We thought we were signed up for a food tour, but ended up with so much more! Catherine, our tour guide, is truly passionate about the history of San Francisco. She was extremely accommodating, knowledgeable, and just a really cool person. The food we ate was above and beyond our expectations (not gimmicky). It was really fun to get to learn as much as we did-- thank you, again, Catherine!

We had a great experience on our tour of the Mission District! I love food tours and have been on many around the world, and this was among the best. The food was great and filling, and our guide, Jinny, was fantastic! Highly recommend!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Private Mission Food Tour with Michael. The history & tastings were excellent! Really fun day. Can’t wait to eat through another SF neighborhood. Thank you.
Come hungry, open minded, and curious! My tour guide has great knowledge of the area and was able to introduce us to things we never noticed before
I had a blast taking my friend Becky and her caregiver sara to this Misson food tour and I'd doing it again highly recommend it's safe and fun for foodies
Kathryn was an amazing tour guide. We stopped at 5 fabuious food spots and all the food was amazing - especially the empanadas. She was so knowledgeable about the area. Very friendly and made sure we all had a great experience!
Our tour of the Mission was both delicious and informative! We learned so much about the history of a neighborhood we've been to many times - but never knew! The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. All of the food selections were excellent.
Michael is a fantastic guide with excellent knowledge of the history and restaurants/bars in the Mission District.
Sidewalk Food Tours in San Francisco totally nails it with their Mission District tour but most especially ALBERT! Albert, our guide, was the best ever—totally knew his stuff and made our trip super special with all his cool stories about the local vibe. The food was amazing, showing off all the unique tastes of the neighborhood. Albert made the whole day super fun and unforgettable. Definitely hit this up if you’re in SF - it’s the real deal for an authentic local experience!
We had an amazing experience. Our guide Spud was so much fun. We learned so much about the history of the neighborhood. All the food stops were excellent. There is so much food. Come hungry! You will not be disappointed!
The Mission Food tour was a wonderful combination of Mission history, culture a d food. We learned a lot and enjoyed some great foods.
We had an absolutely amazing time on the Mission District food tour led by Michael! He was the best guide we could have asked for—friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate. Michael shared fascinating history about the area and took us to some of the most delicious and diverse spots in the neighborhood. Every stop was a treat, and his recommendations were spot on! This experience was unforgettable, and we can’t wait to book another tour for our next company outing. Thank you, Michael, for such a fantastic day!
Great food. Great stories. We highly recommend this tour led by Spud. A nice way to learn about this unique part of the city.
The food was incredible and had a good variety. Spud H gave a brief history of the area and was engaging. We had a toddler along and even she enjoyed herself.
This food tour was so well organized. The restaurants and food samples choices were spot on. Our guide Casey was so knowledgeable about the history of the mission district and her stories kept us all interested. I highly recommend this food tour
I loved this food tour. Spud is the best tour guide. He is so knowledgable not just about the food but also the history and culture of SF. I would go on any of Spud's tours if I have the chance.
We had such a great tour with Michael, the narrative about the history of the district and how the communities and cuisine evolved made us feel present and added to our enjoyment of the food we sampled. The history of the murals added another layer of interest. Dietary requirements were catered for with no stress
Overall, this is a very good tour. Michael, our guide, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the Mission District, the restaurants in the area, and SF as a whole. The food was very good and we left full. It was nice that we always walked a few blocks between food stops to give us time to digest. Note that no drinks are provided on this tour. Other tours I've done have typically included some kind of drink. The places we went to did have interesting options, like sangria, agua fresca, horchata, but we had to pay for those ourselves. Guess that's OK, given the price point. Just pointing it out. My only other comment is that while we got a ton of information on the area and its history, we did not get much information about the food itself or the people behind it. While eating, we were pretty much left alone. Michael was great at answering questions if we asked them, but I was surprised we didn't get some kind of "story" in each place we stopped. I'm a foodie and a local, so was familiar with everything we had; but others may not, for example, have known what an "arepa" was.
Michael was our tour guide through the Mission District. He did an awesome job and the four of us thoroughly enjoyed the history and the food! Props to him. Will and have recommended him already!
Jinny was an enthusiastic and informative guide. She really loves the city and gave us a great crash course on the Mission District. The food was delicious.
A taste of the Mission District booming food scene was a great 3 hour walk. Michael B led the way, shared his knowledge and in closing, we finished at the scrumptious Tartine Bakery. Loved it.
Spud was knowledgeable and personable. Even though I am a native San Franciscan I appreciated all the stories about the area and city. There was a good selection of tastes. A great way to see the area.
We've loved many food tours in Europe, so thought we'd try the experience in S.F., even though we've lived here for 30 years. The Mission District food was OK, but the overall experience was a little below average. Biggest concern was that we were supposed to be on a 3 hour tour, but our guide talked so much that it lasted for over 4 hours, and that wasn't a bonus. He talked for 45 minutes on the sidewalk before we even went to our first food stop, and we were HUNGRY! A little history goes a long way, but too much history is just a bore. Enjoyed the side trips to view the Mission murals, but we spent more time looking at street art than eating. And of the 5 restaurants we went to, we only went inside one. All other food was eaten on the sidewalks out of paper bags. We arrived at our final destination so late that we had to take our "breakfast buns" on the go, and who wants breakfast buns for dessert @ 3pm? Finally, not a single food stop included anything to drink except water. There was sangria and beer to be purchased at an added cost, but every food tour we've done in Europe very much sampled the food and the wine TOGETHER. This tour was completely devoid of alcohol, which I'm afraid makes it not worth the cost.
We are local and had a great time! We learned about the history of the area and the food in the Mission. We had a variety of great food from taco's and empanadas to pastries. A terrific way to spend 3 hours getting to experience The City and the food. I highly recommend for tourist as well as locals
We had a fabulous foodie day in the Mission with Jinnie P. All of the food was delicious and Jinnie was an excellent guide. An added perk was seeing the many murals that grace the walls of buildings in the Mission. It is a vibrant City neighborhood, and even though I grew up in SF, I was fascinated by some of the historical gems Jinnie shared with us. I would highly recommend this tour to locals and tourists alike.
We like food tours to eat, of course, but also to see a part of a city we want to know more about. This tour was FANTASTIC for both! Our food stops were exceptional, and our guide was knowledgeable, funny, and gracious. What a great way to spend a few hours!
Great experience! Our guide was fantastic. We learned a lot about the history of the Mission District as well as the food. Great atmosphere in the group. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Jinny P is the best tour guide, enthusiastic, and ready to impart her knowledge of the area & food!!
Interesting visiting the lesser known areas of San Francisco. The food was very tasty and Spud was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. We really enjoyed the murals.
Every stop had not only amazing food, but great history explained by our fantastic guide, Paul aka Spud. We learned what makes the Mission district so special, it’s people!
One of the best food tours I’ve taken. We had a private tour for our work team with 10 people. Luci was really friendly and super knowledge of SF history. The food was not the only highlight, we walked the Mission district murals and Lucy had stories for everything we saw. The 5 stops were top choices and well known-Craftsman & Wolves, taqueria Cancun, Venga and the best for last Tartine Bakery. Can’t recommend this tour enough.
Thoroughly enjoyed this culinary experience! It was much more than a food tour, as we learned a lot about the district’s history and culture while tasting the local cuisine. That said, the food was FANTASTIC and plentiful! A great variety of options too. Our tour guide Jinny was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!
We had a fabulous time walking through the Mission District and eating delicious food (so much we had to take some back with us!). And as we went from restaurant to restaurant we saw fantastic examples of local art to talk about as we enjoyed our next dish!
Delicious food, fun interesting and educational walking tour of the Mission District In San Fransisco with our guide Blair. Great time had by all! Highly recommend
"Timmy Boy" ( he will explain) was one of the best guides I've ever had. As a local bringing an out-of-town guest( from New Zealand) I thought I'd be bored but I learned soooooooo many fascinating bits of info , plus some really delish food bite. would give it 10 stars if I could.
The Mission District is eclectic, buzzing, edgy and artistic. It is the type of place that a guide is perfect for AND we got the perfect guide in Blair. He was all of the above and has grown up in the area. We even got to see where his parents had their first date! The food was incredible but the culture, art (som many murals!!) and history were equally important. Blair delivered on all fronts. We had a small group (my husband and I from Iowa) as well as a family (father, adult daughter and son in law) Jim, Chris and Ruth from Scotland. What a great family. The weather was top notch. I have been on other food tours in SF and this is by far the best. Blair as a guide put it over the top. Thank you for doing this.
Blair was knowledgable, fun and had great taste in food. We visited 5 very different places and loved them all.
Blair M was the leader and despite his mild-mannered and even shy appearance he is a FIRECRACKER who is brimming over with really cool facts and stories and who is unabashedly in love with his neighborhood and all it has to offer. Highly highly recommend, it was such a wonderful time! And the food was superb.
Delightful tour, both in the food we experienced and in the expert and entertaining background information provided by Spud. We had the best time and tried to most unique and delicious food. 10/10 would do again.
Wow! What a cultural culinary delight! Delicious food items with back-stories on the foods and the neighborhood. We would never have known about or found these restaurants without Blair, our talented guide, if we did not take this tour. Value and quality at a good price point. A real understanding and taste of the Mission District. A great experience and memory for the whole family!
Blair was an excellent guide, provided a great balance of local knowledge, historical context and yummy food!
Our guide, Spud was great! The food was varied, delicious and portions were generous. The Mission District is vibrant and fun to visit! Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time exploring the Mission District with Charly. She was so fun and had a lot of interesting information to share, but most of all the food was DELICIOUS!
This was an amazing tour Scott was a really good tour guide and we learnt loads about the area and also tasted some amazing food
Scott was an amazing your guide. So knowledgeable and really friendly. Also gave an excellent recommendation for cocktails after the tour.
Great tour - don't be greedy and eat it all 'cos you'll be full before the last treat! Scott was knowledgeable about many aspects of San Francisco life and kept us amused and interested throughout.... and well fed! Recommended
Our tour guide Lauren was excellent! She was great at sharing the history of the area, as well as all of the great food we had. Highly recommennd!
We enjoyed seeing several restaurants. Great food and fun. Easy walk and enjoyed tour along the way. Lauren was delightful. Great family activity with older kids.
The three of us REALLY enjoyed touring the Mission District with Lauren. She is a fantastic tour guide and incredible human being. I suspect we’ll see her on TV someday…maybe Food Network. The stops we made were perfect. Savory muffins, chic Indian fusion, beef tongue tacos, empanadas, award winning cookies and more. Lauren is very knowledgeable and tells super interesting stories. A perfect tour all around!
Lauren was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable! The food was so delicious and I appreciated all the cultural and historical information and getting to have a couple of options of dishes.
