We highly recommend this tour and tour company! Patrick was our guide and driver to visit the salt mine, Berchtesgaden and the Eagle's Nest. We felt like VIPs because of his personalized attention and knowledge of the different locations and the history of them. He navigated us through the crowds of large tour groups - it will be nearly impossible for us to go back to being part of a large group on a bus after this experience! He made great recommendations and handled all the ticketing as well as the lunch reservations. We had a beautiful view at the restaurant in Berchtesgaden and the food was great. He took us right where we needed to be on time. He was always there when we exited the tour sites to take us to the next site. And we enjoyed our conversations with him as he drove! It was a five star experience all around! We highly recommend Patrick and MCM Tours and Travel!

An amazing day trip, unforgettable experience of the place, beautiful landscapes and the drive, it was all well worth . Our tour guide Gabriella made it absolutely fascinating. She planned the trip and day very well. She knew the history of all the places and surroundings in and out. Pleasant and charming lady, we had plenty to talk about the places and history throughout the day and we stopped over for a nice lunch at a very scenic spot in the town. We really enjoyed the day and surely would recommend this trip.
Our guide Manford was very knowledgeable, professional, and personal. He was also very helpful and friendly!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Day in Austria – Thank You, Manfred! Our private tour with Salzburg Private Tours was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, everything was seamless and perfectly planned. Manfred was an incredible guide — friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the beauty of Austria and Bavaria. What made the day so special was how Manfred carefully curated our entire itinerary based on our interests. He really took the time to understand what we liked and customized the experience perfectly — from scenic viewpoints and charming villages to hidden local spots we would have never found on our own. We visited highlights like Hitler’s home and the Eagle’s Nest, but what we’ll remember most are the personal touches and stories Manfred shared along the way. The car was spotless and comfortable, and we never felt rushed — just relaxed and able to truly enjoy every moment. If you’re visiting Salzburg and want to explore the best of Austria and Bavaria at your own pace, don’t hesitate to book a private tour with Manfred. It was the highlight of our trip!
When Patrick, our guide, got out of a brand new Audi & greeted us, my 1st thought was "how is this 20 something year old Austrian kid going to inform this 61 year old man and his wife about things we've studied for years." Never judge a book by its cover because our day with him was absolutely perfect. Patrick is a brilliant young man who guided us on one of the best tours we've ever been on. He even went beyond expectations and took us to Sound of Music locations our Panoramic Tour failed to do the day before. His English is flawless and it's a day I'll never forget.
Lena was exceptional! She guided us everywhere and even went all the.way to Eagles Nest and explained everything in depth. She made the trip wonderful. Her attention to detail was perfect. The restaurant we ate at in Berchtesgaden had a. Beautiful view and wonderful food. Can’t say enough wonderful things about the whole day. Well worth the money we spent on this trip. In fact, it has by far exceeded our expectations. Thank you TripAdvisor for recommending this tour company. It was THE HIGHLIGHT of Salzburg!!!!
Wonderful time with our driver and tour guide. Took the stress out of driving, got to see some unique things that otherwise wouldn’t have, and had great views at the perfect lunch spot. Thank you!
I can't say enough good things about this experience. This is run by a father-son team who are both very fun and very knowledgeable. We were a group of 5 ranging in age from 10-80 so it was hard to find things that everyone loved. This trip was a winner for all! My kids especially loved the salt mine tour with the slides, and the views from Eagle's Nest are amazing. The guides picked a great spot for us to have lunch as well. Overall, this was a highlight of our trip!
This tour is led by an amazing father-son team who are both fun and knowledgeable. We were a group of 5 ranging in age from 10-80 so it’s hard to find an activity that pleases all, but this one did! The salt mine was a highlight for the kids, especially riding the slides. The tour of Eagle’s Nest is also worth the trip - the views are amazing. Patrick and Manfred were able to point out and explain so many details along the way, the mountains in the famous Sound of Music scenes. Their personality and expertise really made the day great. I’d go on any tour that they were leading.
We had an amazing tour with Manfred. Highly recommend. He took care of us from the start to the end. Great for Eagles Nest!
Our day trip with Manfred was fabulous. We were only in Salzburg for 1.5 days so we needed a tour that covered a lot! We were able to see the beauty of the mountains along with some history. Manfred drove us through some of the most beautiful areas throughout the day. The salt mine tour was fun and informative! We had lunch overlooking the town of Berchtesgaden and the mountains. Gorgeous! Following that, we were able to see the site of Hitler’s main home in Obersalzberg and then Eagles Nest. Manfred is extremely knowledgeable in the history. We learned so many things we did not know before. I would 100% recommend this tour with Manfred as your guide! He also gave us lots of tips and restaurant recommendations for the city of Salzberg. Thank you, Manfred!
We really enjoyed our trip. We were bummed that the eagles nest was closed due to snow but appreciated the additional tour options offered by Gabby. It was a very nice tour.
This tour was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Austria. Our guide Manfred was on time picking us up and was full of interesting information during the day. Manfred went out of his way to show our family of 4 (including 2 teenage boys) beautiful and interesting sights. Manfred had made our reservations in advance for the Salt Mine (AMAZING tour) and lunch and was also very adaptable to adjust our schedule when the weather shifted. We truly saw more off the beaten path highlights and interesting little stops that we never would have encountered otherwise. In addition, Manfred went out of his way to help us secure dinner reservations in Salzburg at local hotspots. This tour was fabulous and our family highly recommends it!!!
MCM Tours and Travel were very accommodating from the start. They were prompt in answering my emails prior to our trip and making suggestions that would work for my family of 5. We chose to tour the Eagle's Nest from Salzburg, on a Sunday. We wanted to go to the 8:30am mass first at the Cathedral. Patrick picked us up promptly at 10am right outside the cathedral at Mozartplatz (Mozart Square). His van fit us comfortably, and it was very clean. He spoke very good and clear English. From there we went to the Salt Mine Tour. We weren't planning on doing the salt mine, but we had our 3 young adult children that range from 19 to 25, Patrick recommended it and a friend from home said it was fun plus it was raining, so we decided to do it. It was surprisingly fun. I'm glad Patrick suggested it. From there we drove to the Eagle's Nest looking at beautiful scenery and listening to the history of the area from our guide. I always like private tours. You get to learn about the history, but also present day "real" life from your guide. What it's like to live in Austria today, his life and family etc... Before the Eagle's Nest we wanted to stop for lunch and Patrick guided us to a lovely rooftop restaurant called Restaurant Panorama in Berchtesgaden. It had wonderful views of the Alps and the Eagle's Nest. Wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for Patrick. After lunch, we proceeded to the Eagle's Nest. Patrick made it very easy for us to get the tix and the bus up the mountain. He came along and provided info about the place and had us go outside on the terrace first because he knew the rain would be coming. It's just easy when you have a guide. You struggle with the travel of getting to a foreign country, all the luggage, the language barrier and all the other unknowns. It's just easy when you have someone as kind and knowledgeable taking care of you along the way. I would definitely recommend this tour and this tour group. They provide a great product and great service. Worth the money.
Amazing tour and experience. Manfred and Patrick were first-class tour guides. Both men were very knowledgeable, gracious, and accommodating who took every opportunity to listen to the groups needs. They made the entire experience welcoming and relaxing. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the beauty and majestic scenery of the Alps! Loved every minute of it. MUST DO TOUR!
We had a great tour of the mountain region near Salzburg. Our guide, Patrick could not do enough for us and informed us of the history and the significance the region had on world events. We would use this tour company again in a heartbeat. One of the highlights of our holiday. Mike, Karen and Nick from the land down under.

Unfortunately we didn't see much of the Bavarian mountains during the raining and cold season in May. Didn't like the guide because he didn't planned well for our private tour and he was kinda rushing us. But he did recommended us a good restaurant to eat at Werfen for lunch.

Unbelievable! You can't plan the weather and the day of our tour was foggy, intermittently rainy, and very cloudy - not a good day to see the splendor of the Bavarian Alps! However, we had a local tour guide who took us to many other places that were beautiful and charming and we had a fabulous time. Too bad for all those on bus tours who spent 3 hours in line to see nothing at the top! We were very happy and learned much about the life there and saw many beautiful places that were out of the foggy path and stopped when we wanted to. Thank you very much!
