Great tour! Tzwai meter Peter was fantastic! He showed us all the beauty of Zaltsbourg , the castle and surrounding areas! He made it customizable to our requests. We had time for the pictures and truly loved our experience. Love 🫶 Zaltzburg! Thank you so very much!

Hitler's Eagle Nest does not open till May 8th in 2025. Tour Guide never reach out to let us know that our plan would not be available. The driver is just that. He drives you around like Uber or a Taxi. Very little to no information about Bavaria region. The views on the mountain top are wonderful and Kings Lake is very pretty. Not enough time on half day for a King's Lake boat ride. Hotel Pickup, Private Vehicle, beautiful views are 100% accurate. The use of tour or guide is a stretch. Renting a car or hiring an Uber and taxi will give you the same results.
We booked a private tour. We got Be Special Tours from Viator. It was the best day in a super Mercedes Van with an exceptional Driver/Tour Guide called Peter. Peter was very charismatic and learned about the area and very entertaining and courteous as well. I would recommend Be Special tours and Peter especially .
This tour must be close down, they're full of lies and unreal promises, Beware of them, do not fail victim of them. Be totally careful
A must do when in this area We booked the tour as I found out during my research before the trip about the Hitler’s eagle’s nest. I really wanted to see it but unfortunately due to snowfall in September this year we could not see it. Bernie still made the day so much more than I expected: From driving to the remains of the original house of Hitler to the see some of the other remains to the documentation center including the bunker systems and then to the top of a mountain to get almost the same view as from the eagle’s nest. We also saw a nice lake (I do not remember the lake any more) and the spectacular nature there. Absolutely outstanding. If you like the history of World WarII a definite must see!
I knew that this area can be crowed and I have read that the eagle’s nest has sometimes huge waiting lined but what we got was so much more. Our Guide Bernie had the tickets ready, avoided the crowds so that we did not even realized how many people were there. We had the elevator for ourselves, we saw the submarine engine and the views are just stunning! We loved the village of Berchtesgaden and loved the walking tour through it with so much fun stories. Thank you for making this day such a treat.
I was blown away of how much history I learned during this tour. Maybe I forgot about the positive side of hitler when he raised up and how evil it all turned out. the area is mind-blowing beautiful. Our Guide Gary showed us the mountains and the lakes of this beautiful area. But it really shocked me to learn also the history. I really would not want to have missed this tour. I wish this day could have continued! Such a treat!
Our tour guide Alex was awesome!!!!! The Eagles Nest was closed due to the road being closed so we couldn’t go up in it. He made up for it by taking us to King’s Lake which was incredible! Alex was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us a lot along the way to and from our hotel! What could have been a bummer (the closing of Eagles Nest), he quickly turned into a positive by taking us to King’s Lake! I highly recommend this company and tour! If you’re lucky enough to get Alex, all the better! He will make sure you enjoy your time and you’ll definitely learn a lot!
We highly recommend Be Special Tours for a memorable and unique experience. We especially appreciated the personalized attention and the little extras that made the day so special. We visited the Eagle's Nest, the Salt Mines, and several beautiful villages in the lake district. Gray provided so much interesting information and made sure we had a great time.
We took this tour with Be Special Tours and I can say that they really made us feel special. Our family enjoyed it to the fullest. We saw the lake district area, went on a summer toboggan ride (great fun for the kids), and had some great experiences with a nice mountain lake where we had lunch before arriving in Hallstatt. We enjoyed this little town and despite the crowds, we got a true feeling for the village. We saw so many things we would have never been able to see on our own. I cannot thank you enough for this day!
We were incredibly disappointed with the “custom” tour today. While the Mercedes van is nice and comfortable, what Be Special offers isn’t much more than hired car service. We were driven to the ice caves, and then had separate fees for entrance and a tour. When that ended three hours later, we were driven to the Eagle’s Nest. Again, separate fees and guides. Just to be driven back to our rental apartment. No food or snacks were provided, just one bottle of water per person. Do NOT recommend.
What a tour! Despite the history that Bernie explained us in a very interesting way, as well as sharing such a big knowledge about this delicate history, it was a great way for us to see the beauty of this area and the views from the mountain tops. We also saw a great lake that made us remind so much of our trip to Canada. We really enjoyed this day and seeing the beauty of this area.
This was a terrific tour for all ages. Bernie drove us through beautiful Bavarian towns and villages and pointed out interesting sites before we arrived at the salt mine tour. My 20 year old said the salt mine was “the best” with a train, a boat and two slides plus free samples! Really interesting. Bernie them showed us a few more highlights on the way back to the hotel. Delightful’
Our tour was terrific. Bernd was a wonderful tour guide. He took us literally off the beaten path. He was informative, serious, funny, and shared details beyond what was core to the tour. We never felt rushed and really enjoyed our full day experience. He was a safe driver and the van was super comfortable. We would highly recommend him.
I am very aware that the tour operator cannot control the weather. Rain and overcast conditions hamper any sightseeing opportunities. That being said, we paid a lot of money (full fare) to see the outside of a lot of Salzburg’s sites. The salt mine tour was outstanding, but I feel we were rushed through, due to our driver needing to pick up her children from school. My advice, pay close attention to the weather before scheduling a tour of this type.
We were picked up on time from outside our hotel. Our guide didn’t introduce himself and wasn’t particularly friendly. He dropped us at the salt mines which we throughly enjoyed and when we met with him afterwards he said we were going straight to Konigsee. We were surprised as there were several places on the itinerary that he said we couldn’t go to. For example there was another lake other than Konigsee but he said it wasn’t worth taking us there as once you’ve seen one lake, you’ve seen them all! He offered nothing as an alternative and dropped us at Konigsee. He barely spoke to us on the whole journey. We enjoyed our trip on the lake and had a nice lunch there. The driver then just headed back to Salzburg but when we got there he realised he hadn’t used all the allotted time, so drove around showing us a few places of interest in the city. This turned out to be nothing more than a very expensive taxi as the so-called guide just drove the car and offered very little else.
Excellent service. We went to a lake called King”s Lake…beautiful. Our chofer was very kind. The car was in excellent condition.
We had a fantastic day with our guide, Bernie. It was great to spend a day cruising the sights outside of Salzburg in a nice car without crowds. Both the salt mines and eagles nest were amazing and fun but we also saw many other tucked away gems. This tour is a bit pricey for a small group but well worth it to set you own pace and itinerary.
Bernd was the best tour guide. He was personable and friendly and super knowledgeable. We were able to access parts of the Eagle’s Nest that we wouldn’t have otherwise. We really enjoyed the experience of spending the day with him and would consider other tours in the area if we were to return to this region.
This tour was excellent. Our guide was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and passionate about everything we did. Her knowledge of the area and hospitality was amazing. I was sad that our tour was only half day and if I ever go back will 100% book with this group and request her again. We wanted to see the Salt Mines but didn't have time so she dropped us off before getting back to our hotel and took my parents to a beautiful restaurant for lunch and suggested a few dishes before being on her way...again the hospitality and level of care was incredible.
We booked this tour through Trip Advisor about 3 weeks before we left for Salzburg. Not only was our tour guide, Bea, super knowledgeable and efficient, but she was fun, very personable and truly cared about us having a good time. We wanted to see Eagle's Nest and also do a toboggan run/Alpine slide. She recommended one in Hallein and that did NOT disappoint! Also, when we arrived in Salzburg, we wanted to see Hallstatt but came to realize getting there without having our own car was a bit of a chore for our group of 6. Since I already had booked a tour with B(e) Special Tours, I reached out to them to see if they could accommodate a last minute planned trip to Hallstatt (very last minute as I emailed them through Trip Advisor at 8 pm on Friday night to see if they could arrange a trip with us for Saturday morning at 10 am). Not only did I receive an email back within 15 minutes, but they were able to meet our request! Our trip to Hallstatt with Bea will be a lasting memory for our family. She even took us to her personal, super secret (NON touristy) place to have lunch - the BEST freshest grilled fish place ever (and we're from Washington state so we know our fish)! She also gave us a little lesson on how to properly enjoy schnapps and had us taste her personal favorite schnapps - which was spot on. Thank you, Bea!!!! You are truly the best! We HIGHLY recommend B(e) Special Tours.
