This was the perfect overview of the highlights of Salzburg. Our guide, Peter, was wonderful, knowledgeable, engaging and so friendly. He adapted the tour to our interests. The air conditioned Mercedes van during a heatwave was perfect! Highly recommend this private tour, and request Peter!!

Very nice tour - our guide as very good and friendly. Shared some hidden insights about the city. Recommended
Peter was a great guide. I think he tailored our tour to what I had requested beforehand. I had been to Salzburg many times before but it was the first real overview I’ve had of Salzburg, the city and state and its history. It was very enlightening.
A quick trip around important points in the city with guide. Informative and useful. Nice fancy car with AC
This was a great orientation to Salzburg, including Sound of Music sites. We traveled as a family of 5, including two kids and one grandparent. It was a great combo of driving and stopping to see key sites. Our guide was both very kind and very knowledgeable. Would recommend this to any group looking for a shorter tour.
Richard was extremely personable and knowledgeable. It is a great way to start your stay as it gives you a good idea of the layout of the city and where you would like to spend more time.
Great Guide Mr Leopold very good job very sympathetic and professional the transportation was also very comfortable clean and well… the company is very reliable, punctual polite everything what you can imagine from a guided Private Tour,
Leopold gave us a great tour! He was so knowledgeable and made the two hours fly by. We cannot thank him enough for making one last day the best one!
Great tour of Salzburg, by car, where we made periodic stops to take in the sights and take our photographs. Highly recommend.
Our Tour guide was very nice. It was a rainy day, but she My On made the best of it very informative tour of Salzburg.
Well paced out tour. Our guide Gerberin was very warm and cooperative and helpful. The tour allows you to enjoy all the sights well.
We travel all over the world and have been on many private tours, several booked through Viator. While the sights of Salzburg were lovely and the history was very interesting, the beauty of our setting was tarnished by the attitude of our tour guide, Leopold. Right from the outset he seemed crabby and cantankerous. We had requested hotel pickup from Viator, and we were in the lobby at the stated start time. I had been expecting someone named Elisabeth since she had contacted me a few times prior to the tour. We were waiting near the checkin desk and central atrium for several minutes for our guide, and didn’t see anyone. We even went outside to see if they may be waiting there. Finally we went to the front desk to ask if they had seen any guides, and they pointed to Leopold. He was sitting on the side of the lobby in a leather chair near other guests waiting to check in. He was not wearing anything distinctive from Panorama tours, so he blended in with all of the other guests - there is no way we would have known who he was. Instead of being friendly upon seeing us, he admonished us and told us he was just about to leave because he had been waiting for “so long” (by the time we found him only 7 minutes had passed since the official start time of the tour). He did not seem to think it was his responsibility to find us in the lobby, or to wait in a visible spot. We told him that we had thought our tour was with Elisabeth and had been looking for her, and his response was “oh if you want Elisabeth instead we can change guides”. We thought that was a bit odd but of course we said no problem, we just hadn’t known to look for him. We thought he would brush it off, but he kept mentioning the wait for us as we walked to the car, and when I mentioned we had actually been waiting for him near the hotel doors at the start time, he said “well, I was also waiting for 20 minutes so let’s get going”. It was not a good start and left a bitter taste in our mouths. Despite our disappointment in this negative start, we were willing to put it behind us, but there were other flares of arrogance, rudeness, annoyance and racist overtones during the 2 hour tour. Initially Leopold asked if we were American based on our accents, and we told him we were Canadian. He then said, “oh but you must originally be from India, are you American Indians or Spicy Indians?”. My husband was confused, and told him he wasn’t sure what he meant. Leopold said “you know, are you like those Indians that only eat spicy food?”. My husband responded that Canada is very multicultural and that we eat all kinds of food. So, the tone continued to be uncomfortable. Leopold did give us good information and history about Salzburg, but showed lack of patience. When my daughter asked him to repeat something because she didn’t quite understand what he had said, he mocked her. It was really quite shocking. Near the end of the tour we asked whether he could drop us off near Mirabell gardens on the way to the hotel, and he mentioned us a route we could take to walk back. My husband mentioned the concierge had also mentioned that route, and Leopold said “oh the concierge told you that, but you think I am telling you bull$hit?” Completely inappropriate behavior especially in the presence of a child. It was pretty upsetting and spoiled our whole afternoon in Salzburg. Overall Salzburg is a lovely city with great sights, but we were just unlucky with the guide we were assigned to. The trip was unfortunately tarnished by Leopold’s brash personality. Probably time to retire!
He answered all my questions and provided us with a lot of historical information. Mirko was fabulous. We especially like going to the top of the hill and enjoying the view and the crazy person's castle.
Overall, our tour guide Leo was very friendly and extremely informative. Learnt a lot about main attractions and historical stories behind them.
Our guide/driver, Ben, was on time, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. Tour was customized to us. Some city highlights and a few SOM sites. Ben gave us stories, insider tips, and extra highlights. He’s a safe driver and informative guide. He didn’t just have a tour spiel, but was able to answer our specific questions. Masks were worn consistently in the vehicle.
We had Leopald the magnificent. His love, energy and historical information were delightful and helped us cater the remainder of our visit. He really personified the welcoming feeling Salzburg is known for. A complete yes!!
We had a good time with a short tour of Salzburg in 2 hours. Peter was extremely knowledgeable and cordial which added to a better experience of the tour.
We really appreciated our tour guide (Wolfgang) on this tour of Salzburg because he asked what we were most interested in and then customized the tour for us. Even though we were on the City Highlights tour, he focused on interesting sites from the Sound of Music based on our interests. He stopped in several places and parked so that I could get out and take pictures and walk around but kept my wife (who couldn't get out of the van easily) company. It was alot of information and we really got a good feel for the city in just a couple hours. We highly recommend this tour.
My wife and I paid 200 euros for a 2 hour drive round in a car being driven by the tour guide. We stopped at a stables with a park en-route and were told we could walk round for as long as we wanted. At £1.50/minute in a temperature of -3C we didn't feel this was particularly of good value. The tour doesn't take you anywhere you can't get to by taxi, and whilst the guide was friendly, the car punctual and clean, we were very disappointed particularly having read the good reviews previously for this.

I would highly recommend for anyone going to Salzburg. The guide was amazing!

Wolgang arrived at our hotel right on time and shared with us all of the great history of Salzburg. His knowledge of the area was very in depth and he was able to share with us a great deal of information about the city. We were able to hit all of the Sound of Music highlights but also learn our way around the city and all that it has to offer. This tour was the perfect length and left us time to visit the areas that interested us. Wolfgang dropped us off at Mirabell Gardens and recommended we visit the market. The market was awesome, we had a great lunch and a terrific time.

If you're a Sound of Music enthusiast this is the tour for you! Our guide was not only completely knowledgeable but was entertaining, kept all of us engaged especially my younger ones 9 and 12 years old... and even the boys! We went by the Von Trapp family home, took a stroll through a park that had children running and playing everywhere, saw the gazebo where Leizel had her first kiss, down the street the children hung like monkeys from the trees and of course the amphitheater where the Von Trapp family sang before making their big escape! We had a sing-a-long of Doe A Deer and more. Our guide not only told us many facts about TSOM but included many other sites and facts about Salzburg itself. All in all, we left the tour on a high note and could probably do the tour all over again!

Fantastic guided tour thanks to Johannes' expert knowledge and friendliness I would definitely recommend to others! Well worth the cost!

A very informative and comprehensive tour with a very knowledgable guide. Having a private tour meant that there was ample time for questions and discussion. I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

This is the perfect tour to start any visit to Salzburg. Our driver was great as we explored all areas of this magnificent city. Wonderful. Highly recommend

The tour could have been better primarily due to the rain. It poured through most of the tour. Despite the weather Thomas provided an interesting van tour of Salzburg. He provided a balance of Sound of Music and Salzburg history.

Would have liked to have walked a little more with Lisa, but again we thought she was delightful.. A very knowledgable guide.

A guided city tour just for us! At the moment there is still little tourism in the city. Nevertheless, Panorama Tours has enabled us to take a private tour of the city in a minibus with Leopold. An Austrian with body and soul. Leopold has a lot of experience has shown us a lot of the city and brought the children a little closer to the history of Salzburg. A great ride with lots of great tips. Highly recommended.
Guia muy atento y servicial. Bien documentado sobre la historia de la ciudad y tambien sobre anecdotas de distintas epocas.
A few days ago we were in Salzburg and decided to take a city tour with CIVITATIS as they were the only ones offering it in Spanish. FATAL!!! First, they didn't tell us exactly where we stayed. When we phoned, they just told us that they had no record of any changes or errors. They only gave us another phone number to call, where they only answered us in English and German. We were told that the tour was somewhere else and that it was also by van!!! They didn't specify any of this on the CIVITATIS website and it was presumably on foot, since Salzburg is a very affordable city walking, especially what you will end up teaching us. After a row (on top) about being late, they put us in the van with another German couple, therefore the tour was bilingual. The driver was German and although he spoke well, he had a lot of facts and spoke fast and was understood quite regularly. Explanations nothing you can't read in a guidebook, with nothing interesting except this building is called that and is from the century such. It lasts one hour and costs 18 euros. I have done tours much cheaper, 1000 times more interesting in which I learned a lot and 3 hours most. To find out about interesting things about the city I have to go online. I don’t know if this is the fault of CIVITATIS or PANORAMA TOURS, I guess both 2 are partly to blame: some for not knowing what they are selling through their website and the others for offering such an expensive and bad Service. I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH THIS WEBSITE!!

Tres intéressant et variée. Une belle aperçu de la totalité de la ville et de ses alentours qui nous a permis après d’apprécier encore mieux la visite de la veille ville et du château. Tres bonne guide.

Sehr kompetente und unterhaltsame Führung.
Jederzeit wieder!
