Private 2 Hour Sound Of Music City Tour In Salzburg

We had a wonderful tour of Salzburg and Sound of Music tour with Johannes. He was very knowledgeable and very accommodating.

The sights were confined to Salzburg. Due to limited time, we were unable to visit the church where the wedding scene was filmed. The tour guide was knowledgeable and had lots of inside info as he had met several of the cast members in person. The tour was straight forward with recorded music available to enhance the trip. Several stops and photo ops. This tour is a get the info without the kitsch. Time well spent.

After some initial difficulty in finding each other (mostly my fault!), we had a wonderful time with Antonio! He clearly loves Salzburg & the Sound of Music and showed us so many fun spots related to the filming of the movie. It was so nice to be in a small van rather than with 80 people in a bus. And he gave us some great local recommendations!

The tour was amazing. Andreas did an amazing job, showed us a lot. Salzburg is beautiful and we did just enough Sound of Music and saw the sights, but not too much that your husband would lose it with all the singing.

The vehicle was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed all of the beautiful locations we visited and appreciated learning about the history and filming locations along the way.

Erik was as good of a tour guide for a private Sound of Music tour that you could ever have. Fantastic experience and Erik’s mixing in of the real story and the Hollywood story was perfect. Highly highly recommend Erik and this tour!

We had a wonderful tour with Philip! Showed us all the Sound of Music spots. Philip also gave us historical information and pointed out other interesting facts! Could not have been nicer… would highly recommended this tour!

The guide was very pleasant BUT.... the tour would benefit from having screenshots from the film of the various locations - either printed out or on an i-pad. The guide seemingly expected us to have a photographic memory of each scene in the film. We were disappointed that the guide didn't take us to the various places in the Mirabell Gardens used in the film (other than to the steps). Apparently it was too busy at the start of the tour with the market and too wet at the end of the tour to include this and we were advised to go back later. The advertised itinerary omitted the need of the driver to divert to buying strawberries and having to drive to the hotel of his clients from the morning to return lost property. All in all quite disappointing.

Johanes was a wonderful and very informative guide. It was refreshing to have a native of Salzburg providing the tour. He was very conscientious of our wants, needs and time. He was very knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time with him.

The tour was just lovely. Richard was knowledgeable and thoughtful. He knew a great deal about the background to the film and other interesting things about Salzburg. On an extremely cold day, it was wonderful to be whisked around in a warm comfortable car. The only annoying part was that there was nothing on line to tell us what to expect on the tour.

My guide had a wonderful knowledge of the history of Salzburg. I was taken to all the important sites for The Sound of Music and Mozart. I saw the important historical sites of Salzburg and learned of the different ages of Salzburg’s architecture. It was a very impressive tour.

This private tour is a fantastic way to see Salzburg’s highlights while learning both local history and Sound of Music trivia. Having a knowledgeable guide like Peter made it feel personal and relaxed for our small group of three. Be mindful of sunset timing—booking earlier in the day is best so you can fully enjoy the views before it gets dark.

This was a great tour. The tour guide showed us all the sound of music hotspots which took us through most of the town of Salzburg. He had great information and this oriented us to the city so we were ready to explore on our own the next couple days.

You can’t help but smile around Leo. From the moment we met him, we felt at ease. He has so much knowledge about Salzburg and the production of the Sound of Music. His tour was everything we hoped and more!

Sound of Music private tour- The tour was disappointing due to the omission of most planned itineraries, resulting in inadequate value for the cost. Despite previous satisfactory experiences with your tours, this tour did not meet expectations.

Phillip is a fascinating person. He has worked and traveled all around the world, but he was born and raised in Salzburg. He gave a great tour.

We had Mitch as our tour guide and he was exceptional! Not only was he entertaining, but he was extremely knowledgeable of the whole city and The Sound Of Music. He took us places the bus tours don't. I would give him 10 stars if I could!

Wonderful tour! Saw many SOM sites plus general sites of the city. Drove to some so it is very time efficient which is why we opted for the private tour.

We booked a private tour for sound of music and it allowed it to be more personalized and we would highly recommend doing that. Richard was our guide/driver and he did an excellent job. We did the 2 hour private tour because of our limited time, but we would have enjoyed 4 hours.
