Muir Woods And Sausalito Small Group Tour

Our driver/guide was great. He gave us a lot of information about the area and about our stops. It was a gorgeous day so that added to the experience.

Dustin was a good guide with plenty of information about San Francisco

I wasn’t particularly satisfied with the guide’s service or attitude. I didn’t find him particularly friendly. Most of the tour involved transportation between stops, with limited guidance and plenty of free time to explore on our own at each stop. Given the price, I expected a better experience. The tipping sign in the van described 20% as a generous tip, which I found misleading and pressuring.

Guide Ben was a great guide and the Woods and Sausalito were awesome. Golden Gate Bridge, views, BIG trees, wildlife and shopping made for a great afternoon!

Really enjoyed the day trip to Muir Woods. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. Randall, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and super helpful. Highly recommend.

We got picked up in Union Square, an easy walk from our hotel. Our guide, Kat, greeted us with a big smile & lots of energy! We waited past our departure time for a couple who were late. We had to leave without them due to the timing of other excursions & guests needs. Tip #1 - Don’t be late!! Arrive well before departure time! Rode in a very nice, clean van. Kat provided interesting commentary throughout. Muir Woods was so quiet & peaceful. The trees were magnificent! They’re so tall, they block out the sun so it was chilly there (morning tour). Tip #2 - bring layers to stay warm. We enjoyed the beautiful views on our tour & especially enjoyed Kat’s knowledge, humor & enthusiasm!

This is a very enjoyable experience. The driver was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The woods and drive up were a great experience with wonderful views. Would have liked additional time in Sausalito.

This was a perfectly planned itinerary! The tour provides sufficient time at each stop, and the drive is scenic. Our guide, Dustin, provided interesting information along the way, and had a great sense of humor to add a touch of entertainment. He was also helpful at the conclusion of the tour in offering different drop off points with restaurant recommendations.

We really enjoyed our trip to Muir Woods and Sausalito. Since we didn’t have a car, this was an easy way to get to these two places.

The Muir Woods alone are well worth the experience. Very easy walk through the groves. Van can be cramped in the last row, so line up to the van early (right at the Pier 33 gate). Part of the tour was Sausalito - a bonus! And going back to San Francisco included a better view of the iconic Golden Gate bridge. Overall it was an afternoon well-spent.

Tour was informative and glad we went. Justin did a great job. Time frames were tight! Worked but if more people were also visiting Muir Woods st same time, time allotted would not have worked. Also st Salsalito, not much time. I would recommend but explain to friends.

Fantastic tour. Our tour guide, Ben, was fantastic and really knowledgeable. The length of the tour was perfect. Lots of time to explore the woods and walk around in Sausalito. Highly recommend recommended.

This was a great tour of parts of San Francisco, Muir Woods, and Saucelito. It was a rainy and foggy day, but Dustin was a great tour guide for all of it. He showed us the best spots to get pics of the Golden Gate Bridge and the best spots for food and treats in Saucelito. Muir Woods was beautiful even in the rain. Great tour!

We weren't able to have our tour since the night before, we were told the start time was moved forward, which would have put us entirely too close to our cruise departure time. Then, when we reached out to cancel, the tour organizer completely ghosted us.

Muir Woods was a beautiful place with very helpful docents who taught us about salmon and taking cool photographs!

This tour was exactly what I was looking for! We left at 2:10 promptly, got a lovely intro by our guide Johanna, stopped for photos of the Golden Gate Bridge and bay, then arrived at Muir Woods. It was breathtakingly beautiful and so peaceful. We then spent an hour in Sausalito, which was great for photos, ice cream/food, and souvenirs from local artists. We arrived back at the Pier by 6. A perfect little afternoon to see nature and the surrounding areas!

Operator texted to advise trip was cancelled then on again, and that it would depart around 2:10. Whilst on my way, advised in traffic and according to my driver was 2 minutes away. No response, they departed and kept my money. Egregious act, will never recommend an operator that has such poor communication.

Nice way to spend an afternoon.

I really enjoyed this Tour and our tour guide was absolutely delightful. Meet-up was easy to find and I feel like all of the stops were the perfect amount of time to explore Muir Woods, Sausalito, and Golden Gate vista as little as well as capture photos. Overall great Tour, pace of trip was good, and it was the perfect length. Would definitely recommend to others. As a bonus, it was nice to see the Tour guide a few days later as I was waiting to cross the street...she was blowing and waving ! 😊

Bring a sweater cause it’s chilly down there even if it’s warm than anywhere else. This was a lovely experience with nature.

The Woods were magical! Our tour guide, Ben, gave us good information about the areas we’re traveling through along the way. The stops at the Bridge were great photo opts! The length of time spent in each area was just enough. Ben gave recommendations in Sausalito. He was helpful and fun, despite having some interesting characters in our group. 😉 Thanks Ben for a good experience!

This was a very good way to see Muir Woods. The ride was comfortable and our guide was helpful. The convenience of the pickup area was appreciated.

Our guide Anja was amazing. She provided a lot of fun and interesting history of San Francisco on our way to The Muir Woods. We stopped to take pictures of The Golden Gate Bridge. The Muir Woods was an incredible experience. We stopped in Sausalito, a very cute little town on the way back for a quick bite. We enjoyed the entire trip and the amount of time at the Muir Woods and Sausalito was perfect for us.

The tour was well organised, the mini bus clean and comfortable. Dustin our guide was friendly, helpful and informative. Muir woods was amazing and got some lovely views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Anja was a wonderful guide! We originally booked this tour with my dad in mind and he ended up not being able to join the trip altogether, but absolutely zero regrets going on without. Anja was funny, knowledgeable, careful driver and patient. Truly a great experience that I would recommend for all ages. Thank you, Anja!!

Dustin was an excellent guide and driver. The van was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the ride to Muir Woods, and the allotted time at the woods was perfect. We had a delicious lunch in Sausalito and ended up staying in town for the afternoon and taking the ferry back. All in all a great day. Would definitely recommend.

The pros of the trip on October 3, 2026 included the awesome walk through the Coastal Redwoods/ Sequoias of Muir Woods; the skill of the driver/Guide on a seriously difficult road; the small town easy atmosphere of time spent in Sausalito; and the area specific knowledge the driver/Guide was able to share.  The disappointing aspects included being admonished by the driver for being three minutes late (arrived 9:48 for 9:45 pickup) for "holding everyone up" and then having to climb onto an already very crowded van.  I would have gladly taken an option to wait for a later van or a trip on a different day. Lastly, while we normally very generously tip tour guides, the large sign on this van would have been a sufficient reminder (IF folks wanted to tip her) without the personal press. 

I enjoyed a lovely walk through Muir Woods and a quick trip to Sausalito. It was exactly as advertised. And because we were on time and the fog had obscured the Golden Gate Bridge on our exit from the city, our guide brought us to to viewpoint on the opposite side for a few photos. It was priced well and muchvless expensive than the cruise line excursion.

Great trip and spent decent amount of time in Muir Wood. Enjoyed Sausalito too. Took option yo go back to San Francisco on the ferry. Great day.

Ben was a great tour guide! We enjoyed our stops at Muir Woods and Sausalito. Even got a bonus stop on the way home to view the bridge again once the fog lifted.

Dustin was very well informed and clearly enjoyed sharing information about San Francisco and Muir Woods. He is a good driver on the challenging road to and from the Woods. He is friendly and attentive to his passengers.

A walk through nature at its oldest and best. Clean and well maintained yet feels like a natural forest

This was a great tour! Dustin was a wonderful tour guide. He also has a fantastic sense of humor and kept us laughing throughout the trip. Perfect trip to see the golden gate, stroll through Muir Woods and Sausalito. His recommendations for lunch were on point to. You can tell he’s very good at his job and enjoys doing it which makes a tour so much more memorable.
