What a wonderful day with Patrick! Good communication before the trip. Car was clean, comfortable..a beautiful automobile. Patrick drove safely while sharing so many great details about the area. We really felt like we saw some of the small towns and hidden areas. He really knows his history and made the sightseeing so interesting for me, a history lover and for my husband, who is not. In fact, my husband commented that Patrick made the whole trip so interesting. We did this private tour and Patrick was flexible to our needs. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Patrick!! We had a wonderful and highly informative day with Patrick and would highly recommend this experience, particularly to those with an interest in World War II history. The car was comfortable and immaculate and Patrick was engaging, professional and very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and their history. What made it really special was Patrick’s unfailing good cheer, humor and the great efforts expended to give us more than we have experienced on similar tours. As an example, he showed us actual wartime photos on an iPad that added an interesting dimension to the sites we visited as we experienced them. Patrick shared stories of WWII veterans and their experiences as relayed to him on previous visits to historic sites. He listened actively and tailored the tour to deliver more of what interested us. Tina gave us a tour that was very informative and relaxing! She knew the history of each stop and had the perspective of a local to add as well! She was an absolute joy to be with all day! (and she was an excellent driver!) The next time we are in Salzburg, Lena will be the only person we call for a tour!

This tour was outstanding. Lena, our guide, was very personable and engaging. She shared the right amount of history before each stop and effortlessly brought us to the perfect vantage points allowing us to enjoy both Hallstatt and Eagles Nest in one day. She also keyed in on our conversations making some additional stops along the way very memorable.
My wife and I only had a couple days in Salzburg, but wanted to find an outing to explore the surrounding countryside in the short time we were there. This tour was perfect! Our guide, Patrick, was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and made this a memorable experience for us. We visited a couple lakes on the way to Halstatt which were beautiful as well, wetting our appetite for hopefully a return visit in the future. We spent the perfect amount of time in Hallstatt where Patrick dropped us off for a couple hours and we had a chance to explore the quaint town on our own and grab lunch. Next we headed to the Eagle's Nest. Patrick expertly explained all of the history to us, and we took in the majestic views at the top. All in all, a great day with a 5-star tour guide--thank you so much Patrick!!
Patrick did a fantastic job with our private tour of Salzburg, Halstatt, Eagles Nest! As a lifelong resident of Salzburg, Patrick guided/drove us through beautiful and historic sites of these areas. He was well organized and informed, and a joy to talk with (and knows his history!) We visited Halstatt the first part of the day, having sufficient time to grab lunch, see two churches, stroll through the town and a couple of shops, score some gelato, and take plenty of pictures. Then on to Eagles Nest as well as the ruins of Hitlers actual house halfway down the mountain. Patrick relayed all kinds of information about the site, showed us old photos of its history, and stood in several places where that history actually happened. Though a full day trip, there were several stops and the day just flew by. These are once in a lifetime views/places. You must do this tour! Patrick crushed it. Thanks again!
Book this experience you won't regret it! This review is long overdue so apologies. My mom and I booked a private day long tour to Hallstadt. We were caught in the national disaster level flooding in September, which altered our plans. Patrick responded to my frantic emails quickly and made sure our trip would be wonderful after the ordeal we had been through. Our tour guide was Gabriele and was the sweetest person ever! She was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and felt like family. She did an awesome job of driving us around the area, giving us history lessons, and taking photos of us. This tour van was new and comfy and the scenery was magnificent. Gabriele allowed for photo stops along the way but was great at keeping us on schedule. I would highly recommend this tour company, Gabriele, and Patrick. They were exceptional!
Patrick Fussl at MCM Tours & Travel in Salzburg was an excellent tour guide! He drove us to Hallstatt & Eagles Nest, but we also stopped many places along the way. I popped open my Red Bull and within minutes Patrick pulled off the road in front of the Red Bull headquarters so I could get a picture with the bulls! Patrick took us to see his favorite views, let us walk by a Sound of Music site even though that was not part of our package and added historical references that really helped us to appreciate what we were seeing even more. I suggest this tour for everyone!
Our family had a really great day with Manfred as he led us on our tour of Hallstatt and Berghof during our time in Salzburg. Manfred was very knowledgeable of the surrounding areas and we had a great time seeing the beautiful mountain views. We got to see a variety of different sights to include lakeside resorts and towns, castles, mountain ranges, famous spots from the filming of The Sound of Music as well as historical WW2 locations. Manfred gave us a lot of time in each location to really explore the different spots and we enjoyed learning about the region. Rain and Snow in previous days had closed the road to Eagles Nest but Manfred quickly pivoted and we had a very informative time exploring Berghof and the underground bunkers. We would definitely recommend Manfred and MCM Tours for sightseeing in Salzburg.

The bus trip up to the eagles nest set the tone for a remarkable trip. The views were spectacular and the history associated with this site make this a definite must do trip.
Lena our guide was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable of the area and took our family to the most picturesque sites in Salzburg! It was a much needed excursion after traveling to Austria with our 14yo daughter to see Taylor Swift, then to have it being cancelled. The Swan pedal boat is a must in halstatt! The view from the top of eagles nest is indescribable! Highly recommend this trip and if it could put a smile on a devastated 14yo, it can put a smile on yours! Lena was amazing and could not have gotten a better guide!
Our guide Lena was the best! She was knowledgeable, personable, and perfect for our family of 5. We had a great time walking through Hallstatt and even taking a peddle boat out on the lake for a swim. The tour of Eagles nest was amazing. The view was breathtaking, and Lena was very informative on history and surroundings. I highly recommend!
Most memorable tour we have done. Lena our guide was exceptional. From checking the weather to ensure the view from Eagles Nest would be amazing, to her knowledge of the buildings and people that visited Eagles Nest area. Our journey to Hallstatt, the Lakes district, and many pretty little towns was picture perfect, with points of interest noted and plenty of photo opportunities. . Lena is well travelled so it was easy to find common points of interest to chat about as we travelled. The van was extremely comfortable. We would highly recommend Lena and MCM tours.

Really great tour - Lena was very good at getting us around the 2 locations easily and avoiding the larger tour parties well. She was friendly, engaging and it all ran to time. Felt safe in the mini van at all times too even on the mountains!

My family rented two vans to take us to Hallstatt and the Eagles Nest. This was by far the best tour I have ever been on. Patrick was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable about the area. He answered questions we had and made sure to include my two kids. We even stopped off in a little town called Fuchs am See and there were baby ducks my boys got to see and almost touch. We learned about how they smoke the fish there from Patrick as well. On our way back from Eagles Nest they took us to the ruins of Hitler’s house. It was pouring down raining and they still got out the van and talked to us about the area. They had photos to show what it used to look like as well. If ever in the area and looking for an excellent tour, do not hesitate to book MCM tours! They do not disappoint.

This was one of the best tours we did while on vacation in Germany and Austria. Sadly the opening of the eagles nest was pushed back so we did not get to go up to it. We still saw several other important areas and got to see the countryside in a beautiful and unique way. Our tour guide Lena was outstanding she was great to talk to and a great driver. Although this was expensive it felt well worth it for our group.
Fantastic! What an outstanding day. Do NOT second guess booking this. Worth every penny and was a favorite day of our two week trip. Patrick made us feel like a local showing us the off beaten path to unbelievably beautiful locations. He made lunch reservations at the most picturesque restaurant in Hallstatt and provided the most relaxing adventure. We then headed to the Eagle’s Nest and his knowledge and guidance could not be matched. I cannot say enough about how much my husband and I enjoyed Patrick and the day he provided. We are already planning our return trip and 100% will request a day with Patrick again. You will not regret booking this!!
Our guide, Manfred, was very knowledgeable and informative. He made sure we were taken care of - from picking us up promptly at our hotel and at every stop on the tour. He gave us great ideas as to what to do the next two days of our stay in Salzburg. He also followed up by sending an email with the information in case we could not remember what all he had told us. I would highly recommend him - much better than a group tour.

Amazing trip from start to end. Manfred was a great guide, pointing out interesting sights and explaining bits of history. Hallstatt is truly beautiful and Manfred recommended lunch at a wonderful lakeside restaurant. Afterwards, he arranged for our tickets up to Eagle’s Nest, provided interesting trivia about the place and rooms. He drove us through small back roads and the views were fantastic.

This day was absolutely unbelievable! We would have never been able to see and experience what we did, had we not done this tour. Having Manfred, our tour guide, all to ourselves, was worth every penny. He was incredibly knowledgeable (grew up in the area) and stopped in a number of out of the way places, that we would have otherwise not experienced. If you want the flexibility to customize your tour, this is the way to go! We loved every minute of it!

My husband and I had the immense pleasure of a private tour with Manfred seeing Hallstadt and the Eagles Nest. Manfred is a wealth of information regarding historical and current events. When I told Manfred the Eagles Nest was of great interest to my husband, he showed and explained historically significant events. In Hallstadt, Manfred provided recommendations for lunch and the best spots for photo-taking. He even took some great pictures of us. To end the day, Manfred conveniently dropped us off for dinner at a great local restaurant. Without reservation, I highly recommend booking Hallstadt and the Eagles Nest ~ it’s a full day of adventure and fun!
Lots to see and so little time. Salzburg is a great place to look round and you can spend a day he re. The Eagles Nest has great forward-looking down over Berchestgarden and on to Salzburg itself. Fantastic bus ride up there.
The scenery at both locations is spectacular. Our guide Peter was the best. He was right on time in the morning, very pleasant and had lot# of knowledge to share with us. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day.
Hallstadt is definitely worth a day trip, you just have to get there very early, otherwise parking is no longer available.

Le nid de l'aigle nous a tout particulièrement intéressé car notre guide nous montrait plusieurs photos d'antan datant du temps d'Hitler. Pour les Hallstatt, la vue est époustouflante.
