Outstanding stay at this magnificent hotel! The staff is superb - very highly trained, very approachable, friendly and polite. The room we had was extremely elegant with a lovely little balcony facing over the river. Faultless in every aspect!
This classic hotel is anything but stuffy; it is beautiful, modern, and immaculate with warm and personable staff. We had a beautiful suite with a view of the old city and the river; the room was very quiet and had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. The breakfast buffet is legendary for a reason and the Sacher Grill is a great choice for dinner. From this location it is easy to explore all of Salzburg!
Absolutely a most delightful and comfortable stay. The staff were all exceptional and we were made to feel very welcome. My husband was celebrating his birthday and the staff remembered on the day to wish him felicitations and he also had a delicious surprise sent up to our room! Location is excellent! Breakfast was superb! Thank you all for a most wonderful experience.
Wonderful hotel. From start to finish, our stay was near perfect. Service is top- when I called down after testing the mattress and finding it too firm, two housekeepers arrived in minutes with fluffy mattress pads and extra pillows. Our room overlooked the river and some historic buildings. At first it seemed tight but there was ample storage. The bathroom hidden behind mirrored doors had a bath tub and shower cubicle as well as double vanity with adjacent storage shelves, so we were perfectly comfortable. Decor was light with a few dark accent tables and desk area with minibar stocked daily with water juice and soda. Breakfast is beautifully managed by Ursula, and served by a gracious crew. We used the cafe daily and found it very convenient with nice service as well. Thank you all! There is a more formal restaurant as well, and a bar with a food menu. We didn’t try these venues. Do yourself a favour, book a room here and step back in time, in the most wonderful way.

She didn’t just check us in, she personally showed us to our room, explaining the details with care and making us feel immediately at home. That level of attention sets the tone for the entire stay. The hotel itself is beautiful, refined, classic, and full of character, with stunning views and impeccably maintained rooms. Everything feels thoughtful and curated without ever feeling stiff or overly formal. A particular highlight was the bar. The bar staff were exceptional, attentive, knowledgeable, and effortlessly friendly. They created such a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere, making every evening drink feel special. Their attention to detail and genuine engagement elevated the experience far beyond what you might expect, even at this level. Across the board, every member of staff we encountered was courteous, professional, and welcoming. It’s rare to find a team so consistently excellent. Hotel Sacher Salzburg is not just a luxury hotel, it’s a place where you feel genuinely cared for. We would return without hesitation.
