We did not book any tours before we arrived in Salzburg, so there was not many to choose from since we were on there for one full day. We ended up booking this private guided tour for our family (2 adults and 1 child). Unfortunately, the day of the tour the temperate was very HOT that day. The tour guide walked us through the 6 hour tour in 5 1/2 hours. Since it was such a hot day, the tour guide did recommend a Yogurt shop so we could cool down some, and we went past a couple of water fountains along the tour so we could refill our water bottles. The tour guide was not a native English speaking person, to at times he talked rather fast and it was hard to understand what he was saying. We really enjoyed going to the Fortress and touring it and seeing some of it's museums. At the end of the tour, the tour guide took us to a popular place so we could get a good beer of cool us down, and there were several places to buy food. Overall, the tour was good, but we felt is was a little over priced.

We had a wonderful time with our tour guide, Sabine. Sabine was knowledgeable and so friendly. We would highly recommend this tour
Fine for first day orientation to Salzburg, not a lot of depth. Facts, dates, little in the way of interpretation.
Truly an amazing experience with an incredibly knowledgeable guide who gave us so much insight into Salzburg’s rich and interesting history.
We spent the perfect amount of time at the Fortress and Cathedral. Our guide, Bernhardt, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
From the river level it does not look as large as it is. Tickets were reasonable, get the upgraded one for another 3.50 E. The many dimensions and histories of this fortress are told in the various rooms and forms of construction as you pass though each stage of the walking tour. It is uncrowded and easy to navigate. This is a must tour in you are in Saltzburg.
Heidi was a really great tour guide. She was very easy to listen to and she was quite knowledgable about the history and sights of Salzburg. I would highly recommend this tour with her!
Peter was an excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge. He actually ran over by about 1/2 hr and we loved it. Unfortunately, we did NOT get to see the fortress.
The guide Maroine was very thorough in his tour, extremely knowledgeable and took his time, including answering all questions, If in Salzburg i recommend a tour with Maroine.
If I could give Marwan six stars I would. He gave us a wonderful tour of the city and the fortress all day and was a wealth of knowledge. Since my wife and I are academics, we appreciated the depth of knowledge that he had about the city and the willingness to show us all sorts of places. I especially appreciated his patience and willingness to accommodate my wife who has difficulty walking. This was a private tour and well worth the money.
Wow, Salzburg is a wonderful historical site to visit. Igor was our guide for four hours and this was the BEST Viator guide we ever had. Thank you Igor for a great experience on our private tour. We enjoyed the sites of Old Town, Salzburg Cathedral, impressive peaceful cemetary, the love lock bridge, the Abbey, Mirabell Garden and learning about the conclusion of the von Trapp family plus so much more. Igor’s knowledge and English speaking were incredible!
Peter gave us a wonderful tour of Salzburg. The three hours went very quickly and we covered so many high lights including history, art, music, food, and culture.
Had good fun I'm Salzburg. Eugene, our tour guide was very helpful & patient. If we had toured Salzburg on our own, I'm sure we wouldn't have know the history & stories about each place we visited.
We had a memorable time on our tour with Claudia. She was wonderful and we highly recommend her! She truly wanted to make it a customized experience and she nailed it! Her knowledge base was excellent and was able to answer questions easily.
Amazing guide IgorVery knowledgable Even with torrential downpour we saw some great sights Would definitely book again!
Heidi is an outstanding tour guide. She is very knowledgeable and known by many along our tour route. She showed us many sights of interest and recommended a great dinner location. We learned a lot about Salzburg history. I recommend this tour. Rick
Heidi was fantastic, flexible (it was pouring rain, so we had to divert to H&M to buy clothes and umbrella's) and generally covered all of the most interesting parts of Salzburg in a short 1.5 hours. She was kind and patient with two teenagers who would have preferred to be in a mall and was filled with great information about the history and sites of Salzburg. She can't help the weather, but in spite of it provided a great tour!
Our guide, Marwan, was a walking encyclopedia. Very knowledgeable about everything Salzburg and beyond. Salzburg was beautiful. Plenty of things to see and do. The old part of town, the cemetery in the monastery, the cathedral, castle, shops, etc. We did a day trip from Vienna by train and a the Salzburg Old Town Walking tour. We did the 2 hour option and were very pleased.
Marouane is an excellent French-speaking guide; he knows the city he lives in perfectly and is very cultured. He adapts to his group
