The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there. One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is still situated on its original site. In addition to hosting art exhibitions, it remains a popular attraction for tourists and locals.
Certainly the most-photographed bridge in the world, the Golden Gate Bridge is synonymous with San Francisco. Drive up to the viewing area, or the foot of the bridge at Fort Point, to take pictures. You can take even better pictures at Baker Beach, a few minutes drive past the bridge!
Nothing beats zooming down Lombard Street, San Francisco's "Crookedest Street" in your GoCar at the end of your tour. This is a great way to experience one of San Francisco's most iconic streets.
Drive through San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, passing the bustling Crab Shacks, Bakeries and Curio Shops on your way to Golden Gate Bridge. Don't forget to wave to the other visitors!
Look for sand dollars in the fog and take photos of Seal Rock as it juts out of the Pacific Ocean at Ocean Beach.
Some of the most beautiful views of San Francisco Bay are in the Presidio, a decommissioned military base that boasts beautiful architecture, a War Memorial, the Disney Museum and even a bowling alley! This area is just a 15 minute drive from Fisherman's Wharf, but feels like another world!
At the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, Fort Point is both an excellent photo spot for the bridge and a fascinating monument to Gold Rush -era San Francisco.
Crissy Field is where San Franciscan's exercise and play. Wave to runners, soccer players and dog walkers as you zoom past beautiful views of the Bay on your way to the Golden Gate Bridge.
A natural and cultural center, Golden Gate Park spans almost half the length of San Francisco, and is home to the Conservatory of Flowers, California Academy of Sciences, deYoung Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Stow Lake and the Buffalo Paddock.
View the Rodin Sculpture "The Thinker" outside the beautiful Legion f Honor Museum.
Sutro Baths are all that remains of what was once a popular SF natatorium that was destroyed in a fire. A hauntingly beautiful spot to view the North Pacific Ocean.

The Zeromax car was so cute and fun to ride in. The GPS feature added to the tour with seeing the top attractions. I would suggest doing the whole day tour because we ended up extending ours for a couple more hours because it was just that fun. I would highly recommend this tour.
This was my first time in San Francisco and I was very excited to do this tour. The people at the place didnt share that because of fleet week it would be difficult due to how busy it was going to be. We missed stops on the route due to absolutely no parking. It was awful and felt like a waste of time and money. The people at the place should have informed us and given us the opportunity to reschedule. Knowing what I know now I would not do it and would caution others to do it. I actually think we should have been given a discount for the large inconvenience is created.
The process was simple and easy, the tour was awesome!! We loved the audio tour and it was fun driving where we wanted to go.
We booked the Slingshot for three hours. It was so much fun. We got to see most of San Francisco and you get to go over the Golden Gate Bridge in this vehicle. Worth every penny. It was so well organised!
Unique way to see San Francisco. If you are coming from a country that drives on the other side of the road you're in for a treat. Our GPS was playing up and we missed Lombard Street but they were more than happy for us to go back out for free to drive down it. We did it on a Saturday and the traffic was pretty bad. 3 hours was tight and we couldn't see the painted ladies in our allotted time.
Such a great fun way to see San Francisco. The audio was interesting too with lots of great facts. A must ..
This is a great way to see and learn facts about the city. Cars are fun to drive, and the scavenger hunt makes it a fun experience.
This was viral on TikTok and went to the website to book. No one stated that there’s a $500 deposit needed. The $500 deposit should be mentioned first in the description when booking. We weren’t aware of the deposit until arrival. Unfortunately a whole group of us didn’t get to experience this.
We had a great time. Would do it again. Great way for the free spirited to see the city. We didn’t have to have a guide the gps let us do it at our pace. We paid for all day. And basically took the three hour tour at our own pace. We added the twin peaks, and painted ladies and all of the side trips And it toon 5 hours Make sure your audio is working before you leave, We could not hear ours and had to stop and call back in. The helper got us fixed up. Awesome trip
We rented the all day go car. It was beyond wonderful. We enjoyed it so much and were able to go off tour to certain places we had heard of just a wonderful experience. Your crew members are a spectacular group of individuals. Each went out out of their way for us and our adventures.
We rented two GoCars for the entire day, and overall it was a really fun and unique way to explore the city. The GoCars ran great, were easy to operate, and the GPS navigation was simple to follow. The built-in audio tour was a fantastic feature, providing interesting information and making the experience even more enjoyable. While the cars themselves were a bit worn cosmetically, they performed well and that didn’t affect our experience. I’m giving this experience 4 stars because the check-in process took much longer than expected. Since we booked through Viator, our reservation wasn’t loaded onto their check-in tablets, so nothing was prepared when we arrived. This delayed our departure and cut into our touring time. Additionally, the insurance information wasn’t very clear during booking. Viator mentioned an optional insurance fee, but when we arrived, we learned there were actually two recommended insurance options that would leave you with $0 out-of-pocket costs if anything happened to the vehicle. It would have been helpful if this had been explained more clearly upfront. Despite those issues, the GoCars themselves were a blast, and I’d still recommend the experience to anyone looking for a fun and memorable way to see the city.
I am taking the time to acknowledge your employee, Ray, at the San Francisco GoCar location. I had a reservation for a Slingshot, and when we arrived, the line was out the door and down the street with people who had and DID NOT have reservations. I've done Go Car here before, and after 10 minutes, I remembered the self-check-in kiosk. I made my way inside, and after accessing the Kiosk, I learned my reservation didn't come up. The waiting room was jam-packed with people checking in and others trying to get a new on-the-spot reservation. Ray was assisting some folks who had checked in and needed to watch the orientation video. Since this location didn't have anyone facilitating who should go where or answer any questions, I asked Ray for a moment of his time. After working with the folks who had to watch the orientation video, he went to a computer and pulled up my reservation. He realized that the slingshots were not in the kiosk check-in. He promptly worked on checking me in and ensuring we made our appointment at the scheduled time. Ray was extremely courteous, kind, and professional. He's a great employee for Go Car and should be recognized for his sincere professionalism! We had a great time on our Slingshot and did the Marin/Muir Woods. Great fun and I highly recommend it!
Absolutely loved the GoCar experience! We rented the cars for one hour, while others in our group rented theirs for three hours. I think the three-hour rental is probably better, but even the one-hour route includes Lombard Street and the Golden Gate Bridge. Driving the car was a real adventure and so much fun. The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I was driving by myself, got lost, and returned early. They told me that when the rest of my group returned, someone could take me to Lombard Street—which was truly amazing customer service. My only criticism is that the GPS could be better. It tells you which route to follow, but the directions can be confusing, so it is easy to get lost. Despite that, I would still give the experience five stars—and the staff a definite 10 out of 10!
The ride is fun, and it takes you to places that you wouldn't otherwise think of going! Definitely take the long tour because it's a lot to experience
Checked in with the lovely Emma who gave us recommendation on the best route to take. We hired 2 cars for a group of 4. We had great fun and such a unique experience. However, make sure you wrap up as it gets especially chilly in San Fran. 1 of the cars had some technical issues and we lost the GPS so we are glad we had another car to follow. Great way to see San Fran and would recommend!
My experience wasn’t the best. Once arrived to the shop it was so unorganized. No customer service, no one offered help. I had to wait 30 mins after my appointment to be helped and I arrived 20 mins prior to my appointment. Finally when I get checked in, signed the waiver and watched the instructional video I was given keys. My experience on the GoCar sucked. The navigation didn’t speak out loud like it should’ve even though I stay on track. They said if you go off track it won’t speak but it didn’t speak while I was on track the entire time. We got lost then kept driving in circles. I booked a two hour trip but ended it after one hour because of the issues
We loved it, we explore the city and had amazing views! We where able to snap amazing pictures was a bit cold but we loved it
Check in was ridiculously difficult. Information on the tour was severely lacking. Sound didn’t work for part of the ride
Had a few challenges with finding our way round with this tour. Fun cars & easy to drive but the map is terrible - too small to read. It’s easy to get off a tour route as the navigation does not tell you where to go at every intersection. She then stops taking yo you! Tip - use your own mobile GPS - you can’t see the on board one - and know where you’re supposed to be going! Also one hour is not long enough. Allow an extra hour for checking in and getting lost!
We were originally supposed to get the 3-wheeler, but it was very chilly that day. They let us have one of the enclosed golf-cart type cars instead. We had an absolute blast! I love the audio tour guide as we drove through the various areas. We could do our own thing or stick with the GPS route. Highly recommend!!
The ride was fine, but I had to wait one hour to get into the car and the GPS that I was supposed to fallow never work.
My reservation was at 12pm and it took a hour the get out of there and started my ride. It was 200 deposit because I rented 2 go cars and after I turn the car they tried to charge me 100 and I paid for insurance and the GPS was not working. I try to change the time of my reservation and they make it so difficult that I decide not to do anything and show up at the original time.
Our experience with GoCar was below average, beginning with the check-in process. The worker was occupied with trying to figure something else out, didn’t have our waivers ready to sign, and then passed us off to another coworker once we finally signed the waivers. The checkin process took about 30 min as a result. The GoCar was louder than expected - sounded like a motorcycle in noise level. It was so loud that it was hard to hear the Guided Tour speakers. Unfortunately our GPS stopped working about 30-40 min into our 2 hour tour. We missed all the information about the Golden Gate Bridge and Crissy field, which we were most interested in seeing and learning about. We ended up getting lost due to the frozen gos/tablet. We called the service number and were told someone would FaceTime us to help and no one called us back. It ended up being incredibly stressful being lost with cars beeping at us behind us. The gocar doesn’t have a good turn radius and does not go in reverse. We had to turn around at one point because we were lost and had to get out of the GoCar in the middle of the road to push the car back to full make the turn, all the while cars on the street were beeping at us. Thankfully the GoCar staff agreed to give us a 50% refund, which is why I am not giving this 1 star. However, overall it was a stressful and unpleasant afternoon and I will not be using their services again. GoCar needs to update their technology to prevent the “overheating” that the worker claimed was the issue, however we never stopped long enough for the tablet to be exposed to the sun long enough to overheat. It simply sounded like a poor excuse for old outdated tablets/technology.
Staff at location very helpful and responsive to questions. Gives a tutorial before using equipment and device
We booked the yellow car but upgraded to the ZeroMax. I highly recommend this. The GPS and narrator were excellent. We got to go to places I’ve never seen before. The tour operator was super helpful.
This was one of the highlights of our vacation! It was fun and a creative way to see the city at our own pace. I will definitely encourage everyone I know to do this tour. You can go at your own pace without making others wait or stay longer at places that aren't as interesting to you! It was so fun!
For the love of all holy remember to check the weather before heading out and plan accordingly. The rain got us 😭.
I loved the actual experience, really good fun way to explore and easy to do. Check in was chaotic and a bit stressful which took the shine off. Also there is no way you could complete the 2 hour tour in 2 hours so you will always incur some cost. Overall would recommend
So much fun. I was nervous at first. But the guided tour was easy to follow and great directions. We did a little side tour and that was so much fun.I'm glad we did it!
You are technically driving a motorcycle so if you’ve never had the experience before, take your time and listen carefully to the instruction video. It’s very fun once you get the hang of it but it was a little scary at first! Also, it gets cold out by the bridge so keep a jacket handy. Would definitely do it again, especially with a group of people so you aren’t just one little Gocar all alone.
It was fun, but the GPS would at times give last minute directions which was difficult in busy areas.
Very nice experience and ray is very helpful staff! Will def come back here
This was actually super awesome!!! We did 3 hours which is the perfect amount of time. 4 hours might have even been good. Takes you through all the highlights of SF. I would recommend this to anyone coming out. It’s not normal something people look to do but it was very fun.
It is a wonderful way to see beautiful San Francisco. I was pleasantly surprised the park was gorgeous.
GPS a little off, but still able to navigate. At times slow to tell when to turn so we missed & had back track.
Really fun way to see the city. Little go carts are exciting. Make sure to dress warmly. We rented for two hours but came back in one since it was so chilly. Small space so if you are plus it’s a tight squeeze but still fun. We didn’t get out since getting in and out is the hardest part. Easy to drive. Great way to see the city.
This was so much fun. My husband was skeptical but in the end we had the best time seeing San Fransisco in such a unique way. Who knew that they had bison in the city…not I!!!!! Do yourselves a favor and tour the city this way.
Was a greatly enjoyable experience, a great way to see the city of San Francisco at your own pace in a super cute car. It was fun seeing people smiling and waving at us as we passed by. We managed to see Mission beach, The Golden Gate Bridge, Crissy Fields and the Marina Green. Would recommend 2 plus hours if you have the time.
WOW!!! 100000/10! This was the best experience ever! We had a short amount of time to spend in the city and this was the BEST way to do it! Got to drive around and see allllllll the sites! This little car was awesome. Easy to park and stop and look at places. They even gave us an extra hour- truly wonderful! If you are short on time and don’t want the big bus experience, YOU NEED TO DO IT!
Super funny ..small cars ..driving cars Disney ..no track ..presidio trail ..see them out quite a bit ..funny yellow cars
A fantastic way to see the city (almost) at your own pace. The car was super cute and easy to drive. Lots of great sites along the predesignated route. The 3 hour tour goes by faster than you'd think . So not a lot of time for stopping.
Funnest thing to do while visiting SF. We drove along Fisherman's Wharf to Golden Gate Bridge on a one-hour tour. Took us an hour and a half but more interesting going slower and enjoying the experience more. People wave at you because they see how cool this is. The verbal guidance system is great. No problem finding your way. Easy and so fun.
This was something new and a fun experience. We were able to see a lot of landmarks and had the ability to explore at our own free will.
Where do I start... lol this would have been fun if the experience was with an actual guide that knows the area but they just leave you with a GPS guide on the go car and you are on your own. If we knew san francisco that would be fun, if the car was guaranteed to go through all the streets that would have been fine as well but that was not the case. A lot of times we went off route because either we got confused with the signs on the street or layout or because we are just not from there. And it would have been super ok and comfortable if we were guaranteed that the go car goes everywhere but there are streets that the go car cant go up because is too uphill for it and we did not know where those streets were located so we were always unsure were to go and because the go car does NOT have a reverse function it was such a hazzle trying to find the right route to return. Lets say that if we knew the city, or if this was an arrange route with an actual human guide this would have been super awesome & convenient way to explore the city. But because it was not, we booked 1 hour and basically lost that hour finding our way back because if we were late to return the vehicle it was going to be an issue. I even had to call them for directions to get back and the worst part was that I could have gotten there sooner but my mother who was in another go car kept getting behind and lost because she drived too slow and other cars got in front of her so we had to keep waiting for her each time. So if you are in your own book more than 1 hour. You will need it if you dont know San Francisco. This is a great and convenient way to enjoy the tourist spots. I think it way better than the Hop on & Off bus option. For the company, reconsider making a tour with an actual tour guide with a prepared route for the most important places. If you do, we would definitely give it a try if we ever go back to San Francisco. If we ever go back maybe we could try more than 1 hour although we still wouldn't know were the uphill streets are if we are lost and the go car will still not have the reverse function and we may still loose that additional time looking for correct routes so Im not sure we would go back unless is a human guided tour with an arrange route
Absolutely loved this - so, so, so much fun!!!!! What a genius way to see more of the city without guides and rushing etc. We couldn't recommend this enough - so you get a little bike/car thing and a sat nav to guide you on your way. The sat nav almost has a personality and makes it so much better - it gives interesting facts along the way and you get to take it at your own pace and skip bits if you dont fancy it. It was brilliant and should be in more cities.
This is such a great way to see the city! GPS guided tour was fantastic! We loved that we were able to complete at our own pace. I recommend doing at least 3hrs so you have time to hop out for pictures & to explore!
Fun, kills your foot and felt like we were the act of the town with everyone pointing, taking pictures of us, laughing in the zeromax, made it uncomfortable at that point and went back hour early
Quick little cars, they have buggy options also.Fun way to get a glimpse of sites, little bit pricey but your not on vacation to penny pinch right?
An absolute “must do” when visiting the area. My wife and I had so much fun. You can go at your own pace, stop wherever and enjoy the ride
