James was an absolutely incredible tour guide! His knowledge of San Francisco was impressive, and he shared so many fascinating facts, stories, and insights that made the entire experience both entertaining and informative. He has such a pleasant, engaging way of speaking, and his calm, patient demeanor made the tour incredibly enjoyable. He was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional, keeping everything moving smoothly and on schedule without ever making us feel rushed. As an added bonus, he took a fantastic photo of my girlfriend and me that we’ll cherish as a wonderful memory of our trip! James truly went above and beyond to make our experience special. If you’re visiting San Francisco, I can’t recommend him and Viator highly enough. Five stars all the way!

Lester was amazing!!! We would have loved more input on some of the wineries. Madonna was great - small, family owned, great tour. Sutter Home and Napa Cellars was a bit of a disappointment with how many incredible wineries are out there but we enjoyed our group and guide.
Our driver personalized our tour with fun tips and facts en route. He was timely as he picked us up and knew what we needed to know for each place. The tastings were unique to the individual wineries and most were very friendly and knowledgeable.
Don't book with this company. Told us the wrong time. Took my money and the Big Bus people were nasty
The wine stops were good but the tour guide was very rude to people. Make sure you don’t get Lester his was horrible
Going to napa was so nice but the selection of wineries was not good. The stop to shop was nice and tour guide was good. Loong day. I did love napa winery.
Fun laid back time! All staff are super helpful and knowledgeable! Small wineries give the best experience of small family feel
Marco was our driver and tour guide and he was AhhMazin. His energy was infectious and loved the knowledge he provided. I would def book this tour again. Signing off...Ms LC from Tha Lonestar State 🥰
The wineries they take you are all small and do not give you that “ France/ Luxe” feeling, also they did not go to Napa, but drive through. All the places they took us were not indeed NAPA. Sonoma was small and nothing to do. I guess, I expected more of those chateau wines places. Will definitely not do this specific excursion again. Widen I go again, I will make sure I know the places they will be taking us. This was not worth the money. The driver also talked to much about things that did not relate to the experience.
Disappointed! Apparently there are 500+ wineries in Napa and Sonoma….. so why would the tour organisers choose a tasting session at Sutter Home ? ( purveyors of very average wine that can be picked up at the supermarket) The first winery was Madonna vineyard and they were excellent. A good selection of different wines to try . The second as mentioned previously, was Sutter Home and the 3rd was Napa estates .. also owned by Sutter Home !! Cone on lads, do a bit of research and find some more unusual vineyards! In addition, the bus used was in fairly rubbish Cindy, with an absence of shock absorbers and torn seating . The guide was average as well with some of his facts being plainly wrong Not recommended!
I arrived closer to 8:25am, and the staff was helpful and provided a pleasant greeting. The driver was friendly and provided a lot of good san fran history along the way. He drove us safely and allowed us to stop at the NAPA VALLEY Sign and got us to the winery. There was a place for us to sit while learning about the wine at Madonna but everything was good. I also wish there was some food with the tasting.. but 90 min in Sonoma Square was perfect. The clear roof on the bus and cooler of water was a nice touch.
Great tour. Had a great variety of wines and the history of the area was incredible.By our tour guide Grady
The wineries and tour guide were all great What wasn’t great was the van used for transport. To say it was a bumpy ride is an understatement. The van definitely needs work on suspension it felt like you were hitting a pot hole at least every 15 seconds at one point I went airborne You couldn’t even rest your arm on window because it kept getting slammed. You couldn’t even type on your phone because yours hands were being knocked off phone . Words can’t describe how horrible the ride actually was. I did take a 3 minute video of the sound (slam slam slam) just to show people because without it you just can’t understand how bad it was. I would like the owner of the company to take the same ride Please take your van in for repair that’s a part of owning a business. Would def not recommend if there is a chance you could get same van
It was very organized, stopped at all the beautiful sights along the way to Napa. We learned about the history of the towns along the way. The tour guide was very kind and personable. Fellow travelers were wonderful too. Bus has windows on the ceilings to really take in the beautiful scenery. The wineries were beautiful and the staff at each were so inviting and kind. I would recommend this over and over again. Easy way to stay safe and enjoy the vino!
Wonderful half day visit to wine country. Two wine producers were very different in the experience given but both good. Reason for only 3 stars is my full day trip was cancelled without prior notice when I arrived at 8:30 so they put me on the half day trip, 4 hours later
It was a wonderful experience and the tour driver made it exceptionally enjoyable. All the wineries visited were amazing and the wine all tasted great.
Patrick kept things lively and fun. Great way to be introduced to Napa and Sonoma! The smallish group was perfect and just the right amount of time at each venue.
There was bad traffic in Napa meaning we couldn’t get to Sonoma for lunch. Patrick our guide offered us an alternative in Oakville - meant we missed the traffic but the food options were pretty limited. Just bad luck on the day. Enjoyed all 3 wineries - all different and just the right amount of time at each. Great photo stop for Golden Gate Bridge on the way out … The other customers were good fun - Patrick tried to control us all - and keep us all entertained
Excellent day visiting 3 beautiful vineyards. We had so much fun with our driver Patrick he did a fabulous job.
The wineries were excellent. We felt that tour wasted a great deal of time on lunch and too long at the wineries. Our tour guide was adequate.
First time in Napa and it didn’t disappoint! Loved the 3 wineries! The tour bus operator was knowledgeable of San Francisco, Francisco and the wineries And he also had an amazing personality! I highly recommend this tour
It was a great expedition at Sonoma and Napa Valley. A great experience to live if you just have one day at SF. The bus was super clean, they gave us water. The tourist guy was super kind during the whole trip.
Ms Debbie was a wonderful tour guide. We had fun on the wine tour ! Visit to 3 wineries, each one was wonderful in their own ways . Ms Debbie took an extra step for us , took us to the vista so we can have some pictures on the Golden Gate bridge ! Overall it was a wonderful experience!
3 very different wineries! 3 very different wine specialists! Great locations and Sonoma was very quaint. Driver was very informative and fun.
Overall it was a good tour some guest were a little stand off ish but that’s not Viator’s fault. I wish there was an opportunity to see some other brands I am familiar with
James was absolutely a joy. He was detail, professional and caring. His lightheartedness and jokes made it very comfortable. Each stop was more exciting then the next. We can't wait to do it all over again with more family members.
This was a great introduction to the Napa/Sonoma area. There are hundreds of vineyards to choose from, and this tour has selected three great ones. There are plenty of tastes to be had, with ample time for lunch in the middle of the day. Driver was great and offered some insight to the San Francisco area as we drove north at the start of the tour.
Excellent tour. The Driver/Guide Grady was excellent. He said he loves doing this and it clearly came though in his entertaining commentary.
It’s fine given you research the wineries and see if you’d actually be interested. Two wineries were an hour away, passing by hundreds of others. We had a terrible bus driver that constantly rambled about his own personal nonsense. Didn’t allow phones to be used on the bus. He seriously talked nonsense pointing out things like sheep and trees.
Fantastic tour!! Our bus driver was both very informative and very humorous! The small group we traveled with was a lot of fun and all three wineries were incredible! An overall wonderful day! I highly recommend this tour!
We had a great day, we especially loved the Madonna winery and the Napa Cellar. Darlene from Napa Cellars was entertaining and keen to share her knowledge and passion for the Napa wine and region.
This tour was one of our absolute favorites! Starting with our driver Marco giving us a tour of San Francisco’s iconic sights on our way to Napa and ending the tour with wine tasting in the region’s beautiful wineries. The tour is very well organized, the and the wineries we visited were very good. Highly recommend to everyone who is a wine lover like myself.
The driver was great, we had a great time with Steve who was very knowledgeable and kept us right on time. The bus was a little cramped but still nice. Take some snacks in case you get peckish, there are opportunities to buy and take food on the road so take advantage. We started getting hungry on the way from the third winery and it helps to soak up the alcohol.
Wine tastings were great. Lester, our driver, was friendly but the tour bus ride was rough. We were bounced and jarred around. Maybe it was a suspension issue?
We had a fantastic time visiting three different wineries and lunch in Sonoma Township. 💖Highly recommend. We went to Madonna winery, RuVong, and Cline Cellars.
Very good experience, we had a good time. We loved all the wines we tasted. We learned alot of information about how they make the win and the way they store it.
The guide was somewhat knowledgeable, but ended up getting us back late(only 30 minutes, not a huge deal, traffic is unpredictable). However, the winery list did not follow the proposed list on the itinerary. Instead of 2 estate wineries and Sutter House, the last estate winery was replaced by Napa Cellars, a Sutter House subsidiary. Both of the last 2 were just tasting rooms with very few quality wines grown in Napa or Sonoma, and the staff at those 2 wineries seemed annoyed at our existence. If the wine experience was as high quality as the first stop, I'd likely write off the other imperfections completely and give 5/5. However, to be advertised as a winery tour and then only see one real winery and 2 tasting rooms, it took the wind out of my sails. The location is amazing, however. Beautiful views, and a handful of genuinely nice wines. Just a little frustrating that it was one of the three wineries that you could talk to someone who worked on the wine. If you want a tour of the region and some great photos, this is a great tour. However, if you want to learn about and enjoy wine, you're better off going in a rental car and picking one or two wineries.
3 great wineries. The staff was knowledgeable. We were given multiple tastes of both red and white and sweet and dry. Great variety
Had a great tour of Sonoma and Napa which I booked for my husband’s 65th birthday. Our driver, Joanne, did a nice job explaining San Francisco landmarks out to us along the way north. Darlene from Napa Cellars was energetic and knowledgeable, the wines offered were very good. Teri from Madonna Estate also knew her products and we liked those wines as well. Loved the opportunity of free time in downtown Sonoma for lunch and shopping!
Great experience comprising 3 different wineries showcasing the range of different varietals grown in the Napa/Sonoma valleys. Guide was full of information. Hosts at wineries were very informative, especially Darlene at Napa Cellars.
Loved the wine tour and our guide Vlad! The information he shared about the region as well as his local recommendations for food and sightseeing are perfect. The wineries we visited were fantastic and it was so nice to have someone else driving s very new air conditioned coach bus. Only thing I would recommend doing is to hit the bathroom before arriving at the bus. There is not a local bathroom to use and the first stop isn’t until 10am.
We had a fantastic trip. Well worth the money. I suggest packing a picnic for the stop in Sonoma square. Madonna Estate was fantastic and had the best presentation. The tasting room at Napa Cellars was the best out of the three wineries we visited. The bus was very clean and the driver Steve made sure we had a great time throughout.
We took the trolley from our hotel to the Fisherman’s Wharf to board the bus for this wine tour. The highlights of the tour were the photos from the Powell & Hyde trolley stop at the Wharf, and our time at Murphy’s Irish Pub & Restaurant where we had a DIY Irish Whiskey tasting.
Our guide Vlad was so much fun. Great stories and information while traveling to our wineries. The wineries chosen were excellent. I would recommend!
My wife and I have been on numerous tours in different cities, states, and even countries. However, we have never encountered such a perfect tour experience as we had today. First off, our guide Grady was simply amazing. He was not only friendly, cordial, and considerate, but Grady was also an encyclopedia of knowledge that continued to educate and amaze everyone in our small group. It was a pleasant surprise as we were just expecting to get shuttled to a few wineries, taste some local wines, grab some food and get dropped back off again. OMG we were in for the treat of our life. Grady has a passion for what he does and it shows through in the perfect day we all were blessed with. Thank you Grady and we hope to see you again!!
Great way to experience 3 different vineyards. As an observation, I would have liked the driver/guide to have given us more info about the region and the locations we visited. He was clearly knowledgable about the SF area but not so on the wine area/wineries.
Vineyards are small and family owned and not ones they may be familiar with, but still worth a visit
Napa valley was beautiful. I enjoyed the stop at Sonoma square for lunch and the wineries. I did not enjoy the Sutter home winery, the wine was terrible! The other two wineries had much better wine. The wineries don’t provide cheese or crackers, but you can bring your own. Our driver was nice and accommodating.
Such a brilliant experience. No hiccups, great from start to finish. The driver of the bus was so informative of the surroundings on the way over to Sonoma. The wineries and vineyards were stunning, and Sonoma Square was the perfect spot for browsing and having lunch. I took so much away from the day, and learned so much about wine in general. Really brilliant experience and beautiful day out!
We had an amazing time! Marco was an excellent tour guide and we truly enjoyed the entire day. We wish it hadn’t ended! Thank you!
