Very informative tour with some great food! Isabella was a great story teller and was a great guide through Chinatowns history.
This was by far one of my favorite food tours. They took us to the opening act of a show! I wish I could have stayed but we went to the last stop which was the Italian restaurant. It was FUN. My favorite place outside of this was Fortune Cookie house. The BBQ pork bun was yummy and I who would have known I would like a giant rice ball with lotus in it. I personally wanted to try the salted egg moon cake that Isabel was talking about but we didn’t see one. Go to the Wok store when you are with her or where they sell kimonos. Someone on our tour bought a green one that was beautiful. Great time highly recommend. Learned so much about the culture. Clinker bricks will stay with me forever.
My husband and I met Ryan at the gates of Chinatown. We ended up with are own private tour which was pretty amazing. Ryan was so informative about the history of the city and both neighborhoods. He clearly loves San Francisco, and his enthusiasm was contagious. We walked and we ate for four hours, and the day just flew by. Everything was delicious, and my husband even ended up purchasing yeas at the tea house. This tour made me really fall in love with the city. I highly recommend it for anybody spending a few days in San Francisco..
Good amount and selection of foods. A bit rushed. Andre did a good job but needs to slowdown and ensure communication is heard by all parties and that the groups stay together.
I recommend everyone take the tour led by Andre. In four hours, we learned a lot about the city's history, architecture, and culture, and, of course, about Chinese and Italian food. I really enjoyed the selection of sites. Of course, we had to walk a lot, at a fast pace, to get everything done around 4 hours. Andre is an attentive, knowledgeable guide. He is very passionate about his work. Thank you, Andre! Excellent work.
It was very informative and the tour guide was great- very friendly and knowledgeable! The tea tasting was a highlight! Food was delicious too!
What a great time!! Very interesting and engaging. Our tour guide kept a great pace with the whole group, he really brought history to life! The food choices were delish. We are returning to roam more. The tea shop was a highlight!! Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Enjoyed the food, the company, and the tour guide. Nice to learn more about SF history. The tour guide took us to a gift shop, and that visit seemed overly commercial and unrelated to the experience of the tour. Otherwise, good.
Guide was very knowledgeable. Was too much food for us.
Great insights into local history coupled with bites representing the community. The tour is led by a person that knows the area well.
Great tour-learned a lot and tasted our way at wonderful stops. Our tour guide was fantastic. Perfect balance of walking, stopping, learning, and eating/drinking.
We went on this tour with the expectation of finding out a little bit about San Francisco but we received so much more. Scott's knowledge of San Franscico history, the people that shaped the place it is today and the great food places he took us to were amazing. He also shared his knowledge of the artistic scene in San Fran. It went for 4 hours and I initially thought this was a long time, but it just flew. My favourite food stop offs were a fudge/ lolly shop and a tea tasting place but having said that all of the stop offs were great. I would highly recommend this tour
So much more than a food tour! Scott our guide was very knowledgeable about the city and history. Enjoyed it!!
Isabelle was a wonderful guide - very knowledgeable about the area and so enthusiastic. I appreciated her personal stories. The choices of places to visit and the food were all superb. We were well fed. She even had some unusual places to visit for great views. We learned a lot about the culture and history of the area. I highly recommend this tour and Isabelle as a guide although you probably can’t go wrong with any of the guides.
This tour is amazing! Andre was a fantastic guide! He's so knowledgeable & has so many interesting stories about the history of the neighborhoods, people who live there and architecture. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about San Fran and taste some fantastic food!
Had an amazing time with Isabella! She was very knowledgeable about all the history of the area. Good for solo travelers.
We do food walking tours in all big cities we travel to. This was by far one of the best. The variety of food, information, and stops were perfect. Thank you, Cynthia!
Isabella was a wonderful tour guide and had a vast knowledge of San Francisco and it's history. Her owe personal experience was interesting. Food was fun and well planned out. Each establishment was very welcoming and there was no pressure to purchase anything. We went home with great memories. Thank you.
Wonderful small group food city tour with Andre. We live in California and enjoy visiting San Francisco. As locals we enjoyed tasting new foods and different historical locations. Would recommend this fun tour.
We had a great time, Brian our guide was extremely knowledgeable and fun! We especially liked the Tea tasting which was a surprise and the quick look at the theatre. The food was good everywhere and we learned alot.
Good food and fun visit. Dim sum, Chinese pastries, good pizza, and wonderful gelato! Ryan was a great guide!
Wonderful tour! Scott, our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. Great blend of local perspective and historical knowledge. You can tell he has a great love of his neighborhood.
Guide, content and food were all great but it was just too rushed. Too much packed into 4 hours.
The guide’s knowledge and enthusiasm and the quality and tastiness of the food exceeded expectations.
After this experience, we want to book a a food walking tour in every town we visit! It was worth every penny and more!!! Our guide Ryan was knowledgeable and fun and the food was amazing! We learned so much about San Francisco - from history to plants to pop culture and quirky facts - AND had amazing food! A great way to see a new city!
What a great time! First of all, I believe we had a group of 13 which was a very nice size; not too many. And, Ryan was wonderful. He was chock full of information about the city and the various areas we visited. He also had a great sense of humor which was delightful. And oh my gosh, there was so much food!! And, ALL good! We were unable to completely finish the tour as we had another commitment that came up, but we would definitely do this tour again. And, highly recommend Ryan. Thank you for such a fun time!
Andre our guide was amazing! So friendly and accommodating to everyone’s food preferences and physical needs. One of the best surprises was how much history we were taught in such an interesting way while we were walking. He even accommodated the heat by minimizing our steps down to about 5k for the trip. The food given were generous portions and we sat down several times to eat as a group and taste tea. We’d highly recommend this tour! 🙂
Fantastic and immersive cultural experience. Lots of walking thru Chinatown and North Beach. Excellent small restaurants. Ryan was a wealth of knowledge and very energetic.
While on a cruise, we had a full day in San Francisco. I have done various tours like this in other cities and had general overall success😋 There were two tours, 2:30 and 2:45; because I had a morning tour from the ship, I decided to do the 2:45. The 2:30 tour ended up having 20+ people, and our tour had 5🙏🏻 I definitely picked the right time slot🤩 Brian was our guide and is the class clown of the group. A former actor/comedian/tour guide/customer service agent…Brian knows his history of San Francisco, especially Chinatown and North Beach. He talked a lot about pre and post Covid differences, reminded me of the “Beach Blanket Babylon” show, which I had the misfortune of not seeing, but there’s a new show, “I love SF”, which is supposed to be phenomenal! Absolutely worth seeing🤩 We stopped for dumplings, a tea tasting, tried fresh fortune cookies, fresh fudge and taffy and ended the tour with Neapolitan pizza and cannoli🤌🏻🥰
Go hungry because you eat a lot of food! Walking tour was also educational. Loved hearing all about SF.
We highly recommend a food tour to help discover a new city. The food is always tasty but the true discovery is in learning the street level history of the city and its neighborhoods. This tour was a great example covering all those bases. Our guide knew the the neighborhood well and is deeply committed to it. Lots of great information and good food.
We really enjoyed this tour. Discovered new things about San Francisco and a few new places to go back to on our next visit.
Very pleased with the tour, lots of information about the history . Good italian food .
Small local company. Tour guide native San Franciscan. Very Knowledgeable. Book directly with them if you can.
The tour was well planned and very interesting. The experience was significantly enhanced by the personal rapport the tour guide had with various business operators along the tour. The food was exceptional.
Our guide provided insights into the Chinatown culture that made it a learning tour as well as an opportunity to taste new foods. Lots of fun!
Andre was energetic and informative. Lots of local color and history with this tour! Would recommend.
Great way to see San Francisco, learn about the city and taste great food.
Andre was fantastic. We like to walk fast with not a lot of standing and Andre was good about that. The food was amazing!
A wonderful walk with great insight into these two neighborhoods. Our guide was energetic and extremely knowledgeable of the area. He had a very good relationship with each of the restaurants we visited. Every dish we tasted was delicious. Dishes were evenly spaced through the four-hour tour. The tea experience was a favorite. We clocked this at just under 4000 steps or about two miles and though hilly, terrain was moderate compared to much of SF.
Plenty of food. Knowledgeable guide. Wonderful places that may be missed if you don't book this tour
Great food, plenty and to spare. Knowledgeable guide, with a lot of historical and local stories. My only criticism is the tearoom owner, who was smart about tea, told sexist jokes the whole time. Sorry but age and culture aren’t an excuse for that.
Great experience for all of our group especially china town. Informative guide , not so keen on visiting shops with no corresponding food history
Scott was an excellent tour guide. I would recommend it to friends and family.excellent tour company.
This tour was really good! Brian, our guide was great, he was funny and interesting. He had a lot of knowledge about S.F. history. Started with Chinese onion buns then to a dim sum place with Peking duck and green beans etc. Fortune cookie bakery, moon pies, Sam’s burgers (really good!) Fudge shop, pizza and canoli. We also went to a wok shop and I got a wok and spatula. A tea place where we bought loose tea and a steeper. It was 5 hours! Really good! Highly recommend!
Whole experience was great !! Definitely worth the money! Good time
Awesome way to see a different side of San Francisco. Our guide was Isabelle and she was very knowledgeable. Would recommend
We had an absolutely amazing tour. I usually do culinary tours on every vacation. This tour and the guide Ryan were amazing. The food stops, the history and all the interesting stories made the tour extra special. We really learned so much about the Bay Area. We are so thrilled we joined this family owned tour group. Made our stay in SF very special. Worth every pound gained. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
This was such a great tour. Andre, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and personable (and is quite an interesting individual in the best of ways). It just so happened to be a very small group (just 4 if us including our guide), which I loved. Chinatown and Little Italy have so much history, too much to experience in one trip, but Andre managed to pack A LOT into the 3-hour tour. TIP: Be sure to check the weather when packing and dress in layers if it's typical SF weather (55-65 degrees). I didn't enjoy it as much as I would've because I was chilly, but that's my fault for not dressing appropriately.
