Not worth the money going with a tour company Spend more time on the coach then at the location Beautiful sights but more time needed then a quick 30 minutes which we were given Plenty of souvenir shops and cafes Some lovely castles and buildings to look at Would definately recommend making your own way there so time is not an issue and you can get to see everything at your own pace

It was a very pleasant and easy to follow travel guide. They picked us and dropped us off in the main city centre area so it was very convenient. We had lots of leisure time to explore the place and the lake on our own too. The bus was very comfortable and air-conditioned, which was very helpful, especially during peak summer periods. Overall a 10/10 experience!
This is a guided ride through the beautiful mountain countryside to a pristine lake and shopping villages.
Wonderful and varied tour.Alenka, our guide, was very knowledgeable and funny in her commentary and was very prompt in answering questions. Would recommend this tour wholeheartedly!
Nice small group of 8. Our TD Burt was very knowledgeable, friendly and most accommodating to the passengers. We made many stops along the way, very pleased with what we saw and learned in 4 hours. Highly recommended tour for sure.
Beautiful lake. Bart was wonderful Hike to see the full view of lake No more no more no more no more
Amazing Mountain vistas. Not a hiking adventure but pure pleasure with knowledgeable guide. He even transitioned to Spanish for a fellow traveler.
Our guide Max was great! That said, 4 hours total is absolutely not enough for the destinations you are trying to see and explore om this tour. We had about 45 minutes at both stops and it is not enough. Specially for a lake. Bottom line: if you OK with just having a glaze (tease) of those beautiful spots, take the tour. If you want to truly enjoy it - don't take this tour. Instead, take a bus from Salzburg and then spend half a day on the lake, take a boat tour, really enjoy it. Next time we here, thats what we'd do. Not recommending this tour
Absolutely beautiful trip! Stunning views, great tour guide and the stops were long enough to see the sites without getting bored.
It’s not that I expected. Just passing by the Bavarian mountain to see from across far below from the street it’s not I expected Was disappointed
It was a wonderful experience in spite of the rain. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining.
Fantastic tour. Mirror our driver and guide was a wealth of information and brought in some humour. Amazing scenery and took us to a couple of other places. Thank you. Would definitely recommend it.Fa
Excellent guided tour of the mountains. Very interesting sites to visit and see. Our guide was very informative and helpful.
Well organised and educational. Tour guide, Max, was very friendly and accommodating Thank you Max Kevin Halpin Ireland
Oh wow what an excursion, this was absolutely amazing. One of the most fabulous days ever. Our guide Johannes was amazing and so funny and interesting, Highly recommended
The driver gave a running commentary as we passed places of interest. A very pleasant and helpful man. The time spent at konningsea could be shorter as there was not much there and the time added to looking at Berchtesgarden which is a lovely town
Time was taken away from our trip because the driver was told he had to take people to the Salt Mines, which was NOT a part of our itinerary. Therefore, our time in Konigsee and Berchtesgaden was cut short to accommodate this out-of-the-way stop which only involved 3 people in our group. Andreas was a pleasant guide, very informative and very proud of his Austrian heritage. He was quick to point out specific sites as we drove through the Alps, and was helpful in sharing with us important things to see in and around Salzburg.
If you are doing the lake in winter months it can be icy and a little slippery so take walking boots (and remember your passport as cross border into Germany). The view was amazing and worth the short walk. We travelled into the town which was so Christmassy -loved it! Susie our guide was so informative and we love getting facts that are not just standard blurb! Unfortunately Eagles nest was covered in mist so will definitely be coming back.
The scenery was beautiful. Leopold, our guide, was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our trip with him.
Great opportunities to visit small towns and experience the Bavarian Alps. Renatta a great! Would recommend to others.
Very informative. Antonio was an excellent guide. Very personable and seems to really enjoy his job.
They grouped two tours together so our tour lost 25% of our time dropping off and picking up the other tour. So in a four hour tour it was 2 hours driving and 40 minutes to walk to see king lake and40 minutes in a small tourist town. Completely not worth the time or the money. On top of that, we had an 8 hour tour scheduled for this day. The guide cancelled 16 hours before saying lack of participation. So little notice in a foreign country destroyed our visit to Salzburg. Do better viator!!!
Felt very rushed. For the price we pay, more time for the full tour would be nice. We shared the bus for the salt mines and mtn experiences so the time to drop off and pick up eats into your respective tour. You’re at the lake, walk to a scenic spot and it’s time to turn back to the bus. Same thing as the village. Maybe you sit down for a glass of something and then back on the bus. It’s not relaxing. However, the guide was really nice. Bus ride was smooth. If I were to come back, I would choose to take public transport or rent a car next time since they seem quite easy to manage as well and you can explore at your own time.
I took this trip because of the Kings Lake. However, we actually didn't get to see much of the lake, only a small section.
We had a wonderful time with Johannes who explains everything so well...we even did the Sound of Music tour with him yesterday and were so pleased when we say him this afternoon again. Alex drive the bus skillfully and safely. The tour itself takes you through enchanting mountains to the stunning lake with crystal clear waters... absolutely loved this trip !
Well worth doing, very scenic and close up view of the mountains. Excellent tour information. The villages were really beautiful.
It was a great tour, but our time in the National Park was too short. The drive was beautiful. Our guide, Andreas was very nice.
This was a great experience, our guide Andre' was funny, insightful, and did a great job of pointing out what to see and what was maybe a waste of time, but gave us the option anyway. I would recommend this tour especially if you want some great mountain pictures!
Packed into a minivan, we saw the beautiful Alps and lake. Stunning scenery, not too busy, but having an hour free time at both locations was a bit long.
This was a very enjoyable and informative tour. Our guide was Leopold who was exceptional in his knowledge and presentation. We saw amazing scenery which I'll never forget, learned things about Eagles' Nest, The Sound of Music, and we did the Salt Mines tour, which was incredible. Then we got to spend nearly an hour at the most delightful village of Berchtesgaden. Some great shopping to be done there! This was a well-planned, informative tour and I recommend Leopold as an excellent guide; lots of fun!
After such a great experience on the Sound of Music tour we were really looking forward to our second tour with this company. Unfortunately the guide and itinerary did not live up to expectations. Max the guide was unintelligible. Even when we complained we couldn’t hear him he still mumbled into the mike. I’m sure what he was saying would have been interesting if we could have heard him! He did not give clear guidance at the stops and walked off without ensuring the whole party was with him. The stop at Koningsee was not enjoyable. We only had an hour which was not enough to take a boat trip and to see the lake you needed to walk fast uphill for 20 minutes. The stop was at a very commercial area of the lake. Bergtesgaden was a very pretty alpine village. We just didn’t have enough time to enjoy it within the hour allowed. Extend one stop and cut out the other to make this an enjoyable and good value trip. The only good part of the trip was the views of the Alps from the coach and the skill of the coach driver.
Susie, our driver & guide was spirited and shared many historical tid bits throughout the trip. We had amazing clear weather so we could see everything so well. King's Lake was beautiful and the Alps are breathtaking! I would definitely recommend!
We had a fantastic clear day for this tour. If it had been cloudy it wouldn’t have been as good. It was a small van, just 8 of us and our driver / guide tailored the tour to us. Lots of beautiful views, snowy mountains and history. We saw the Eagles Neat from a distance. Plenty of time near the lake to walk and visit one of the numerous coffee and cake shops. As it was between seasons ghe other shops were closed, but that didn’t matter to us.
Great tour and our guide Alenka was super friendly and knowledgeable. We learned so much about the history, loads of fun facts and numerous stops at all the picturesque sites
Our driver was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining!! Really enjoyed the lakes views and the trip across to Germany!
Definitely one of the highlights of our time in Salzburg! We were incredibly lucky to have Antonio as our guide and also to have our booking become a virtual private tour as we were the only people on this trip. We were taken in an immaculately clean and comfortable luxury Mercedes which enabled Antonio to take us to some otherwise inaccessible spots. His knowledge of the area was amazing and made the whole experience a wonderful eye opener to this beautiful region.
I didn’t realize this would be a large tour bus. So the guide saying “just to the right” or “just in front of us you will see” is useless in a big bus. Interesting information, but frustrating. The road was winding in the mountains, also difficult in a bus where you can’t look out the front. Also frustrating was the combination of tours on one bus. Stopping to drop passengers at the salt mine burned precious daylight and was not included in the itinerary. The time spent in Bertchesgaden was about 35 minutes, not 50. Overall, ok, but I would find another way to do this again if I had the opportunity. I paid about 140 Euros for two adults. Should have been less with the extra tour on the bus.
Richard, the tour guide and Roland, the bus driver were fantastic. The sites of driving into the mountains and the small villages that we visited were like something out of a fairy tale book! HIGHLY recommend!
A wonderful experience! Our tour guide, Obrad, was full of local knowledge & happy to answer any questions. The sights were beautiful and something you’re unlikely to see on your own. Would highly reccomend!
Wonderful place to visit indeed. View from the mountain is breathtaking. Fully recommend to visit this place.
Our driver/tour guide, Andrius? (Andrew) was very good. Unfortunately we had bad weather on the day so that made the trip a bit disappointing as you couldn’t see the beautiful mountains.
The beauty of the snow capped mountain range, the stunning town with its added bonus of a Christmas market with crampus run, topped off with the abundance of knowledge of the area volunteered to us en-route. Amazing….. Leopaldo was fantastic and a lovely gentleman. Our lives are more fulfilled having met this man.
Excellent trip, guide was very good. Vehicle was perfect. Plenty of time to explore Berchtegarden. Highly recommend.
We very much enjoyed the trip, particularly on the panoramic road to the mountains where we had fantastic views. Our Guide, Andreas was very friendly and knowledgable. Berchtesgaden was also a real delight.
This is not worth the time or money, they cram you in a tiny van that you can't see out of and just takes you to a couple of little towns with a bunch of souvenir shops. I was under the impression that we were going to see some beautiful mountain scenery but the windows were dark and we were shoved in the back with high head rests, I was starting to feel car sick and claustrophobic. We couldn't even hear the guide/driver. It was way too expensive as well. I wish we would have taken a Sound of Music tour instead. Don't waste your time or money!!
Very enjoyable tour. Wonderful scenery! Very beautiful - and our driver and guide were fantastic. Great sense of humour and very knowledgeable! Recommended! (Driver and guide for Wednesday 2nd October tour at 1400 - sorry can not remember their names - please pass on our gratitude!) Thank you!
Waste of time and money. Trip included a one hour stop at a town to shop/eat. Nothing different than all of the streets in Salzburg, except I'm paying for it as a " mountain tour"! The rest includes a stop for an hour by a lake to go through tourist shops...again, just like in Salzburg. Don't waste your time or money on this trip.
We were extremely disappointed with this tour. It is supposed to be a Bavarian Mountain tour, but you see almost nothing of the Bavarian Mountains on it. The bus also included those who booked the salt mine tour, and for the rest of us, the tour consisted of dropping the others off at the mine and then an all-too-short stop in Berchtesgaden. The bus doesn't really take you through much of the Bavarian Mountains at all. We thought it was a total waste of money and would not recommend it at all.
The tour guide was great. It was such a nice tour just wish we had more time to enjoy the town AND do the salt mines. Didn’t realize they very close. The bus was so clean and guide was so nice.
I really want to give this tour 5 stars but other guests on the tour ruined it for me. Tour was awesome... guide was very knowledgeable, views did not disappoint. There were others on the tour from Japan that were very rude and talked loudly 3/4 of the trip during tour guides dialog. It really soured our experience.
