Great guide and tour on e-bike. We felt well prepared for our first e-bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was 3 hours and at the end we all sat down for lunch. Great photos ops.

We had an amazing experience with Blazing Saddles. We rented e-bikes in San Francisco and rode over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, which was absolutely beautiful. We toured around the town and, instead of taking the ferry back, we decided to ride all the way back because we enjoyed it so much. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful and the bikes performed perfectly. It was an unforgettable adventure. To top it off, we met the owner of Blazing Saddles' sister, who lives in Sausalito, by chance. We chatted with her she was lovely and we even had a beer and food at her recommend restaurant, The Joinery on the water front. We’d highly recommend it to anyone.
A very mixed experience. My wife is really not very confident on a bike and was quite nervous. We made this clear before booking, stressed that we would need to go easy and were assured that the group we were with would go slow and steady. Arrived at the departure point and the guys there were excellent, explaining operation of the e bikes clearly and allowing my wife to gain a little confidence. The issues began when the guide took over. He was clearly in a hurry and no sooner had he showed up and we were off. My wife and I set off at the rear of the group only to see them disappear into the distance. We caught up with them at the first stop on the tour just in time for the group to set off. Again we caught up at the second stop and tried to take a photo as the group again shot off. Being a Saturday, the tour route was pretty busy and this time we lost the group completely watching them disappear into the distance; it is clear that the guide made no effort to ensure the group stayed together even though it was evident we were straggling. We were no where near the Golden Gate Bridge at this stage and from this point on used google maps to navigate our way on the cycle trail and make our own way to Sausalito. Overall a stressful experience for my wife who blamed herself for our losing the group whereas I blame the guide for not taking proper care of his group. If you’re not confident on a bike and fear you may not keep up, do a self guided tour. I would add one further note. The road into Sausalito is quite steep downhill and the surface is poor with no separate cycle lane. Whilst we found cars were generally well behaved I would warn those lacking confidence that this section could be stressful. We did see a child come off their cycle on this downhill section as they caught their front wheel in a deep crack in the road surface; I used myself and my bike to block the road whilst he got up and recovered from his fall.
Really neat experience. We would definitely do this tour again. The ebikes were easy to understand and use, which was definitely needed with the hills. I'm not sure how many miles we rode, but I would guess at least 15-20 from start to Sausalito. Ginger was great, kind and patient. Lots of nice places to eat in Sausalito and you're taken through different neighborhoods before entering the bridge and are stopped for great bridge pics. We brought bikes back on the ferry and kept them for several more hours to explore SF.
The route was so much fun - we saw areas such as For Mason and the Presidio that we wouldn't have gone to otherwise. Orla was a fantastic guide and I thoroughly enjoyed her commentary. My college daughters loved eating and shopping in Sausalito. It was very easy to take the ferry back. The only point for improvement was that the radio transmitter was spotty unless you were close to the guide.
I can’t say enough good things about this Tour. Our guides, Marcos and Molly were outstanding and shared wonderful knowledge about the area. They were very concerned about our safety. We stopped often and regrouped and learned about new fun facts about the area.
This was a staggeringly good tour from beginning to end. Marcus is a brilliant guide. Not only do you get a breathtaking crossing of the Bridge but you get some fascinating parts of the City either side. Ride so good we rode back too. A must do when you’re in SF.
Vedran was a wonderful tour guide! He was so laid back, easygoing and provide us with rich history of SF. The e-bikes helped tremendously!! I probably only pedal 30% of the time. The bike ride was roughly 2.5-3 hours but we wished it was longer! It was a 10/10 experience for us!
The trip was tailored to the desires of our group, as we were a small one. Our leader, Eli, was knowledgable, friendly, and fun to be with! Thanks Eli!!
Our check-in, review of safety procedures, rules & such went well. The bike they originally gave me was too big so they quickly found a smaller one that I was more comfortable using. Our guide, Eli, was funny, very knowledgeable about the area & the places we stopped. Before we crossed the bridge he pulled us over & gave us general advice about how to stop on the bike lanes so as to not impede others & to be aware of the 'spandex warriors'. After we arrived in Sausalito, he spent several minutes after the tour ended giving advice on things to see & do, talked with those who were going to keep their bikes for longer about their procedures & took the rest of us to the place where we dropped off our bikes & gave us the ferry schedules to get back across to San Francisco. Riding a bike over the Golden Gate was a fantastic experience and I recommend this tour. I will say that a couple of the hills we had to climb were brutal. :)
Our visit to San Francisco was part of a 3 week cross country Amtrak trip and this tour was definitely one of the highlights. I learned about the tour on Trip Advisor but waited until we arrived to check out the business in person before booking. We own our own ebikes and are particular about what we ride. (We are old and need throttles and comfy seats.) After meeting the staff and tour guides, we booked for the next day. Our guide for the day was Bill. He’s very personable and did a wonderful job sharing the right amount of information and keeping us moving. There is no way we would have been able to create a tour on our own of this quality using Google Maps. Bill knew all the cool photo ops on our trip to Sausalito and I have the photos to prove it. And what a THRILL to cross the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time on a bike!!! We opted to keep the rental bikes for the rest of the day instead of turning them in upon reaching Sausalito. (No additional cost.) I was proud of myself that I didn’t get lost nor need GPS to get back to the Wharf. We even rode up to the bottom of Lombard St. (I confess, my husband rode up there but I walked the last block - the steep road was freaking me out. I walked back down 2 blocks before I rode again.) This tour is an absolute MUST DO!
This e-bike tour completely changed my opinion of San Francisco. It took us to unique spots away from what you'd typically expect to see, showcasing places that are truly part of the soul of the city. This experience was deeply enhanced by our guide Peter's incredible knowledge. He was so easy to talk to and brought a great blend of humor and local insight to the entire trip. We absolutely loved cycling through Golden Gate Park, and a real highlight was walking around the historic boat house to learn how it ended up there. Peter made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable, making the ride feel completely effortless. Afterward, we left our bikes in Sausalito and enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Joinery, then had a wander around the town before getting the ferry back to Pier 39. All in all, a fabulous day! If you book a guided tour with Blazing Saddles, definitely ask for Peter!"
The best part of this tour is that you get to keep hold of the bikes to explore further after reaching Sausalito. In my opinion the group we had was too large at about 16 people so they had a guide up front and a minder at the back but splitting in 2 would have been better. The guide was good but the stops where to short and a little erratic. The tour basically take you along the bay from the office near the turnaround for the trams, across the bridge and finishing in Sausalito. Once in Sausalito you can hand the bikes back and make your way back foot & ferry or taxi. Or you can keep the bike and ride back or take the ferry back. Unless you want ride around SF when you get back I would give the back in Sausalito. We kept our bikes and cycled to a fabulous viewing point looking down onto the bridge. Cycling back over the bridge was challenging because of the cross winds but we did then get to revisit the sights that we rode past on the way out
Overall this is a really good tour but even with the assistance of the battery some of the hills were a bit strenuous especially if you were in the wrong gear. We had about 16 people in our group and for me that was at least 6 too many for the type of tour. We have been in several bike and e bike tours over the years and the rule is that we go at the pace of the slowest. Here we had a guide at the front, whose name I can’t recall, and another employee, Mike, bringing up the rear which was sometimes a good few minutes later than the front runners. The guide was good but not the best we’ve had, stops seemed a bit rushed and disorganised but everything was done safely. For example he mentioned the white houses where the pilots used to live when one of the areas was a military airfield but we rode past so fast you couldn’t really appreciate them. I know that they are now private residences but if you rent or buy a historic building you have to expect some level of sightseeing. You need to bring your own water as none is provided and be prepared for it feeling a lot cooler in the shade and on the bridge where it can get very windy. The tour takes you to Sausalito where you can leave your bike and make your own way back by foot and ferry or taxi or keep the bike and drop it off as late as 8pm which is a great bonus. We met 2 other couples and together we rode to the main viewing point overlooking the bridge which was fantastic but exhausting. We rode back over the bridge and the cross wind was much stronger than in the morning and eventually after about 20 miles of riding and nearly 5 hours after picking the bikes up we dropped them off. This is a great way to see a lot of sights plus get across the bridge and back but there is more riding than stopping
Marcus, Molly, and Orla were excellent tour guides and very attentive with all group participants. We really enjoyed the tour especially thru the Presidio and across Golden Gate Bridge.
Excellent trip with a wonderful guide and history to learn about the area.
Eli was our guide and he was fantastic. The bikes are very high end and powerful, very useful on the steep hills. Made stops at interesting locations and had awesome views approaching and crossing bridge. I would highly recommend and do it again.
Bill H was such an amazing tour guide with a wealth of knowledge. He also stopped at various places to make sure everyone was safe. I learned so much about San Francisco even though I have been to this city many times. He also made good recommendations about where to eat in the city and also in Sausalito. The only thing I would recommend is to have another tour guide at the back of the pack. There was no way that Bill could make sure everyone was safe until we stopped to check on everyone.
Surprised by how much fun this was. Marcus was our guide and he did a splendid job. Recommend this to anyone wanting to see the bridge in a different manner as well as North SF.
This was AWESOME! I highly recommend this tour. The views were amazing and the history was so interesting. The bikes were easy to use and I always felt safe. There were several brief stops for photos and a bathroom stop. The ride over the GG bridge was an experience of a lifetime. I recommend taking the bikes back on the ferry to Pier 39. I highly recommend this tour.
Tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about the area. It was a cool way to experience the Golden Gate Bridge.
Thanks to this tour I got to see a side of SF that I would've never explored by myself. The weather gods were very kind on my day. The blue sky, even deep blue waters, lush green parks and a cool breeze.. and soaking it all in a bike was a truly great experience. Loved the energy of my host and guide aka the Chilean guy! I would take the tour again on my next visit!
The tour was our best day in San Francisco. The guide was knowledgeable, engaging and, friendly. Dominic rode behind to make sure we were all riding safe without issues! He helped my friend understand her e-bike and helped her up the first hill! We stayed in Sausalito to site see at the end and my other friend got a curb and ended up with a flat tire…. Dominic rode a bike to us to help and then when the tire couldn’t be fixed, he gave us his bike and walked back… it was an amazing, fun and crazy day and we had a blast
Such a great way to see these sights. We had guide Marcus and he was just wonderful. Highly recommended!!
We had a party of 4 arrived at the tour facility early as instructed we were able to jump into a tur that started 1 hour earlier than our booked event this worked out great as we landed a great tour guide Orla was our guide and she was the best. Very knowledgeable about the city history and very patient with the entire group. She was flexible and included some great stops and history along the way. She prepared us for the surroundings and made sure we were all safe. Everyone had a great time and would recommend Blazing saddles to anyone looking to enjoy the city by bike. Tim
A wonderful experience with exceptional guides (Marcus, assisted by Oscar). It was a beautiful ride and we learned a lot about the history of San Francisco the area, and the bridge. Marcus made it interesting and fun.****
Was an AMAZING TOUR! Riding over the Golden Gate Bridge was exhilarating! The guides Eli and Adelin were engaging and informative. We felt safe the entire tour. E-Bicycles from Blazing Saddles were powerful and made the climbs effortless.
We did an e-bike tour of the Golden Gate Bridge and rode over to Sausalito with Marcus on August 21, 2026. The enterprise was very organized - we got checked in and got our bikes promptly. The bikes were in good shape and were fitted for us. We got good instructions. Then Marcus took us on a lovely tour. He gave us great details and information. He was very safe and cognizant of his group, ensuring that we were all together and safe crossing streets and the bridge. He guarded the bikes on our short stops. He was kind enough to take photos of everyone in the group so we actually looked like we were doing the activity together! He gave us a great recommendation for lunch. He was a terrific tour guide. I'd highly recommend it!
The bridge is so windy, bring a jacket!! I recommend taking the ferry back for a scenic view of the city.
We had a guided tour to Sausalito with Oscar. We have never used an e-bike before and are both 50+. We had a wonderful time. Oscar was very informative and patient with us. He took us to beautiful spots and even took pictures for us. This was 100% worth the money and a do not miss when in San Fransisco.
This Blazing Saddles Electric Bike Tour of the SF City, over the Golden Gate Bridge, and into Sausalito was amazing! Our Expert Tour Guide, Peter, made it great with his wealth of knowledge of the SF history, inside knowledge, nuanced facts, and his humor. It was a good full day experience and the stops along the way made the 20 miles feel effortless. Take this tour with Peter of Blazing Saddles.
All the staff at Blazing Saddles were super friendly! Eli was a fantastic guide! Biking over the Golden Gate Bridge was awesome! Highly recommend!
Excellent way to experience the Marina neighborhood, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Sausalito. Friendly and attentive staff from start to finish. And Bill is a fantastic guide!
This was a very fun way to get out and see the city while learning some history and getting fresh air. Bill made it fun!
We had a great electric bike tour in San Francisco with Peter. Along with our family of four there was one other family, which was the perfect number for the tour. Peter was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny, and certainly made the tour enjoyable, and memorable. Picking up the bikes was very straightforward and when we cycled across the bridge to Sausalito we left them there to come back on a Blazing Saddles trailer. It couldn’t have been easier. We had booked the Blazing Saddles charter ferry which was punctual & very easy to access, especially without the bikes. It was a great way to see some of the sights of the city, cycle across the bridge, have a lovely lunch in Sausalito, and a ferry ride across the bay. We did 2 or 3 other tours/experiences in San Francisco while we were there, and we all agreed that the bike tour was our best day! We would highly recommend Blazing Saddles, especially with electric bikes!
My favorite experience in San Francisco! Definitely recommend the e-bike option. I haven’t ridden a bike in years and had never been on an e-bike - handled fine. DO IT!
We absolutely loved our e-bike tour of San Francisco with Blazing Saddles. I did the tour with my son, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. It was such a fun and memorable way to see the city and we couldn’t have done more on our own. It was definitely worth the money and I highly recommend Blazing Saddles.
Friendly staff Check in and check out super easy Guides Peter and Meara were excellent A great time and experience
A do not miss experience! Orly was an amazing guide .. super knowledgeable and did a wonderful job leading the group. The ride across the bridge is exhilarating!
Need to show up 30min to checkin, sign waiver, and the staff will fit the best fit bicycle or for us the EBike was very helpful for our youngster and his elderly grandparents going up steep climb. Our guide “Orla” was very welcoming and professional on our tour. She stopped at various scenic points while providing valuable insight and history. She kept a watchful eye on all her “chicks” as we navigated thru the San Francisco bridge and fog. Sadly our journey ended in Sausalito town with our fabulous guide Orla. It was helpful of Blazing Saddle to secure a ferry back with your bikes to the pier of Fisherman Wharf. The equipment provided was very reliable which made the journey quite a memorable experience for all.
We had an awesome time and the experience was well worth the money. Our guide, Marcus, shared so much history along the ride and safety tips. He was also personable, patient - he offered to help with pictures and was overall fun!
Excellent guide. Bill was very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw lots of different areas of San Francisco before getting to the bridge. Highlight of our holiday.
Really enjoyed this e-bike tour around the iconic Golden Gate bridge area. We made plenty of stops for picture taking, a well-timed stop at a souvenir shop with snacks and refreshments and a restroom, and quite a few stops for stragglers from our group to catch up. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The ride across the bridge can be a little tricky, with pedestrians and other bicyclists going in both directions and not paying attention, and that makes enjoying the ride and scenery a bit difficult unless you're at a stop. I hadn't ridden an e-bike before but it didn't take long to get used to it and you always have the failsafe of pedaling over the modest inclines. Others may struggle with the e-bike if they aren't comfortable riding bikes in general. They can go pretty fast and be difficult to control is you're not careful. You end up in Sausalito at lunch time near a quaint small town with lots of great places to eat. You also get to keep the e-bike for 24 hours so you can ride further or go back across the bridge if you want.
The whole experience was terrific and Bill was an amazing tour guide- so personable and informative. I will definitely be recommending this tour!
My husband and I had so much fun riding from the pier, across the golden gate, into Sausalito and back! The bikes were in great condition, the staff at the Hyde Street store were very helpful and friendly, and the views were breathtaking! The highlight of our trip!
Great experience with Marcus and Ryan! Loved their positive energy and knowledge of the city. We had a very windy day so crossing the bridge was a bit of a challenge. This tour is best for experienced riders who are not afraid of heights.
Marcus was a great tour guide for this experience! He was knowledgeable and friendly, making everyone feel comfortable while riding throughout the tour. We enjoyed our time and thought it was the best way to experience the Golden Gate Bridge!
This was an incredible tour with Mitch. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped to make everyone feel comfortable with their bikes and the ride. It was the best way to experience the Golden Gate Bridge!
Eli was a fantastic guide- loved his personality and openness to chat with everyone. Great pace and the stories and history we learned along the way was one of the reasons I’d go with this tour vs just renting a bike to cross the bridge! Biking across the bridge is right in a few places but overall it was easy to pull off and soak in the views!
We found the e bike ride very comfortable with enough stops to break up the 13km ride. Marcus our guide was a great wealth of information and was supported by his wife Ursula who was also great value. My wife and I would highly recommend this tour.
