San Cristobal IslandRoute
San Cristobal Island, Santa Cruz Island, Floreana Island
The southeastern Galapagos brings together some of the archipelago's most storied history and its most extraordinary wildlife, all aboard a catamaran built with sustainability at its core. This five-day voyage aboard M/C EcoGalaxy moves through Española's Gardner Bay and Suárez Point, where the waved albatross — found nowhere else in the islands — performs its elaborate courtship display between April and January, before reaching Floreana's Post Office Bay, steeped in tales of German settlers and a 200-year-old barrel mail tradition still in use today. Along the way, Devil's Crown's volcanic crater offers some of the finest snorkeling in the islands, while Santa Fe's endemic land iguanas and South Plazas' seabird cliffs round out a route rich in both natural wonder and human history — a journey that pairs eco-conscious travel with the Galapagos at its most captivating.

Day 1: San Cristóbal Arrival — Lobos Island's Playful Colony
Touch down at San Cristóbal Airport, where a seasoned naturalist guide greets you before transferring you to board M/C EcoGalaxy, your home for the next five days among the islands. After settling into your cabin, venture to Lobos Island, where sea lions greet you playfully in tidal pools and frigatebirds display their inflated red pouches from the bushes inland. Blue-footed boobies perform their iconic courtship dance along the trail, while snorkeling in the calm waters offers the chance to swim alongside sea lions, sea turtles, and rays resting on the sandy bottom below.

Day 2: Española Island — Gardner Bay to Suárez Point
Gardner Bay's fine coral sand and turquoise water create a tropical scene contrasted by sun-basking sea lions along the shore, where a walk introduces the biology of Española mockingbirds, marine iguanas, and Galapagos hawks. In the afternoon, Suárez Point delivers one of the archipelago's most extraordinary nature walks — sea lions and marine iguanas welcome you ashore before Nazca and blue-footed boobies, gulls, and tropicbirds fill the trail. Between April and January, the waved albatross nests here exclusively, offering a rare close encounter with the island's largest bird.

Day 3: Floreana Island — A Historic Post Office and Devil's Crown
Floreana's storied past unfolds at Post Office Bay, where 18th-century whalers established a barrel-based mail system still in use today, set against the island's fascinating history of German settlers and unsolved mysteries from the 1920s and 30s. Dinghy tours here reveal sea lions, sea turtles, and the occasional Galapagos penguin. In the afternoon, Punta Cormorant's coastal lagoon teems with flamingos and shorebirds, its white sand beach a vital sea turtle nesting ground, while Devil's Crown's eroded volcanic crater offers exceptional snorkeling among rays and reef sharks.

Day 4: Santa Fe — South Plazas' Land Iguana Colony
Santa Fe's towering prickly-pear cacti frame one of the archipelago's most stunning bays, its white-sand beach hosting a large sea lion colony basking in the sun. Look for the endemic Santa Fe land iguana and a Galapagos hawk perched atop a cactus, scanning for prey along the trail. In the afternoon, South Plazas brims with wildlife despite its modest size — land iguanas await beneath cacti for fallen fruit, while sea lions display fascinating social dynamics along the shore, and a dramatic cliffside trail rewards with sweeping seabird views.

Day 5: Charles Darwin Station — Farewell to the Enchanted Isles
A final morning at the Charles Darwin Research Station reveals decades of conservation work protecting native species and combating invasive threats, including the emblematic giant tortoise breeding program, set amid a beautiful dry native forest home to Darwin's finches and flycatchers. Return to M/C EcoGalaxy for disembarkation, then transfer to Baltra Airport with your naturalist guide for the journey home — closing out five days of extraordinary encounters, from Española's waved albatross to Devil's Crown's vibrant reefs, across one of the world's most remarkable natural destinations.
