wines were pretty good but I felt like there may have been other wineries where the prices may not have been crazy expensive.
Well organized overall however the last winery was very disappointing and a waste of time(Madonna). Left there for an hour at a winery along a highway with nothing to look at. Thrown into an ugly bar room with 4 wines offered at once then over 45 minutes with nothing to do. First two stops were lovely and inviting. Need to dump last stop.
My girlfriends and I had a great experience. It was misty in the city but once we got into the valley it gorgeous weather. Each vineyard and winery were special in their own way. Our last winery was at Madonna Estate Winery which was beautiful, warm and inviting. The size of our group and the smaller size tasting room felt claustrophobic. Otherwise an amazing experience and the perfect way to kick off the vacation!
It was a great tour! Lots to see, and Danny the tour guide was awesome!! Thank you!
My mom and I have done this same tour for 3 years and we love it! They change up the wineries so it’s always fun. This tour is a great value because they pick you up in SF, take you to all the wineries, you pay no tasting fees and they bring you back to SF. Just have to worry about lunch which they drop you at Sonoma square for. We love Danny the tour guide! He is so nice and funny and a wonderful guide.
The tour guides were great and very knowledgeable and informative. The wines were pretty good for those who enjoy dry wines. I’m a sweet wine drinker and I didn’t get to sample many of those.
The tour as far as the 3 wineries visited excellent but the driver/guide, Cristin, was boring, monotone and did nothing to engage the customers on the bus. One of the worst guides I have ever had. Make sure that you bring something to drink as they don’t even supply water on the bus which is really poor. The 3 wineries we visited were excellent. Great guides, lovely wine and incredible scenery. There is no food included in tour not even a cracker during the tasting but you are dropped off in Sonoma where there are plenty of good places to eat. I would do it again but only if Cristin wasn’t the driver/guide and not with Gray Libe
So why 3 star? This is not a reflection on the 3 vineyards that we visited because they were excellent but more about the “driver/guide” and the value for money. For a comparison I am comparing to a similar tour that we took in Niagara 5 weeks earlier. First we arrived at the pick up spot with 1 minute to spare as our Uber took so long to connect and pick us up. We got out of the taxi and I checked the actual meeting point and as I read and looked up the bus was pulling off. For me this was really poor and either the driver should have been out of the bus as the meeting spot was across the road or for the pick up there should have been another person outside the designated spot. Also to leave EXACTLY on time when you must know 2 people are missing, come on give me a break or at least a couple of minutes. We them drove to our next pick up spot why there was a company representative to organise the customers and we were there a good 10 minutes after the pick up time to ensure that the stragglers got on the tour. I am sure that Christin our driver/guide was knowledgeable but she was totally monotone and.just did not interact with the group in any way. To be honest it could have been a recording. Apart from Cristin and her monotonous dialogue the 3 wineries were excellent. Fantastic guides, decent wines to taste and not short on the measures of pushy to buy something. Considering the cost of the tour there was no food included at any of the stops but we were dropped in Sonoma which was quite a nice little rest spot with some decent restaurants and shops. A big disappointment for me was that there was no water on the bus. I cannot recall any trip of this sort that I have undertaken and there not be water on the bus.. Take the trip for the wineries but don’t expect any interaction if Cristin is you driver.
The bus driver was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained. Visiting the wineries was a great experience.
Overall a fantastic tour with 3 excellent winery tours, great pace between them. Loved the Golden Gate picture stop and the luncheon in Sonoma. Our tour guide gave fun commentary throughout the tour and provided a safe driving experience.
3 Wineries they take you are family owned and not famous so don’t be discouraged if you don’t go to Caymus or Josh or other known brands. Tour is worth it Bus is clean / Every seat with a charger and comfortable ride. Wineries do try to push you subtly to buy their bottles understandably - most folks were from out of town so due to travel complexity they didn’t buy. Go with a partner you will love it- wine portions are sample Size offered but you ask more every time, by the end everyone in my bus were dozing on way back Home. Sonoma lunch location is also scenic and you will love the greenery in old town.
Always wanted to go to Napa and Sonoma wine country and this was a great way to see it. We visited three different wineries with tastings at each one. Beautiful facilities and friendly people. Our driver, Cristina, was very good and pointed out so many sites as we traveled. Highly recommend this tour.
A little pricey but I used the deal as a first time user so it became affordable. The bus ride was a little bumpy but the views were worth it. Each vineyard was unique and you get to try all different kinds of wine. The itinerary was spaced out efficiently and we never felt rushed. Walked away with a few bottles of wine and some new friends.
It was great for a solo outing. The wineries were lovely and I had a delicious lunch in Sonoma! I felt comfortable and safe the whole day.
Our Napa and Sonoma tour was the perfect way to experience wine country without driving, navigating San Francisco traffic, or deciding which wineries to visit. We opted for the earlier pickup at the Post Street location, then traveled to get the remainder of the group at Fisherman's Wharf. Our guide Joseph met us there, talked about the upcoming plans, and shared tons of interesting facts on our approx 80 minute drive- which included a photo stop (and bathroom stop) at the Golden Gate Bridge before we proceeded into Sonoma. We visited 3 wineries: Roche, Artesa, and Madonna Estates. The staff at Roche was warm and friendly, and they were quite generous with their tastings. We received 5 during our 1 hour visit, but were welcome to complimentary "revisits" on any we liked. I am not a Chardonnay drinker, but theirs was delicious and a pleasant surprise. The Rosé and Merlot were also amazing. Next, we traveled to Artesa, which was unbelievably gorgeous. You can't quite see it as you drive up, but once you park and climb the stairs, the views are stunning, and the interior design was gorgeous. Our guide Rick was charismatic and energetic. We loved the demi-sec and the tempranillo and ordered 2 bottles of each to have shipped back home. I never wanted to leave this beautiful space! Next, we backtracked to Sonoma Square for lunch. Our guide recommended a number of local spots all within a short walk. We opted for The Girl & The Fig. Service was warm, and the food was delicious. We had time to grab a quick coffee at Sam's General Store before boarding the bus to our final stop. Madonna Estate was smaller than the first 2 stops, but offered more 5 delicious wines, including a few brand new to us. We enjoyed a lovely conversation with fellow tour members as we sipped wine near the peaceful fountain. Before we knew it, it was time to board the bus back to San Francisco. The drive back was traffic-free, and we and a relaxing way to recharge for the rest of the night's adventures. Overall, the tour was a great value as it included round-trip transportation, all our wine tasting fees, and lots of fun information. My purchase at Artesa was also offered at "Club" pricing since we were on the tour. 10/10 recommend booking!
Enjoyed the visit to Jacuzzi and Artesa wineries. Locations were beautiful to see and great information was shared. Madonna winery left plenty to be desired. Tour group and transportation were great. Made the day easy and enjoyable for sure. Better winery stops than many other tours. Would definitely recommend this tour.
This was the perfect quintessential California wine region tour. Our tour guide was amazing and the bus driver was great as well. It was well worth the value. I would suggest this trip to anyone who wants the perfect wine region day trip.
The Napa excursion with three wineries was wonderful. There's a lot to learn about wines. We had the opportunity to taste several at each stop.😋. The lunch stop was really nice. And the stop for a photo shoot at the Golden Gate Bridge was a great plus. Judith, our driver was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of info on the way. She also had great music on our Return. She was considerate of everyone's needs. And she can really maneuver the bus. Very ompressive. When in San Francisco, book the tour with Viator and you will not be disappointed. Thanxs again, Judith 🤗
Amazing day with great driver/guide and new friends from all over the world. Vineyard stops were wonderful.
It is worth while and very nice trip. I enjoyed the wine, the wineries, and the history that the driver told us.
The trip was great. It was a bit of a long day though. The driver was awesome and gave so many fun facts.
Thomas was so knowledgeable about history the entire Bay Area, Sonoma, and Napa. He was an incredible guide. We had the best mother daughter day in Napa & Sonoma.
The wine stops in Napa were outstanding as was the lunch stop in Sonoma. Artesa is very impressive and the tour guide there was very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. The second stop at Madonna Estate was almost as good as the first stop. Our tour guide Danny was very enthusiastic and engaging. The only disappointment was the stop at the Sonoma winery Robledo. The atmosphere was great but the wine not as good as the previous stops. With all the wineries to choose from they could find a better one.
An Exceptional Wine Tour Experience with Danilor What an absolutely stunning day! This was my first time in San Francisco, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our driver, Danilo, was truly outstanding from start to finish. He was incredibly welcoming, kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Throughout the day, he shared so many interesting and informative facts about San Francisco and the surrounding area. He even took the time to stop at a national park before the Golden Gate Bridge, which was such a wonderful surprise. I honestly feel like I received even more than I expected from the tour. The wine tour itself was fantastic. Two of the vineyards we visited were absolutely outstanding, while the third was just okay — but overall, the experience was wonderful Danilo’s recommendations for lunch in Sonoma were also excellent. What really stood out was his genuine hospitality and cheerful attitude. He made the entire day feel relaxed, enjoyable, and special. And, of course, his driving was exceptional, safe, smooth, and professional throughout the entire trip. Danilo is truly exceptional at what he does, and I am so grateful for the wonderful day he gave us. If you’re considering a wine tour to Napa or Sonoma, I highly recommend requesting Danilor as your driver. He went above and beyond to make our day memorable. Five stars without hesitation! 🍷🌉❤️ - Gina
Don was not a great tour guide. We started out with him stating two different bus leave times from GG, and he almost left us and others from the tour when he meant the earlier of the times he said. Then talked way too much about info nobody seemed to care much about, like his previous job, prisons, and not wine. Roche Winery was great, good people and info. Artesa was not as great, host kept making comments "for the ladies" and talking about shoes and men. Madonna wine was pretty good but "tour" was 15 minutes max, which was frustrating given how rushed we'd been all day. We planned to leave at 430, then Don proceeded to honk at us at 425 when we weren't on the bus. Felt like a massive waste of money and will not be using Grayline again.
It is a long day. Wear comfortable clothing and enjoy the experience. The driver is there to give historical context during the trip, so a part of the adventure is designed to help you learn about the wine and the families who create it.
Fun time for a first time Napa/Sonoma trip.
Wish they would have had more red wines options. But overall it was a great experience and the tour guide was very attentive and entertaining.
Don was an exceptional driver and guide . He was knowledgeable and patient.
My wife & I had a romantic getaway in SF and definitely needed to do the Wine Country tour in Napa/Sonoma. It was the most memorable part of our trip! Don, our host and driver was excellent through and through. He is from the SF-area so he was knowledgeable and passionate about creating a great experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area or any fans of wine and California scenery.
Don, the tour bus driver/guide for driving portions, was uninformed and rude. At the first vista point stop, he told us a time to be on the bus and started pulling the bus away early with 4+ people running towards a moving bus. He scolded us for not being on time (we were actually 2 minutes early) and he set the trip up on a bad foot. Multiple others on the tour commented about being uncomfortable with him as well. Dons commentary during the hour+ bus ride to the Sonoma/Napa Valley area left much to be desired. On a *wine* tour, we learned about where Don grew up, some of the places he worked, and his bias takes on loosely related history of wine making. He rambled and didn't even seem to be interested in what he was saying himself. The first stop on our tour was Roche Winery. The wine was good and tour was very nice. Our second stop was Artesa, the only good part about this stop were the beautiful views, the wine was undrinkably sweet and smoky at the same time. We stopped at Sonoma Plaza for 1.5 hour lunch break (food NOT included). The area is very quaint and charming with very good food. Final stop was Madonna which was quite disappointing to be rushed through a 10 minute tour where a separate tour guide talked over our tour guide the entire time. Overall, the wine was incredibly acidic and sweet, but their Cabernet Sauvignon was good. By the last stop, Don tried to be friendly with everyone and assure us we wouldn't be left behind, but the sentiment wasn't believable after he changed his tune from "I WILL leave without your, timing the THE MOST IMPORTANT part of the trip" to "I won't leave anyone behind and we have flexibility with schedule." Overall, this tour (especially with Don) is quite disappointing. I didn't sign up to learn Don's life story and taste sweet wines, I came to the wine capitol of the US to learn about wines from the area and taste world famous Cabernet's. Don't waste your money or time on this tour. The entire time I was nervous about being left behind after poor timing communication at two stops, there was not a clear pick up spot and vineyards chosen were sun par for actual wine fans.
Danny, our driver, was fantastic! He made our trip memorable with his knowledge mixed with funny jokes. Also, being seated in the first row helped. The overall experience for me was curated well. This included 3 wineries, a short stop by the Golden Gate Bridge for photos and a leisurely stroll at Sonoma Plaza for some boutique shopping and lunch at great cafes/wine bars. It was a fun 8 hour experience!
Went from cold to hot. Some of the vineyards were air conditioned inside Comfortable bus. I’ve forgotten
Very nice wineries.. All the staff were nice and very knowledgeable. One issue was the sound system in bus sucked & could not understand driver.
Adolfo made the whole experience unforgettable. My family was there celebrating my nieces 21st and we decided to take this tour. He was fun, informative and kept us entertained. The tour was good, we could have left the 3rd winery out as it wasn’t that great but the whole experience was great!
Great time! Definitely worth it!
