Everything went so splendidly! Judith took such good care of our group. Friendly, personable, and a great driver. And she is was so good about telling stories. Local history, statistics, environment, the flora and fauna, plants and animals , and even cooking. And timing! It was like clockwork. Plenty of time for all the activities she covered. How she kept up with driving and entertaining and keeping us on schedule was so smooth it was magical. She was a perfect traveling guide and companion. I
I wish Muir Woods was longer but the trip is totally worth it. Driver’s information was great. He was a good guide.
Muir Woods was impressive to see. Sausalito and Pier 39 were mostly tourist areas and mostly foods.
The tour was good - exactly as described. The downfall was the tour guide, Joe. While he was very knowledgeable, he had a poor attitude. He made multiple snarky comments to travelers. At the end, one traveler did not tip him and he told her to get off the bus rudely. Again, it was a nice tour, but we wish the guide would have been more pleasant/enjoyed his job a little more.
The Muir Woods were outstanding. Great way to see the woods without the hassle of acquiring hard to get tickets and parking passes. Enough time in the woods, 90 minutes, to see all. Sausalito needed more time. The 60 minutes was too short to eat lunch and do any exploration of the attractive shops.
Muir Woods is a National Treasure and must see.
We could not attend this due to medical conditions for my husband, but could not cancel it due to 24 h cancellation policy. But they are so helpful, they immediately processed the refund after we submitted the hospital documents. They were really kind and prompt with the situation. I highly recommend them!
I found several tour options to Muir Woods Monument, but only Gray Line had the option not to purchase National Park tickets. We didn’t need them as we have a senior pass, saving us $30. We also could choose between a bus ride or ferry ride to return to San Francisco from Sausalito. They had 2 different pick up locations in SF for pick up too. Our guide, Don, was friendly and patient with the stragglers, not wanting to leave anyone behind. He shared some history during the drive, which he managed in a quick and safe manner. The park is a MUST SEE when in the area, especially if you have never visit such a forest. We were very pleased to find that most of the trails were made into a wooden boardwalk. We spent 90 minutes there, which was perfect.
First class driving and tour commentary. Very professional and fun. Incredible views. Highly recommended.
Loved every moment of this lil hike. Chilled Vibes. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Breathtaking experience.
We really enjoyed our trip to Muir Woods. The driver, Joe, was awesome! Great drive, good information, clean comfortable bus. Highly recommend!
The tour company grey line Was so understanding that our schedule was screwed up and we missed our tour They offered to reschedule for another day with no additional cost Then our driver was extremely informative and patient with everybody and gave us plenty of time to do what we wanted at each location. She gave us options. She explained everything to us so we knew exactly what to expect. I would highly recommend gray line tours to any body else that is considering a tour and this particular tour was absolutely wonderful.
Muir Woods was awesome and the connection to nature and the real experience amoung large trees is moving. Limousine service and tour guide was awesome too. Sausalito feels like an upper midwest/Great Lakes town, very friendly and walking access to the marinas was great too. Bay Cruise was very windy, bring a jacket with a hood even if it is warm outside, it will be 20 degrees cooler out in the bay. But lots of windows and seating inside the cruise boat, plus food and drinks if you are hungry. Though not part of the tour, the Cafe Encore was friendly and the food was good. The 1st stop of the limousine pickup was across the street from Cafe Encore, they open at 6am good egg and cheese sandwich and coffee, plus muffins and sweets to prep for the day.
The begining of the trip was great starting with the Golden gate bridge. Then heading to Muir Woods. The park was amazing but limited time there (which jappens for everyone not just the tour). Then we made our way back to Sausalito where we got to hangout for an hour at least our driver told us.. He must not have counted right or didn't care to wait a minute or less because we were spot on time but he left us. So luckly we were able to get onto a ferry back to the bay area otherwise it would have been a $60.00 Uber ride back. The driver was knowledgable but barely could hear him 3 rows back. We were just not impressed about being left behind. Other than that it was a great expirence.
It was the perfect day! The bus ride was scenic and loved the fun facts our guide shared with us. I like that we stopped at a scenic point to take pictures by the Golden Gate Bridge. The Muir Woods was just right and the short trip to Sausalito made for a nice relaxing drive before having time to shop and eat. Definitely would recommend this for a day trip for our family. We truly enjoyed it.
The time departure time on Viator says 8 am, but when you look at the details it says departure is 7:40 am. We loved Muir Woods. It was a great tour.
Our bus tour guide, Danny, was full of historical anecdotes and humor. Very personable, and detailed about the events of the day. Muir Woods is breathtaking and if you’re a hiker and have the time, schedule time to do some of the longer hikes. We heard the above canopy (Mt. Tamalpais) was extra special but 2 hours more than we had. We opted for the Pier 29 ferry, though, and it was great. We saw a whale’s spout, went under the Golden Gate Bridge, which the bus had gone across, so we got great views of I and Alcatraz, and the city views were great since we had a sunny day.
Our tour guide was amazing!! We had time to hike Muir Woods and stop at multiple points of beautiful scenery. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who’d like to cover a lot of ground in San Francisco. Only downside is it did not include Alcatraz.
Really enjoyed Muir Woods and the boat ride around the bay. I would return again.. I would recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes and a coat. We were there in January..
I had a very nice trip. Muir woods is a great place to visit with good energy. Sausalito has its own vibe of peace and quietness. I also enjoyed so much my 1-hour bay cruise. The company offered very good service with a reasonable price.
Muir woods was amazing, I wish we could have stayed longer. In Sausalito the driver told us to be back in an hour. I set my alarm on my phone for 55 minutes and came right back to where the bus should have been and it was gone with all my stuff aboard. We got our stuff back the next day but the situation caused a lot of stress.
Early morning the way to go. Much less crowded. Both parts of trip were great. Bundle up in the fall, it's a bit chilly, especially on the windy bay.
Everything was fine other than the fact that not enough time was allotted for Sausalito. We were there from 11 till noon, too early for lunch. Had we been there from 11 till 1, we could have had lunch and still had time to walk around and shop.
Fantastic trip! The weather was perfect, the transportation was comfortable and the tour guide was great. All the other participants were pleasant and made for an easy-going and lovely day. Fantastic tour destinations!
Beautiful trip! Great tour guide, super comfy bus, smooth ride! The trees and nature were healing and awe inspiring. Had delicious Peach Bellini's and champagne overlooking the ocean in Sausalito, it was perfect😍 and the bay cruise was a nice little trip around the bridge and back. I would definitely recommend, it was our 15 year wedding anniversary and was a magical day☺️🌈👍🙏
The stop to view the Golden gate bridge was great. The redwood trees were also amazing. The Bay cruise fantastic.
We really enjoyed our day in this area, and this tour! Our driver/tour guide kept us safe and on time during the day. He provided good info too. We had never been to Muir Woods and found it so beautiful. Truly enjoyed all of the 90 minutes we were able to spend here (which is the park limit). I can't imagine trying to see Muir Woods without being part of a tour, as the parking is a nightmare, but our bus was able to drop us off front and center. We had both been to Sausilito before, but it had been awhile, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We took the ferry back to San Francisco, so we had a little extra time to spend in Sausilito. The ferry ride was fabulous too - we saw the bridge and Alcatraz, and it was a beautiful day in the harbor. This day could not have gone better! Great communication for place and time of pick up too. Thank you!
Super convenient way to see the bridge, Muir Woods and Sausalito. Our driver was very impressive navigating the large bus through the windy roads while providing interesting commentary. Bay tour was nice, but the guide was a recording. Probably would have enjoyed a more interactive in-person guide, similar to the bus portion. Overall, really enjoyed.
It was a very nice and organized tour. I would recommend it. The Muir Woods were beautiful and the bay cruise was amazing.
It was great! Joseph was an excellent tour guide and driver and he gave us fun facts as we left San Fran and made our way to Muir Woods! We even stopped at the Golden Gate Bridge, which I did not expect and was pleasantly surprised by! The stop allowed us to snap pics and to use the restrooms. As we drove into Muir Woods Joseph told us about the trees and wildlife. Muir Woods was phenomenal! It was showering but it just made it atmospheric! There were various paths and the main ones has wood boardwalks. I throughly enjoyed my 90 mins at Muir Woods. Sausalito was great too! Joseph gave us recommendations on various food places and we went to the Mexican restaurant. It was a great time and I was very glad we booked a tour. I highly recommend!
Tour bus driver Joe was excellent, providing commentary on the drives to Muir Woods and Sausalito. Opted for the tour with the Bay Cruise. Bay Cruise is done via a redeemable voucher at Pier 39– and as of the date of my tour, could be used at any point within 2 weeks. It did not have to be used the same day! All together a very easy way to visit Marin without renting a car
I was sceptical about this tour. But it passed all expectations. Muir Woods is a "go to" for anyone visiting San Francisco. It is difficult to get to with public transport so a tour bus is ideal. 90 minutes at the woods is plenty.
Muir Woods Park is amazing. It is only 30 minutes from San Francisco, so it is a great option if you want a half-day tour. Punctual and well-organized. The driver guide, Jan, was a native and gave us many tips about the city.
Wonderful areas to visit and lived up to all expectations. The driver was a great chap and very entertaining and helpful.
Amazing to see the Giant Redwood trees. Can't believe how big they are! Sausalito beautiful place to visit. Bay cruise was fabulous to see the Golden gate bridge and Alcatraz.
I am a tall person and the bus/van used for this tour was ridiculously cramped and uncomfortable, not to mention dirty. As a general rule, being packed into a small space like sardines makes for a physically unpleasant and potentially unsafe experience. If Grayline cannot offer a comfortable mode of transport, they should not be selling tours. Furthermore, the time allotted to explore Muir Woods and Sausalito was insufficient. We didn't realize that most of the tour was "on our own" and unguided. Very disappointing experience.
Muir Woods is remarkable though the tour is not. Advertised as a tour lasting 3 hours in Muir Woods (we were there 2). We were supposed to be in Saulsilito for two hours and we were there for 1 1/2 hours. The driver gave directions once, if asked to repeat he became irritated and never gave the info. The pickup instructions and location didn’t coincide with texts/emails and the location was difficult to identify. Finally I thought I had purchased a package that I could take the ferry back to Saulsilito at my leisure not take an hour cruise departing from Pier 39, did this yesterday. Again confusing description on product.
The driver was entertaining and very well versed. Also very good driver. We had a great time in the woods. We were too hungry to make the Bus back from Sausalito but we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thank you.
The service provided from the pickup through drop-off was excellent. Logisitics were clearly explained and the driver was great. His commentary and the excursions were all executed very well. The only thing I would change is to have had 1.5 hours in Sausalito versus 1 hr.
We had a wonderful relaxing experience with our tour guide who made the trip that much better! Perfect amount of time in Muir Woods!
Muir woods was absolutely amazing. So cool to see the Redwoods. Sausalito is a nice little place with great views but definitely expensive. Nice to see it but no interest in ever going back again. Our driver Huck had so much information. He also did a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge which we were all very thankful for. Was able to get great photos of the bridge. Great experience overall with a very informative and helpful driver.
This tour was the best ever. Our tour guide and awesome driver was excellent! Beautiful trees and experience in Muir woods. Would recommend to anyone who wants to see a ton of sights and learn about San Francisco s history. This was a fantastic experience for the price and tour guide!
The Muir Woods were absolutely stunning and breathe taken! Loved the e ancient feel of the trees and the forest! The Sausalito tour was beautiful in itself and had great food and tourist shops! I’m from the east coast and I will most definitely be coming back to California with my friends next time and do this tour all over again! Thank you for the beautiful experience!
Tour was amazing nice coach bus. Driver was excellent, friendly, informative and professional. Muir woods was Serene a magnificent experience, Sausalito was a nice experience as well. Our driver recommended a restaurant and it was a good choice, Bay cruise was lovely as well, seeing the GGB from dry land earlier that morning and then on water the afternoon, was excellent. It was a great option to be able to have the flexibility of doing the bay cruise whenever u like (good to use up to 2 weeks after initial) Just a bit cold for us Floridians :) but it was a great tour overall.
Excellent trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. We loved Muir Woods, it was stunning. The boat ride on the bay was also very nice.
This was a great experience! Highly recommend it. Seeing the giant redwoods has been on my bucket list for a very long time and I was not disappointed.
The driver/tour guide is very knowledgeable and a good driver. Some part of the roads are difficult to drive. The park is beautiful.
A great combination trip!! As part of our recent trip to San Francisco, my wife and I booked the Muir Woods and ferry trip back to San Francisco. What a great time indeed. Our bus driver, Joe, was a wealth of interesting knowledge during our bus trip. The drive to Muir Woods was comfortable, safe, and enjoyable. The 90 minutes at Muir Woods allows sufficient time to take in the beauty of this spectacular site. The bus ride from Muir Woods to Sausalito is also interesting. Opting to take the ferry ride from Sausalito to San Francisco, we were able to take in the water views en route and great photos of Alcatraz. Highly recommended!!
Muir Woods is an awesome experience - serenity, calm and an incredible connection to nature. The tour package and guide were excellent. Adding the bay cruise was a real plus to the day.
