1 Hotel San Francisco

We booked a pricey “Waterfront” room, especially for the sweeping water views, and have been incredibly disappointed. As the photos show, our room primarily overlooks a garage/rooftop and the Ferry Building, with a narrow glimpse of water in the distance. I legit thought we were given this room by mistake. This felt like a total bait and switch from the photos shown online for this room category (please go compare just for fun). The staff has been kind and helpful, and we are moving to another room tomorrow, which we appreciate. Hopefully the new room is better, but moving rooms mid-stay is a significant hassle that shouldn’t have been necessary in the first place, especially at a higher end hotel. Update— we moved to a new room on 7 today and it’s actually a waterfront view. If you book a waterfront room and are assigned 351, dont take it! It’s a garage / ferry building view at best, no way it should be priced or categorized as waterfront. Staff has been awesome! 5* hotel otherwise but I have to knock a star for that.

Stayed here on the Embarcadero for a work trip and couldn't have been happier. The design throughout the hotel is beautiful and really well thought out — modern but warm, not sterile like a lot of luxury properties can feel. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've had in a hotel, and the AC kept the room perfectly cool the whole stay. The bathroom was spotless and nicely appointed. Food was excellent — everything I ordered was genuinely delicious, and room service was fast every time, which made a big difference on a busy work schedule. The front desk team was fantastic too — friendly, attentive, and made check-in and check-out completely seamless. Great location right on the water, and overall a five-star experience. Will definitely be back next time I'm in San Francisco!

Hands down, this was not only the best 5-star hotel experience I’ve ever had, but truly one of the most special experiences my family and I have ever had in our lives — all because of Cristina. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond in every possible way and made us feel so incredibly cared for, welcomed, and celebrated. She didn’t just provide amazing service — she gave my little family memories we will hold onto forever. I will never be able to fully put into words how grateful I am to Cristina for making sure my husband, my 3-month-old baby Charlie, and I had the most magical, unforgettable, joy-filled 3 days. As a new mom, these moments mean absolutely everything to me, and Cristina made this trip feel so much more than just a hotel stay — she made it feel deeply personal, warm, and full of love. Her kindness, attention to detail, generosity, and genuine care touched my heart in a way I will never forget. 1 Hotel, I truly hope you read this and recognize what an extraordinary person you have in Cristina. She is the kind of person who elevates an entire brand and creates the kind of experience people talk about forever. Please promote Cristina ASAP — she is an absolute gem and deserves every bit of recognition. My partner and I had an incredible stay at 1 Hotel San Francisco for our anniversary, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Our room overlooking the Bay Bridge was absolutely stunning. Waking up to those views each morning and seeing the bridge illuminated at night was a highlight of the trip. The hotel's interiors are beautiful as well - modern, warm, and thoughtfully designed, creating a relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. The location is another major advantage. It's vibrant, walkable, and perfectly situated for exploring the city while still feeling peaceful and comfortable. As wonderful as the rooms, views, and amenities are, what truly sets this hotel apart is the service. Every team member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. A special thank you to Geoffrey, Anthony, and Darlene, who helped coordinate a surprise anniversary setup for my partner. They went above and beyond, not only helping arrange everything but also adding several complimentary touches that made the experience even more memorable. Most importantly, they helped keep the surprise completely under wraps until we returned from our anniversary dinner. Their attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and genuine desire to make our stay special turned a great hotel stay into an unforgettable one. We left with wonderful memories and are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you to the entire team for such a fantastic experience - we will definitely be back!
