Private Full-day Tour Of Hallstatt And Salzkammergut From Salzburg With Options

Anna was a fantastic guide- very friendly and knowledgeable. We were picked up at our hotel and shepherded around for a full day. I would not recommend Hallstatt- way too many tourists- difficult to move around and other than a few shops and photo ops ( while waiting amongst the throngs of other visitors) not much to do. Anna had other options for us and I have to say, she made the trip such a memorable day. We visited other villages and finished with a great lunch in Gosau with a view of an alpine glacier among the Alps. Truly magical!

Marin was an excellent guide and storyteller! We enjoyed the trip. It was a little expensive for the day, but we had a great time and saw beautiful scenery.

Anna was always very quick in responding to my emails. She also gave me good recommendation of Salzburg restaurants. She was very flexible in helping us to customize our itinerary. Anna was our driver and guide for the day. We went to Gosau Lake first and it was the highlight of our tour. The lake and its surrounding was stunning. The place was quiet and peaceful. The walk along the lake front was wonderful. Anna's suggestion to have real authentic Austrian food at the lakefront restaurant was a great idea. The fish was so fresh and the venison was excellent too. Then on to Hallstatt which I found to be overrated. We planned to take the boat ride there but after seeing the lake we decided to go on the boat ride in our next stop at Wolfgangsee Lake instead. Anna dropped us off at St Wolfgang for us to board the boat and she drove to St Gilgen to pick us up. The boat ride was scenic and serene. After the boat tour Anna showed us around the pretty small town of St Gilgen. All in all a very good day.

Fabulous private tour with Marin to Hallstatt. He gave us historical facts & stories of funny local traditions with the odd quiz thrown in just to add to the fun. Even on a rainy day Marin made this so special, he flipped the itinerary to suit the weather so we would get the best from the 5 fingers lookout. Hallstatt was very busy by the time we got down from 5 Fingers so Marin fixed that in a heartbeat by taking us to a local restaurant nearby which had great service and delicious traditional food. We came back to Hallstatt, clouds still low but gave wonderful moody pictures. Then the weather started to lift. Marin stayed longer to see if the weather continued to get better while taking us to great nooks and crannies with another story around every corner. Anna our tour guide picked us on time and prepared small christmas gifts for us. She is good and familiar with the driving routes, its a fun and comfortable tour for the day. She also took some pictures for us with her camera and we are looking forward to receive it from her soon.

We did a whole day personal tour of Hallstatt with our very entertaining tour guide Anna. The scenery is spectacular and the town of Hallstatt is absolutely gorgeous. Well worth the day trip and our guide Anna was very informative and funny and made the day a very enjoyable experience. A definite must do!

We had a wonderful time with Anna! Our pickup was seamless and despite the forecast for rain, we were able to enjoy a lovely day of sightseeing. The drive to Hallstatt is incredibly scenic. Visiting Gosau was another highlight. Lunch at the lake was delicious, and we had fun chatting with Anna throughout the whole day. Would recommend!

It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Not only was Hallstatt a beautiful place to visit, but Anna was a wonderful tour guide, and a pleasure to spend the day with. We enjoyed her company immensly. She made sure to tailor the trip to our needs, and continued being flexible even on the day of the tour in order to do so. Not only did we love Hallstatt, but the hike around the lake was beautiful, and the lunch was wonderful, with such beautiful views! Hopefully, we will be able to use her services again in the future, as we do hope to visit Hallstatt in the winter at some point. If so, we would not hesitate to reach out to her again for a tour. We had the most wonderful day trip to Hallstatt with Anna. She is very knowledgeable about the area and showed us so many great places along the way. We even had a chance to stop and have lunch in a lovely place while viewing the last glacier in Austria. Our tour was May 16 and the weather was perfect. No jacket needed. We also had a lovely private boat ride on the lake in a traditional wooden boat. Anna arranged this for us too. She’s an awesome tour guide!

We went to this tour on January 2025 during the low season and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip arranged by Anna. She picked us up from our hotel on time and she really took care of our needs. We had the best day visiting Hallstatt with the help of Ana! She communicated with us leading up to our day so that we could plan/customize to make the most of it based on our preferences. We really enjoyed the convenience of being picked up and dropped back off at our hotel in Salzburg. More than that, we enjoyed her insights and history during the drive and in the town itself. On the way back we stopped at a great restaurant on a charming lake with local fare and had one of our favorite meals and a beer. She was full of the best suggestions and made the trip more memorable than it would have been without her!

If you want to stop and see the local sites and learn about the history of the area from a local guide, this tour is the way to go. We learned so much about the historical significance of the drive + scheduled and unscheduled stops as well as what life is like in Austria. None of which you can really get from a bus tour. What a brilliant day we had with Anna. Pick-up was perfect right outside our accommodation and the scenic drive to Hallstatt was wonderful with a few stops along the way. Anna had great stories and information about all the places we stopped and the walking tour through Hallstatt was very informative and entertaining. We stopped for lunch in a lovely restaurant and on the return journey stopped at the stunning glacier lake. We enjoyed the day very much and wouldn’t hesitate to book with Anna again.

Great full day tour of Hallstatt. Our guide Marin had lots of great stories, found us a nice little cafe outside of town for a quick breakfast and coffee before we began. Highly recommend swinging by Hanger 7 on the way back!

This was the most amazing tour! Anna was so knowledgeable, friendly and showed us incredible places. We enjoyed Hallstatt and the other spots like Gosau immensely. We highly recommend this comprehensive tour. After doing quite a few tours in different countries, this was by far one of the best. My husband & I had a fabulous day trip to Hallstatt with Anna. Of course the scenery everywhere is stunning, and Hallstatt just as you see in the pictures - maybe a bit touristy and crowded, but if you go up the finucular to the top, it is peaceful and truly a very special view. Anna’s commentary was so interesting and she is a lovely, friendly and easy going guide. We had lunch on a stunning lake away from Hallstatt, which was perfect. The drive was lovely from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Before our trip back to Salzburg, Anna took us to a restaurant where we enjoyed an authentic Austrian meal in a quiet outdoor setting. We reflected on what we had seen throughout the day and Anna provided additional details and answered any questions that we had. Anna is a class act! She treated us in a very professional, courteous, and friendly manner and helped us to experience many treasures of Hallstatt that we would have missed without her knowledge and guidance.

My friend and I had an amazing day in Hallstatt, thanks to Anna! Our day started with a stop at the beautiful Basilika St. Michael in Mondsee, which we requested. Anna walked us through the town to the church and gave us lots of information along the way. We also stopped for pics at St. Gilgen before arriving in Hallstatt. Anna gave us time to go to the Skywalk, which had incredible views. Luckily the lines were short since there were not many tourists at this time of year. From there, Anna gave us a private, leisurely tour through Hallstatt. She gave us lots of background information and we stopped for numerous photos. We had a delicious lunch at a restaurant that Anna recommended and had fun talking with her. She walked us through the town to the church, Bone House, cemetery, and shops. And she took us to the best photo place! I had waited several years before I could get to Hallstatt and decided that I did not want to be rushed on a bus tour there. So I decided that it would be best to book a private tour and it was the best decision!! Anna made it a perfect day with lots of information and laughs along the way. We made a new friend and visited an amazing destination!!

The trip from Salzburg to Hallstatt with Anna was absolutely delightful. Anna is funny, smart, and friendly. You will not find a better tour guide for this region of Austria! Anna picked us up in a clean, comfortable car at our hotel in Salzburg and drove us to Hallstatt. My wife and I took the tram up the mountain. We hiked on the mountainside and toured the salt mine. Afterward we had a marvelous lunch of fresh, local fish at a Hallstatt restaurant with Anna. Anna then guided us on a walk around Hallstatt as evening settled in. The beauty of the village at twilight shortly after Christmas was magical. We made a new friend with Anna on this day!

Beautiful drive from Salzburg even in the cold rain. Enjoyed this village even with too many tourists around. Lunch was good Christmas Eve when many shoos and restaurants were closed. Tour guide was at times hard to understand but accommodating and insightful with an interesting personal story. Village is dying away sadly and some Foreign tourists are quite rude.
